Contentious content addition

[edit]

Information icon It may not have been your intention, but one of your edits, specifically one that you made on Gurjara-Pratihara dynasty, may have been a change that some consider controversial. Due to this, your edits may have been reverted. When making possibly controversial changes, it is good practice to first discuss your edit on the article's talk page before making it, to gain consensus over whether or not to include the text, phrasing, etc. If you believe that the information you added was correct, please initiate that discussion. Thank you. Packer&Tracker (talk) 16:55, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Packer&Tracker: The controversy around Rajput origin is a complex one, but there is no controversy about them being rajput. The main controversy about Gurjara-Pratihara is about the word Gurjara, some historians suggest it was a region, some suggest it was a tribe. But no historian says they weren't a rajput dynasty. Likewise many different Rajput dynasties have different origin theories, almost all rajput clans have been given different origin theories by different historians, but them being rajput is not in question. The changes done by History quester seems okay, also it is backed by reliable sources. Sajaypal007 (talk) 19:06, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am not quite sure why you think the identity of Pratihars is a controversial edit, since some references used here are already used multiple times on this page about Gurjar-Pratihars, and it clearly says they were a Rajput dynasty. One cannot selectively choose from the same sources. Other sources which I have used are WP:RS as well.History quester (talk) 02:57, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Sajaypal007: I am not talking about Rajput origin here. I just think that mentioning them as Rajputs will be bit contentious unlike other Rajput dynasties i.e. Chauhans (Sambhar, Jalore, Nadol), Solankis of Gujarat, Parmaras of Dhar, Guhila-Sisodias of Mewar, Rathores, Chandelas, Kachwahas of Dhundar etc.
@History quester: Please see their origin section regarding their contentious nature as Rajputs, although it's true that modern researches dismissed the dated colonial myth of them being Gurjars (Dashratha Sharma and all) but still some scholars like R.C Majumdar in modern times do assert that their early rulers were assosiated with Gurjar tribe. Packer&Tracker (talk) 10:30, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Packer&Tracker: How will that be contentious, the origin problem is a separate one and unrelated to this. Anyone proposing or supporting Gurjara origin also mentions the dynasty as rajput, this isn't mutually exclusive, RC Majumdar also call it Rajput dynasty. You are confusing two separate topics. Sajaypal007 (talk) 11:01, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Argument of supporters of Gurjara origin theory is this: that this Rajput dynasty originated from an unknown Gurjara tribe, they are not saying Pratiharas were from modern Gurjar caste. Either supporter or those against this theory both, no group says they are not a rajput dynasty. I believe this will remove your confusion. Sajaypal007 (talk) 11:14, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Not only that the Gurjara origin myth was mixed packet of colonial history which connected every indian power to have some outside connection thats why Aryan Invasion theory was also a colonial concept. This was more due to them (British) being foreigners, hence justifying their rule saying most of the indian powers were actually foreigner hence the Gurjara theory was also given in the same tone as some foreigner tribe coming to india and ruling it. Vandalism

[edit]

Information icon ShriBalajji (talk) 04:13, 18 May 2023 (UTC) please do not remove or revert changes made according to the reliable sources and Targeted Pages as your revision has so many errors your changes will not appear your revision have so many error like Gujar but the Target Page Is Gurjar an ethnicity and some other errors too so don't revert without explaining in summaries or providing reliable sources as your actions too reflect the vandalism and Disruptive editing thank you.[reply]

I have not made any recent changes in Gurjar page, but have reverted the vandalism and changes on Landhaura page where Gujar was replaced as Gurjars, which is not as per the references used. So if you have any references with respect to Landhaura related to those details, do add it instead of just changing to Gurjar which is not correct and does not reflect the references used. Please do not make changes without any proper references. Please refer the wiki references guidelines. Thanks. History quester (talk) 13:23, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Vijay Singh Gurjar

[edit]

I have noticed that you made en edit on Vijay Singh Gurjar without any source So what source you have can you share with me I can see your just on Wikipedia to Target Gurjars what's wrong with you editing pages can't Change the truth @History quester History.With.Facts (talk) 01:48, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • None of the source mentioned on the page has the title as "First war of Independence". So it's clearly incorrect to add such a section on the page.
  • None of the sources mention them as Gurjar, it's Goojur or Gujar. Any detail on the page should be as per references, not as per any personal liking / preference.
  • I would advise you to go through wiki guidelines of reliable sources and references.
Please avoid making unreferenced changes and accusing other editors. History quester (talk) 12:11, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
