WikiProject Eurovision Cup news
WikiProject Eurovision Cup EuroCup News
Dear Project Member The winner of the second Project Eurovision Cup is Moldova98, who achieved a score of 54 points. Androptrnt finished in second place once again with 40 points, and Sims2aholic8 in third with 16 points. The third edition has begun and will run from 1 July to 30 September, allowing participants a reasonable amount of time to have their articles which they may have nominated for GA or FA status, to be reviewed. The aim of the competition is to help improve many of the articles within Project Eurovision that would have been otherwise left neglected, by carrying out as many objectives as possible. The more objectives you do, the more points you will earn. So have you got what it takes to be crowned winner of the next Project Eurovision Cup? Project members who wish to participate can now register or de-register at any time by clicking here. The Project Cup judges, Wesley Mouse and CT Cooper, wish you all the best of luck. |

This message is sent at 12:53, 5 July 2015 (UTC) by Arbitration Clerk User:Penwhale via MassMessage on behalf of the Arbitration Committee. You are receiving this message because your name appears on this list and have not elected to opt-out of being notified of development in the arbitration case.
On 5 July, 2015, the following motion was passed and enacted:
- Paragraphs (2) and (3) of the Arbitration Committee's motion of 29 June 2015 about the injunction and reporting breaches of it are hereby rescinded.
- The Arbitration Committee hereby declares an amnesty covering:
- the original comment made by Eric Corbett on 25 June 2015 and any subsequent related comments made by him up until the enactment of this current motion; and
- the subsequent actions related to that comment taken by Black Kite, GorillaWarfare, Reaper Eternal, Kevin Gorman, GregJackP and RGloucester before this case was opened on 29 June 2015.
Quaylink
What do you not like about my selection of images? I only actually removed one that was there previously, but I added two more - one of a stop, one of a Versa from the front, and one of a standard Stagecoach bus operating Q1. Surely that's preferable to a single image of a Versa showing only its side. And why are you attached to a list of the places it stops at? I included a prose version as a replacement, which says the same thing but with more context. I don't think the list will make any sense to anyone not already familiar with the area, and there was a link to a map for those who aren't. More importantly, in a few days, it will be out of date. Are you going to add a list for the new Q1/Q2/Q3? Because I don't particularly want to, but the article will obviously look odd and perhaps mislead people if it's not added. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JoNamorn (talk • contribs) 17:26, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hi JoNamorn - First off I apologize for reverting - I perhaps should've discussed it first instead of disruptively reverting so I apologize for that, Anyway I had a problem with you removing the image captions themselves as in my eyes if anyone wants to know more info on the vehicles they can then click on the links, (The images were fine), As for the routes - I hadn't realized you prosed it all ,
- Anyway I've reverted back to your version although I have reinstated the image captions :), Cheers, –Davey2010Talk 17:53, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

Saoirse Ronan
Hi. Have you read Talk:Saoirse Ronan? MOS:IDENTITY and MOS:GNL would certainly seem to suggest that if Saoirse Ronan calls herself an actor as opposed to actress, a la Helen Mirren, and it's referenced, then that's what WP should also do. I am not aware that consensus gets to override the MOS. The "consensus" consists of 4 editors - not counting Musdan77, 2 of those are blocked, and 3 of them have 190 edits between them. Sundayclose also seems happy with "actor"... BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 19:42, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Bastun, Yep seen the discussion, Well I still believe "Actress" is correct but I know you obviously think otherwise so I honestly think the best idea is to start an RFC instead otherwise you could end up being blocked for edit warring but anyway that's just my honest opinion, Happy editing, –Davey2010Talk 19:59, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
- Just to clarify, I don't have a strong opinion about the actor-actress issue. My concern was Bryantriplex (talk · contribs) edit warring and removal of citations. Sundayclose (talk) 20:36, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: User:Jbeck8924/sandbox
Hello Davey2010. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:Jbeck8924/sandbox, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: This is a valid draft, given the claim to importance. Perhaps MFD would be better. Thank you. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 22:27, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hi FreeRangeFrog, Jacksepticeye already exists thus I assumed this sandbox was basically a NOTWEBHOST vio?, What's already in that sandbox is already included in the article anyway ? .... Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 23:01, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
- Ah, I didn't know that. So then clearing the sandbox would have been fine, U5 was maybe too harsh. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 23:26, 18 July 2015 (UTC)

AfD 2017 Formula One season
Hi. While I think that your closing rationale on this AfD discussion is very reasonable, you closed this way to soon. The rules state that an AfD should be allowed to run seven full days and you barely gave it 50 hours. That's way to short. Therefore I would kindly request you to undo your closing and allow the discussion to run its full course. Thanks, Tvx1 21:42, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Tvx1, Well to be honest I don't think the outcome will change but seeing as you asked nicely I'll reopen it for you :) –Davey2010Talk 21:47, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. I too think that it looks like the result won't change as it stands now. But the default length of seven days is there to ensure that a considerable number of users can get aware of the discussion and weigh in their opinion and we should respect that. If only more supports for keep weigh in this case, so be it. Tvx1 21:53, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- No worries, All reopened, Yup they're supposed too but in obvious cases like these they can be closed earlier, Meh they're all open so harm done :) –Davey2010Talk 21:57, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

