Sir, one editor Avinash Vats continues to revert my edits and he is citing Raj era sources like BrahmanUtpatti darpan and British Raj sources, they are all unreliable. He is involved in editing war and doing disruptive editing and vandalism on Tyagi page.Marvel200 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 04:52, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

Salamun44
[edit]Hi! You've just blocked Salamun44 for block evasion. Who is the sockmaster here? – Uanfala (talk) 01:03, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- I'd actually like to know, too. I just blocked ChampeonZekz as a sock of Salamun44 and tagged them both as if Salamun44 is the master, but if there is an earlier account, it'd be useful to sort out the tagging. Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:56, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

Both ChampeonZekz and Salamun44, as well as Semonlee, still need to be properly tagged as suspected sockpuppets of SajidMir2, so they appear in Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of SajidMir2. I don't know how to do this, and I'm not even sure if I can do so as a non-admin (?), so I'm asking you. Thanks! ☿ Apaugasma (talk ☉) 17:35, 23 August 2021 (UTC)

Highest peak of eastern ghat
[edit]Please undo the deletion of other two names of the highest peak of eastern ghat including the most common one. It is not unsourced as it was hyperlinked with the another wikipedia article Aramakonda where height is also mentioned correctly 1680 m. Eastern Ghat does not pass through West Bengal - you may search google and see map even West Bengal is not mentioned in the main part of this article but wrongly written in the summary. So it is clear that the article is contradictory due to wrongly written West Bengal in the summary but not written rightly in the main article Poorva12303 (talk) 18:55, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

[edit]I appreciate what you did with the block however you made a mistake by only having the range not edit on Almost Naked Animals and just Almost Naked. As a result the range is still block evading. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/2A02:C7F:1438:A300:0:0:0:0/64 One last thing to note, if the range is blocked from editing the pages your blocked it from doing then the user will have to go to other pages and the same problem will still go one.

Iraqi Armed Forces
[edit]Hello. I am deeply sorry to bother you and to take your time. I have one question. Could you do the same type of article protection to the Iraqi Armed Forces as you did at the Iraqi Army? That page is also under constant abuse of one permanent sock user ShkoDevAct (talk · contribs) and now I suspect that same user use IPs to edit, mostly to put back that sock content (many of that just unsourced, and some just pure vandalism). Pratapaditya
[edit]Probably wise to install ECP under ARBIPA. See recent eds. TrangaBellam (talk) 17:59, 9 September 2021 (UTC) @Yamaguchi先生:I do not belong to either the caste or creed identity of Pratpaditya, It is very deliberate of TrangaBellam as she effectively reduced a page to an informed one which selectively quotes an author who is not an expert on Pratpaditya and there are many writters who have written about the multiple wars he fought. If neutrality and fairness is not on display by the senior users, then the incentive to be truthful decreases . I sincerely request you to return the page to a semi protected page as I am willing to give proper citations without deliberations or exagerrations.

Changed a /32 partial block to sitewide
[edit]Hello Yamaguchi. Per this sequence of events and a complaint at WP:AIV I found that that your partial block was not holding back the tide, so I extended it to sitewide, with the same expiry on December 8. If you think this is excessive, please adjust as you prefer. Also leaving a ping for the original blocker, User:NinjaRobotPirate. If you view the range contributions and search for the word 'current' you'll probably see that fewer than 20% of that range's edits are still top-of-trunk. Which suggests there is little collateral. (Regular editors have undone most of their changes). Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 15:43, 20 September 2021 (UTC)

About edit war
[edit]Dear Yamaguchi先生, I'm sure you've noticed that editing wars often occur in areas where you and I share a common interest. This area has not had any information added to it due to an editing war, and even important pages remain stubbed out. My suggestion is to remove the extended confirmed users rights of those who are in an edit war, and to do extended confirmed protection for pages that are in the edit war. Best regards, --Freetrashbox (talk) 21:32, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hello Freetrashbox, thank you for this suggestion! I will take this into consideration when protecting articles due to ongoing edit disputes. Regards, Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 21:58, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
As I see it, for articles belonging to a certain field on English Wikipedia, it is ultimately advantageous to use the latest version as his(her) preferred description. This is because the longer he keep the latest version of the article edited to his liking, the more likely it is that his preferred description will remain when the article is protected. Especially when the opponent is a non-confirmed user, the confirmed user will win if the article will be semi-protected. This is like promoting an editing war. In my opinion, it is effective to mechanically revert an article once and then protect it, instead of protecting it in the version where the editing battle occurred. And to show that the administrator does not endorse the reverted version, the summary should say that it was mechanically reverted due to an editing war. Then editors will try to refrain from hasty revert, hoping that the article will be fixed in their preferred edition. Of course, that alone won't solve the problem, but I think it's important to create a system that puts him at a disadvantage if he joins an editing war.--Freetrashbox (talk) 00:12, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

How we will see unregistered users
[edit]Hi!
You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.
When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.
If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.
We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.
Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

122.161.0.0/16
[edit]Going by the block log and CU log, there are a lot of socks on Special:Contributions/122.161.0.0/16. That said, it seems unlikely to me that you'd need to block the entire /16. From what I can tell, people tend to stay within a /20 or /21. There are some logged-in accounts that have made 150+ edits over the course of a month, all within the same /20. If you blocked individual /20s, that would probably be better. You should also consider changing the block reason to {{rangeblock}} so that people get more relevant information about appealing range blocks. Newer users in particular tend to be very confused by range blocks. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 18:58, 11 January 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Yamaguchi. Hope yourself and your near and dear are doing well.
I edit as NYCLover2016, but am unable to log in as I am restricted to my smartphone as of now, and have reached out to you before. In the last few months two users you banned namely Kambliyil/Boschanot are back to doing what they were for which they were suspended as ips. They are relentlessly active on pages pertaining to the state of Kerala in South India. Eg Kannur and Kannur district. There are many others you will find. The ip is 150.129.101.74.
I am sorry I am not logged in. Since you had suspended them both for this very reason I request you. These edits are propagandist and done with malicious intention. All that is secondary though. Primarily its a fact that what they are putting in is wrong info.117.194.105.65 (talk) 13:50, 14 April 2022 (UTC)

