Week3 / Assignment 3/yf2196
Yifannn (talk) 06:41, 27 October 2021 (UTC) YiFan Feng
The last article was about "brunch" because it said that the English brunch was around eleven o'clock. I think there is no standard time for brunch. Because I should add a time period for brunch in this Wikipedia.
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Brunch&action=edit§ion=3
This time I upgraded according to the type I selected last time, and the Wikipedia article I chose for editing is this article about "time" content. It's because the previous Knowledge Encyclopedia article was about the time period of brunch, and the current article is the concept of time. What time is the morning defined by people? When is it early in the morning? But there seems to be no answer or standard information on this topic, and I am just participating and guessing. I didn't know about the evaluation of Wikipedia articles before in my impression, nor did I participate in the discussion. This extra points project has allowed me to learn a lot of things I haven't discovered before, and I hope I can learn more later.

Week 4/ Assignment 4/ yf2196
I added folklore to the origin of the Double Ninth Festival. It is a mythological and very ancient Chinese legend.
2. This is the link to the citation difference I added. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Double_Ninth_Festival&diff=1052619740&oldid=1050268118
3. From this assignment, I found that adding citations or materials can enhance persuasiveness and let us understand a certain event or story more comprehensively. And it’s important to keep the information comprehensive, because people are interested in related articles and will see more references and read more.
- Yifannn Please assign yourself this article in the Wiki Edu Dashboard and then ping me here. I will then take a look at it and reply. Please also remember to sign each of your posts using four tilde characters ~~~~ at the end. --- FULBERT (talk) 19:39, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
- Yifannn Please do this after we speak later this week. --- FULBERT (talk) 12:41, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
- Yifannn The content is good, though you do not have a credible and reliable source cited to provide evidence for what you added. Can you add a citation to support what you wrote and then ping me here when done and I will review? --- FULBERT (talk) 20:40, 11 November 2021 (UTC)

Week 5/ Assignment 5/ Notkc01
This is Kyle. Hope everyone is doing good. Here is my week 5 assignment.
1. I have explored some electric vehicle topics on the Wikipedia website and I ended up with one article that described the history of the Chinese subway and the overall development of the electric vehicle situation in China. I did a precious change about the specific timeframe of the origin of the Chinese subway in Beijing and added one citation on it.
2. Link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Electric_vehicle_industry_in_China&diff=1054010425&oldid=1051225050
3. The editing certainly helped me learn more about the history itself and I hope people searching from Wikipedia can all get the useful and correct information. Notkc01 (talk) 14:26, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
- Notkc01, Please assign yourself this article in the Wiki Edu Dashboard and then ping me here. I will then take a look at it and reply. FULBERT (talk) 12:54, 8 November 2021 (UTC)

update from week 2
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Brunch&action=edit§ion=3
I think that brunch should not have a fixed time limit. It almost depends on people's mood to decide the time for brunch. The restaurant can carry out its own brunch sales time without having to define this time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yifannn (talk • contribs) 05:10, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

Week 5/ Assignment 5/ Yifannn
1. I paid attention to the part about linguistics. The focus of the historical part should be on the beginning or event of history, not on the frame too much. . The history of linguistics is very old, I added some time about the earliest human language research language.
2. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Linguistics&diff=1053809836&oldid=1052939307
3. Through this exercise, I found that adding some knowledge points or literature is more important or more acceptable than structure or framework. Yifannn (talk) 05:50, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
- Yifannn, Please include your Wikipedia user name in the section title as per the instructions. Please revise and ping me when done and I will review. FULBERT (talk) 13:04, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
- Yifannn Please see how I renamed your post here using your Wikipedia User Name, which is requested in the assignment itself. Also, you added an interesting piece of information though it was reverted as you did not provide a citation to support your claim (similar to what I would mention in our class assignments themselves). Please add a citation to a credible, high-quality source and then ping me here again and I will review. --- FULBERT (talk) 20:51, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
Week 6/ Assignment 6/yf2196
1 Hotpot is one of China's original cuisines, and it is also a kind of food suitable for all ages. I added some descriptions about hot pot in Wikipedia.
2. This is the link to the citation difference I added. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hot_pot&diff=prev&oldid=1054702265
3. From this assignment, I found that adding some information can enrich the content of Wikipedia. It will also allow people who read later to get more resources and reference.Yifannn (talk) 17:07, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
- Yifannn, Part of this assignment involved adding a citation, which you did not do. Please add a citation to a credible source and ping me here and I will review. FULBERT (talk) 23:32, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
/* Week5 / Assignment 5/Cloi929 */
1. I live in Brooklyn and I found that there are many Niu Technologies brand shared scooter downstairs in my apartment. I registered and used it. I find it very convenient, especially when you don't want to walk! So I chose Niu Technologies as my article. And found some information on the official website to supplement .https://www.niu.com/us 2. diff; https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Niu_Technologies&diff=1054632943&oldid=1018824232 3. I found that this is a new entry, and there is not much information. This makes me feel very meaningful. The information I added will be easier for others to see. And when I checked the official website, I found that it was a Chinese brand. And I never hear that before. And I feel that my "weird knowledge" has increased again lol.Cloi929 (talk) 06:35, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
- Cloi929, Nice addition, and one of the few times it works to cite the company's website itself. Current for Week 5. FULBERT (talk) 23:33, 11 November 2021 (UTC)

