Week 3/sp7930
[edit]This week I edited an article Finance. Here I included the diff. I also made changes to the article and here is the diff.
Today, I learned about quantum finance. It is a field where quantum mechanics meets finance! It’s all about applying quantum theory principles to improve financial modeling, risk assessment, and pricing. This approach could lead to smarter, more advanced financial tools, making it an exciting area with huge future potential.Sp7930 (talk) 19:06, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @FULBERT,
- If I'm adding multiple sources to an article, do I need to show the edit history each time? How should I handle that? Sp7930 (talk) 19:32, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Sp7930 In general, for here you only need to show a diff for each article you edit. As each week will require two new (different) articles to be edited, this will likely not happen in this same way again. Also, what happened with the formatting of what you added here? Current with Week 3. FULBERT (talk) 13:39, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your feedback and for clarifying the requirements. I’ve corrected the formatting issues too.
- @Sp7930 Please remember to sign your posts in the future. FULBERT (talk) 15:11, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
Week3/ Santi2727
[edit]I edited the article Advanced driver-assistance system. Here is the diff. I learned that editing wiki article can feel rewarding on a personal level, knowing I have contributed to a topic that is accessible to anyone worldwide. Santi2727 (talk) 19:34, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Santi2727 Nice edit. Current with Week 3. FULBERT (talk) 15:12, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
Week3/Myeon
[edit]I edited the article Occupational safety and health, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Occupational_safety_and_health&wvprov=sticky-header. And here is the difference, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=1254608817&oldid=1252596392&title=Occupational_safety_and_health. And for the contribution to the article: The addition I added enriches the article by addressing how AI-related changes, especially in high-skilled sectors, are not only reshaping tasks but are also affecting occupational mental health. By including the psychological effects and turnover risks associated with job insecurity due to AI, this content broadens the understanding of industry-specific occupational health challenges in today’s technological landscape.
From this week's work, I become more familiar with how to edit an article in Wikipedia, and this experience help me to understand some references more deeply.
MyeonD (talk) 20:52, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- @MyeonD Nice edit. Current with Week 3. FULBERT (talk) 15:13, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
Week 3 / Mak9991

- @Mak9991 Nice edit. Current with Week 3. FULBERT (talk) 15:14, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
Week 3/ Qiuyi Y
[edit]I edited the article Unemployment. Here is the diff. I learned that the unemployment-to-population ratio provides a broader perspective on joblessness by including the entire population, whereas the unemployment rate focuses solely on those actively seeking employment within the labor force, highlighting the impact of educational enrollment on youth employment metrics.
Qiuyi Yang (talk) 19:40, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Qiuyi Y Nice edit. Current with Week 3. FULBERT (talk) 15:16, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
Week 3 / DOSTPIDE
[edit]I edited the article Workplace wellness. Here is the diff. I've learned that wellness programs can sometimes shift healthcare costs from employers to employees by tying health insurance rates to participation and success in wellness goals.
DOSTPIDE (talk) 19:57, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- @DOSTPIDE Nice edit. Current with Week 3. FULBERT (talk) 15:18, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
Week 3/Nyn218
[edit]I edited the article Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Here is the diff for my initial edit, and I made a second edit as well; the differences between the two can be viewed here diff . Editing the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood article taught me the importance of integrating new insights in a way that complements existing content. I learned to carefully match the tone and thematic structure of the section to ensure the added analysis flowed naturally with other critiques. Nyn218 (talk) 01:04, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Nyn218 Nice edit overall, but make sure in the future to continue using high-quality sources for your edits. Current with Week 3. FULBERT (talk) 15:20, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
Week 3/Roger0731
[edit]This week I edited the article Self-driving car. Here is the diff.Through this editing, I learned that most people's understanding of self-driving cars is at a relatively vague stage, and the lack of timely updated information makes people even more confused. Therefore, the latest and reliable information is very necessary. Roger0731 (talk) 20:35, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Roger0731 Nice edit. Current with Week 3. FULBERT (talk) 15:21, 5 November 2024 (UTC)