AfD
Quick question, since you were so helpful earlier. I'm trying to help out on the AfD board, and I noticed you responded on two AfDs that I also responded to. However, on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Maria Checa you voted to redirect to a list of playmates page, while on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Neriah Davis you voted for a straight delete, rather than a redirect to that same list. You've been doing this a lot longer than I have. Am I missing something? Thanks. Just trying to figure out how to be productive and as correct as possible. Onel5969 TT me 14:54, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Onel5969, I thought there was something odd when I !voted in one of 'em ..... & it was that! , Yup should've been a redirect thanks for noticing the error there , –Davey2010Talk 15:46, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
- Being new to the process, it was confusing. I thought I was doing something wrong, especially after the war I appear to have started on Alice Goodwin. But thanks for helping again. Onel5969 TT me 15:49, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
- Nope you're doing everything fine! :), To be fair you can't specifically link to News results and say it meets GNG as that just pisses people off - You need to link the actual sources which you did do after anyway, Personally I don't think the sources are all that but meh we're different ... I'm waffling on sorry . –Davey2010Talk 15:56, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

Your non-admin closure
Hi, On 23 January 2015 you closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Linda Pinizzotto (2nd nomination) as a redirect. Since that time Linda Pinizzotto has had more coverage in wp:RS and I would like to try and revive this article. Can you tell me what is the process? Thanks in advance, Ottawahitech (talk)
- Hi Ottawahitech, Well COA Ontario and and the Linda Pinizzotto redirect are now up for deletion and to be perfectly honest I don't think your sources would be any better in saving the article, It's probably best you discuss it with Scope creep seeing as the redirect's up for deletion, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 23:20, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
- Regardless of the attempts to throw in additional pages into the same wp:AfD without notification, can you educate me about the process in general? Thanks in advance, Ottawahitech (talk) 06:18, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

Russian actresses nominations
Hi, most, actually all, Russian and Soviet actresses you've nominated are notable with references available only in Russian. I've been unlucky enough to be born in Soviet Union, so I saw them in movies when I was a teenager. I came across these nominations today, so I am going to add references later today. BTW, it's probably related to the latest changes in access to Russian segment of www. When I search for news or whatever in English I don't see anything, but when I search in Russian, I find plenty. So, I guess, this is the reason yo didn't come across all those references. Arthistorian1977 (talk) 06:53, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Arthistorian1977, I always check before nominating but just couldn't find anything, I guess it doesn't help when I'm relying on my laptop to translate Russian to English which is probably the reason why I wasnt finding anything!, I'll add them later if you want - I nominated them so I should add them really :), Thanks for finding the sources btw, –Davey2010Talk 06:57, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
- The problem with Russian names is that not always automatic translation does proper wording. So, anyway, it's good that you found all these articles, because they are sitting there for years and definetely need cleanup and expanding. Thank you also. Arthistorian1977 (talk) 07:00, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
- Exactly you're spot on - I guess if I spoke Russian sourcing these would be a whole easier , That is true but to be fairWP:AFD is not cleanup , If you wanted to you could list the sources here and I'll add them later, Basically I don't expect you to add them, Thanks again for finding what you have :), I've closed all the AFDs and now I'm going to bed! , –Davey2010Talk 07:31, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

Bus advertising
I finally managed to get the image. Not what I was hoping to click though. I got a brilliant snap back in April, but there was this man pouting in my frame so I couldn't use it. Yesterday, when I clicked, my camera suddenly stopped working, so I ended up using my phone. But, nevertheless, I think I got a good image for now. The bus, operator logo, ad are all clearly visible, so I think it does justice to the article now. :) --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 05:00, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- I was surprised you still remembered , I completely forgot about it and only remembered few days ago, I checked Commons & found nothing but didn't really see the point in saying anything .... and then to my surprised a few days later you change it , That does my head! - You take a perfect image and you get some tool who gets in the way , The image is much much better so thank you for uploading it :) –Davey2010Talk 09:14, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

Page Title
Hi How do you amend a page title on wiki? I'm updating the details about my kids school which has changed name with effect from today. Thanks! Chantrygirl (talk) 07:55, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Chantrygirl, Up the top of the article you have Article - Talk - Read - Edit - View - View History - More - TW,
- If you click move your mouse over more - "Move" will appear below, Click Move,
- In the "To new title" box type the new name and in the reason box put a reason, and click Move :)
- I'm hopefully that's helped but If you're stuck I'll move it for you later if you want, Thanks & Happy editing, –Davey2010Talk 09:21, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

