Taxobox
I saw you left me a message about a taxobox... what is that? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cerambycidfreak (talk • contribs) 15:14, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
Is a taxobox the Overview section? If so, how do you fix it? I accidentally messed it up... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cerambycidfreak (talk • contribs) 15:15, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- I've fixed the taxobox for you, it was missing the closing brackets, it would help if the references were placed directly after the content they support rather than in a list at the end. Theroadislong (talk) 15:18, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
Sources
I have 5 sources on my Wikipedia article, but I'm having trouble making it so that clicking the superscript number next to the word will take me to the citation Would you please help me? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cerambycidfreak (talk • contribs) 15:26, 11 October 2021 (UTC)

Got the Sources for ya, they're correctly formatted and ready to go. Would you mind "accepting" the article or looking it over for more issues? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cerambycidfreak (talk • contribs) 15:48, 11 October 2021 (UTC)

Photos
I'm not trying to upload them as my own work. I've got permission from the BugGuide contributors whose photos they are, but don't know how to say that when I upload the files for use. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cerambycidfreak (talk • contribs) 17:35, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- You do not have permission, the bugguide website says they are copyright, they would need to be released with a correct commons license first. Theroadislong (talk) 17:39, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
Image
Ok, Mr. TheRoadIsLong. I now have 2 images of Ceropales bipunctata (from BugGuide), and this time the posters gave me their explicit permission. I will upload them, and since I have given you this message, I hope you won't delete them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cerambycidfreak (talk • contribs) 18:45, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- The uploader cannot give permission for use on Wikipedia only, the image would have to be free to use anywhere even for commercial use, and there is zero evidence that the copyright holder has agreed to that. Another user has already tagged the image for speedy deletion. Theroadislong (talk) 18:57, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
Mr., I have permission to use these images. What copyright would I put them under for them to be certifiable for use in my article? What, of those six options of copyright, is appropriate for an image to which I've been given the rights? I have the rights to the images, and really want to use them — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cerambycidfreak (talk • contribs) 19:22, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- The copyright holder would need to release the photographs with a Creative Commons license it is NOT sufficient for him to just allow you to use them. You clearly do NOT I have the rights to the images, sorry. Theroadislong (talk) 19:27, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
back to draft
Why was this page moved back to draft?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Desi-Rae_Young — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.229.39.92 (talk) 23:51, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- Because as it comments at the top ... it was moved from draft by a paid editor User:Wiki Page Polisher bypassing the AFC process. I needs to be submitted and approved by an afc reviewer first. Theroadislong (talk) 07:11, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
Regarding FAME Publish magazine
Hi it has been four months since FAME Publish was rejected by you. I have added more citations. I have no experience of creating Wikipedia. Our competitor Indian Talent Magazine has wikipedia page without any independent source, only cited facebook links and their clients blog link, and most of the links are not active yet, they dont even have ISNI number. But we have ISNI number, and we have more independent sources, that is the reason I also submitted my magazine. Other contributors saying we are using paid articles, but they are not paid, all are organic one and based on interview with our editor. Kindly look into matter and solve the issue. I respect your decision what you will do. Thank you very much. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2409:4053:2C81:3D96:48C4:1030:F083:2216 (talk) 15:40, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- See other poor quality articles exist I have removed the content sourced to blog and Facebook and tagged for notabilty. Thanks for the heads up. Theroadislong (talk) 16:01, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
I'm stunned by this faulty article. It is filled with dead links. Most of its claims, including awards, are substantiated by dead links. How is this allowed to exist?--176.229.152.167 (talk) 20:11, 12 October 2021 (UTC)

