Week 3/JANJAY10
[edit]I edited the article Climate change and food security in Africa. Here is the diff. I learned how to edit an article, add citations and published the findings. JANJAY10 (talk) 22:41, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- @JANJAY10 I see you fixed what was incorrect from above. Next time, you can edit what you did to correct it and not add an additional section. Your edits were done in italics, and they should have been done in regular text. Can you: 1. edit your edit and remove the italics, 2. combine your two sentences you added into a single paragraph, and 3. move the citation so it is after the period and not before it?
- Please do these three fixes and ping me here and I will review. FULBERT (talk) 15:29, 5 November 2024 (UTC)

Week3/ zw2306
[edit]This week I chose the article “Self-cultivation” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-cultivation to edit. I added a citation to the first sentence in the subsection “Theoretical Background” by addition citation and a reference. Here is Diff
This assignment helped me learn more about the topic, since it was a new subject for me. Being able to edit the article gave me a sense of accomplishment and the feeling of having contributed something of value. Zw2306 (talk) 21:43, 3 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Zw2306 Citations alone generally do not add value. Beyond adding a citation alone, make sure to provide a sentence or two within the article itself to express your contribution in context (which the citation will support). This will demonstrate how your addition adds to the overall knowledge in the article. Please add a sentence or two to the article you edited and then ping me here when done. FULBERT (talk) 18:12, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, Professor. I did the revision. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Self-cultivation&diff=prev&oldid=1256019556 98.113.87.69 (talk) 20:52, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Zw2306 Please ensure you are logged in when posting. Also, what you linked to was reverted as it did not have a citation. Please add a sentence or two with a reliable citaiton to support your claims and then ping me here when done and I will review. This can be the same article or another one. Week 4/Myeon
[edit]So this week I edited two articles on the Wikipedia platform.
The first one is 'Job Satisificition.' For the session of 'Influencing factors', I add a topic about 'The Influence of Remote Work and Digital Transformation on Job Satisfaction'. This could have enriched the article by providing information about yet another factor influencing job satisfaction as companies move to a phase of digital transformation after the epidemic. Here is the article, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Job_satisfaction&wvprov=sticky-header. And here is the difference, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Job_satisfaction&diff=prev&oldid=1255600837.
The second one is 'Educational technology'. I added a new paragraph to the "Benefits" section, introducing the advantages of generative AI tools like ChatGPT in education. This addition highlights AI’s role in supporting personalized learning, motivating students, and aiding in complex tasks, thereby expanding the article's coverage of educational technology's benefits. Here is the article, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Educational_technology&wvprov=sticky-header. And here is the difference, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Educational_technology&diff=prev&oldid=1255606625.
With practicing using Wikipedia, the process taught me to adhere to neutral language and reliable sourcing, ensuring that contributions meet Wikipedia's standards. I also developed a deeper understanding of how to structure information to make it accessible to a broad audience. Overall, this practice enhanced my ability to contribute to collaborative knowledge-sharing platforms and strengthened my critical thinking and writing skills.
MyeonD (talk) 20:19, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- @MyeonD:, Why is it that the message you wrote above to your instructor, as well as the contents you're adding to articles are coming back as 100% AI in GPTZero? It returns "We are highly confident this text was ai generated 100%Probability AI generated" Please do not add undisclosed AI contents into articles, including one I just got done cleaning out AI trash out of a few days ago. - @JANJAY10 Many parts of your writing feel like they were developed using Al, with the direct output here not being your own work. Per our course AI Policy, while AI tools can provide valuable assistance, it is crucial for students to understand that the final output and submission must be their own writing. While AI may be helpful for ideation, you must critically evaluate the suggestions provided by AI tools and make informed decisions about incorporating the ideas, and not the direct words, into your own work. Always contextualize your work to reflect your own understanding of the credible and reliable source you cite to support your statements. Please review the Wikipedia guidance at WP:LLM, WP:NOR, WP:NPOV, and WP:PROOF. Week 4/Nyn218
