Care to explain what happened with this edit? Elizium23 (talk) 02:32, 1 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, I was not aware of that. At that time I used an extension that replaced the word cloud with butt:[1]. It's a bit of a joke on the constant use of the word cloud as a buzzword in technology circles. I was not aware it also changed my input. Sorry! Lincoln (film)

[edit]

I see that you undid my edit. I know that "achieving an end" is an English idiom. However in this case, when I first read the sentence, I inferred that it was about "ceasing the abolishing of slavery", i.e. re-introducing slavery. I had to re-read the sentence to correctly understand it. I then edited the sentence to make it more easily understandable, so that other readers wouldn't make the same mistake that I had. Hey Axl, thanks for taking the time to talk about this. I can see how you might read it that way. I've made an edit that would achieve both aims. Could you take a look and see what you think? David12345 (talk) 12:55, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's fine. :-) Axl ¤ [Talk] 18:10, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please write a long satisfying lead section for the MRT Line 6? The current lead section is okay but it is too short. Mehedi Abedin 14:25, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Mehedi, thanks for getting in touch. I'm happy to help, of course. I'm not sure if length is necessarily something to aim for, rather we should aim to fully summarize the article for people trying to get a quick overview. If I compare the article to other high-quality transit articles, here are some things that are typically featured in the lead:
  • The basic statistics (lenght, number of stations)
  • An brief overview of its history
  • Usage statistics (number of passengers)
  • Some information about the features of the stations and the trains
From what I can see, most of this is already present in this lead. I'm also wary of adding too much myself, since I really know almost nothing about Dhaka or Bangladesh. I would love to include a description of how the line sits within the city landscape (does it go from suburbs to the center, what major landmarks are connected, what kind of travelers are they aiming for), but I simply don't know enough about the context to do so.
A lot of the leads spend time describing how the lines relate to other lines on the network. This simply isn't possible yet for Dhaka.
These are just some of my thoughts. I'll be following the Bangladesh articles, but I'll mostly aim to make sure they fit in with the rest of Wikipedia with regards to clarity and specificity. David12345 (talk) 09:24, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