Sock account indefinitely blocked, but still active on wiki platforms
[edit]Hello, I wanted to enquire that if an account is found as a Sockpuppet account after SPI, than that account is blocked just on the platform where the SPI was conducted or across wiki platforms? I came across a sock puppet account which is indefinitely blocked User_talk:Hind_ji and its request to unblock is rejected multiple times, but this account is still active and editing in similar disruptive manner in Hindi Wikipedia. I have checked the Wikipedia:Blocking_policy, but it is not clear that this block is applicable across wiki platforms or just on English Wikipedia. Can you please help to confirm how this indefinite block is implemented on wikipedia platforms? Thanks. History quester (talk) 07:47, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) I'm not an admin, but my understanding is that for small-scale sockpuppetry, blocks are limited to the specific project where it was done. See mw:Sock puppetry which says
Generally the issue of sockpuppetry is a local issue to be managed by each community
. It also says that if an account is disruptive in multiple projects, a global lock at meta can be requested. Hemantha (talk) 04:56, 5 May 2022 (UTC)

POV editing by user(s)
[edit]Hi, it is regarding POV editors (this user particularly) in this article, as well as similar changes, mostly removal of long standing sourced content without any consensus and possible addition of SYNTH here. I believe some sock/meat puppetry is going on as well. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:00, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you Fylindfotberserk, I've left a discretionary sanctions notification for that user and will continue to watch these articles. The Kamboj page does have its share of disruptive editing, misinformation, circular sources, et cetera. I am also pinging @Sitush:, in the event they would like to review these articles for accuracy as well, as they have a much keener eye than I do. My hope is that the current page protection will reduce some of these issues, and if you see any clear evidence of socking please let me know and/or share an WP:SPI report. [edit]Hi, I request please not to simply blame that my edit is not constructive. I just added a source for Sananth being a part of Mahaan (2022 film) film in the page Sananth. I don’t understand why whenever I add some soure or some information they are reverting it and mentioning that they are non constructive. I have come to contribute to Wikipedia not for vandalizing. Please don’t unnecessarily block me from editing. Otherwise my whole contributions will be gone. If I made a mistake I feel it’s better to correct. I know there are bad editors who vandalize Wikipedia but then there are also some good editors some of them may be innocent also who wants to contribute towards Wikipedia. 109.177.10.208 (talk) 18:16, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hello 109.177.10.208, thank you for contacting me. With respect to this edit, it was reverted because it does not appear to corroborate the preceding claims. Those claims include: this film was a third collaboration with Karthik Subbaraj, that the role is "important", and that it was released on Amazon Prime to "generally positive reviews". The Twitter link provided appears to confirm none of this and was thus removed. Is there a better source available, one that is reliable/independent and confirms any of these claims? If not, this paragraph should be pruned to only that which is verifiable. Regards, Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 18:27, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
Don’t worry I have added a source from Times of India which is mentioned about the film’s review and also the cast members and their characters. 109.177.10.208 (talk) 18:33, 8 July 2022 (UTC)

Ash'ari
[edit]Dear Yamaguchi先生, I hope you are fine. I am finding it difficult to manage the edits on the Ash'ari page by User:Ahsanimtiaz53. He repeatedly deletes a paragraph that he dislikes, even though it is referenced, and becomes abusive when I restore it. He says the paragraph is "untrue". Please see the nasty dialogue on my talk page User_talk:GorgeCustersSabre#You_are_a_Dajjal. He calls me a liar, a donkey, and an antichrist ("dajjal"). On his own talk page User talk:Ahsanimtiaz53 I have politely explained that Wikipedia works on ”verifiability, not truth” as a guiding principle, and I have posted links to policies on verifiability and the need to maintain a neutral tone. I don't want to get into an edit war with him or her. I don't want to break the three-revert rule. Can you please take a look. Thanks so much. George Custer's Sabre (talk) 11:38, 2 August 2022 (UTC)

Aditi Deshmukh
[edit]Hey Admin!
I recently contributed to Aditi Deshmukh's page, but it seems like you were not satisfied with my edits. Please guide me. The birth date is visible on https://nettv4u.com/celebrity/hindi/tv-actress/aditi-pratap and https://www.celebrityborn.com/biography/aditi-pratap/11127. For the rest, similar references were published. They come from regional publications with editorial insights. Please check.Livingtrees (talk) 15:03, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hello Livingtrees, thank you for your question. With respect to NetTV4U, it does not validate the birth year of 1976. It is also unclear who at NetTV4U published this biography, or where they sourced their details. The other website, celebrityborn.com, similarly does not cite any birth year. It appears to be a run-of-the-mill celebrity wiki website, and not something to be used as a WP:BLP source for Wikipedia articles. When adding new references, please take care to introduce those which are reliable, independent, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy.
- May I ask, where did you obtain 1976 as the year of birth for this individual? It does not appear on the websites mentioned above. Regards, Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 17:50, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hello Yamaguchi先生, there are regional and local language sources available that states the birth year. Will they work? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Livingtrees (talk • contribs) 10:32, 5 August 2022 (UTC)
- It is not possible to answer this question without knowing which references you are referring to. Would you please share these sources to the respective article talk page for consideration? Regards, Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 18:40, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