Mayya Poprotskaya
To be honest, this person is of newsworthy, but I can see that because of the subject matter, newsworthiness does not apply here. You will find every reason to delete the page simply because of subject matter...CeallaighM (talk) 21:25, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
As she is the first person (possibly in the world) but definitely for the country of New Zealand, to have her images specifically labeled as Child Pornography and BANNED via isp hash technology, she meets the definition and criteria for "Subject-specific notability guidelines".
This is the first person I have been able to find, where an ISP of a country takes hash encoding via https://archive.org/details/office-of-film-and-literature-classification_800392/page/n1/mode/2up
Facial, video, voice recognition and BAN anyone from the country of New Zealand from seeing these images.
It may not be the best subject in the world, it may involve things that make your skin crawl, but it is certainly news worthy and notable and that's what Wikipedia is. Wikipedia is not about feelings, it is about the world.CeallaighM (talk) 21:35, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- It has nothing to do with how "newsworthy" (see WP:NOTNEWS) the topic is or the subject matter, articles are created about people who pass the criteria at WP:GNG, the subject needs to have been covered in-depth with significant coverage. The sources in your draft come no where near being enough, being mere passing mentions, sorry. Theroadislong (talk) 21:39, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
(Redacted) — Preceding unsigned comment added by CeallaighM (talk • contribs) 22:04, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- Mayya Poprotskaya may well be notable enough for an article, but the draft was declined because the sources do not evidence this yet, you are free to find more and better sources and re-submit, but attacking volunteer editors will not help in anyway. User Page for Andrewincowtown
As per your notice, I have edited my User page.
By way of explanation, I can only offer that when I set up the page years ago, I thought of it as a traditional "Bio" page, and have not thought about it much since.
However, I completely agree that it was not in-line with Wikipedia guidelines. I hope it is now.
Best wishes, Andrewincowtown (talk) 17:37, 13 October 2021 (UTC)
Hello, Theroadislong,
Just a reminder, it really helps after you move a page from main space to Draft space to tag the original page for speedy deletion, CSD R2. If you could do this in the future, it would be appreciated. Thanks. Liz Read! Talk! 01:59, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
StoneShot company page
Hi Theroadislong. Thanks for reviewing the page I created. I rewrote the page after your first rejection and added references. There's not much else in the public domain about StoneShot - one of the reasons I'm creating a Wikipedia page. Could you help? Thanks, Gavin — Preceding unsigned comment added by GavinJohn67 (talk • contribs) 11:13, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
- Wikipedia only publishes articles for topics that have received significant coverage in reliable sources. Your draft does not show that, press releases are not reliable sources. Your company would need to pass the criteria at WP:NCORP, please also address the problem of undisclosed paid editing. Theroadislong (talk) 11:31, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

Dr. Richmond Kelly draft page
Dear Theroadislong,
I do know the page is lacking in sources, I'm trying my best to find more but can't find many so far.
As for what makes it notable, I'd say what may make the source notable is that it's from an actually book, though I can only find the usgwarchives page for Richmond's specific section as well as a PDF of the Volume 2 book of which Richmond's part appears in. I'd somehow link the PDF if I knew how to as it'd likely actually show the section from which I'm getting a mjority of my information from.
Though as I'll probably not be able to find other sources anytime soon, delete the page if you are able and really need to.
Sincerely,
KlenaLover2030 (talk) 09:34, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
- No need for deletion, maybe some more sources will arise. Theroadislong (talk) 10:51, 16 October 2021 (UTC)

- Your draft Draft:Cloudwood Entertainment was rejected because it was blatant advertising. Wikipedia doesn’t host company pages, not a single one, we have articles about notable topics. - What IS against the wiki guidelines is the fact that you are connected to the subject/topic you are writing about. You can't write about something you are connected to because then the info may not be neutral, it'll (likely) be bias. On Wikipedia, all info must be neutral = no opinions. You may not think you'll be bias to your own company, but who knows? We want to avoid that at all costs. Cerambycidfreak (talk) 22:07, 17 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Anishkatyal05: adding to that, please read the notice Theroadislong left you and follow the blue links. "Paid" does not mean cash. Since you are the owner, you do have a financial interest, thus you do need to disclose (read all the instructions). Hi Theroadislong,
I was wondering what you mean by independent sources? I would think that the article that was released by their label would be considered independent? The first source that I used was from naver which was declined because apparently that was not reliable. Should I include the link from their official twitter account to make sure that this article gets approved? I mean I looked up their previous articles from their past albums and the naver source was approved there... Let me know thank you!

Draft: Naosaku Takahashi
Hi again Theroadislong,
I deleted the first one fron Japanese Wikipedia. Thanks. The other two are from the home pages of still existing institutes for the needy, which were established by Naosaku Takahashi. By the way, as Naosaku Takahashi is a historikal figure (1886-1976), his Website informaton is limited. However, Naosaku Takahashi was an important figure of social work in Japan, during and after the war, WWII. Unfortunately, his writings, including his autobiography, and critical evaluations were published in Japanese only. But I, IyataYada, tried to cite the limited literature which is housed in National Diet Library of Japan; and CiNii of National Institute of Informatics, Japan, for everyone's reference to reach out the original sources. Although he is not a famous in the U.S.A. and other foreign countries, I belive that this English version will help the English speaking people in the Wikipedia community.
Best regards, IyataYada
Thanks!

