Orpington isn't in South East London, it's in Kent.

Wrong - it's been in London continuously since 1 April 1965. Jim Michael (talk) 23:18, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Comedienne is outdated and sexist language. A Citation for this can be found in the most recent guardian style guide. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.214.97.252 (talk) 18:47, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why was this added?

[edit]

"After a string of uneasy outbursts, venue management at her recent shows have ordered the public not to heckle. Paying customers are told "It's not that kind of show" on some occasions." At most comedy clubs I've been to as a paying customer, the compere has told people not to heckle. Why is it pertinent here? JamieH 01:53, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Because she's a fucking failure comedian. I watched a 12 year old boy heckle her and then go on to out-wit her. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.104.199.8 (talk) 18:55, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So what? The fact that you saw a 12 year old heckling has no relevance whatsoever to the question I asked, or the section of the article I was talking about. 194.75.37.250 (talk) 23:24, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's some mighty fine words, 81.104, coming from someone who uses the word "chaostician". Babyblue111 (talk) 16:58, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that's harsh. Personally I think she's great, but then I would say that – she's my type. Danny Darko (talk) 00:01, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removed

[edit]

I've taken out the bit I referenced earlier, because I can't think of a reason for it being included in the first place. JamieH 22:47, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just removed it again. I think it's part of a spiteful campaign against Josie. As a stand-up myself I can't imagine HOW promoters would go about this. "Uneasy outburst"? This stinks of bullying. AON —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.194.156.142 (talkcontribs) 2 July 2007

In Wikipedia's terms, it should be removed due to it being 'original research' and irrelevant to Long's notability, not because it's critical. Miserable to see chumps use articles for whining when there are so many other avenues for chump-whining on the internet. I refer to the original comment, not those commenting on it. Comedienne

[edit]

is an archaic term, isn't it? Anyway, it's not how Josie Long describes herself and may well be here for less than lovely reasons... Jamrifis (talk) 22:33, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, why was my edit reverted for being "unconstructive"?: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Categorization/Ethnicity,_gender,_religion_and_sexuality
"When in doubt, err on the side of respect and the right of people to define themselves"

http://www.myspace.com/drawingmoustachesinmagazinesmonthlymagazine

"I am a stand up comedian and i like word games and scottish indie bands. I am a dork."

? Jamrifis (talk) 22:46, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"On 18 March 2010 she appeared on the BBC Two comedy quiz TV programme show The Bubble, during which she notably wore a garment displaying Nye Bevan related witticisms."

'Notably', really? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.146.128.56 (talk) 01:40, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rambling career section

[edit]

Could someone with better copy editing skills than me take a look at the article, please? Especially the Career section is an overly detailed and rambling list of appearences. Yintan  20:28, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