Potential admin?
Hi, I notice you're on Wikipedia:List of administrator hopefuls. Wikipedia would benefit from more admins. If you have been editing for more than 12 months (preferably 24+ months), and have been editing fairly consistently for the past 6 months (preferably 12+ months) with at least 100 edits a month (this tool will help) - or an explanation for any gaps, and haven't been blocked or topic banned in the past three years - or have a good explanation for a recent block or ban, don't have a recent history of edit warring or arguing with other editors, feel you can explain why you wish to be an admin, can demonstrate some understanding of Wikipedia's procedures and processes, or know where to go for guidance, and are confident enough to go through a RfA, please get in touch with me. We can talk about it some more, and if all looks OK, I'll nominate you or suggest what you can do to improve your chances. SilkTork ✔Tea time 10:34, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi SilkTork, Thanks that does mean alot, but unfortunately I get annoyed very easily So I personally think it's best I don't become an Admin, I'm not using this as an excuse but If I were to get annoyed & for instance tell someone to FO - No one would really care as such but If it were to happen as an admin - I'd be dragged to ANI and Hanged, drawn and quartered so to make my life(and others) alot easier I'd prefer just to stay as an editor (and plus I've seen the amount of shit Admins go through and put up with and to be honest I'd rather not go through all that), But anyways thanks for your message - It does mean alot so thanks, Anyway happy editing :), –Davey2010Talk 12:02, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- No worries. If you do sort out your anger issues (I find it helps to type out the nasty message with all the flying fucks, etc, and then gradually edit it down until it's very calm and polite and to the point, and then post that) then get in touch, and we'll go through your contributions to see what chances you have at RfA. Ram Harijan
Did you notice that 2 days after Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ram Harijan was deleted Late-development syndrome was created? Ram Harijan is now a redirect to it. A search on "Late-development syndrome" psychosomatic turns up nothing. Yes, "Late-development syndrome" is a term used in various ways, but the sources don't seem to relate to Harijan's concept. Doug Weller (talk) 08:59, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Garbage picking article renaming
You previously opposed a merger of the garbage picking article. Well, now someone wants to rename the article "dumpster diving" which I feel is not a good idea as it's not inclusive of the various situations discussed in the article. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Garbage_picking#Requested_move_31_August_2015 He already did the renaming once without any consensus. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Garbage_picking#Garbage_Picking_to_Dumpster_Diving_Move.2Frename_should_be_reverted. I thought you might not have seen the requested move and might wish to have your say one way or another. Thanks. Centerone (talk) 16:18, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up - I was completely unaware that it had even been moved!, Cheers, –Davey2010Talk 17:08, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
I just saw this "The result was no consensus. Not gonna lie even I'm a tad confused on the "fancruft" part but whatever, Consensus is to Keep" To me it looks contradictory: "no consensus" vs. "Consensus is to Keep" . I'm slightly befuddled now. Kraxler (talk) 15:26, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
Could you doublecheck your close on this? Your boldfaced close says "no consensus", but your rationale says "consensus is to keep", which IMO is the only possible result given that no one supported the unelaborated nomination. Thanks, postdlf (talk) 15:40, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
- And...it looks like I should've read your talk page before posting this, because Kraxler already raised this same point with you directly above. ; ) postdlf (talk) 15:41, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
- Kraxler, Postdlf - Thank you both for noticing my rather embarrassing closure, I've obviously misclicked somewhere, Should've obviously been Keep sorry , All amended now :) –Davey2010Talk 16:28, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, I've done it before too, in one case deleting when I meant to close as keep. Mobile device editing is dangerous. postdlf (talk) 20:08, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
- Holy shit really ? , Bet that was awkward restoring lol, I've personally never edited with a mobile but have heard it's more easy to fuck up on a mobile than it is with a pc, –Davey2010Talk 20:20, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
Emma Leonard
I'd like to know why you suggested deletion for Emma Leonard's page. I actually can't understand your explanation in the discussion page. Could you tell me the exact reason in a few words? Is she not famous enough, maybe? Also, I want to add that, the Emma Leonard I wrote the page about, is not the one who acted in Home and Away, but the one who acted in Wicked Science. Yes, there are two Australian actresses whose name is Emma Leonard and users in IMDb made a mess, as they considered them as one person and mixed their roles.--Supremo (talk) 11:08, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Raniero Supremo - Yup that was pretty much it - She isn't notable, The AFD shouldn't of even been redirected so you should thank your lucky stars it has :), Thanks & Happy editing, –Davey2010Talk 12:20, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi Dave! Its been long since we talked last, how are you? I want to make an announcement but I can't figure out any other way but to drop a note on few intimate editor's talk page, including you! I appreciate if you can have few minutes to spend on reading this thread on my talk page. If you feel that I deserve a scholarship, I appreciate your endorsement on that thread. - Hi Jim, I know it feels like forever eh, Yeah I'm alright thanks just done the weekly shop (Not fun lol!), How are you ?, I've just read your statement and quite honestly I'd more than happy to Support :) –Davey2010Talk 15:27, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for this AFD close. I was waiting for the nominator to confirm his endorsement. His only comment to me started off "If..." which I did not take as a solid endorsement of my suggestion. In this case it was better to wait than to jump the gun and be wrong. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 17:43, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi davidwr, No worries :), Sorry I didn't mean you or the nom - I actually meant an AFD closer - A few closers patrol the logs so IMHO someone should've closed it sooner but there we go, All done now anyway :), Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 19:28, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
- Well, my intent was to get him to withdraw so I could speedy-close it if nobody beat me to the punch. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 19:43, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
- well judging by his reply he wanted to withdraw and redirect instead so you could've perhaps closed it sooner anyway?, Personally I would've just wrapped it up there and then but meh it's closed at long last so "all's good in the hood" as they say. –Davey2010Talk 20:08, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Hey, I believe that Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Margarete Gallinat should have been simply relisted. With only 2-1 I don't really see clear consensus for keep yet, and it ran only 1 week so extension could help getting additional input.--Staberinde (talk) 15:31, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi Davey2010, Can you take a look at the above. User:Mr.Bob.298 has came along and created this page today. Below it, is the original page. Seems to duplicate a ton of content. I was planning to review it, but it seems to be kind of odd and I don;t even know if it is genuine. Seems to be a genuine editor though.scope_creep (talk) 17:20, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi scope_creep, Personally I'd say the article goes in to more detail whereas Clinton just lists names so personally I'd say the article's fine, However if you believe it should be deleted then you can always AFD it, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 19:09, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
- That's cool. I think it was the fact it only took an hour or two to write it down that cast the doubt. It's now reviewed. scope_creep (talk) 10:08, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- Well I assume he was using the preview button before making it live, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 14:29, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi, I see you reverted my edit. Is it alright to add the rest of the information back as it is all factual and I do not think it breaks any of the criteria? Lucky102 (talk) 22:17, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Lucky102, Your additions were fine bar the persondata :), Could I ask why did you readd it ?, Cheers, –Davey2010Talk 22:22, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- Davey2010, I just added it because I thought most if not all articles should have it. It confused me. May I ask why it doesn't work? Thanks! Lucky102 (talk) 22:24, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- Lucky102, Ah ok :), There was a community discussion about it and for different reasons it was deemed useless on here so was basically deprecated, Some of us remove them as we go but considering there's nearly 5 million articles on this site it's impossible to remove every single "persondata" on here so if you see them just remove them - It'd help alot in the long run :), Thanks & Happy editing, –Davey2010Talk 22:42, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