[edit]Summary of the Article Citation Added: The citation from The Economist (2014) supports details about The Tale of the Princess Kaguya’s unique visual style, describing how the film uses a storybook-like watercolor palette and expressive, sketchy lines. This artistic approach reflects the film's emotional depth and departs from typical computer-generated animation, emphasizing Studio Ghibli’s commitment to hand-drawn artistry.
Link to the Diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Studio_Ghibli&diff=prev&oldid=1256422371.
Reflection on the Learning Process: This editing process taught me the importance of thorough, reliable sourcing on Wikipedia to enhance article accuracy and depth. Adding a citation from The Economist for The Tale of the Princess Kaguya not only validated the content but also introduced readers to the nuanced visual style of the film. I discovered that even small details, like properly formatted citations, can improve the article's credibility and make complex topics more accessible to a wider audience.
Summary of the Article Citation Added:The cited article discusses the integration of AI-based digital assistants in workplaces to handle routine tasks, enhancing productivity by automating administrative duties like scheduling, reminders, and processing orders. It highlights the efficiency benefits these tools bring to workflows while addressing challenges around data privacy, accuracy, and readiness for full organizational adoption.
Link to the Diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=1256428806
Reflection on the Learning Process: Through this edit, I learned the importance of balancing AI’s potential benefits with its challenges, especially in professional settings where privacy and accuracy are critical. Understanding how to frame AI advancements in a practical, contextually relevant way also reinforced the value of clear and concise explanations when discussing technology's role in workplaces. Nyn218 (talk) 22:29, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Nyn218 Please review the reworking of your first edit here by another editor, likely related to concerns with AI-generated text. Please reply about how you understand the respone here, and then ping me and I will review. You do not need to change what you edited within the articles at this time. FULBERT (talk) 18:36, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- I’ve reviewed the changes made by TechnoSquirrel69, who revised my contribution to better align with Wikipedia’s standards for neutrality and originality. It appears they removed language that might be interpreted as promotional, to ensure the content remains unbiased and accurate. Additionally, they addressed close paraphrasing to maintain a distinct structure and phrasing, which I understand is essential for upholding Wikipedia’s standards of originality. This revision highlights the importance of neutral, objective language, and I’ll apply these insights to enhance the quality of my future contributions. Nyn218 (talk) 19:42, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
Week 4/BJ2352
[edit]I edited the article Supply chain risk management. Here is the diff. I added one paragraph about the predictive analytics of supply chain risk. Week 4/ nutnutt12
[edit]The first article I edited is https://w.wiki/Buam, and here is the differ: https://w.wiki/Buao.
I included a statement that highlights how creativity without execution is only a concept, but innovation results in tangible effects, to further clarify the difference between the two. The argument that innovation entails the implementation of creative ideas was strengthened by the extra sentence, which served to highlight the practical relevance of innovation in comparison to creativity.
The second article I edited is https://w.wiki/Buaz, and here is the differ: https://w.wiki/Bua$.
I included information about the practical and emotional barriers of cultural adjustment, such mental fatigue from juggling many cultural identities, vulnerability, and difficulties with everyday tasks.I also emphasized the psychological effects, concentrating on identity uncertainty, loneliness, and possible despair, particularly among overseas students. I also provided a reference to back up the section on the psychological impacts of cultural adjustment.
Through this process, I discovered how crucial it is to properly cite sources for statements made in order to bolster the argument and provide a clear link to reliable sources. I was able to improve the content's academic integrity and provide a deeper comprehension of the subjects covered by using citations. Nutnutt12 (talk) 04:47, 10 November 2024 (UTC)