I'm aware that with an actual account a short sitewide block will undo a long partial,[3] but surely not a rangeblock where the ranges are of different size? Or? Did I screw up? Bishonen | tålk 08:39, 6 August 2022 (UTC).
- Hello Bishonen, this is something that I have actually been wondering myself! I am so sorry, I don't know what happens when there are two overlapping rangeblocks with different block terms. I would expect that after the shorter block expires, the terms of the active longer block will resume, but not sure when what happens when say a sitewide block and partial block are simultaneously active during the overlap period. If you find the answer, would you please let me know as well? Regards, Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 18:35, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
Regarding the Rukidi III article
[edit]That article which you have removed was edited after making my findings, the king had 5 wives and 27 children of these children are the ones who were born to Omugo Evelyn Kahinju who gave birth to the king's first son Prince Stephen Edgar Karamagi. Omugo Evelyn Kahinju who is referred to as Omugo wa harukoto had the following children with the king; Prince Stephen Edgar Karamagi, p Prince Basil Mirembe, Princess Getrude Kabege, Prince Gerald Philip Manyindo and Prince Apollo Lyod Mugema. Now the wikipedia article on which I have information which you should have investigated before deleting has information lacking on all his offspring Ug culture (talk) 10:19, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
Regarding the Juliana Kanyomozi article
[edit]The first thing you see on the profile is her parents are Prince Gerald Philip Manyindo and her mother is Catherine Manyindo
In regards to her grand father, she is fathered by the Rukidi III's son Prince Gerald Manyindo Ug culture (talk) 10:37, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
Regarding your removed citation for Eagle Colorado Airport aka Vail Colorado airport
[edit]Hi there, I just received a message that you have removed my citation for Eagle County airport (EGE); for what purpose? I am a long time Vail resident, we refer to Eagle airport as "Vail Colorado Airport", "Vail Regional Airport: etc. the Wikipedia entry did not list these facts. I cited an informative article that details this information. There is no commercial intent behind either the citation, nor the article. Please feel free to visit the referenced article and read it in full. All it outlines is information about "Vail Colorado Airport". I would highly appreciate it if you revert your edit, as people looking up "Eagle Airport" should also be aware that it's commonly referred to as "Vail Colorado Airport" and "Vail Colorado Regional Airport". Again, being a longtime Vail resident, I am privy to such information - and was under the impression that Wikipedia was to be a crowd-sourced information hub relying on individuals who have first hand knowledge and ability to share that knowledge with the rest of the world.
Thank you for you consideration. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nikita Beriozkin (talk • contribs) 19:24, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Nikita Beriozkin. I wanted to take a moment to make a correction as there appears to be a misunderstanding. Yes, Wikipedia is a crowd-sourced encyclopedia. It is not necessarily built by those with first hand knowledge, rather the content is built from reliable, published sources which meet Wikipedia:Verifiability policy. There is no requirement that the content be submitted by someone with first hand knowledge. The concern is that the majority of the citations you have included are actually external links to commercial websites. This includes attribution to: Moser Aviation Private Air Charter, Blue Sky Limo transport shuttles, and Arriesgado on-line clothing store, et cetera. These are not encyclopedic sources and adding them to Wikipedia articles may be construed as a form of covert advertising, even if that was not your intent. Please see WP:REPUTABLE and the Wikipedia:Reliable sources guideline in full for details, and note the emphasis on secondary sources where possible. [edit]Hello, Yamaguchi先生! Hope you are having a good day. - Hi Yamaguchi先生, I hope you are well. I see that you are not online at the moment, but if/when you see this, don’t reply as my email has broken because the service I was using is useless. You may not even need to reply but if you did want to say anything, just leave it here (without revealing too much about what I shared with you), and I will see it. The situation may be too old to handle at this point anyway. Again, hope you are well and hope you see you back soon! :) Blanchey (talk) 07:59, 14 October 2022 (UTC)

- Hey, no worries. Good to see you back. I fixed my email, so I have re-sent it. You might reply here if you didn’t feel comfortable sharing your email with me, although it was quite a private thing regarding a problematic editor, and don’t want to look like I’m assuming bad faith by reporting them, hence why I came to you. Thanks, Blanchey (talk) 20:31, 27 October 2022 (UTC)

- Hello, Yamaguchi先生,
- I hope you are well. I wanted to add something to this discussion, unfortunately my email is not working again (not letting me receive or send mail) so I have just deleted the account, I will get round to creating a new email for my wikipedia account soon, but in the meantime, I am only available here. I don’t know if you saw the email, just that you had confirmed receipt, and that you’d have a look, which could have meant that you hadn’t read it yet. So if not, basically, it was regarding a user (who has been editing for several years) who had issues following basic policies, and never listened when told, and I was wondering if, when you took a look, you’d consider indefinitely blocking them. The reason I didn’t take this to AIV, and came to you specifically, is because I noticed that you had recently indefinitely blocked an unrelated user, who had similar issues, and just thought that because you took such serious action against this user, you’d be willing to do it again. The issue is stale now, as it took place back in September, and the user in question has somewhat improved their editing, which helps us a lot. I won’t name them publicly, because that could be seen as a personal attack, although if they cause any more trouble, I will just take them to the notice board, and suggest an indefinite block to whoever reviews it. Thank you very much, and I hope you are keeping well! Kind regards, Blanchey (talk) 21:47, 11 November 2022 (UTC)

Please revert changes on the page “Gakhars”
[edit]Another version of the surname “Gakhar“ is also “Gakkhar”. I am also a Hindu along with my parents and grandparents. There are STILL Hindu Gakkhars and my passport can be evidence. The story on Hindu Gakkhars has not truely been recorded as back during the war it was illegal to be a Hindu in what’s now called Pakistan and if you refused to convert to Islam you were brutally murdered. My claim can only be backed up with my passport as evidence and ancestral stories as our side of the war was forbidden to be recorded in books, but I need this information to be out there so the suffering of Hindu Gakkhars can be heard. Just people knowing Hindu Gakkhars are still alive is enough. Thank you. 168.167.81.172 (talk) 20:36, 7 January 2023 (UTC)

Inquiry about an edit revertion in Płock
[edit]Hello, a few days ago I reverted an edit in Płock and you reverted my revertion. The edit I reverted was an obvious vandaliztion attempt that removed a section of the article in the name of a "countryball war". The user that did the edit has been tempbanned before (for the exact same thing!) but after the block got lifted they literally said (in their talk page) that they're ready to vandalize again. I'm writing to you because I don't want to just mindlessly revert your edit, as that would just lead to my edit being reverted again. Can you please revert your edit on the page and ideally put some sort of protection on it? Thanks. 217.28.145.225 (talk) 11:35, 3 April 2023 (UTC)

[edit][6] You're in it, if you haven't seen it. FYI-ping to @Haoreima. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 17:16, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you Gråbergs Gråa Sång for contacting me, I appreciate your note. These articles fall under Wikipedia:General sanctions/South Asian social groups and a review of the page history for many of them will quickly illustrate as to why. The opinion piece by Tonsing demonstrates a gross misunderstanding of Wikipedia and makes a number of unsubstantiated claims while looking to fit some sort of narrative. As a general topic, this is a subject matter that I am disinterested in- rather my concern is that we only present content which is verifiable through reliable sources and adheres to our core content policies. If this author or any other party would like to make meaningful changes on Wikipedia, they are always welcome to discuss their concerns on the respective article talk page, however they should be prepared to be able to cite relevant sources to support their arguments as we cannot host original research. Case of constant vandalism
[edit]Hi
Ever since the Page protection was removed in April 2022, this page has been under a constant barrage of vandalism where anonymous accounts and new accounts routinely vandalise the page. This is the page:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lughaya
Could extended user protection be provided to this page?
This is another related page that needs some protection aswell:

Would really appreciate if you could have a look.