Keep as meets PORNBIO & GNG - As always this !vote has nothing to do with looks!..... –Davey2010Talk 22:15, 23 September 2015 (UTC) |
- Sorry, but I'm not as amused. This should be renamed the sexist barnstar. More to the point, these keep votes are causing extra work as the non admins relisting debates are taking them seriously, instead of waiting for an admin to come along and ignore your homage to HOTTIE before deleting. AFD really doesn't need the extra work. Spartaz Humbug! 09:07, 29 September 2015 (UTC)

- Because she fails GNG and PORNBIO. And while admins might be able to see through your vote, the discussions are still getting relisted because of them. That's what is causing the extra work. If you can't bring yourself to offer a policy based comment them there is no reason to poison the well. I suppose at this point I should refer you to the second word in my signature. Spartaz Humbug! 11:16, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
- Whether I !vote Keep or Delete the AFD will be relisted anyway - AFDs aren't ever closed on one !vote so whatever I say it'd be relisted - I could say "Keep - I like ponies" and it'd still be relisted , I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this, Meh you're not that bad - There's a few here that are literally the definition of "Buh Humbug" –Davey2010Talk 11:22, 29 September 2015 (UTC)

AfD closures
Hi. Thank you for closing AfDs. When closing as 'Redirect' please remember to include the 'R from X' template on the redirect page so that it adds the correct message and automatically populates the appropriate category. In the case of this page for example , it would be {{R from school}}. I've done it for you this time - take a look. Happy editing! --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 10:14, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
- Kudpung - What would I do with out you eh! , I'm sure this is the 3rd time you've reminded me!, I only ever use "R from" for schools and I rarely close schools these days which is probably it keeps slipping my mind (If I do it more often again I'd probably remember! ), Anyway thanks for the reminder .... I'll probably forget and you'll probably tell me again in a few months . Thanks & Happy editing, –Davey2010Talk 11:11, 29 September 2015 (UTC)

I interpreted your initial !vote as a keep, literally, per your statement, "Keep as meets PORNBIO & GNG". Please consider not being coy about !votes, stating the opposite of your actual opinion. AfD is not a good 'ol boys club where everyone will know when you're joking or not. Thanks for taking this into consideration into the future. Respectfully, North America1000 12:47, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
- Northamerica1000 - Nope you're absolutely right not everyone will know it's a "Hottie" !vote - I know this may sound stupid but I actually assumed everyone knew, I will try and refrain from making them in future and I apologize for the confusion, –Davey2010Talk 13:08, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
Sigs?