Week 3/ BJ2352
[edit]Hi, I edited the article Robotaxi. Here is the diff. This article gave me an idea of what robotaxi is and its current progress and future development direction. Currently, robotaxi is still in the testing phase and has encountered many obstacles. BJ2352 (talk) 22:14, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- @BJ2352 :Nice edits. Current with Week 3. FULBERT (talk) 15:25, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
Week 3/JANJAY10
[edit]I edited the article Climate change and food security in Africa. Here is the diff. I learned how to edit an article, add citations and published the findings. JANJAY10 (talk) 22:41, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- @JANJAY10 I see you fixed what was incorrect from above. Next time, you can edit what you did to correct it and not add an additional section. Your edits were done in italics, and they should have been done in regular text. Can you: 1. edit your edit and remove the italics, 2. combine your two sentences you added into a single paragraph, and 3. move the citation so it is after the period and not before it?
- Please do these three fixes and ping me here and I will review. FULBERT (talk) 15:29, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- After editing, when I'm publishing the changes, it freezes JANJAY10 (talk) 01:53, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
Week2/ nutnutt12
[edit]I edited https://w.wiki/Bosm, and here is the diff: https://w.wiki/Bosk
In the process, I learned how small additions can enhance the clarity and impact of an article. Incorporating additional insights not only enriches the content but also helps emphasize the practical applications of leadership theories, making the text more relatable and actionable for readers. Nutnutt12 (talk) 23:33, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Nutnutt12 Please provide the diff per WP:DIFF to your change and then ping me here. Please assign yourself this article in the Wiki Edu Dashboard and then ping me here. I will then take a look at it and reply. FULBERT (talk) 18:07, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
Week 3/ nutnutt12
[edit]This week I edited the article: https://w.wiki/AjoG Here is the diff: https://w.wiki/BovF.
Through this process, I learned the importance of properly attributing ideas to enhance the credibility of an article. Adding clarifying sentences also helped improve the overall coherence and depth of the discussion, making the arguments more compelling and easier for readers to understand. Additionally, including missing citations ensured that all statements were supported by credible sources, reinforcing the article's academic integrity. Nutnutt12 (talk) 01:37, 3 November 2024 (UTC)

Week3/ zw2306
[edit]This week I chose the article “Self-cultivation” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-cultivation to edit. I added a citation to the first sentence in the subsection “Theoretical Background” by addition citation and a reference. Here is Diff
This assignment helped me learn more about the topic, since it was a new subject for me. Being able to edit the article gave me a sense of accomplishment and the feeling of having contributed something of value. Zw2306 (talk) 21:43, 3 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Zw2306 Citations alone generally do not add value. Beyond adding a citation alone, make sure to provide a sentence or two within the article itself to express your contribution in context (which the citation will support). This will demonstrate how your addition adds to the overall knowledge in the article. Please add a sentence or two to the article you edited and then ping me here when done. Week 4/Myeon
[edit]So this week I edited two articles on the Wikipedia platform.
The first one is 'Job Satisificition.' For the session of 'Influencing factors', I add a topic about 'The Influence of Remote Work and Digital Transformation on Job Satisfaction'. This could have enriched the article by providing information about yet another factor influencing job satisfaction as companies move to a phase of digital transformation after the epidemic. Here is the article, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Job_satisfaction&wvprov=sticky-header. And here is the difference, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Job_satisfaction&diff=prev&oldid=1255600837.
The second one is 'Educational technology'. I added a new paragraph to the "Benefits" section, introducing the advantages of generative AI tools like ChatGPT in education. This addition highlights AI’s role in supporting personalized learning, motivating students, and aiding in complex tasks, thereby expanding the article's coverage of educational technology's benefits. Here is the article, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Educational_technology&wvprov=sticky-header. And here is the difference, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Educational_technology&diff=prev&oldid=1255606625.
With practicing using Wikipedia, the process taught me to adhere to neutral language and reliable sourcing, ensuring that contributions meet Wikipedia's standards. I also developed a deeper understanding of how to structure information to make it accessible to a broad audience. Overall, this practice enhanced my ability to contribute to collaborative knowledge-sharing platforms and strengthened my critical thinking and writing skills.

[edit]Summary of the Article Citation Added: The citation from The Economist (2014) supports details about The Tale of the Princess Kaguya’s unique visual style, describing how the film uses a storybook-like watercolor palette and expressive, sketchy lines. This artistic approach reflects the film's emotional depth and departs from typical computer-generated animation, emphasizing Studio Ghibli’s commitment to hand-drawn artistry.

Week 4/ nutnutt12
[edit]The first article I edited is https://w.wiki/Buam, and here is the differ: https://w.wiki/Buao.
I included a statement that highlights how creativity without execution is only a concept, but innovation results in tangible effects, to further clarify the difference between the two. The argument that innovation entails the implementation of creative ideas was strengthened by the extra sentence, which served to highlight the practical relevance of innovation in comparison to creativity.
The second article I edited is https://w.wiki/Buaz, and here is the differ: https://w.wiki/Bua$.
I included information about the practical and emotional barriers of cultural adjustment, such mental fatigue from juggling many cultural identities, vulnerability, and difficulties with everyday tasks.I also emphasized the psychological effects, concentrating on identity uncertainty, loneliness, and possible despair, particularly among overseas students. I also provided a reference to back up the section on the psychological impacts of cultural adjustment.
Through this process, I discovered how crucial it is to properly cite sources for statements made in order to bolster the argument and provide a clear link to reliable sources. I was able to improve the content's academic integrity and provide a deeper comprehension of the subjects covered by using citations. Nutnutt12 (talk) 04:47, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