Raj era sources
[edit]Hi @Yamaguchi先生! An editor Sir Calculus has been repeatedly adding outdated colonial sources, insisting that it does not violate any WP policy. Can you please look into their edits history (especially regarding Kulachi (tribe), Sanjrani, Magsi and Daudpotra)? Thanks! Sutyarashi (talk) 10:10, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
- Greetings @Yamaguchi先生,
- I hope this message finds you well. I would like to draw your attention to the history of @Sutyarashi, as there appears to be a concern regarding a potential bias towards a specific group. I believe it is important to consider this factor when evaluating the edits made by this user.
- In addition to including "colonial sources," I made sure to incorporate native sources as well. Surprisingly, @Sutyarashi has expressed dissatisfaction not only with the colonial sources but also with the native ones. Rather than removing solely the "colonial source," the user reverts the entire article, which I find concerning.
- I would like to emphasize that the sources I posted were chosen based on their reliability and their ability to align with local native accounts. It is crucial to include a diverse range of sources that provide a comprehensive understanding of the topic at hand. I would also like to bring to your attention an additional point regarding the ongoing discussion between myself and @Sutyarashi. I believe it would be beneficial for you to review our discussion, which can be found on my talk page. In that conversation, I have provided a well-reasoned argument to support my position. I kindly request that you consider the points I have raised and evaluate the situation with a balanced perspective. I firmly believe that the argument I presented offers sound reasoning and justification for the edits and sources I have included. I am confident that by considering the discussion between @Sutyarashi and me, you will gain a more comprehensive understanding of the situation.
- Considering the circumstances, I kindly request that you review the situation with an open mind, taking into account the potential bias displayed by @Sutyarashi. By doing so, we can ensure a fair and balanced evaluation of the edits made and the sources provided.
- Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to further discussions and collaboration on this.
- Best regards, Sir Calculus (talk) 23:33, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sir Calculus sorry, but I don't have any bias towards you or any group. I've already told you to avoid WP:RAJ, still you are repeatedly re-adding them. This is really problematic. Sutyarashi (talk) 06:28, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sutyarashi Your past history of vandalizing Sindhi articles or articles related to Sindh indicates otherwise. You have a history of such behavior, not just with me, but with other users as well, so this doesn't really help your case or reflect positively on your profile. I have noticed that there are certain articles which you had not previously edited, but after your recent involvement, changes were made by you. Additionally, I find it suspicious that these articles were semiprotected by @Yamaguchi先生 on the same day as your reverts after just a few hours. These circumstances raise some questions. Regarding RAJ, What is truly problematic, however, is your history on Wikipedia, as indicated by the instances of vandalism and negative behavior. I've already given you sound reasons which are more than valid & have very thoroughly explained on my talkpage regarding RAJ. After @Yamaguchi先生 reviews them, another admin should also look at this matter, preferably someone not from Asia. This would ensure a neutral conclusion. It appears that you have shown a preference against neutrality through your edits. In contrast, I have presented both viewpoints with ample citations from native and non-native sources. An unbiased administrator should be responsible for making the decision in this matter, promoting neutrality and upholding Wikipedia's policies. I trust that we can reach a resolution that respects the principles of neutrality and promotes a positive environment on Wikipedia. Sir Calculus (talk) 09:54, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sir Calculus please avoid WP:PERSONAL in your remarks. There are literally dozens of past discussions on Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard regarding this, describing why WP:RAJ should be avoided. Sutyarashi (talk) 12:40, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sutyarashi Do show me the exact sentence which requires the mentioning of 'WP:PERSONAL'.
- I have not made any abusive or insulting remarks to you. I mentioned your past history of negative behavior which any administrator can see when they see your edit history & complete profile. You have history with others.
- Regarding WP:RAJ, I already have thoroughly explained why it's not of any relevance in the articles I edited, I am not even editing any Indian 'castes'. And I include both viewpoints, keeping the article neutral. While you are targeting a certain group.
- It seems you do not know the difference between castes & tribes or clans. Those 'dozens of past discussions' are not of any relevance to the topics here. They are talking about something else entirely. And the citations I added include both native & non native sources which both support the viewpoints of the specifics. You do not choose to read, @Sutyarashi, you choose to rush. At my talk page, you did not even care to respond to any of the points I mentioned in all my past responses. All you mention is RAJ but you do not engage in responding to the points I made on my talk page. Sir Calculus (talk) 14:04, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- "Your past history of vandalizing Sindhi articles or articles related to Sindh indicates otherwise." is insulting and a personal attack. The comment telling you to read WP:VANDAL was I believe about this personal attack. Doug Weller talk 07:55, 8 July 2023 (UTC)

- I think you are being too harsh here, Removing them specially for when regarding "history" of a specific ethnic group doesn't make sense.Using the logic implied here in that way we can remove Outdated Colonial sources from: Charles de Gaulle, Winston Churchill etc. just because they are outdated for our standards? Starkex (talk) 10:39, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Starkex it is not only about being outdated, it's all about WP:RAJ. There is difference. Sutyarashi (talk) 12:34, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sutyarashi Which does not even apply here in the first place. The reasons of which are mentioned on my talk page. Sir Calculus (talk) 14:06, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- But the great problem here is that WP:RAJ is totally irrelevant here because the Sindhi tribes that the user has edited are not Hindu and WP:RAJ deals with Varna system which is out of context here. Starkex (talk) 19:32, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Starkex No, it isn't irrelevant because the point at issue is motivation, expertise etc of the authors not the precise subject matter. FWIW, as a general rule we prefer "modern" reliable sources for all subjects, not just those related to India/Pakistan etc. Indeed, I think there are some userspace essays and even proposed guidelines related to this on a project-wide scale. It can be tricky, I know, but we will always give weight to modern sources over older ones, regardless of subject matter. Think of it as "standing on the shoulders of giants": human understanding progresses based mostly on what has been discovered and noted previously by others - the key word in that being "progresses". - Sitush (talk) 21:11, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- You seem to remove 'Modern sources' as well. And regarding motivation & expertise, I've answered that on my talk page. The accounts predate RAJ. Sir Calculus (talk) 21:47, 7 July 2023 (UTC)

