Your article draft
Welcome. I had to move your draft from your userpage to User:Mehediabedin/Historical Places in Bangladesh where you can work on it. I cleaned it up a bit as well.--Auric talk 17:06, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Tongi Govt. College
Hello Mehediabedin,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Tongi Govt. College for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Speedy deletion nomination of Tongi Govt. College
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Tongi Govt. College requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.nubd.info/college/college.php?code=5511. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disambiguation link notification for November 23
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Cox's Bazar–Teknaf Marine Drive, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Marine Drive. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:20, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Cox's Bazar into Cox's Bazar Beach. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 15:30, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

Teknaf Beach moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Teknaf Beach, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Uttara (Town), it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 20:58, 21 July 2021 (UTC)

Move of Azampur
Hi, Mehediebedin. I see that you moved the article Azampur to the title Azampur, Uttara. The relevant guideline on placenames in Bangladesh says to only use commas like that if necessary to disambiguate with some other title, which doesn't seem to be the case here. For that reason, I've reversed the move. If you still see good reason that the page should be at Azampur, Uttara, you are welcome to start a requested move. Accept reason:
I saw your message at my talk page, and I would appreciate it if you helped rewrite the articles listed at the CCI and I am open to unblocking you. However, I would like to see what your rewrites would look like before unblocking you. You can still edit the "User:" space; why don't you rewrite an article of yours that you know has issues in your sandbox? That would be a good demonstration of how you've learned to better phrase your writing. MoneytreesTalk🏝️ 03:33, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
@Moneytrees: Thank you. I will rewrite an article in my sandbox and give you message in your talk page. Mehedi Abedin 12:59, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
Sursoptok underpass rewrite
I've seen your rewrite at User:Mehediabedin/sandbox/Sursoptok underpass and it is a definite improvement, although there are still some issues. The portion 'Modern technology has been used in the construction of this underpass constructed by 24 Engineer Brigade of Bangladesh Army. Built at a cost of Taka 57 crore, this underpass has a museum
", for example; the phrases "the construction of this underpass" and "Built at a cost of" are identical to the source and need to be reworded. There's some other problems with that portion outside of copyright issues; understanding how to string together your words and structure your sentences in a way that makes sense is a key part of avoiding copyright issues. The phrase "Modern technology" is vague and should be removed or replaced with a more specific phrase- what technology was used? If you don't know, then just remove it. The sentence, "...used in the construction of this underpass constructed by 24 Engineer Brigade of Bangladesh Army" is redundant and can be better phrased, I would change it to something like "...was used in the underpass's construction by the...".
Other issue of phrases too close to or copied from the source are "underpass in the country
" (The sentence it's in is unsourced and could just be removed), "students were killed in a
", "The decision to build an underpass
", and "The foundation stone of the underpass was laid
". These need to be rewritten or removed. If you have any further questions, please ask. Moneytrees🏝️Talk 01:37, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
@Moneytrees: Done according to your instructions. That was tricky for me because google translator shows same english word for different bengali words and I had to chose appropriate words for them. Let me know if there are any issues need to be solved. Mehedi Abedin 12:06, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
- Your rewrite appears fine to me from a copyright perspective, I made some minor non-copyright related rewrites. You're getting a lot closer to having no copyright issues, I think it would be a good idea if you did another rewrite of an article with your gained knowledge from this rewrite. If that rewrite turns out well, it will be a big help to getting you unblocked. If you have any questions during that rewrite or about anything else, please ask. Moneytrees🏝️Talk 22:49, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
@Moneytrees: Then I am rewriting another article and will notify you. Mehedi Abedin 11:59, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for your rewrite of Rajlokkhi Complex, I made some minor changes to be more concise and improve readability before pasting it into mainspace, there were no real copyright issues with it. You've made great progress with your rewrites and I am ready to unblock, I would appreciate it if you helped rewrite the articles currently at Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/20220331 afterwards. If you have any further questions, please ask. Moneytrees🏝️Talk 22:16, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
@Moneytrees: I will rewrite all. They are all valuable article and I don't want to loss them. I have a question, when I complete rewrite an article, should I inform you after that or you will check them yourself? Mehedi Abedin 22:21, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- You shouldn't have to run them by me, listing the pages you've rewritten in your sandbox or commenting under their listing at the CCI would be fine. Moneytrees🏝️Talk 23:13, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

