Infobox templates
That is the standard we had used on over 80 other hurricane sites - it is not new with Katrina. Those images should be placed elsewhere on the page in an appropriate section. It just messes up all the other ones... CrazyC8321:24, 2 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to contact you regarding an article you posted on a US Christian Democratic Party.
I did that because Pentecostalism is a much more significant movement than Quakerism. I also replaced Anabaptist with Baptist because of the significance of the movement; and added Churches of Christ to Restorationism because of its significance. -- Chris00:05, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I would take issue with some of that...for instance, the Anabaptist movement is more significant historically than the Baptists, who were largely birthed by the Anabaptists. Quakerism, also, historically, was very important, though, I grant that it looks as if Pentecostalism is (or soon will be) equally so. Anabaptists were placed there largely to cover both the Mennonite-style folks as well as the Baptists (who are also in large part covered under Calvinism). KHM0303:49, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I take the general point on Anabaptism. I think another way might be for me to create a category page called "credobaptism" (as a movement) that could list all the various links for Anabaptists, Baptists, and believer baptism in general. Also a category page on "Proto-protestantism" (Waldensians, Huss, Wycliffe, Tyndale, Anabaptists, etc.). In addition, a "revivalism" page could be made that includes Methodism, among others. Moreover, I think we should delete the portion on Restoration movements, and have two lines on Protestant movements, spreading it to include: Proto-protestantism, Lutheranism, Calvinism, Credobaptism, Puritanism, Revivalism, Liberalism, Evangelicalism, and Pentecostalism. Political spectrums
I saw your proposal at Political spectrum, and responded over there. But if you're interested in political spectrums, I invite you to take a look at one I proposed. I believe its fairly balanced, and for reasons cited believe it describes the spectrum more accurately than the Nolan Chart and derived models.
By the way, my views were initially very similar to yours (pro-life, pro-universal health care), although they've shifted a bit towards the left lately. I had actually thought about starting a Communitarian Party or Christian Democratic Party, and am certainly interested in the one you're trying to get started. Your link to its website didn't bring anything up, though... If you're interested in a discussion about politics, political spectrums, or plans for the Party, I'll be back from Fresno on Sunday (leaving tommorrow morning). Christian Democracy
Hi. I'm the person who listed your article on the CDP USA on WP:AFD. I have recently been messing around with userboxes and ran into the Christian democrat userbox you made. I renamed the template in accordance with new naming standards; it's now called {{User Christian democrat}}. I also changed the template so it adds people who use the userbox to Category:Christian democrat Wikipedians. Additionally, I removed your userpage from Category:Christian Democracy and Category:Christian Democrats -- those categories are for articles in the main namespace and not user pages. I just wanted to leave you a note to explain this so you wouldn't be confused. I hope it won't be a bother.
As a further note, I just wanted to mention that I hope there are no hard feelings about deleting the page for CDP USA. I'm not against the party or Christian democrats, but it's clearly a party you're starting, so Wikipedia was being used as a forum for original work rather than an encyclopedia to document events. I see you contributed edits to the article on Fideism. I moved the "note" to talk, because I suspect it needs to be hashed out further: I don't know of any version of Christianity that doesn't make faith in God's existence a necessary cause for salvation, even if such faith is not a sufficient cause. Proof of God's existence would therefore threaten to contradict a major element in the belief required by Christian revelation. It may be that the existing wording of the article doesn't make this clear enough, or that the "note" might be worded to read better. The goal of WikiProject Christianity is to improve the quality and quantity of information about Christianity available on Wikipedia. WP:X as a group does not prefer any particular tradition or denominination of Christianity, but prefers that all Christian traditions are fairly and accurately represented.