@Yamaguchi先生 there are several WP editors who are changing ethnicities of several clans and people to Sindhi, like Sir Calculus all while violating WP:RAJ. Can you please look into this matter? Sutyarashi (talk) 13:06, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Yamaguchi先生 Kindly look into @Sutyarashi, he seems to target the Sindhi tribes template & other Sindh related articles which have strong citations, including both native & non native references. He is directly against neutrality on Wikipedia. It is a serious violation. Thank you.
- Regards, Sir Calculus (talk) 14:10, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- Asking for reliable citations is not "targeting articles". You've been changing ethnicity from Baloch to Sindhi on them, and all while adding centuries old colonial era books. Sutyarashi (talk) 14:34, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sutyarashi Going after articles related to certain groups, which you did not touch before is considered 'targeting'. Especially if you go after multiple of them which you did not do before. And reverting whole articles instead of removing what 'you' consider unreliable. I never changed the ethnicity from Baloch to Sindhi, I added both Sindhi & Baloch, and the original versions of the articles had an unsourced tag on top in the first place, avoid WP:PERSONAL. The 'centuries old colonial era books'? Wikipedians are free to use sources from any period or era as long as they are reliable and do not contradict local accounts. Samma clans were Samma before the Brits arrived, and will remain Samma. If the latest source available is a 19th century ethnological account. I will use that source instead of a 15th century source. And along with that I have also added native references. So kindly, stop abusing the revert feature just because of your bias towards a certain people. Daudpotra is an example. Even after using native & latest sources. You reverted the whole edit which included not just references which I acquired after some hard work, but also others things like categories & notable list. Now compare that to your past history with others, it is on full display what is happening here. I'll leave it to an unbiased & neutral administrator to interpret. This is really problematic as you refuse to read any of my points & will always continue mentioning WP:RAJ even though it's not relevant to any of our specific discussions & has already been addressed on my talk page. Sir Calculus (talk) 15:52, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- Sir Calculus I'm not "going after" any articles, you're now accusing me of vandalism. You've been cautioned by multiple editors on your talk page, still you're refusing to comply with WP guidelines. Sutyarashi (talk) 17:31, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sutyarashi Targeting certain articles related to a certain topic is called 'going after'. Check your own talkpage, you have history with a certain group. Multiple editors? It's your friend Sitush & you. I am complying with WP policies. The opinionative guideline of Indian castes does not come under what I edited. They are not even castes. They're clans & tribes. Also check my latest response to Sitush on my talk page. I have mentioned some references which predate the British RAJ. Sir Calculus (talk) 18:43, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sir Calculus RAJ and PRIMARY are relevant. You should not be breaching them but seem unable to accept this. - Sitush (talk) 21:13, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- Again, we have went through this on my talkpage. RAJ is not of any relevance at all. And also doesn't reflect wiki policy. You can't impose your essays, especially if they're not related to the topic. We're discussing tribes and clans. Not Indian castes. We are discussing local accounts as well. But you seem unable to accept this. Sir Calculus (talk) 21:50, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sir Calculus Yes, indeed this stuff has been mentioned before, and not just by you. It has been mentioned over many years and has consensus. That you keep refusing to accept consensus is a problem & it's one which could ultimately result in you being blocked. You have to have consensus for your edits ... and you do not because years and years of discussions at WP:RSN, WP:ANI, WP:HISTRS etc have cone out in opposition to what you propose. Just as we wouldn't use a Victorian historian as a source for British history, so we will not use a Raj era British administrator as a source for ethnicity. You might care to read up on Scientific racism, by the way: this discredited theory was all the rage in the Raj era. - Sitush (talk) 08:57, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- The thing is I do not have a problem with you implementing it on Indian caste related articles. But what you are doing is forcing something which is not related to Pakistani tribes & clans. A discussion is needed which includes all parties, not just one. As that wouldn't help us reach a neutral conclusion. You may have had discussions with 4 editors, but you have to consider their origin as well. One sided decisions rarely benefit Wikipedia. Another editor on my talkpage has also highlighted why WP:RAJ is not of any relevance at all in articles about Pakistani tribes & clans. Daudpotra article is an example where you reverted it all despite there being native references as well. You reverted the notable people list as well as the latest references which have nothing to do with RAJ. Even at Kulachi tribe article, your own version uses references which I added & even in those references it states both viewpoints. But your text didn't connect with the references. Also kindly avoid block threats, the discussion is still progressing. WP:THIRD will help reach a neutral conclusion. I have notified a neutral administrator who is not from Asia. After they observe our discussion & give their thoughts. I will abide by that decision whether it's in my favor or not. If it isn't, then I will not add any RAJ era sources in the future even if written by natives. Sir Calculus (talk) 09:25, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sir Calculus Did you read WP:THIRD? Did you do what it says? I don't think you can select who acts as the third opinion, nor does an administrator have more authority than any other editor in providing it. - Sitush (talk) 09:57, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, I can't select who acts as the third opinion. That's why I specifically added 'notified'. The person notified doesn't know me, he is not even from Asia. And he's not selected as the third opinion. If you disagree with him, then another neutral administrator can step in. I do not have a problem with that. I only want to reach a resolution. Sir Calculus (talk) 10:04, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sir Calculus You misread it. I suggest that you retract your invitation to whomever it was and do things properly. - Sitush (talk) 10:36, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sir Calculus saying that we must take into account the "origin" of editors involved in a discussion is racist. - Sitush (talk) 10:03, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- Racism is a very serious allegation, you cannot say racist without evidence. WP:PERSONAL
- I mentioned we must take into account the origin because we don't want a one sided conclusion, we want neutrality, which should include both viewpoints of both parties. It has nothing to do with racism. A very serious allegation. Sir Calculus (talk) 10:07, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sir Calculus I am British. One of my great-great-great-grandparents came from what is now Germany but every other member of my family, going back as far as the 17th century, came from either England or Ireland. I am "neutral" in your sense of the word. It is just that you don't like what I say.
- And any other contributor to a discussion is neutral until shown otherwise, so it matters not a jot what their "origin" may be. That you think it does matter is prima facie racist and it is not a personal attack to point out that we should not base our deliberations on someone's "origin" unless we have very good reason. - Sitush (talk) 10:22, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- Your continuous involvement in articles related to India makes it less believable that you're British. And by neutral, I do mean what I said before, and a third opinion will not include you as you are in this discussion with me. And yes, any other contributor to a discussion can be neutral until shown otherwise. That 'otherwise' I have mentioned above why. I have not made any racist remarks, I am someone who believes in humanity, not a specific race. But we cannot ignore that biases exist. I'll give you an example. Palestinians for example think Israel is biased against them. And Israel considers Palestinians are biased against them. If you think that example is weak, I can provide a reference to support it. Sir Calculus (talk) 10:35, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sir Calculus Oh, so now you think I am lying about being British?! Brilliant! Would you like me to bring in some editors who have actually met me in real life? I mean, they haven't checked my passport or genealogy but they will vouch for me.
- That is a ridiculous assumption of bad faith. - Sitush (talk) 10:38, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- I am not thinking you are lying, I just mentioned what's happening on wiki. Your own friend accused me of sockpuppetry btw. I honestly apologize if you believe I have assumed negatively, that was not my intention. I can legitimately bring people for some of the tribes you and sutyarashi have been disrupting the articles of. They will privately disclose their identity to you if you agree to accept the existence of their tribes & not deny their existence. Sir Calculus (talk) 11:07, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sir Calculus What some random alleged tribe member says is not compliant with WP:RS. And I have no friend involved in this discussion. You really must stop making assumptions. - Sitush (talk) 11:11, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- So you reject native sources, you reject non native sources, you reject sources from a certain period, you reject sources that predate that period, you reject sources that came after the end of that period, you reject sources by historians that are also used by modern universities, including the University of Karachi & Sindh University, department of Sindhology for which I provided a reference too & then I even offer you a conversation with an actual tribal member who is ready to disclose their identity. And yet still, you accept none of the above. None. Now what does this indicate? To me it indicates you don't want to reach a resolution, but still what's your opinion on this? Sir Calculus (talk) 11:19, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sir Calculus To me, it indicates WP:IDHT and WP:TE on your part. It is simple: read WP:RS, understand it, then follow it. - Sitush (talk) 11:34, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- It indicates wrong then, we both know I have maintained neutrality in those articles unlike you who is hell bent on promoting a single viewpoint. I have added both viewpoints with reliable references. Sir Calculus (talk) 12:01, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- Individuals do not meet our criteria at WP:V or WP:RS as they are not reliably published sources. Doug Weller talk 11:37, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Doug Weller Okay, leaving those individuals aside. Can you please take a look at the on going discussion on my talk page, right from the start if possible? It's going in a loop. Please check my arguments there with Sutyarashi regarding RAJ, another editor also disagrees on RAJ. Sir Calculus (talk) 12:05, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- I don't know enough or have the time to look at the content dispute. I'm pretty short of time, see my talk page. Doug Weller talk 12:33, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- Understandable, no worries, brother. Sir Calculus (talk) 12:39, 8 July 2023 (UTC)