Week4/zw2306
[edit]For this week, I choose to add citations to two articles. The first article I chose to edit is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marketing_strategy The article has multiple issues and I chose to make one edit in the “Marketing management versus marketing strategy” section. This section is highlighted as having excessive quotes so I rewrote the first paragraph into two, to remove the quotes/plagiarism. I also added two citations. Here is the Diff
The second article that I chose to edit is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organizational_culture. One of the problem the article has is that requires additional citations for verification. So, I choose to add two more citations. Here is the diff
This assignment helped improve my editing skills, especially adding citations and references. Zw2306 (talk) 01:41, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Zw2306 You should always be logged in when you make edits, as your edits did not connect with you. Also, I am not clear what happened with your citations or some specifics with your edits. Week4/Sp7930
[edit]For this week, add citations to two articles. The first article I chose to edit is Cyberattack and here is the diff.
Summary of the citation is that i added the Vulnerability Model (VM) which focuses on recognizing attack patterns, potential threats, and assets of value, both physical and intangible. Through this article I learnt that Computer systems' increasing complexity makes them more efficient but also more vulnerable, as software bugs (vulnerabilities) can be exploited, highlighting the importance of proactive security measures.
The second article I chose to edit is Computer security - Wikipedia and here is the diff.
Summary of the citation i added is that a target information in a side channel is difficult to detect because its signal is weak and easily masked by other signals.
Through this article i learnt more about Computer security and about side channel attacks. What’s interesting about side-channel attacks is how they don't rely on breaking traditional security measures like encryption.

[edit]I added citations to two articles. The first article I edited is Crisis management - Wikipedia and here is the diff where I provided a citation defining what constitutes a crisis and how an organizational crisis is defined within the context of crisis management. Through this article, I learned about the different types of crises.
The second article I edited is Data degradation - Wikipedia and here is the diff. where I added a citation explaining the concept of data degradation. This was a new concept for me, and through the article, I learned that data deterioration can result from various factors affecting the reliability and integrity of digital information, such as physical issues, software faults, security breaches, human errors, outdated technology, and unauthorized access events. Review for new article
[edit]Hi Fulbert, Hope all is well. I'm requesting a review of Monique The Star Opnionatedone (talk) 01:15, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Opnionatedone Nice start article. I made a few edits and it is now live. As it is listed as an orphan, that means you may want to see what other Wikipedia articles can link into it. Nice overall. Also, I noticed on your Talk page you have some of your working article on Steve Carless. Since that article itself is live, you may want to remove it from your Talk page to avoid duplication in searches or the like. Keep up the great work! FULBERT (talk) 18:18, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you so much Fulbert, I now remember how orphans work thanks to you. I'll remove that from my talk page asap. I appreciate the direction. Opnionatedone (talk) 19:22, 12 November 2024 (UTC)

Week 5/ Myeon
[edit]Here is the first article I edit: Remote work, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Remote_work&wvprov=sticky-header, and here is the difference, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Remote_work&diff=prev&oldid=1257203787. I add a new aspect about the benefit of work remote. It is under the topic: Higher employee motivation and job satisfaction due to autonomy and flexibility, but the part I added more focus on the benefit of choosing work places flexibly.
And the second article I edit is: Human resource management, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Human_resource_management&wvprov=sticky-header, and here is the difference, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Human_resource_management&diff=prev&oldid=1257208890. Base on the information I learned from a reference of HR 4.0, I added something about talent management and performance management. Make the information about virtual management more comprehensive.
Through the work during this week, and learning from the lessons of previous feedback, I realized that editing articles requires more patience and care, carefully reviewing content and reducing or even circumventing the use of AI. That will be more difficult, but learn more knowledge as well.

Week 5 / nutnutt12
[edit]The first article I edited is https://w.wiki/C2dB, and here is the differ: https://w.wiki/C2dm.
I added a phrase to the topic on regional racism in Asia to highlight how historical conflicts, economic struggle, and geopolitical tensions contribute to stereotypes and prejudices. This addendum emphasizes the damaging impact such preconceptions have on collaboration and mutual respect among nations with cultural and ethnic similarities.
The second article I edited is https://w.wiki/C2en, and here is the differ: https://w.wiki/C2eo.
I extended the text by including a statement that stresses the historical relevance of the 1619 Thanksgiving celebration. The rewritten phrase emphasizes how this early commemoration created the groundwork for the current Thanksgiving holiday, highlighting the settlers' religious commitment and thanks. It also discusses how the celebration evolved from a local event in Virginia to a nationally known holiday throughout the United States.
Throughout this process, I discovered the importance of not just including relevant sources, but also ensuring that they provide depth and meaning to the conversation. Nutnutt12 (talk) 01:29, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