Welcome to Esperanza!
Welcome, Thane/Archive 1, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.
Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. Redwolf24 runs the spam to keep members up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.
In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.
I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of FireFox, Flcelloguy, Titoxd, and Karmafist. The next set of elections will be in February, and I would be glad to see you vote, or even consider running for a position.
If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Celestianpower by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. As I remember, the last spam that was handed out was on the 20th of December last year, so I think it's time for another update. First and foremost, the new Advisory Council and Administrator General have been elected. They consist of myself as Admin General and FireFox, Titoxd, Flcelloguy and Karmafist as the Advisory Council. We as a group met formally for the first time on the 31st of Decembe. The minutes of this meeting can be found at WP:ESP/ACM. The next one is planned for tonight (Sunday 29 January) at 20:30 UTC and the agenda can be found at WP:ESP/ACM2.
In other news, Karmafist has set up a discussion about a new personal attack policy, which it can be found here. Other new pages include an introductory page on what to do when you sign up, So you've joined Esperanza... and a welcome template: {{EA-welcome}} (courtesy of Bratsche). Some of our old hands may like to make sure they do everything on the list as well ;) Additionally, the userpage award program proposal has become official is operational: see Wikipedia:Esperanza/User Page Award to nominate a userpage or volunteer as a judge. Another Esperanzial note...
Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been ammended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter".
The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Due to the neutrality precident, I will not vote for anyone.

You gotta be kidding. I didn't know about that TFD. It should never have been started because of the pending DRV that you just closed. How many votes must this userbox suffer? My RfA

I'm delighted that the RfA succeeded with a final consensus of 52/17/7, and receiving comments including having 'excellent potential to become a great moderator', and I am now an administrator. It did however only just pass, and I shall do my very best to rectify any of my errors, including the general belief that I should do more article work. I still haven't fully figured out the correct text used in userboxes to make it subst the username, and hence sort the category according to name. {{PAGENAME}}? When I tried it, it didn't seem to work, but after you altered categories for the architecture userboxes, adding the one you found that I didn't know about (dang case sensitivity), it seemed to work correctly, even though as far as I could tell you didn't alter the relevant language. It's a bit bewildering. But thanks anyway. BTW, I couldn't find a 'how-to' page describing exactly how to create a category of users via inserting userboxes. Yes, it is rather complicated; I had to look at a lot of userboxes to find the ideal text, not only because of the bewildering amount of code involved for such little things, but also because many userboxes are quite inconsistent in how or whether they use categories (and in other areas)! I don't know if there's any guideline for making them; the guides at Wikipedia:Userboxes seem pretty basic, probably because users are too busy arguing over the new userbox policy votes to do much of anything else. :) I like your new boxes, though, and am glad you've got it working now; if you do have any future troubles with any templates (or anything else), no matter how trivial, feel free to give me a call here and I'll help fix 'er up or explain what's going wrong with the code.
Also, good luck with WikiProject Architecture! I look forward to any future improvements to Wikipedia's architecture articles; I've tinkered around with a few Greco-Roman architecture pages in the past, but a lot of these articles are in pretty bad shape, so it's a good thing that users have new ways to work together on this subject now! -Silence09:36, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there,
I see you've been adding the CD template to a lot of articles. Please check whether the addition of such templates does not interfere with the structure of the article. For instance, in Helmut Kohl, the template moves everything downward, leaving a gaping ugly hole in the middle. I've left the error so you can see what I mean.

Well, in fairness, there was absolutely no discussion on the talk page regarding any merge into the RC article. The sub-section part of the link (i.e. to social teaching) was dead. There is no such section there. The topic is not covered adequately there. Moreover, while the article needs work, it is not exactly a grossly-violating article. It just needs some work, not a merge. The topic is worth a stand-alone article, if not several sub-articles. It should not be folded into the RC article, because the movement Christian Democracy, which is highly tied to the concept of CST, is not tied to the Roman Catholic Church itself. In short, CD exists independently of the RC, but not of CST. :-) Therefore CST needs an independent article. For example, I am a Christian Democrat who believes in 95%+ of CST, but I'm not Roman Catholic. GUÐSÞEGN – UTEX – 16:28, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, Christian Democracy may not exist without CST, but I think the point is that CST does not exist without the RCC! You can't justify divorcing the Church's own teachings from its article by saying that you want to claim them for CD. In any event, as somebody who likes CST, you should be just as concerned as I am about the horrible state of that article. There is no context; it's just a list, and a specious one at that. That's why we merged it; to give it more attention at Roman Catholic Church. There was no discussion happening at Catholic social teaching because hardly anyone was paying attention to it.
Hey, the political linkage template you're adding to many politics articles - it just seems out of place on an article - and the user can easily type something in the address bar. The Barnstar Brigade is a new program aimed at giving more very deserving yet unappreciated users barnstars. It will officially start on 2006-04-09, but signing up is encouraged before this date:

Why are they so dissimilar? All three—Zionism, Christian Democracy, and Islamism—blend religious and political ideologies. And nowhere in the article does it say Christian Democracy advocates the seperation of church and state. They are similar enough in form to be linked to each other under "See Also." Can you not distinguish a difference between Vicente Fox of Mexico or Angela Merkel of Germany and the Hamas leadership of Palestine or Ali Khamenei of Iran? That's the difference betweem Christian Democracy and Islamism. One advocates democracy (rule of the people) and the other advocates theocracy (a misnomer in this case; word means rule of God, though there is nothing godly about Hamas or Iranian leadership). I'm saying that they share enough similar traits that they should provide links to one another. They all blend religious and political ideologies. That's what they have in common. The Catholic Church
Thank you for you note on my talk page. I appreciate that you and many others do not agree with the usage of the term, Catholic, for the the Church based in Rome. I respect you freedom to disagree; however, I do not believe you have the right to tell people how to name themselves. The Catholic Church could claim the rights to all the names of the various Christian Churches saying that their use of their name is "parochial." Of course this would be rude and condescending, and we do not. For instance, we could say that "Baptist" really should only be used to refer to all Christians, since we all practice baptism. Presbyterian--well, Catholics, Orthodox, and Anglicans would all have a much fairer claim to that title than Presbyterians do, since that term is understood to mean "priest," which they do not actually have. Methodists hardly have a method, but many other churches claim to. Everyone claims to be "orthodox", many churches are "episcopal" in their governance. Oh, and precisely which church is not evangelical in some fashion? ...etc., etc. (Not to mention LDS!) So, the first argument is that it is a matter of respect to call churches by how they call themselves. That is a minimum decency that civil people afford eachother. (
Also, it drives me crazy that Spanish speakers insist that the Americas are one continent and every on it is an "American," so, US citizens should really be "Unitedstatians," or some such other un-English formulation because it better suites their sensibilities. Let's just say that's not going to happen. In a likewise manner, it is very awkward English to use "Roman" in every reference to Catholicism. No one I know really talks like that. It is just poor sounding English.
Also, there are many Catholic Churches is the original sense of the term that do not call themselves "Roman," such as the Greek Catholic Church, the Ruthenian Catholic Church, the Maronite Catholic Church, etc. By original sense of the term I mean that "catholic" in the early church meant those in communion with the Church of Rome. Ignatius, if you read his discussion on the Church, literally says this! "Roman" Catholic within the Catholic Church means the "Latin Rite" almost always, though sometimes sometimes the term is used for the entire Catholic Church to ''emphasize'' the primacy of the Bishop of Rome, Primate of the West, Vicar of Christ, etc.
Now for the historical/institutional matter: No one in the 16th Century argued that the Catholic Church of Trent was a different institution from the one that Luther and the rest protested against and had sought to reform. Also, there was no Western Christian prior to the Reformation(s) that did not understand the Western Church as the Catholic Church. It is very clear that the Catholic Church after the reformation is the same institution that existed before and had alway called itself since Ignatius of Antioch the Catholic Church. The theology of sacraments, ecclesiology, etc. had not changed with the Reformation. So, the burden of proof is on someone who wants to claim that the Catholic Church ceased to be itself such that it needed to change its name.
Now this is where it gets interesting. The term "Roman Catholic" only came into vogue in the 19th Century for a number of reasons. It was a way for Catholics to distinguish themselves from others who broke away but kept the name, such as the "Old Catholics." It was a way to distinguish Latin Catholics from Eastern Rite Catholics within the Catholic Church. And, most interestingly for this discussion, Anglicans which had never had much use for any claims to being "Catholic" suddenly became interested in the term when the intense study of the previously lost patristic texts showed how ancient the term was and how "Catholic" the early church was in its theology and ecclesiology. Such patristic studies gave rise to the Oxford Movement and eventually the claim to Anglo-Catholicism. Of course, that the Anglican church was clearly protestant historically is demonstrated by such names as "The Protestant Episcopal Church of American," which is the original name of the ECUSA.
The term "Catholic Church" is never used in capitalized form for the "universal Christian church," because that would be confused with the Catholic Church. Except in the creeds, this term is never used without qualification for that purpose. Besides, we are talking about corporate entities, concrete churches. The abstranct sense is not a practical term but a theological conception (which does not make it any less real, but does put it in another distinct specific conversation in which the speakers would know the difference).
Lastly, while Catholics do occasionally call themselves Roman Catholics (only in the West) we have at no time in history ever ceased to call ourselves simply Catholics. This the name for our Church and ourselves in continuous use from the time of Igantius of Antioch ~107 A.D. Use of "the Catholic Church" is not "parochial," which seems to be an intentionally demeaning term, but is rather historical. Ignatius, by the way, was an Eastern Patriarch (of Antioch) and still claimed communion with the Bishops and especially the Bishop of Rome as the essential way to distinguish orthodox Christianity from false revelations, prophets, philosophies, etc. This explains the strangeness of WP aticles on publications such as the "National Catholic Reporter" with the word Roman interjected at every instance of the word "Catholic" except in the title of the "NCR" and the WP article title on the subject. It is just awkward, forced and ultimately a POV ideological imposition.
I noticed that you appeared in the edit history of the justification (theology) article. I recently made major changes to the article in an effort to move it to NPOV. If you have any suggestions for improvement (style, content, whatever), please leave a comment on the talk page for that article. The goal is to get the article to the point that the POV and cleanup templates can be removed.
The Administrator Coaching program is a program aimed at preparing Wikipedians for Adminship or helping them understand the intricacies of Wikipedia better. Recently, changes have been made to the requirements of coachees. Please review them before requesting this service.
This would be something like the Welcoming Committee, but for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. Some might like suggestions about how to learn vandal patrol, or mentoring on taking an article to featured status, or guidance with a proposal they plan to make at the Village Pump, for example. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
The Stressbusters are a subset of Esperanza aiming to investigate the causes of stress. New eyes on the situation are always welcome!

Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Re: Fair use in templates
While it may be legal, it is still not permited by Wikipedia policy. The reason for this is that having a large number of exceptions depending on a dizzying array of potential circumstances creates a situation that is untenable from a management of copyright concerns perspective. Thus, the policy is written such that the use of fair use images in templates is proscribed. Please see Wikipedia:Fair use criteria item #9 where it says "All other uses, even if legal under the fair use clauses of copyright law, should be avoided". Fair use images are to be used only in main namespace articles. Thus, it was properly removed from {{Christian Democracy sidebar}}. If you have any questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. Box on CST page
Kristófur, I have a suggestion concerning the Catholic social teaching page, and the Chistian Democracy box. The box was deleted during the recent cleanup efforts, as a couple of us were concerned that CST was more than just a subtopic of CD. I noticed that you put it back in recently. (Well, we are supposed to edit boldly . . . ;) ) Instead of just reverting that change, I have an proposal for you. I still think the box may be a bit much for that page, but the Euopean Christain Democracy movement has played an important part in the development of CST, a part that simply concentrating on encyclicals will miss. Apparently, you know a great deal more about the CD movement than the rest of us -- would you consider dropping the box, but adding some content about the interaction of CD and the development of CST? I think it would result in a greatly improved article, perhaps a better one than many of the alternatives on the net.

One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!

No this is Wikipedia and space is limited in articles. They are only so long and text and pictures always take priority over nav templates which add nothing to an articles content and in fact encourage readers to go elsewhere. Those of us who actually write articles and take pride in our work are fairly miffed by the proliferation of multi-colored, half-screen-size nav templates that squash the text and pictures made by people who never contributed anything to the article in the first place. Then when people complain you don't say "OK, maybe we can try a less obtrusive version, like one along the bottom of the page etc.." you force it and point to other large ugly obtrusive templates which are redundant with Categories and See Also's - why not just make the top %50 of the article a big nav template, I could think of a few thousand articles that could be linked to Christianity. -- Stbalbach20:20, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It has been proposed by John Carter that the various other projects which relate to Christianity ought to all at least tag those articles which fall within their scope. That way, this project would have a better idea which articles do not fall within the specific scope of any of the other related projects. Articles can be "tagged" by placing {{ChristianityWikiProject}} in the articles talk page.