- @Sir Calculus Did you read WP:THIRD? Did you do what it says? I don't think you can select who acts as the third opinion, nor does an administrator have more authority than any other editor in providing it. - Sitush (talk) 09:57, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- Sir Calculus I'm not "going after" any articles, you're now accusing me of vandalism. You've been cautioned by multiple editors on your talk page, still you're refusing to comply with WP guidelines. Sutyarashi (talk) 17:31, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- Asking for reliable citations is not "targeting articles". You've been changing ethnicity from Baloch to Sindhi on them, and all while adding centuries old colonial era books. Sutyarashi (talk) 14:34, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
We have been following a set of conventions/policies as given in WP:RAJ for years. From my own experience tackling ethnic issues in Wikipedia, these are indispensable. There is no reason to give them up. It is not only @Sitush who has contributed to it, but many others. In many cases new studies are indeed available that do not have the RAJ source problems and they should be used instead. There are some recent writings that just regurgitate these older RAJ sources, or fantastic accounts. These too are not acceptable in Wikipedia. But recent studies that examine older RAJ sources critically are useful. I know for certain that in the articles I generally contribute to I have found some excellent recent archival works (based on these very RAJ sources that are not directly usable in Wikipedia). @Sir Calculus, please look for them, or ask for help in WP:RSN. Someone will surely help you locate acceptable sources. I suggest this route because I have myself benefited from seeking help from others. Otherwise, you are walking down a path of peril. Chaipau (talk) 12:08, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for being polite & giving a proper well written response. I highly respect that & I really appreciate that you are respectful & nice in giving advise. If this respect were practiced by others as well this will make Wikipedia a warm & friendly place.
- Regarding the ethnic accounts, I have presented some stuff on my talk page in the discussions with others that doesn't rely on RAJ, can you please take a look at it? I would appreciate it. And once again, I want to make it clear that I want to reach a resolution. Sir Calculus (talk) 12:18, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sir Calculus Firstly, people have been polite and suggested what Chaipau has said - you chose to ignore those suggestions & that is why we are going round in circles. Secondly, your last paragraph above indicates to me that you are still intent on going round in circles. How many more times and how many more people have to comment before you accept what they say? - Sitush (talk) 12:26, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- They haven't been polite like Chaipau. I admire his response even though I don't know him. Intentions are made clear by you, Sitush. You refuse to entertain any anything that doesn't agree with your pov. You reject neutrality. And regarding talk page, others haven't made a comment, it's you & Sutyarashi. It should also be noted that another editor also disagrees with you not just me. Let that be clear. Your friend is still going after Sindhi tribes template, very neutral of him, no? You have made Wikipedia a place where only one viewpoint (your own ethnic pov) is represented. You reject neutrality & refuse to listen to others. Otherwise you would have mentioned or called out Sutyarashi on his recent behavior too. Touching articles he didn't go after before. Especially the Sindhi tribes template. Is that not bias? Or is it that on Wikipedia only a certain group is targeted so you bully them out, threatening with topic bans & indefinite blocks. I am familiar with your history. And I still want to reach a resolution. Neutral opinion is required. Not one sidedness. Sir Calculus (talk) 12:36, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sir Calculus Sutyarashi is not my "friend". I don't have an "ethnic pov". I can't watch what everyone does, everywhere.
- You need to consider what is and is not bias on Wikipedia, what is and is not bullying, and what constitutes consensus. You are not going to get your way here unless you change tack, as Chaipau & others before them have told you. - Sitush (talk) 13:09, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- Okay, Sitush. Sure, he's not your friend. Let's end it on that. Sir Calculus (talk) 17:40, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sir Calculus sorry but your entire point revolves around proving that certain people are Sindhi, altering their articles and changing their descriptions, even if it means that you have to add unreliable books as citation. This definitely constitutes ethnic POV pushing from your side.
- Now see, all editors are being patient with you because they can understand that you've been around here for only last two months; there is still much to learn for you. It is advisable that for now you just follow WP guidelines instead of accusing literally everybody that they have created such policies to undermine you and some have sort of "secret friendship" against you. Otherwise, believe me, the only other way goes to atleast topic block.
- I and others have repeatedly asked you to add any scholarly work other than colonial ones and non-English sources (because they are either unreliable or unverifiable). Still you've been stubbornly refusing this, stating that this "violates neutrality".
- Please atleast assume good faith from editors who have been here since last 15 years or so, and comply with guidelines given by them instead of edit warring on various pages. Sutyarashi (talk) 13:23, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sutyarashi I AM NOT TRYING TO PROVE that certain people are Sindhi. I added what exists & supported that by reliable references. The references which EVEN YOU didn't remove on that Sanjrani article. It was from the same book. Same book which stated that in Balochs, Sanjrani belong to this tribe & and in Sindhis they belong to Burira tribe. I presented both viewpoints & supported them both with references. I didn't change their 'ethnicity' I even advised you to do a single google search. Look up Sindhi Sanjrani, there's literally a Sindhi Sanjrani who was the former chief minister of Sindh. There's a singer too. But you refuse all that because you don't want to recognize a certain group's existence despite there being evidence. And edit warring? You are also warned by others for edit warring. Follow the guidelines.
- And I assume good faith from editors who actually want to guide & help me, like Chaipau. But others who don't want to reach a resolution & continue on their arguments, mass deleting content just like Sitush has now done on Nabi Bakhsh Baloch's article, how can I assume good faith of them?
- The articles were rotting before, they literally had 'unsourced' tag on them. I fixed them all. Worked hard to find proper citations not just a mention in a page. Despite all my work, you revert them all. How can I assume good faith of you after you do that? How? How can I assume good faith of you when you go after articles or templates (like the Sindhi tribes template) which you didn't target before? No matter what biased action you take, I am supposed to stay silent & accept it? Is Wikipedia reserved for Individuals like you? Are all minorities bullied out from the platform? Sir Calculus (talk) 17:51, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sir Calculus I and others told you to avoid WP:RAJ and primary sources, is there anything difficult to understand this? Also, as Sitush has shown that your supposedly good Sindhi language sources are not reliable at all, you should avoid them too.
- Other than that, most sources are fine and no one is going to revert you for them.
- Also, stop calling me Sitush's friend, this is probably first time I am interacting with them. In other words, you're accusing me of meat-puppetry without any evidence, which is again WP:PERSONAL. Sutyarashi (talk) 12:37, 9 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sutyarashi Stop putting words in Sitush's mouth & stop making things up. He never said they were not reliable at all. And regarding RAJ, it was you who reverted my edits later, the articles remained stable before you came. The articles you are calling 'clean & stable' had multiple templates on them. Unsourced templates, non neutrality templates, non encyclopedic tone template, grammar fixing templates. You can look up their past history, they were literally rotting. You didn't even care to fix them! They remained fixed for some time before your involvement with the user allegedly banned for "WP:RAJ". In your little edit war with them you messed up other articles that I had fixed. Kindly stop the slander & read WP:PERSONAL. And despite your experience you are engaging in edit warring & selective bias. So please stop. The world doesn't revolve around RAJ, scholars don't think of a minority essay when doing research, which is not even a Wiki policy in the first place. And Sitush is confused too, when I asked him whether I should follow RAJ he implied it would be problematic for me to follow the consensus. You can check his text at my talk page. Also maybe take a look at WP:DISENGAGE. You call yourself experienced & then you continue to engage in edit warring. Next time don't falsely accuse me. Stop trying to make it worse. It's enough! If you have a personal problem with me being on this platform then reach the appropriate place on Wiki for sorting this out. No matter how many times I want this to end with a proper resolution, you keep escalating it to nothingness one step further & further. You keep giving me more & more reasons to believe Starkex was right about racism on this platform. Sir Calculus (talk) 16:00, 9 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sir Calculus I never claimed that articles were in better condition before, but if anything, your edits made them worse. Rest of your reply makes little sense, especially the racism, accusation of bias against me and "confusion of Sitush". Sitush has been around here for 16 years, I don't think that they are confused about any WP guidelines. Also, you really owe thank to them for being too patient with you, you literally started questioning their identity and claimed them of meat-puppetry, and they ignored it instead of filing this behavior.
- Anyways, I don't even care that whether these obscure tribes are Baloch, Sindhi or anything else. My only concern was that you had been using at least a century old British sources, as if these tribes are frozen in the past and the RAJ content is relevant in 2023. Now, if other editors are OKAY with whatever content you're adding and your editing pattern of changing ethnicities, I don't see any point to waste my time again and again reminding you about what is considered reliable on WP and what is not. Part of blame lies on me too, as I didn't bring the issue on ANI as soon as it started escalating, otherwise it would have been solved now like the previous one.
- I'm done with this neverending thread, at least now you're aware of all these policies and can't claim ignorance about them if this issue is brought up again by anyother editor. Sutyarashi (talk) 16:25, 9 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sutyarashi I was referring to a specific comment when talking about that 'Confusion'. It was about this same consensus you are talking about. His comment is still up on my talk page. You can still look it up. And I accused you of bias because you hadn't come after those articles before. And even these same sources are up in so many articles you didn't care to fix them instead you wanted to continue on articles which are related with a certain group. And again for the millionth time, I AM NOT CHANGING ETHNICITIES, I added additional information. I didn't remove the ethnicity of those tribes. You can look up their past history. I didn't remove them. And I'm sorry about @Sitush, he seems to have good intentions & is trying to help me. And I don't have issues with any other editors. It was a discussion between you & me, when others (Sitush) joined I responded to them & explained my position on RAJ. And please you are not the one to talk about editing patterns. Look at your own editing patterns, mister. They got you warned too despite your experience. Anyways Good luck with your future edits, bye. Sir Calculus (talk) 16:50, 9 July 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I hope this message finds you well. My IP address was blocked from editing Wikipedia by you yesterday. I’m not looking to appeal the block but I just wanted to check which edits precipitated this block. I just wanted you to know that all the edits I’ve made have been made in good faith and I believe I’ve only made one edit recently. I hate the thought that I’ve done anything wrong so just wanted to check which edits were abusive? JackTaylor6464 (talk) 21:26, 19 July 2023 (UTC)