Hello. We submitted an entry for the National Environmental Education Foundation. John Grandits article draft
Hi Friend, I'm trying to get some feedback on why our Wikipedia draft for children's poet John Grandits was rejected. My daughter and I put it together after she was assigned a research project in school to find biographical details on him. Since he had no Wikipedia page, we created one together (paying pretty careful attention to formatting and criteria). I've looked a bit at the notability guidelines and do think he has enough creative work to be notable. Any more feedback that could help us prove notability-- other than the awards, lists of article and publications? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:John_Grandits
Thank you for providing feedback on Draft:Boris_Maciejovsky
I appreciate the time you took to go over my submitted draft.
In response to your comment, I made some edits to include sources for the biography section.
In footnote 9, I included a link to the library at the University Wien. In footnote 10, I included a link to the PhD thesis at MIT Libraries. In footnote 11, I included a link to the author's CV that lists all previous academic appointments..
Again, many thanks for taking the time to improve the submission!
Draft:Thoughts of the Day
I have read WP:NOTBOOK and found the following criteria: The book has been the subject of two or more non-trivial published works appearing in sources that are independent of the book itself. This can include published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles , other books, television documentaries, bestseller lists, and reviews. This excludes media re-prints of press releases, flap copy, or other publications where the author, its publisher, agent, or other self-interested parties advertise or speak about the book.
Then why asking specifically for book reviews? I am not geeting

page of Pradyumna Kishore Bal
Hello there:
We wish to create a page on Mr Pradyumna Kishore Bal who was a very notable personality from Odisha, India. He was an elected Member of Parliament of the Indian general election in 1977. Committed to social causes, Mr Bal founded the newspaper Pragativadi which is still in operation and is considered to be one of the leading dailies in Odisha. The page is intended to carry verifiable facts about Mr Bal. We would love to have it on Wikipedia.
Thank you.

I've made changes to reflect your comments on my COIN-related page
Hi Theroadislong,
Thanks for letting me know that my article submission was too 'advertisy'. I created COIN as an open-source, non-commercial framework, but I guess my enthusiasm got the better of the article. I have rewritten it, and taken out any reference to anything that may sound commercial or advertorial. Just to clear any misconceptions, I have removed the references to my book on the subject.... I'm not doing this to sell books, but because I want people to use and enjoy the open-source framework.
Can you let me know if this is the better style, and publish if so? If not, can you let me know which part specifically is not good enough?
Coverage of the framework is fairly widespread, but within the context of the innovation-management industry.... I guess you need to take into account that this is a fairly small group. The magazines, blogs and conferences that published about COIN are in fact global, leading events. Bear in mind that I have not paid anything to anyone to provide this coverage!
Thank you very much!

Dear Theroadislong,
Thank you for your comment. I have canceled all the ® in the text and inserted some more professional information but can I leave the ® in the title?
I have read a lot about this brand and I have always found it next to the name. For example on this article from the Red Bull Racing Blog https://www.redbull.com/int-en/redbullracing/in-the-driving-seat-with-playseat
Also, do you have other advises to make it better from a professional point of view?

Dear Theroadislong,
Thank you for your review to my draft. I removed the IMDb reference and only left the references to wellknown newspapers such us The New York Times or spanish newspaper El Mundo. Regarding not qualifying this article as a Wikipedia article, must be a missunderstanding.

Hi Theroadislong - thank you for reviewing and providing feedback.
I'm happy to make any changes but just want to make sure I edit the right things out.
We have modelled the submission on this agency based on other similar agencies, for example the listing for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huge_(digital_agency)

Article still not published
Dear Theroadislong, My article was still not approved as you have mentioned that it's not worthy for wikipedia and it doesn't have significant coverage. Sidarth sathoo has been covered by Amar Ujala which was started in the year 1999. The athlete itself has created history by becoming the first kashmiri pandit boy to achieve the title of Mr North and Mr Jammu. He also has been covered by 'Rising Kashmir' which is a 13 year old publication which is widely read in Kashmir and North India. Please let me know how these decade old publications are not significant?

Hi
Thanks for your feedback. I added two more sources to the article. But I just want to say that I’m not creating this article by itself and leaving it. As you may know it’s very rare that we actually get the names of individual architects who created the monuments of the ancient world. In this case we have two or three names from Hegra and Petra (both are world heritage sites, and one of them was voted to be one of the modern wonders of the world). For some reason there are no English sources or articles about these names but if this is accepted I can then link this article with others and with the other existing articles on the subject.

Draft: Margaret Klein Salamon
Hello!
You recently reviewed my submission for the wikipedia entry for Margaret Klein Salamon. I've included the notes below. If I take away the external links from the body of the article, will I be able to have the article published?
My notifications:
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Theroadislong was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
we don't use external links in the body of an article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 8AYCiayni (talk • contribs) 17:24, 22 October 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry no, the external links being removed won't make the topic notable, the references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Mike Hall (musician) draft question
Hey there @Theroadislong:, thanks for leaving your question on the draft! That being said, "performed alongside" means that the subject played at the same performance with the associated acts stated in the draft while being a participant in his co-founded band, which is what I personally believe is being conveyed through the provided sources. Hopefully that clears up any ambiguity to the wording of that information.
However, if there is a better way to phrase that information, then I'm more than willing to change it accordingly. Thank you for your time! Thefarcry (talk) 13:26, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- Playing at the same performance as other artists confers zero notability and is irrelevant. Theroadislong (talk) 13:28, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
@Theroadislong: Okay, I'll immediately remove the information regarding the associated acts the subject performed with as a band member. That being said, what's left should strictly be information regarding the subject's bass playing style, which I believe still falls under https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(music) criteria 1 & 7. Thefarcry (talk) 13:40, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