Week 6/ Assignment 6/ Herry3999
1. The article I added was "Stock market cycles". It explains that stock market cycles are proposed patterns that proponents argue may exist in stock markets.
2. The link diff:https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Stock_market_cycles&type=revision&diff=1055319475&oldid=1023079138
3. In this process, I learned to find articles and add references to specific topics. It not only enriched my knowledge, but also trained my ability to explore knowledge. Herry3999 (talk) 05:12, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
- Herry3999, Please explain what happened with this edit you made, as it was removed and suppressed due to copyright violation. Remember, the same discussions we have in class about plagiarism count on editing Wikipedia, per the Plagiarism https://dashboard.wikiedu.org/training/students/plagiarism training you already took and completed. All article edits you make should be in your own words using a credible citation to support the claims you make. FULBERT (talk) 03:11, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
Week 7 / Assignment 7 / Herry3999
1. The article that I select is stock market prediction, I find some of the methods of prediction is outdated, so I add a new method to it. Another article that I chose is related to loans.
2. links of the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Stock_market_prediction&type=revision&diff=1056479589&oldid=1054652695 https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Loan&type=revision&diff=1056480772&oldid=1053364813
3. Through this assignment, I learned that some Wikipedia materials are not that accurate or outdated, so I need to update the information and add citations. Herry3999 (talk) 01:58, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
- Herry3999, Please explain what happened with this edit you made, as it was removed and suppressed due to copyright violation. Week 8 / Assignment 8 / Wikisun1952
1. Recently, I was reading an article about inbreeding. I found that some details in the article were not in place, so I added some content. The second article I chose was thermohaline circulation.
2. Link to the Diff: a. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Inbreeding_depression&type=revision&diff=1056456250&oldid=1042095426 b. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Thermohaline_circulation&type=revision&diff=1056456911&oldid=1052753006
3. Through this assignment, I learned that reference can help us to a great extent when we are looking for the information we need. Wikisun1952 (talk) 23:29, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- Wikisun1952 I reverted your edit as it was too close to the cited source. Remember, the same policies we use in class about editing count for Wikipedia as well. You need to restate things in your own words and then cite where you got the idea. Please redo this following this guidance and ping me here. --- FULBERT (talk) 03:22, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
Week 7 / Assignment 7 / Wikisun1952
1. When I read an article about automated cars, I found that some materials were not fully described, so I added some content. The second article that I use is system modeling.
2. Link to the diff: Vehicular automation: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Vehicular_automation&type=revision&diff=1056452507&oldid=1056215866 System modeling: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Systems_modeling&type=revision&diff=1056453705&oldid=1042933266
3. Wiki is my main way to search for information that I need, but I learned to understand one thing from many aspects and make sure that these materials are up-to-date. Wikisun1952 (talk) 22:28, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- Wikisun1952, I reverted this for the same plagiarism concerns. Taking the words from another site word-for-word is a serious violation of academic and professional standards. Please redo this edit. FULBERT (talk) 03:26, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
Week 9 / Assignment 9/ Wikisun1952
1. Recently, I was reading an article on immigration policy. I found it a little outdated, so I updated some content. As Thanksgiving is coming, I read some articles about tourism and diving. The second article I chose was recurrent diving.
2. links to diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Immigrant_investor_programs&type=revision&diff=1056458941&oldid=1049091032 https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Recreational_diving&type=revision&diff=1056460312&oldid=1044641312
3. Through this assignment, I learned how to add correct references to wikis and how to extract effective and timely information.
4. Through this study of extra credits, I learned that the biggest advantage of Wikipedia is that it has strict copyright management, and the appropriate editing threshold limits some users who edit at will. Editors are distributed in all corners of the world, engaged in all kinds of work, some people focus on one thing, some have a wide range of hobbies. In a word, they are ordinary people. We can find a lot of relevant and useful materials through Wikipedia. I learned how to add citations to an article and how to consult relevant materials. I will continue to edit Wikipedia because it has become a miracle of the Internet. There are too many such people working for the openness and freedom of information. Wikisun1952 (talk) 23:28, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- Wikisun1952, Please revise this one due to the same concerns as above. FULBERT (talk) 03:28, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