File source problem with File:Childline Logo 1998.gif
Thank you for uploading File:Childline Logo 1998.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Steel1943 (talk) 20:14, 19 October 2015 (UTC)

- Wow Davey2010, I didn't realize that I tagged something you uploaded! Yeah, I've been rather quick at tagging these lately, and to just make sure that they don't get overlooked later on due to new uploads going deeper into the Upload Log. (So, I don't have any prejudice on when I tag these, especially since most of the File-namespace WP:CSD criteria have a 2–7 day delay before the deletions can be executed.) Ha, you know that I know you know what you are doing! Steel1943 (talk) 20:24, 19 October 2015 (UTC)

AfD closure
Your closure of Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Whataboutism is incorrect. Consensus isn't a voting contest. Consensus is based on arguments presented. Not a single one of those who voted to keep article actually addressed the fact that article breaks rule on neologisms. Furthermore, that article was marked with neologism template several times in the past (and template was silently removed later on without proper discussion) by different editors, who had no chance to express their opinion in AfD discussion. You didn't also seems to take into account that there are grounds to believe that wikipedia is being used to promote this neologism and so there is going to be plenty of resistance, considering how politically charged it is. If you don't understand neologism rule (and it's quite important in a lot of editors eyes as it was proposed to be grounds for speedy deletion in the past), then let somebody else deal with AfD. Niyaro (talk) 14:16, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
With the greatest of respect I've been doing AFD !voting & closing for roughly a year or 2 so I think I know more about it than you, I did close it on consensus.... I don't think I've ever closed a discussion just based on numbers, I honestly cannot see how it could've been closed any other way? ...., The community doesn't take to kindly to promotional crap here and we certainly don't try and promote anything, Anyway I won't be reopening as it's an obvious Keep so if you disagree you'll have to visit WP:DRV, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 14:41, 21 October 2015 (UTC)- Done - Reopened and relisted - Looking at the AFD some of the !votes are pretty weak, I still think it's a keep but going to DRV would just be a waste of everyones time so to save all that shit it's reopened and now listed on todays AFD log, Cheers, –Davey2010Talk 15:08, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- Niyaro - Aaaaaand I've reclosed it again, Since your comment a few more Keeps have come, Admittingly the NEO side hasn't been address but either way it's an obvious Keep so no point dragging the AFD on just for the sake of it, If you have an issue you'll need to visit DRV, Thanks. –Davey2010Talk 11:52, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

Under WP:BLP, being unsourced when nominated is definitely a concern, but considering WP:ANYBIO and WP:ENT the nominator could certainly added a source or two himself. Schmidt, Michael Q. 15:34, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi MichaelQSchmidt - I 100% agree it is but stating "Unreferenced" indicates BEFORE wasn't followed, I mean if they expanded on it I wouldn't of speedied it, If they want it to be referenced they can search and add the sources themselves, Or anyone can renominate it , Cheers, –Davey2010Talk 15:42, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

- To be fair it does state it all at the AFD mainpage so how it escapes everyone I never know, Guess it's just pure laziness, Anyway thanks for your message, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 16:35, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Atit Shah
Hi Davey2010. I was looking over the November 1 AfD log, and I stumbled upon your closure of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Atit Shah. It appears you may have botched the redirect. I think what happened was you meant to copy-paste the redirect target, but accidentally copied the text of the whole AfD discussion instead. All the best, Mz7 (talk) 04:26, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
- Per your note at the top of your user talk page, I've just reversed the closure. I'll leave it to you or someone else to re-close it. Cheers, Mz7 (talk) 04:39, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Mz7 - Thanks so much for spotting that!, You're right I was meant to have copied & pasted the film titled so lord knows what hell went wrong , I've reclosed it & hopefully correctly this time , Thanks again :), –Davey2010Talk 04:48, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
- No worries! We all have the right to screw up every now and then. However, I believe the following is in order:

How do you count the number of NAC's performed? This doesn't seem to work on my computer or phone for some reasons. Best, Yash! 17:52, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