- @Theroadislong: hello old friend, long time no talk! That user had a 72 hour block applied October 16. I highly reccomend the gadget found under Preferences>gadgets>"Strike out usernames that have been blocked", as it shows in a glance who is blocked. That said, it comes with surprises when you see long-time users with a line through their names, as in "I can't believe they got blocked!" --- Possibly ☎ 18:29, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- In the same spot, under gadgets, there is an option called "MoreMenu: add Page and User dropdown menus to the toolbar with links to common tasks, analytic tools and logs". It is highly useful, as it adds a user analysis menu, including Xtools, contribs, blocks and so on. It appears when you are on any user's page. --- Possibly ☎ 18:32, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

Bali Balm Edited Source
Hello Theroadislong,
You reviewed and commented on the article I created Bali Balm Draft. I can understand and completely appreciate the comments that you made. Since then I have made changes to the article and wondered whether you would be able to review the page again please. I am also wondering whether you offer some sort of consulting service?? in which you could help and advise me on how to improve my article so that It can be successfully published onto Wikipedia.
I am fairly new to Wikipedia and It would be a great sense of achievement if I could get my first page published and then continue to contribute to the Wikipedia platform.
Would greatly appreciate your help/tips and it would be great to learn from you, I look forward to hearing back from you.
Thank you. --The-info-guide (talk) 15:43, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

Hello Theroadislong & S0091, I have just read the above comments and I would like to sincerely apologise for any offence that may have been caused from my message. I think I may have misunderstood the workings of Wikipedia. I understand it is a complex process and just wanted to seek some help as I was previously offered help but in return for payment which I believe goes against Wikipedia guidelines.
Sorry once again for any offence caused, this was not my intention. I appreciate that this is not an easy job and I will take your previous advice on board to improve the article. Thank you.The-info-guide (talk) 12:32, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
Re: List of Cargojet Destinations
Hi Theroadislong,
You wrote, "we can visit their own website for this information, it doesn't require an article?". However, if you look at almost any airline article, under the Destinations subheading, you will find a link to a separate article that lists that airline's destinations. My guess is that it is done this way because the list of destinations can be so long that it would cause unnecessary clutter on the main article. By your logic, we don't need to have any articles such as "List of United Airlines destinations", or "List of Air Canada destinations", as we could just visit their websites if we wanted to see their destinations, no? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.177.240.207 (talk) 17:47, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

Dear Theroadislong,
I have further revised the Climate-ADAPT page, adding more reliable sources (EU laws, regulations, Communications of the European Parliaments, peer-reviewed publications, books and portals). Furthermore, I have renamed the page, in line with the official name of the platform, as mentioned in the EU Regulation documents. Here is the new link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:European_Climate_Adaptation_Platform_Climate-ADAPT Please note that the CLIMATE-ADAPT platform is also mentioned in the European Environment Agency (EEA) Wikipedia page, as the platform is part of the EEA website. Disclosure about paid contribution is also mentioned, as previously discussed. Would you please be so kind to let me know if this version is suitable for review, and if not, what change you would suggest? Thank you and best regards, Chiaramzztt (talk) 09:18, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

Page Review
Dear Theroadislong
I received your evaluation about my draft article I am trying to publish about the company GitScrum. Could you please help me answering the following questions so I can try to edit it and adapt it?
1) I read the competitors (Trello, Asana, Bootcamp) page and they pretty much follow the same standards, we used them as example of language, so we are finding difficult to understand: why ours can we not publish ours?
2) We have included references / sources to prove our tool and our users exist and are numerous; and have removed all adjectives that could be considered as personal evaluation of the product, leaving the text only informative. Even so, it returns as advertising. What else can we change?
We want to adapt to the rules, just would like to understand them specifically.
Huge thanks, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Denisemacielbr (talk • contribs) 18:18, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

Fashion Net article does not contain paid contributions
Hello Theroadislong. Thanks for your help. The Fashion Net article does not contain paid contributions and I'd appreciate if you could remove the tag. Before creating the draft, I did, however, comply with your requirements and declared a conflict of interest at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Fnoll While I'm doing my best to be neutral, I understand the article may need to be edited by others. Scans of the print articles from the 1990s and early 2000s as well as the video have indeed been linked from the stigharder.com website. If possible, the scans could perhaps be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons and linked from there.