They are not, however, endowed with any special executive powers, nor with any authority over article content or editor conduct.The Lead Coordinator bears overall responsibility for coordinating the project; the Assistant Coordinators aid the Lead Coordinator and focus on specific areas that require special attention.
The nomination period for coordinators is currently ongoing at Election 2008
Nominations for open positions will be open through 23:59 (UTC) on April 30 and project members should vote for any candidates they support by April 11 2008.
The election will be conducted using simple approval voting. Any member of the project may support as many of the candidates as they wish. The candidate with the highest number of endorsements will become the Lead Coordinator (provided he or she is willing to assume the post); the next four candidates will become Coordinators.
Our membership continues to expand. It is currently at 184 users. 86 new users have joined the WikiProject since last issue. Please make them feel welcomed!

The Christianity project and its related projects currently have 68 FAs, 7 FLs, and 146 GAs, which includes 3 more FAs. We did however lose one FL and 2 GAs over the past month, but we still basically broke even with the 3 new FAs.

Hello from the new Christian films task force! I was recently apart of founding a task force, so this is the story. For several months, I would not only contribute to Christian films, groups, etc., but I'd also see other users working on similar articles. I really wanted to create a project for us to work from. Filmcom contacted me about trying to get a task force going, so we began working together on it. When it appeared the idea was dying, we continued to fight, and several other users joined!
Thanks to the efforts of many users, I'd like to introduce you to the Christian films task force! We are currently having a bot tag all Christian film-related articles, and we are working to define our project scope. We now have our own icon and shortcut (WP:CFTF), with ten users signed out thus far - these are just some of the things that have been happening in the last few days. If you have any interest in joining such a project, we welcome everyone to join and get involved.

WP:UT's first priority is getting the flagship article (UT Austin) back to GA status and ultimately, FA status. The Christianity project and its related projects currently have 76 FAs, 8 FLs, and 148 GAs. We gained new recognized content in each field, with 4 FAs promoted, 2 FLs, and 3 GAs. Congratulations and a big thank you to all those who worked on these articles!
I am still working on the categorization matter. With any luck, we should have some results by the end of the month. There are also some discussions regarding project related activities at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/General Forum. One issue in particular that might be addressed is possible elections of new coordinators. Anyone interested in serving in such a capacity is more than welcome to indicate as much.

It has been a long time since the last coordinators election. There is a lot for people to do, and I certainly would welcome seeing any individuals with an interest in such a position put themselves forward as candidates. I in particular would very much like to see some degree of "specialization" in the coordinators, so that, for instance, we might have someone knowledgable about some of the specific Christian faith traditions or other main subjects, like Orthodoxy, Lutheranism, Mormonism, the Jehovah's Witnesses, art, theology, and so on. If any parties who have experience with some of our faith- or- subject-based content would be interested in being candidates, I would love to see them do so. Please feel free to take part in the discussion regading what the minimum number of category items is, and how to deal with the non-qualifying categories, on the General Forum page.

Other news
Two new pages for the benefit of members of the project have been created. Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/Mutual aid society is designed to be a place where editors seeking specific assistance from other members can with luck find others who have the abilities or materials they need, and Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/Special collections is, at this point, the beginnings of a list of publicly accessible special collections libraries which our members might find useful. Anyone who lives near one of the collections listed is encouraged to visit them and see if they can find anything they would like to read or use to improve some of our articles. There are always some discussions regarding project related activities at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/General Forum. I think the timing of the call for elections might have been bad (summer vacation, what was I thinking?), and have thus changed the period for individuals to run to be one of the project's coordinators. Individuals who have a particular interest or knowledge of specific fields within Christianity are encouraged to run, to serve as a kind of "unit coordinator" for that topic.

Unfortunately, the number of people who belong to the churches, and, correspondingly, the number of editors working on that content, is smaller than it could be. Anyone interested in helping to develop this content is more than welcome to look at the Wikipedia:WikiProject Oriental Orthodoxy page and seeing where they can help out.