TAFI talk
- Hello Davey2010:
- You are invited to participate in this discussion at the TAFI talk page regarding improving the automation of project processes and management of the project. Your input is appreciated.
I'd like you to please review this AfD regarding the article Norman Milliken.
During that AfD, the "keep" comments were made because the settlement called "Milliken" was assumed to have been named after Norman Milliken; a dubious claim made by the article's creator User:Unionville. Careful research--conducted after the second AfD had closed--shows that this claim is not true. I have outlined my reasons for this here.
Nonetheless, it was that dubious claim which galvanized the "keep" supporters in the second AfD. In their eye, having a settlement named after you would therefore give you notability on Wikipedia. For example:
- User:Unionville wrote: "the settlement named after its founder is notable, ergo, he is notable".
- User:DGG wrote: "if a town -- even a hamlet -- was named after him, he's notable".
- User:Johnrpenner wrote: "it is useful to know for whom a place is named".
Knowing now that the town likely wasn't named after him, this would surely have swayed the votes.
Furthermore, the article's creator, User:Unionville, clearly attempted to WP:VOTESTACK throughout the AfD with the following edits:
- He contacted User talk:Раціональне анархіст here to notify them of the AfD, and to state: "You judged the article as amended as a keep...this should be a speedy keep."
- He contacted User talk:DGG here to notify them of the AfD, and to state: "you reviewed the discussion and judged the article as amended as a keep".
- He contacted User talk:Coffee here to notify them of the AfD, and to state: "You reviewed the discussion and judged the article as amended as a keep...this should be a speedy keep".
In light of these facts, I would appreciate that the AfD be reopened. Thank you for your consideration. Magnolia677 (talk) 23:59, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Magnolia677, To be totally honest when I closed it I wondered if it was the wisest thing to do! , Well in light of the canvassing / your note on the TP, (and plus you asked nicely ) I'll reopen and relist it for you :), See I can be nice haha! :), Thanks for asking first! :), Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 00:12, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

About your revert on Ford Mondeo
Hi Davey2010,
Regarding your revert of my image. The image of the front view was better quality, unlike the other one which was really wedged in with the distracting line. I made an edit on my one that included editing out the shadows.
Have a look at *File:2015 Ford Mondeo (MD) Ambiente station wagon (2015-11-14) 01.jpg and please tell me why this image was not good quality.
I will not edit the image back unless you tell me why the other image was better. Also notably the rear view of the car was low quality and I intended to replace the image back.
Thankyou --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 06:09, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
- Well shit I just posted on the talkpage , Hi EurovisionNim,
- To me this image is way too bright and to be really honest it looks awful (Sorry I've realized your the photographer of the vehicle), To be fair there's pros and cons with both but overall IMHO the first looks much much better,
- Weirdly enough the only thing I find distracting in the first image is the blue cars headlight ,
- To be honest I've had screen-brightness issues with the laptop so maybe my eyes are fucked for the night!, I'll revert for now as to be fair it could all just be my eyes , Oh I love creating so much shit! , Sorry dude!, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 06:11, 15 November 2015 (UTC)

- EurovisionNim - So you're offended by the words "fucked" and "shit" .... Do me a favour and fuck off!. –Davey2010Talk 06:28, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
- EurovisionNim - Before you haul my arse to ANI and start crying I would like to point 2 things out - 1) I swear all the time and so I do try & keep it to a minimum on here, 2) The whole context above was me having a bit of a laugh.... we wasn't arguing and until now I wasn't pissed off so how you're "offended" I'll never know, Considering I self reverted on both articles the last thing I expected was the whole "there will be consequences for your language" bollocks but anywho I have some advice for you - Get a sense of humour and learn to have a laugh for fucksake!, Now kindly stay the hell off this page. –Davey2010Talk 06:38, 15 November 2015 (UTC)

Essentially you closing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Raidió Fáilte was a withdrawn nominate and I think inappropriate based on WP:NACD where it says: The sole exception is if you are closing your own withdrawn nomination as a speedy keep and all other viewpoints expressed were for keep as well. Well all the other views were not for a keep so as the nominator and discussion participant I think you should have let someone else close it. ww2censor (talk) 22:44, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
- The entire discussion had gone around in circles and to be honest I didn't see the point in letting the discussion carry on for another week, It was the shittiest close I've done to date but I essentially followed IAR, You disagree with it and so do I but it is what it is, The way I saw it was the article's not going to be deleted and leaving it open for another week meant more arguements, disagreements and to a certain point timewasting and so I figured all our times would be better spent improving the encyclopedia than having a week of arguements and filling up the entire AFD (As if it's not big enough! ), Had I had faith in it being deleted I would obviously have never have closed it, Thanks for your message, –Davey2010Talk 23:32, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
Bot automation at Wikipedia:Today's articles for improvement
Greetings WikiProject TAFI members!
Over the past two weeks, there has been extensive discussion on introducing bot automation to assist with maintenance of the Today's Articles for Improvement project. A bot has now been approved for trial and will carry out the weekly duties. The bots first run will occur around 00:00, 22 November 2015 (UTC) (midnight on Sunday).
If you have been assisting any of the weekly maintenance tasks, please refrain from doing so this week. The bot needs to be tested and proven it can do the job, and it only gets one chance per week. The tasks will include:
- Adding the new scheduled article to Wikipedia talk:Today's articles for improvement and removing the entry from Wikipedia:Articles for improvement
- Set up the schedule pages for the new TAFI, except the adding of an image and caption
- Adding {{TAFI}} to the new article for improvement, remove {{TAFI}} from last week's article and add {{Former TAFI}} to the talk page
- Notify relevant WikiProjects that the new TAFI is within their scope
- Send a mass message to everyone on the notification list of the new TAFI selection
Updating the accomplishments and archiving selections is still done manually, along with daily tasks such as adding approved entries to the articles for improvement page. These will become automated in the near future.
We hope the bot proves to serve well, and by carrying out the routine housekeeping tasks we can boost the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the project. MusikBot thanks you for your service in helping with the weekly tasks in the past, and for your cooperation during this trial period :)

