Week 8/Respond to Peer Review/ Rayray411

This week, I haven't received feedback from others. Therefore, I completed another peer review and the article is about trance music. Trance music is one of my favorite types of music and through the article, I had a more complete understanding of it. This is the link to the peer review: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Irisnan1009/Trance_music/Rayray411_Peer_Review?preload=Template%3ADashboard.wikiedu.org_peer_review. Meanwhile, I also added one more citation to the article. The article is about Staples Center in Los Angeles. This is the link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Staples_Center&diff=929702013&oldid=929479627. Rayray411 (talk) 17:25, 7 December 2019 (UTC)

Rayray411, Great edits. Current. FULBERT (talk) 18:57, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

Week 9/Moving your work to Wikipedia/ Rayray411

This week, I learned how to use the sandbox and how to move my work to Wikipedia. In my opinion, the sandbox is a useful tool to help us modify the article more successfully. Sometimes, there are many sections that I am willing to make contributions to. By using the sandbox, these changes can be held and it provides me more chances to do further modification. Rayray411 (talk) 17:38, 7 December 2019 (UTC)

Rayray411, Current. FULBERT (talk) 18:57, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

Week 10/Add an image/ Rayray411

This week, I learned how to add an image to the article. The article I edited is about Lebron James, a really famous superstar in the NBA. Adding an image contributes to a vivid description of the topic, which makes the article easier to read. During this procedure, I noticed that most images from the internet have their copyright and they are not allowed to be used without permission. Owing to Wikipedia, it provides me with many images that I can use so that I can complete it successfully. This is the link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=LeBron_James&diff=929696360&oldid=928978784. Rayray411 (talk) 17:57, 7 December 2019 (UTC)

Rayray411, I saw your image was removed; did you understand what the reviewer stated as to the reason? FULBERT (talk) 18:58, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

Week 11/Expand article/ Rayray411

This week, I chose to add one more image to expand my article. Adding an image creates a straight and vivid way to improve the overall understanding and makes the article more attractive. The article is about Staples Center and I added a panoramic view of the court which enables readers to have a better visual feeling. This is my second time to add an image to the article and this time, I did it more successfully. This is my link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Staples_Center&diff=929479627&oldid=929200985. Rayray411 (talk) 18:11, 7 December 2019 (UTC)

Rayray411, Nice addition. FULBERT (talk) 18:59, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

Week 12/Final article/ Rayray411

I reviewed the checklist and I have finished all of the work on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia that everyone can read and edit. During this semester, basically, I have a good command of editing on Wikipedia. Whatsmore, I learned how to evaluate articles from a neutral point of view. When editing Wikipedia, I have to collect neutral facts from reliable resources and present them in a balanced way. Also, I learned to consider things from a critical perspective, which enables me to have a better choice when collecting data. In summary, doing the Wikipedia assignment benefits me a lot and I will continue to do this in the future. Rayray411 (talk) 02:13, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

Rayray411, Thanks for sharing your thoughts here, and I hope you continue editing in the future. Let me know if you ever need assistance with it. FULBERT (talk) 18:59, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

Week 10/Add image Update/Ygplusplus

Hellp, Professor. I add a picture for different article. The link is https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Peet%27s_Coffee&type=revision&diff=929855167&oldid=927351133. I add the picture for peet's new prodcuts called New Golden Cold Brew Fog and New Golden Matcha Latte. Thank you so much. Ygplusplus (talk) 18:18, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

Ygplusplus, I saw your image was reverted, and I agree with the reasoning that editor presented - did you see that? Current on this part of the assignment for your efforts. FULBERT (talk) 19:02, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

Week 8/Respond to Peer Review/ sophie007007

I haven't received feedback from others. I completed another peer review and the article is about wildfire. I would like to get more information on the background of my paper on the causes and factors related to wildfire. This is the link to the peer review: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Sophie007007/Wildfire/Sophie007007_Peer_Review preload=Template%3ADashboard.wikiedu.org_peer_review. Week 10/Add an image/ sophie007007

From training module, I learned how to add an image to the article. The article I edited is about Chanel. I noticed that a clear image could attract reader attention as well as better understanding of the brand. From the lesson, I realize that the copy right and citation both are very important for wiki. Everyone should keep those in mind in daily life. This is the link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chanel Sophie007007 (talk) 12:31, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

Week12/final review/sophie007007

The extra credit assignment actually give me a chance to contribute to others. As student, we always take stuff from other, but it would be nice that we could also help others. Wiki allows us to contribute in an easy and convenient way. I learned how to edit, insert citations, and add image to wiki by completed the modules. From evolution, I understand how to read a page from lead to media, I understand which points I should focus on and how to improve. I added some examples to some of the sections to keep the page up to date. In the peer review, I learned from other about how to expand an article. The experiences of editing wiki has been an amazing one, I will look forward to contribute to wiki family in the future. Sophie007007 (talk) 13:00, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