Greetings. I noticed that you are one of the members of WikiProject United States Government that are still active so I wanted to ask you a question. It appears that this project is mostly inactive aside from what the members might be doing independently. I was considering suggesting that this project be pulled in under WikiProject United States and wanted to solicit comments from some of this projects members before doing so. As with Washington DC and the others the project would for the most part maintain its own independence but I believe this would benefit both projects. This month marks the observation of Pentecost, one of the most important feast of the Christian liturgical year. It is our hope here that all of you, regardless of your religious affiliation (if any), find that the holiday, and its accompanying activities, an enjoyable and beneficial experience. We also hope that this "Birthday of the Church" is one which gives you the same joy as the birthday of yourself or your loved ones.
Ichthus is the successor to the long running WikiProject Christianity newsletter, run under the WikiProject Christianity’s Outreach department. As such, you will continue to see information about our latest featured and good articles, DYKs, as well as new members who have joined our project. You might also see links to Christianity related news from the mainstream media!
As many of you may know, our unofficial mascot, dear Wikipe-tan, hasn't yet indicated any particular beliefs. However, yes, as we all know, ahem, some people might object to our beloved mascot running around in a French maid outfit. People do talk, you know. ;) If anyone might be able to develop an image of the dear lady in a image more, well, "Christian," I would like to see perhaps a vote for next month as to which, if any, image of the dear girl we might make our own unofficial mascot. Please post your images here.
As many of you might now, there are a large number of other Wikimedia Foundation projects, including WikiSource, Wiktionary, Wikibooks, WikiQuote, and others. I certainly believe that Wikibooks and Wikiquote might be among the more directly relevant sister projects. If any of you can think of any particular efforts in these other projects which you think would benefit from more input, please let us know here, so we can help spread the word around.
Ichthus will spotlight a different subproject or workgroup of WikiProject Christianity. This edition will spotlight on our vital Outreach department. This comparatively small, but vital, project unit is dedicated to welcoming new editors to Wikipedia and the Christianity related content, and to providing information to the various project members, in forms like this newsletter.
The scope of articles with which this group deals is truly enormous, and, given the wide variety of material with which we deal, we would very much welcome the input of more individuals, particularly individuals who are particularly knowledgeable of the less well-known and less frequently monitored articles related to Christianity.
Speaking personally, I would be very, very gratified if we were to have this become a very, very large and active unit, with members from the broad spectrum of Christian beliefs, practices, and groups. The broader the spectrum and areas of expertise of members we have, the better we will be able to help manage the content. Please consider whether you believe you might be able to contribute in this vital area.
Ichthus is one of the ways that the WikiProject Christianity’s Outreach department helps update our members. We have recently added some new sections to the newsletter. Please let us know what you think of the new departments, and if there are any other suggestions for departments you would like to see. And if you have anything you would personally like to add, by all means let us know. The talk page of the current issue is probably the best place to post such comments.

Wikimedia Foundation report
Wikisource currently has many old texts available, most of them in the public domain. This is a potentially very valuable source for several things, including for instance links to Biblical verses, because we know that it will, basically, be around as long as we are.
This section would include a rather large image of a specific work of art, with a link to the most directly relevant article.
Suggestion: Resurrection of Christ, an English 15th century Nottingham alabaster. Groups of painted relief panels were sold via dealers to churches on a budget , who had wood frameworks made to hold them locally. From a huge new donation of images from the Walters Art Museum to Commons, see

Also, a group specifically devoted to the Mennonites and other Anabaptists is now up and running at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/Anabaptist work group. Anyone interested in assisting with the development of these groups and topics is more than welcome to do so.
... in the statements contained in the Nicene Creed. I believe that the Bible is one of the two defining bases for belief. The other is the Sacred tradition, which provides us with means of interpreting the Scriptures, as well as some teachings which have been handed on by God outside of the scriptures. I believe that the Magisterium has been empowered to fill this interpretative function. I believe that clerical celibacy is a rule that should generally be followed. I am a member of the Catholic Church.

Wikibooks welcomes the development of textbooks of all kinds, children's books, recipes, and other material. It currently has just under 2500 books, including several Wikijunior books for the 12 and under population. There is, at present, not even a book on Christianity. Anyone interested in helping develop such a textbook is more than welcome to do so.

A new WikiProject relating directly to Christian history is being developed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christian history. Anyone interested in assisting with the development of these groups and topics is more than welcome to do so.