B roads
Hi Davey
I do not think you should have closed a discussion which you had yourself started. Just withdrawing the nomination would have been the right thing to do. The discussion had not been going long and I do not see any clear consensus to keep all of the stubs, if any. Non-admins should only close where the outcome is clear and there has been adequate time for editors to find it. We now have a bunch of B road stubs tagged as having been kept at AfD when some of them should probably be deleted. Just my view. Have a good day:)Charles (talk) 09:48, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Charles, I can't withdraw as you !voted Delete (If there's a delete vote then you can't withdraw), I'd love for them all to be deleted but I don't think it's gonna happen and to be fair it does sound a better idea to nominate individually but not gonna war over it, Thanks & you have a nice day too :) –Davey2010Talk 13:22, 24 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. I admire folks who can change their minds, like I've had to do many times myself here in Wikipedia. It reflects a state of open-mindedness and wisdom. So kudos to you!--Tomwsulcer (talk) 02:26, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks Tomwsulcer - The amount of times I've seen AFDs where good sources have been listed and still the nominator wants it gone!, If the sources are fine I do withdraw (regardless of !votes) but if they're just mentions I tend not to so I guess today was a lucky day , Thanks for finding the sources :), Thanks and Have a nice day :), –Davey2010Talk 02:32, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Help
I seek your help in deletion discussion of Ali Shanawar please. Nannadeem (talk) 19:00, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
- Nannadeem - The article's already up for deletion so I'm not really sure what help you need ?.... –Davey2010Talk 19:09, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
- You mean the page will be deleted. Nannadeem (talk) 19:12, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
- The page will be deleted if there's enough Delete !votes but if people !vote Keep it'll be kept (and before you get any ideas creating a few accounts and !voting delete with them won't get it deleted and instead would mean you'll be blocked indefinitely and the article would be kept). –Davey2010Talk 19:21, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
- Ok. Thanks. But I am attempting to save the page openly and none is here to help me because no users from the concerned community and the subject poetry (writing and reading) is here. I know the notability and genre so trying to save the page from deletion. Thank you very much for the great help you extended to me. Nannadeem (talk) 19:30, 5 December 2015 (UTC)

My edit was adding factual useful information, if anything the user who revert it are the disruptive personnel they have removed several pieces that other users have added. Conversation on WP:CHU/U
Hello Davey2010. May I kindly ask that you refrain from conducting extensive or heated discussions on the changing username pages, and carry out any user-to-user discussions on your or the other user's user talk page? A bureaucrat has, in the past, commented that these discussions unnecessarily clutter up the page and are detrimental. Thanks, —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 00:59, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
- Hi K6ka - Nope I admit I should've let the arguement drop, Problem is I left him a warning back in July which in some respects was ignored so in this case I wasn't really left with any other choice but to question him at CHUU, Anyway I've collapsed the discussion to make life easier for everyone . –Davey2010Talk 01:35, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

Data format at Bethany Mota
Hi there. I wanted to explain my recent revert at Bethany Mota. I guess it's kind of annoying to some editors, but I prefer using ISO 8601 date format. It's faster for me to type, it avoids the whole American/European date format wars, and it takes up less space in citations. It's a bit frustrating to see people come in with scripts and change date format in articles with no discussion on the talk page. The worst part is that they always cite MOS:DATEFORMAT, which specifically allows ISO 8601 dates. On the same guideline, a little bit after that paragraph, it says in WP:DATERET not to change date formats without discussion. I admit it's silly to argue over the date format used in citations, but it's become a pet peeve of mine to have intentionally chosen formatting changed without discussion. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 02:44, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, I disagree - I believe using DMY/MDY is better and quite honestly is far more understandable to everyone .... But I've read the numerous discussions and I know there's not actual consensus to use DMY/MDY so edit warring would be utterly stupid, I've also just noticed you reverted on the 12th of Dec [5] saying "Restore original date format. Bullying is already covered in the next section" - Umm I wasn't bullying tho?, Either way if I've changed the dateformat twice unknowingly in the space of a year then It'll probably get changed again soon! (I can't keep track of every article where someone has an issue unfortunately ). –Davey2010Talk 09:05, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
- Someone else added a bit about how Bethany Mota was bullied in her teen years. However, this is already covered in the next section, which makes that edit redundant. That's what I was referring to; sorry about the ambiguity. If someone said that you're a bully, I'd question their sanity. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 11:38, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
- NinjaRobotPirate - Yeah I just realized sorry!, I had just woken up then so wasn't all with it, Anyway Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year :) –Davey2010Talk 13:45, 21 December 2015 (UTC)

