can you try to help me edit the wiki page and up load it. You are doing amazing work. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Mark_O%27Leary 2001:BB6:7F9:2658:8D6:1C63:173D:62E8 (talk) 23:01, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for the contribution.

I see an error message - Cite error: A list-defined reference named "source15" is not used in the content (see the help page). and I dont know how to fix it because "source15" appears at the end of press coverage and response section Is that something you would be kind enough to help out with (this is my first submission to Wikepedia) TheUrbanArtivist (talk) 16:38, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In 18 years of editing here I have not come across your style of citing sources! I will have look. Theroadislong (talk) 16:41, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The reference at the end of "press coverage and response section" is source 2 not 15? Theroadislong (talk) 16:44, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Clara Miller Entry

[edit]

The subject of the article is a major figure in philanthropy.

You told me that her awards weren't "notable" -- she won the Prince's Prize for Philanthropy, which is a huge award in the field. I included a reference to it and included reference to the Crown Prince of Monaco who awarded it to her.

I am so confused how editors who don't know anything about philanthropy are then tasked with deciding what constitutes "notability" within the field.

If you could provide me with concrete suggestions, I would be happy to include them. I don't profess to be a professional Wikipedia drafter, but I do find myself confounded by this very arbitrary seeming process. Adamewhite (talk) 18:17, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You say that the Prince's Prize for Philanthropy is a "huge award", but it has no Wikipedia article, and references need to be independent of the subject. See WP:GNG for Wikpedia's notability criteria and please note that press releases are not reliable independent sources. Theroadislong (talk) 18:23, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The sole measure of the notability of an award is a Wikipedia page? The reference I included is to the foundation that awarded it to provide direct evidence she won it.
However, I've also now included an article from the major business newspaper Crain's New York, which remarks upon her winning the award.
Is that sufficient? Adamewhite (talk) 18:35, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It contributes zero to any notability I'm afraid. Theroadislong (talk) 18:39, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Resubmitting AfC declines

[edit]

Hi, just checking that you know you can resubmit declined AfC drafts yourself, if you think they've been declined improperly? When you run the AFCH script and select "submit", it allows you to resubmit on behalf of the previous submitter, so they'll still get the accept notice. -- asilvering (talk) 16:08, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Asilvering Oh...thanks for that, I'd not noticed that before. Theroadislong (talk) 16:24, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't learn about it either until the last backlog drive. We probably ought to add a "what to do if you spot an inappropriate decline" section to the AfC instructions... -- asilvering (talk) 16:32, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Editing on Wikipedia

[edit]

Hi there this is my first time editing on Wikipedia but so far I am very disappointed I edited an article to Turkiye which is the correct name of the country and incl 2024 Syrian Wildfires yet they have both been removed. Please explain why this was done? Thanks. Andrewworley048 (talk) 17:34, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The article is called 2024 Turkey wildfires, changing it to 2024 Turkiye wildfires made it a red link and 2024 Syria wildifires does not exist. Theroadislong (talk)

[edit]

you would go out of your way to try to delete an article about a service with 11 million active users while simultaneously thinking it's cool to create articles about a guy who painted birds on ceramic plates. WTF. can you imagine that there might be people out there with different values from your own? just stop it. you're wasting everyone's time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 135.180.49.239 (talk) 04:15, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The article was tagged for 9 years for primary sourced promo, if you can find indpendent sources with significant coverage just add them and it will be kept, that I wrote an article about Seth Cardew is totally irrelevant. Theroadislong (talk) 08:27, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dan Barouch

[edit]

Hi, It seems that something irregular is occurring at the article for Dan Barouch following a COI edit request. You and I have both been reverted by an IP address who, by the looks of things, is the same end user as the account for the subject of the article, i.e. user:Dan H Barouch. I will re-revert, but would appreciate your input. Kind regards, Axad12 (talk) 17:42, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it's rather tiresome isn't it. Theroadislong (talk) 18:22, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
sorry about that. Dan H Barouch (talk) 19:20, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Draft submission

[edit]

Quite a few improvements I guess since the last one. The movie is now available on Amazon Prime and other streaming platforms as well. There are also quite a bit of reviews available for the movie linked in website. They also held a premiere of the movie, which is also linked in the article. Taramayatamang (talk) 16:06, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews are helpful, but being available on Amazon Prime and other streaming platforms doesn't make the film notable, neither does a premiere. Theroadislong (talk) 17:01, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
so what else does one have to provide sir ? Taramayatamang (talk) 20:39, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your draft Draft:A Place Under the Sun (2024 film) has a lot of unsourced content still and you need to show that the film passes WP:NFILM then re-submit for review, good luck. Theroadislong (talk) 21:17, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
hello sir I have edited out unsourced contents and have added more source materials and citations. could you please take a look at it sir ? Taramayatamang (talk) 17:21, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Lateral Drop Submission

[edit]

Heyo Theroadislong Im a long time freestyle wrestler who is sure about everything in the article but I am having a rough time finding resources more precise than the ones I have cited. Some I have found to be marginally better but they are all behind paywalls, can you help me in any way? SheneganShaw (talk) 20:38, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Re draft Draft:Lat Drop references behind a pay wall are fine, please add them. Theroadislong (talk) 22:40, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well thats the issue, I'm unable to read them to cite exact pages. SheneganShaw (talk) 00:50, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can you recheck my article please

can you recheck my article , I think I fixed all issues that you commented. Draft:Pcx1_Present Bandara Dissanayake (talk) 15:50, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Feedback on Revised Draft Submission