White supremacist bias on articles about India
I would like to have a discussion in regards to this. The Aryan race theory is a 19th century idea created by the British to forge a racist idea. We must call this out.
I have plenty of evidence to show that this theory is false. Would you like to do some research on this issue?
An Aryan invasion has been debunked already
Aryan migrations have not been proven
DNA evidence shows that migrations occurred from Sindh and Gujarat towards Iran, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Caucasus, not the other way around.
All the best.

Deletion discussion about Jashimuddin Avenue

Pabna Mental Hospital
I did a slight copyedit to Pabna Mental Hospital. The article makes sense to me, except for the "There is a crisis of doctors and patients in the hospital. Despite the influence of the brokers in the hospital, no action has been taken against them yet.[7] No action has been taken to recover a portion of the hospital's land that is occupied by Satsang." What is the crisis and what is Satsang? I reviewed the DYK nomination and passed it, but I might have to reopen it. SL93 (talk) 22:20, 2 July 2022 (UTC)
@SL93: The crisis is the hospital doesn’t have enough doctors (writing patients was my mistake). There are brokers who contact with patients and encourage them to go to another mental hospital. But the hospital authority didn’t take action. Satsang is a religious organisation established by Anukulchandra Chakraborty (I mentioned his name in DYK and article). The East Bengal provincial government of Pakistan bought his land to establish the hospital. But now the present Satsang organisation occupied lands of the hospital. If you want then I will explain the whole thing to the article. But if you want then you can do it for me. Mehedi Abedin 22:29, 2 July 2022 (UTC)
- I changed it more. What do you think of my changes? SL93 (talk) 22:37, 2 July 2022 (UTC)

Or there is a better way to upload, edit the infobox of the article. Write in the "|image =" section like that "File:NAME_OF_THE_FILM.jpg" then save your edit. Then click on the file name in the infobox. It will bring you to upload wizard. In the blank box you have to write photo rational. A sample of rational can be find in File:Poster of Masud Rana film (1974).jpg (just copy the code of "Summary" section and edit on your own. Select "Any kind of poster" for license option. @Robertjocos: According to the deletion nominations the sources used in the articles only mentions the name of film, but the sources don't describe the filmmaking or film update. Such type of articles will be deleted because its the rules of Wikipedia. If you want to make film article then you have to choose a notable topic that has sources that tells the production, marketing, release, and background of the film. And you better fit to this category so it is not lie. And no need to mention that my purpose was not to offend you in any means. Then you said, "I am a Bangladeshi Wikipedian and you too. So I tried to became friends each others..." but that's not you said in your previous message. In your previous message you said different. It means - (1) You are maybe lying because my words unintentionally hurt you, or (2) talking about soccer related article was actually a excuse to talk with me, or (3) you are hiding something. "I am a Bangladeshi Wikipedian and you too." - Yes of course I am. And I have good relation with other Bangladeshi Wikipedians. But the difference between you and them is I know them for many months and I met you today.
Listen, friendship is priceless thing. And it is wonderful too. But the thing is no friendship is born in one day. It take many times. You can't meet a person and tell them to be friend right now. Process of friendship should be natural. So there is no need to be offended if some stranger like me calling you stranger. Learn to accept the reality. If you want to someone's friend then take the time to the process be complete. Good luck with your friend finding. Mehedi Abedin 12:22, 4 September 2022 (UTC)