Merging at AfDs
Heyo Dave, how are you? I remember reading somewhere that according to *some shortcut* AfDs can be initiated with the rationale of merging. Does my memory serve me right or did I confuse one thing with the other. I saw an AfD today where the participants were demanding a "procedural close" cause the nominator's arguments were for a merger. I remember someone pointing to the policy where something like that was written maybe and I am unable to find it. Let me know if that is true or if I am just looking stupid right now. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May the force be with you... Yash! 04:22, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
- Morning Yash! - I know it's rather confusing!, From what I can gather - If the nominator wants a full on Merge then the community usually think it's best to close the AFD and the nominatior should start a discussion on the talkpage instead, If a nominator puts "Fails X and X, Perhaps Merge is best?" then that's fine as they're merely suggesting it :) .... I've just woke up so I doubt I'd made any sense ,
- Thanks and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too :) –Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 09:18, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
- Got it! I was talking about this - the former applies here. Anyways, do you know if the latter is written somewhere in the guidelines? Yash! 12:27, 22 December 2015 (UTC)

AfD on Chinese topics
- Going to be completely honest I can't read Chinese at all but neither can any closer here
...That's because the few of us AfD closers who can also read Chinese have found ourselves in such a rare stead that we want to comment in the AfD rather than wait for the chance to close them! I wish there are more of us. Deryck C. 14:27, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
- Deryck Chan - Oh crap I'm so sorry!, Unfortunately tho it is true most closers here can't read Chinese so I figured I may aswell save time and close it, (With any language my laptop can translate it but with Chinese/Korean it just messes it all up :( ), Sorry I've offended you, Have a great Xmas & New Year :) –Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 14:41, 22 December 2015 (UTC)

- I'm sure they will. That, my dear Davey, is about as inevitable as the day is long. But my policy has not changed; if someone behaves like a twat, I shall tell them so. But in the meantime, and in between blocks, one might guess, I have a pesky actor cluttering up my sandbox. Best wishes! CassiantoTalk 20:51, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

Reece Buttery
Evening you edited a page in the above name and now it redirects you to The Dumping Ground page, are you unable to undo this and leave the Reece Buttery page as it was Zebadeeboing (talk) 20:08, 26 December 2015 (UTC)
Evening, Sorry I'm about to bugger off for roughly 40 minutes, I have a feeling he wasn't notable so thus it was redirected, I'll have a better look later sorry, Cheers, Dave. 20:52 26/12/15
- Good Morning Zebadeeboing , Sorry about that I ended up forgetting about your post, I redirected the article as it had only one source which was poor and seeing as I couldn't find anything I thought It was better to Redirect instead of AFD'ing it, Have you found anything source wise ?, I'd be happy to undo the redirect providing sources are okay, Thanks, –Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 01:17, 27 December 2015 (UTC)
- Hi sorry I am no good at editing etc on here, I am Reece's dad and he is an actor and doesn't want to just be linked to one show, He played Ben in the BBC film Gangsta Granny, was in Holby ep Kids stuff, if you google his name loads of links come up but I have no clue on how to put them on here, sorry, it wasn't be that created his page but once it was there it was good to see people adding to it as his career progresses — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zebadeeboing (talk • contribs) 20:30, 27 December 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, Sorry but he's not notable enough for an article, The only available stuff are mentions which unfortunately aren't good enough for an article, BTW you may want to read WP:COI, Thanks, –Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 20:37, 27 December 2015 (UTC)

- Cullen328 - God damnit everyone's nicked my template this year , Next year I'll make it horrid , Na it's a lovely card thank you :), It's strange to think how life would've been so so different in 1885!, I'd imagine it involved alot less twerking and alot more hammertime!, Anyway thanks and I wish you and your family a brilliant New Year :) (Don't worry I'll spam the shit out of everyone tomorrow!). –Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 23:36, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
WP:PERM Request
Hello Davey2010. Your account has been granted the "file mover" user right, either following a request for it or due to a clear need for for the ability to move files. Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:File mover for more information on this user right and under what circumstances it is okay to move files. When you move a file please remember to update any links to the new name as well! If you do not want the file mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. - Oh yeees!, That is beautiful, Next year I'll wipe the userpage and just have that! . –Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 23:48, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
- That would be a kick D. It'd also be funny if - after an article has been deleted per WP:TNT - that file popped up instead of the "A page with this title has previously been deleted" message. OTOH not everyone would appreciate the humor and the whole thing would probably wind up as an ANI dramha thread. Enjoy the remaining hours of 2015!! MarnetteD|Talk 00:18, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