[edit]

Dear Theroadislong,

I hope this message finds you well. On October 27, 2024, my draft article about Gaetano Minale was rejected with the feedback that "the references in this presentation do not demonstrate that the topic is suitable for a Wikipedia article." Since then, I have revised the draft, updating and adapting it in line with Wikipedia's guidelines and your previous comments. If you could kindly review the changes or provide further guidance, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Best regards, InfoExpertWriter InfoExpertWriter (talk) 19:00, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft was declined not rejected and there has been no improvement since, adding two external links to a blog and a catalogue of theirs isn't helpful. Theroadislong (talk) 19:05, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for reviewing and responding to the draft. I appreciate your input and the clarification about the sources. I wanted to ask for your guidance on one point: Gaetano Minale, the subject of the draft, is 86 years old, and many of his significant achievements, especially those from the 1960s-1990s, are documented in physical catalogs, awards, and books that he has preserved in his archive. Due to the era, these are not available on independent websites or digital platforms.
Would scans or photographs of these original documents be considered acceptable references? If not, could you please suggest any alternative ways to cite or validate these achievements within Wikipedia’s guidelines?
I appreciate your time and any advice you can provide. InfoExpertWriter (talk) 04:40, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sources do not have to be online but they do have to be published, photographs of original documents are not acceptable. Books are absolutely fine, just give the publisher mame, title and page number. Theroadislong (talk) 09:02, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your thoughts on Gerard Gertoux would be appreciated

[edit]

I accepted it at AFC (after requesting removal of create protection), and have subsequently decided I was incorrect and sent it to AFD. One of those actions was good, probably. It's a complex set of references and article wording, and exposure to bright light would be useful. Getting to the meat through all the mashed potatoes is difficult. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 23:19, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I did look at it briefly when you sent it to AFD, and decided it was such a mish mash of an article I couldn't come to any decision at all. I'll have a look in the morning when I'm more refreshed. Theroadislong (talk) 23:24, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

On Notability + Primary Sources for David Steinberg article

[edit]

Hi, I see that you looked at the article I just drafted. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Steinberg_(journalist_and_photographer) I have addressed both the issues of notability and primary sources on the talk page article here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:David_Steinberg_(journalist_and_photographer)#Notable_and_Primary_Sources_are_not_a_problem_here_from_the_Article's_drafter Please consider removing both tags. I understand that these things can be complicated, but I have been editing (and sometimes drafting) articles about authors both living and dead. I feel I addressed the issues you raised. Thanks. Sourcing Context for Zahedi Ahmadzai Draft

[edit]

Thank you for reviewing my draft on Zahedi Ahmadzai. I’ve added citations to support each statement of fact as much as possible. However, I wanted to provide some context regarding the sourcing challenges.

Zahedi Ahmadzai, has made significant contributions to Pashto literature and Islamic scholarship, particularly in Afghanistan. Due to limited internet access and infrastructure in Afghanistan, much of his work and other academic resources in the region have not been digitized or made available online. Therefore, many of his publications and contributions are accessible only in physical form within Afghan institutions and are not easily available through typical internet sources.

I have cited offline sources where possible and included references to his known works and recognized institutions, such as the Afghanistan Centre at Kabul University, where some of his publications are archived. I hope this explanation clarifies the sourcing limitations and provides insight into the context of Afghan academics.

Thank you for your understanding, and I’m happy to make further adjustments if needed. Abdulmusawir88 (talk) 10:35, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If Draft:Zahedi Ahmadzai has made "significant contributions to Pashto literature" there will be reliable sources reporting this, they do not have to be online, but they do need to be independent of him. Theroadislong (talk) 14:14, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Radhika Gupta Page

[edit]

Could you please let me know the reason for declining the submission for Radhika Gupta's page? If possible, could you point out the specific areas where you found issues? We will work on correcting them as soon as possible. Mackmahak (talk) 10:26, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

GlobalPlatform

[edit]

Hi, you rejected my draft. Can you point out which of the issues is the reason you've rejected it? In my view it does meet the WP:GNG. PhotographyEdits (talk) 17:58, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I declined your draft Draft:GlobalPlatform I didn't reject it. I may have been unduly influenced by the previous 6 deletions, but felt that the coverage wasn't enough to pass WP:NORG, I may be wrong, feel free to re-submit I will not review again. Theroadislong (talk) 18:13, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, sorry for using the wrong term. Thanks for your answer, I will submit it again. PhotographyEdits (talk) 19:23, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Register.BG Page

[edit]

Hi Theroadislong,

Do you think the newly added references in the Draft:Register.BG (positions: 1 and 10)
"Register.BG - Registration and use of domain names at ccTLD registry"
and
"Bulgaria Internet Company Launches Domain Names in Cyrillic - Novinite.com - Sofia News Agency".
together with the reference at position 3:
"Domain Registration and Transfer - SuperHosting"
will make the draft eligible for publication as article?

My userpage

[edit]

Hi, I'm a bit puzzled as to how and what information should I provide in my userpage. This time when I created userpage, the edit summary was filled with userbox information. So this time I requested CSD. CometVolcano (talk) 15:19, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

OC and NGC 2736 were my previous usernames. But I closed those accounts and did not give email ID and forgot passwords. If you go through my edit history, you will see I am definitely not new user. --CometVolcano (talk) 15:22, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So you need to disclose this on your user page, you have now requested deletion 11 times. Theroadislong (talk) 15:24, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