- Hello, Mehediabedin,
- Sorry for all of these CSD notices. They are all the result of you removing one category from one page. Once the "child category" was emptied, all of these parent categories were effectively empty as well. As you probably know, empty categories sit for a week before being deleted in case they are no longer empty. And, if they are deleted, they can always be recreated with no problems. Liz Read! Hello, Mehediabedin,
I just wanted to apologize for my comment in the relisting on the AFD about your indecision about PRODding this article. It was, as we say in the U.S., a "snarky" comment, meaning saything something critical, in a sarcastic manner. To be honest, I've been closing AFD discussions since January 2022 and it's not the first time I've seen an editor put a PROD tag on an article and then change their mind and send it to AFD instead. My comment was unnecessary, I should have simply said that the article wasn't eligible for a Soft Deletion and have left it at that. I appreciated your explanation but you shouldn't have felt it was necessary. Any way, I just wanted to say this and thank you for your contributions to the project. Happy editing! Liz Read! Talk! 03:45, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
@Liz: No problem. Actually I didn’t removed prod tag for my indecision. My objective was to AFD it. There is an interesting story behind it. The thing is I was more active in Bengali Wikipedia. There isn’t PROD option. So when I first saw PROD, AFD etc options I couldn’t understand what is the button for AFD (well they are shortened name). So I mistakenly clicked PROD and that started the problem. I am not good in English and that's the problem. For the same problem I got in copyvio issue in past because I thought that translated texts are not copyright infringement (lol). Now I am more active in this Wikipedia because I want to create articles about cultures, history, memes of my country. So see this is misunderstanding. Maybe I could first explain in the AFD that why I removed PROD then you all could understand... Or I could keep the PROD tag and remember to not do the same mistake. But I appreciate your message about this issue. Thanks. Mehedi Abedin 03:59, 29 September 2022 (UTC)

Modhuban Cineplex moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Modhuban Cineplex, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 13:02, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
3O decline
Please be advised that I have declined your filing at WP:3O. As the name implies, the third opinion noticeboard is explicitly for requesting a third opinion in cases where two editors, and only two editors, disagree on a matter. The discussion that you linked to has significantly more than two editors involved. You are welcome to consider other forms of dispute resolution. Cheers. DonIago (talk) 14:14, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
@Doniago: No problem. It's not that I am not aware of the rule. The discussion was started with many users, it is true. But later I proposed a lead section to resolve and that's when a user disagreed about the proposed section and that time no other user disagreed and only we two were involved. That's why I thought that I should use 3O. Mehedi Abedin 14:17, 16 November 2022 (UTC)

Recently I have gotten in a dispute with a Wikipedian for the photo of the infobox in Economy of Bangladesh. The person who got in edit war with another wikipedian for the photo mentioned me in the talk page of the article and I noticed that his proposed photo wasn’t' suitable enough. The other Wikipedian felt the same way but the person who mentioned me couldn’t accept our choice and said some baseless things to us. He didn’t want to remove his photo from the article. I had not way but submit this issue to Dispute Resolution, and it worked well and the volunteer selected a better photo for the article. At the same time he gotten in another edit war with several editors in Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and I mentioned them to its talk page to resolve the issue. Later I proposed them a new lead section to stop edit war and some editors liked the idea. I present a draft lead section for the article but he accused me that I am doing this because I am "politically motivated". But he didn’t show how my act was politically motivated. He showed faults in my proposed section and I fixed them. He doubt that Mujib wasn’t' in Kolkata before partition and he told me indirectly that I am lacking in history knowledge and I should not edit the page. But in replay I showed sources that Mujib was in Kolkata even after partition. In reply he didn’t said anything. So I thought that he has no objection and changed the articles' lead section. But he reverted my action showing some strange reasons. He wrote that "he left ML to form AML. you are promoting a revisionist version of history with little credibility." But it is not correct historically because he was first dismissed from ML, so I am not promoting revisionist version of history here. He said that "the previous one was better." If is this the case then why didn’t he said that earlier in the talk page? And instead of reverting my action he could propose edits to make the lead section better but he didn’t. He also said that "there is no consensus in favor of your edits". For Bangladesh related edits we can't get consensus easily because the Bangladeshi Wikipedians aren't so interested in to give consensus or discussion. But they didn’t give consensus that doesn’t mean that they aren't agree with my edit. After his revert I asked him in the article's talk page but didn’t answer. Today I sent a message in his talk page to solve the issue in DRN. He was editing in articles but not matter what I do he don't reply. It is clear that he will not answer to my message and he will not help me to create better lead section (new lead section is important because if we don't change it then another edit war will happen in future). But he is not cooperating. And I suspect that no matter what he will revert my actions in the article if I try to replace the lead article with better one. So I need advice for that.
- What should I do in this situation?
- Can admins take action against him for not cooperate or reply to my message but revert my action?
- Is getting consensus for the proposed lead section necessary if the proposed section are not too controversial or users don't care to give consensus?
- Is it possible to get help of an admin directly and unofficially instead of report his behaviour to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents?
- I said him "You need to think carefully before saying anything" because he said me "Its very difficult to improve content when you put up obstacles like this for no reason (and sometimes, for politically-motivated reasons)". I said that because he said me and another user some things that we shouldn’t say. And he is accusing me of bullying him. If I submit this in administrator's noticeboard and if he accuse me of bullying him again how admin panel will see me? Is it clearly bullying or is there any room to explain this?
- Can you advice me further for the situation? What I want just change the lead section with better one. I have no personal issue with him. But looks like he wants to make it personal intentionally.