[edit]This range seems to not correlate well as it seems to go over the limit. I think it should be shorten. 2600:1009:B02C:5517:EC93:4E2B:D56E:6524 (talk) 03:19, 22 July 2023 (UTC)
Hi Yamaguchi先生. This really is a substantial block. I wonder if there's been an issue with accounts being created, hence the ACB, or whether I can help in some other way to narrow it down. Anyway, no blocks would ever get adjusted if people don't register their concern, so here's mine. Thanks. -- zzuuzz (talk) 16:57, 22 July 2023 (UTC)
I discovered this block: [12] because it covers my IP address. The range of the block is enormously wide, and the period of 2 years is very long. In addition, account creation has been blocked, so anyone who wants to edit would have to go through the ‘request an account’ procedure. This would create additional work for those who deal with those requests, and the block notice says: It may take some time to process your request.
I see that other admins have dealt with abuse from this range by applying pblocks to specified articles, rather than a site-wide block to all and sundry. What is your justification for this draconian action? Sweet6970 (talk) 12:14, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
My apologies for the delayed response. This range is blocked due to persistent and long term disruption as noted, however I do not object to any modifications made by any other administrator to limit any collateral damage. Please feel free to change as needed. Regards, Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 14:59, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply. Since I am not an admin, I can’t make any changes.
- I don’t know exactly what disruption has occurred. I couldn’t find out what articles had been affected, because my computer told me it was not possible to show the contributions from the range, because it is too big. Can the block not be restricted to specific articles, as previously? Or at least, a narrower range? And be changed to allow direct account creation?
- There is another point which concerns me. On Sunday, and again today, I was not able to log in using the link within the block notice – my computer wrongly told me that my password was incorrect. I had to use another route to log in. So I think there is something technically wrong with this block, and I am concerned that it may transpire that I am unable to edit Wikipedia for 2 years.
- @Zzuuzz: Do you have any suggestions? Sweet6970 (talk) 09:16, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
- I thank Yamaguchi先生 for the response, but it doesn't really answer any questions. What is the nature of this LTA, and is there a problem with accounts? We can view the contributions with these links:[13][14][15][16] Being a checkuser, I can also see potential account creation attempts from this range, which are numerous and always many more than any normal admin can see. I am able to change the parameters on this block, however I prefer admins to get their own blocks straight. If I were to re-block and add my name to the log, people will ask me why I've blocked the range. There's no real answer, and I'd likely to lift it because I don't see the justification for it. Maybe Yamaguchi先生 can help narrow down the problem. -- zzuuzz (talk) 09:37, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
- I see that this block is still in place, despite Zzuuzz’s comment that there does not seem to be any justification for it. I am considering raising this matter at Wikipedia:Administrative action review WP:XRV. Sweet6970 (talk) 10:54, 30 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. I am an admin at the English Wiktionary (I have been active on Wikipedia as User:Benwing). We have a user User:0DF who cannot log in due to this block and has tried contacting you without success. Can you change the block so it doesn't affect him/her? Benwing2 (talk) 19:38, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi again. In Yamaguchi先生's absence, and with their direction above, I've unblocked the range. I considered just allowing account creation, but per my comments above, I can't see the reason to maintain the anon-block. This block probably affects a large proportion of Sky UK customers, which is a major network in the UK, and disclaimer: it also affects me as I've been unable create accounts for other people and had to pester other admins to create them for me. You can see the collateral by the recent number of confused talk page edits from the range, and trust me there's a whole load of invisible people who can't create accounts. So Yamaguchi先生, if you think this block is worthwhile, then I'm happy to work with you getting it as focused as possible. Just let me know. -- zzuuzz (talk) 21:04, 8 August 2023 (UTC)