Sophie007007, I am glad you found this useful, and hope you continue editing even after the course concludes. Let me know if you need any assistance with Wikipedia editing in the future. FULBERT (talk) 19:09, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

This formatting was a little unusual here, so I fixed it. For the edit you did, the source you added was reverted in part because it was an opinion site without credible or reliable information LuChen2019. --- FULBERT (talk) 15:35, 14 December 2019 (UTC)

this is the person that I reviewed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:HickoryOughtShirt%3F4 The difference between previous page https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=New_York_Fashion_Week&diff=919067864&oldid=919067787 this is my page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:LuChen2019/New_York_Fashion_Show/LuChen2019_Peer_Review and what i added https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:LuChen2019/Fashion/LuChen2019_Peer_Review&diff=930531809&oldid=930531233 I searched New York Fashion Week because it is more specific compare to last article that I reviewed. week 9 / More Your Work to WIKI / LuChen2019

from this chapter, I learned how to add content to an existing article, how to create a new article, how to move a page. I moved New York Fahion Week to a new page. LuChen2019 (talk) 03:59, 13 December 2019 (UTC)Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).

LuChen2019, Where is the work that you were supposed to move to the article itself, which was part of this assignment related to improving this article? FULBERT (talk) 15:40, 14 December 2019 (UTC)

Week 11/Expand article/ LuChen2019

I move New York Fashion Week information to New York Fashion Week NYFW because I think this is more clearly to describe the name. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=New_York_Fashion_Week_NYFW&diff=930534583&oldid=930534544 now I Learned how to add new informations, move the name and add new images. LuChen2019 (talk) 04:12, 13 December 2019 (UTC)Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).

LuChen2019, What you did was reverted as it was not adding to the article but making a significant change to it that was not discussed. This was out of the scope of this assignment, which was focused on adding citations and missing information. FULBERT (talk) 15:42, 14 December 2019 (UTC)

Week12/final review/LuChen

This extra credit is a really good chance for us to learned how to edit, add, move in Wikipedia. At the beginning of this homework, I was really confused about it, I don't know how to add a reference after I added new information. But now, I know. Through this process, I searched about fashion and e-commerce, I added 2019 top ten fashion trends in fashion, I added an image in New York Fashion Week NYFW. All of this work helped me to know Wikipedia and I really enjoy it. LuChen2019 (talk) 04:17, 13 December 2019 (UTC)Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).

LuChen2019, I appreciate your thoughts on this, and will offer to assist in the future to help guide your work as it is easy to make changes in Wikipedia, but more difficult if it involves adding to articles that we then want to remain as-is. Let me know if I can ever assist in the future. FULBERT (talk) 15:43, 14 December 2019 (UTC)

Reviewer of the Year

This year's Reviewer of the Year is Rosguill. Having gotten the reviewer PERM in August 2018, they have been a regular reviewer of articles and redirects, been an active participant in the NPP community, and has been the driving force for the emerging NPP Source Guide that will help reviewers better evaluate sourcing and notability in many countries for which it has historically been difficult.

Special commendation again goes to Onel5969 who ends the year as one of our most prolific reviewers for the second consecutive year. Thanks also to Boleyn and JTtheOG who have been in the top 5 for the last two years as well.

Several newer editors have done a lot of work with CAPTAIN MEDUSA and DannyS712 (who has also written bots which have patrolled thousands of redirects) being new reviewers since this time last year.

Thanks to them and to everyone reading this who has participated in New Page Patrol this year.

Redirect autopatrol

A recent Request for Comment on creating a new redirect autopatrol pseduo-permission was closed early. New Page Reviewers are now able to nominate editors who have an established track record creating uncontroversial redirects. At the individual discretion of any administrator or after 24 hours and a consensus of at least 3 New Page Reviewers an editor may be added to a list of users whose redirects will be patrolled automatically by DannyS712 bot III.

Source Guide Discussion

Set to launch early in the new year is our first New Page Patrol Source Guide discussion. These discussions are designed to solicit input on sources in places and topic areas that might otherwise be harder for reviewers to evaluate. The hope is that this will allow us to improve the accuracy of our patrols for articles using these sources (and/or give us places to perform a WP:BEFORE prior to nominating for deletion). Please watch the New Page Patrol talk page for more information.

This month's refresher course

While New Page Reviewers are an experienced set of editors, we all benefit from an occasional review. This month consider refreshing yourself on Wikipedia:Notability (geographic features). Also consider how we can take the time for quality in this area. For instance, sources to verify human settlements, which are presumed notable, can often be found in seconds. This lets us avoid the (ugly) 'Needs more refs' tag.