- It does indeed sound like a trip to ANI may be necessary. I would advise, though, that you keep your opening statement short(ish) and to the point; other editors do not want to read through 4k of text to determine if there's an issue. Provide links to discussions and let those links do the majority of the talking. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, or Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Please describe your changes
Hey Mehedi,
Thanks for all your work on Bengali transportation topics! It's great to see the topic getting good coverage on Wikipedia. I just wanted to take a moment to ask you to please include edit summaries when editing articles. It's helpful for those of us who are tracking the way an article develops and who want to help out.
While I'm here, I was curious about one thing. I'm assuming you're from Bangladesh, so you might be able to help me out here: do you know why the Metro Rail only runs for 6 hours a day? How are people expected to use the system? Are they expected to just walk back home in the afternoon? Are there problems with the electrical grid?
Regards,

- @David12345 Actually the MRT Line 6 isn’t completed yet. There are some stations are under construction. There are 9 active stations government want to test, and the government know that very well that if they run it for wider range of time then probably it will not have enough passengers. That's why it only runs for 6 hours/day. People were very excited about the line before the inauguration because they thought that they could save money by using this as their daily transportation. But now it become costly (comparably expansive ticket price) so a great number of people use it as an amusement ride or for fun! (and I am not joking). But there are some students, working class people who mainly use it for morning ride. For afternoon, people don't need to worry because bus is more efficient than metro. But three stations in Uttara is situated at newly developed real estate area, so residents of Sector 15, 16 and 17 are in trouble I guess, but yes of course there are rickshaws. I am not aware about any problem with the electrical grid. Mehedi Abedin 15:19, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
- Very interesting. So the current line is basically not expected to be used for practical purposes? Very strange, especially since you added that it is the single most expensive line ever built in Asia? A bold claim, especially when it was built aboveground to save on construction cost, and some chinese systems have gigantic, largely underground metro projects. What do you mean when you say that residents of Sector 15, 16 and 17 are in trouble? Is the metro going to be built into their neighbourhoods, requiring demolition? I hope you don't mind, but I plan to include some [clarification needed] templates in the articles on the Dhaka Metro, since some of it seems very confusing from a foreign perspective.David12345 (talk) 16:24, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
- @David12345 The three sectors don't have many residents and very few bus give service there. That's why after afternoon they can't use metro and to find better transportation they have to walk or use private car. And the line is expansive because in Motijheel the government have to demolish many commercial buildings to extend it to Kamalapur. It requires additional money. And honestly, I don't know why it costs too much. By the way, you can give tag to the Dhaka Metro articles. I will try to c/e them. Mehedi Abedin 16:40, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