Biased opinions on article about Girnar
[edit]It has comes to my attention that article about mountain Girnar, if you look at it it is still biased and depicted as the sight only for Jain community. New information is also getting added very frequently which is not following Wikipedia standards. If you look at references too, you will find that many are not appropriate/proper. You also have had to restore the article quite a few times to a previous version in last one year. I also revert the changes however my changes are getting reverted back time to time. You seem like a good unbiased Wikipedia editor and supporter. Can you please take a deeper look at the article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girnar Tannaray68 (talk • contribs) 12:20, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in a research
[edit]Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,

Planning to unblock an IP you have blocked
[edit]Hello - I am planning to unblock 111.68.102.25, which you blocked for 3 years as a P2P proxy. I realize you probably made that block because ST47 proxy bot made that block on multiple occasions. Since that time, it has become apparent that the IP is assigned to a very large educational organization, and is a single IP for all of its internet activity. Now, I agree it's quite possible that there are one or more students running a P2P on this IP, given the institution has tens of thousands of students; at the same time, there really isn't any recent history of problem editing, and even a lot of the "unconstructive" edits are more symptomatic of new users than pure vandalism. In other words, we are not seeing the kind of problem editing typically associated with P2P proxies. Could you please let me know if you have any objection to this? (As an aside, I am amazed that our paths haven't crossed very often, you are obviously just quietly doing a lot of good work.) Risker (talk) 04:35, 6 November 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Article which was locked by you is not correct, because the current version is of the user which is now blocked (his account) and the same user also created a copy of the article (now merged) which I mentioned above to push his/her agenda. But after blocking he edited the page with IP and after that you locked the article. This one is the last best version with actual sources. Even the user who reverted the source less edits mentions this vandalism in his revert summary. So kindly please check the sources none of them mentions Vishwabrahmins which is added in the article. --Masterkiteretsu (talk) 04:50, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
