This is not Fair and Humanism in the 21st Century--

perez vs. sharp

Hi Th.!

I'm writing re Perez vs. Sharp a WIKI article in which I tried to insert the name of the plaintiff's, Angela Perez, attorney. Her attorney, c. 1948 was my dad, Daniel G. Marshall of Los Angeles, California. Hey, just registering on WIKI and navigating the insertion was a big deal for me as I'm a non techie 73 year old. How can I verify, in the SIMPLEST terms, that dad was her attorney. The WIKI suggestions are overwhelming to me. I noted that Dara Orenstein, who contacted me when she was doing her dissertation on the politics of misegenation a few years back, is one of the sources for the WIKI article. I could really use some direction as it is important to me that my Dad, long since deceased, would finally get the recognition he deserved for this case. This case was most recently referenced re allowing gay marriage.Ronnie ann (talk) 20:23, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

Was the information published somewhere, a newspaper, a magazine? All content MUST be reliably sourced. I'll have a search online myself. Theroadislong (talk) 20:39, 27 June 2015 (UTC)
OK I found a reference and added back the content for you, all good wishes. Theroadislong (talk) 20:44, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

Facebook

If you want to take up this gripe, Facebook, do it with the creator of Omen (Antestor album), have a nice day. If an album has reviews by Cross Rhythms, New Release Today, Indie Vision Music, Jesus Freak Hideout, and others on CCM Sources, then I'd say notable and not eligible for your tagging, nor to be prodded. The Cross Bearer (talk) 07:52, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

I am well aware of that, however if you can find better sources it can only improve the article, I don't imagine it would survive an AFD at the moment with such poor referencing. Theroadislong (talk) 09:11, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
I understand your reasoning, yet the band got one review for their first album and three for the other from RS in the CCM market. It most certainly would survive in an AfD.The Cross Bearer (talk) 06:07, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

Ceramic Art article

Hello, I noticed the article Ceramic art has been moved to History of ceramic art and the redirect now goes to Pottery. The redirect for Ceramics is now redirected to Pottery rather than to Ceramic art. As you have been a contributor to the Ceramic art article, I am curious as to your opinion. There will a lot of clean-up as many articles link to Pottery and to Ceramics - many times within the same article. I am not so sure I am in agreement with this move - and maybe the move should be undone? Thank you for your time, Cheers Gmcbjames (talk) 01:24, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

I have moved it back, perhaps the editor will start a discussion on the talk page. Theroadislong (talk) 08:22, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

I have spent the day drafting another page using the same links George Terry used as we performed on the same work. You kept his so why would I be deleted. I updated all links copied in case you delete. A lot of hard work. I feel this is factual using Billboard Magazine direct links to artists and whatever. I am tired I hope this one finds some liking Please give me a chance before you delete it It took me forever on the internet I would pay someone to help me I have bolts and screws in my neck I hurt. Can you help me? You seem to know what the plan is and I want to make it happen. I did mention the movies I worked on the music and albums. I hope it is somewhat OK> Kitty Just a draftKitty Terry aka Kitty Woodson Terry (talk) 20:39, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

You don't say where the draft is? Offering to pay someone to write an article is a VERY bad idea. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). Skyhorse Publishing

Theroadislong, thank you for your help. I am new to using and understanding Wikipedia update policies, your comments have been very helpful. I do feel that the last paragraph of the Skyhorse Publishing page still should be removed. The reasoning being twofold:

1. Book publishers, in general, do not have any control over who sells their books. Skyhorse Publishing, a book publisher, cannot control where Skyhorse books are sold, just as a cable channel cannot control who pays for the tier that includes their channel, etc. 2. I encourage you to review other book publishers pages such as Random House and Simon & Schuster. No other book publisher page includes commentary about who sells their books, which is not something a book publisher can control and therefore this could be a valid reason for removing the last paragraph.

Please let me know if you still have any questions or concerns about why the paragraph should be removed from the Skyhorse page. I'm happy to continue the discussion further. Thanks, — Preceding unsigned comment added by SkyhorseSales1 (talkcontribs) 18:44, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

You need to discuss this on the article talk page not here. Wikipedia only reports on what the reliable sources say about the subject. It maybe that the content is undue weight I don't know. Theroadislong (talk) 18:47, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for your explanation

Hello, Thanks for your explanation on why Excitability was flagged for deletion. I still believe that it should have a link to the article on "overexcitability," since Dabrowski used the term excitability in many different ways. I did share that info on the overexcitability page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Auroraremember (talkcontribs) 21:15, 10 July 2015 (UTC)

Sourcing

Hi TheRoadIsLong, of course I know that I haveto reference claims and I'm slowly working through that. Can I ask that rather than remove things that you just ask me if there's a source for them. As it happens, there is a source for the bit you removed. AS_Sydney (talk) 17:06, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

If you have a source then you can add back the content, no worries? Theroadislong (talk) 19:25, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

Hello, I had a question about the overexcitability page. It said it did not have resources cited, so I added information, mostly from Dabrowski's book, along with some resources on the topic. I included books that I know cover the topic and three links from websites that I found most useful when I first researched the topic. Is there a way to change the flag on the top that says it doesn't have resources cited? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Auroraremember (talkcontribs) 18:07, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

IMDb As A Source

Hi theroadislong, while I generally accept that IMDb is not the pinnacle of sourcing, I do feel that a database dedicated to film would tend to get things right on film.Especially when what we're talking about is film Awards and I actually know this actor, who is a famous in Australia and also know he was the recipient of four awards and nominee for two.. please use some common sense... AS_Sydney (talk) 09:09, 12 July 2015 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not concerned with what you know or what edits you make on IMDb Wikipedia requires, reliable secondary sources and if your subjects are notable there should be no problem in finding them. Theroadislong (talk) 09:11, 12 July 2015 (UTC) Hopw absolutelyt ridiculous - I do NOT know the actor personally, I know the actor because they are famous and I am aware pof things in certain topic areas.. that's what I meant. For that reason, I was also satisfied as to the appropriateness of the sourcing. To draw a conclusion from what I've said that I have in some way got a personal connection is ridiculous! AS_Sydney (talk) 09:25, 12 July 2015 (UTC)

Did you get out of the wrong side of the bed or do you not understand the concept of an actor being well-known and that it doesn't necessitate a personal connection?

AS_Sydney (talk) 09:40, 12 July 2015 (UTC) My apologies for misunderstanding your meaning but the words "I actually know this actor" seemed to indicate that you knew him? Theroadislong (talk) 09:44, 12 July 2015 (UTC)No - I don't personally kinow him, have never met him, never spoken to him - "know" in this case meant I had an awareness of who he was as someone of note in Australia. Apology accepted. Haqve added a link to the actor's Wikipage where there is separate mention of the Awards. AS_Sydney (talk) 09:47, 12 July 2015 (UTC)

In regards to the Northern Guilford High School aerial video, I feel that it is relevant in light of the fact that by definition, an encyclopedic view encompasses all details of a given subject. This, I feel, validates my submission as it is informational and informative. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Quad Photographer (talkcontribs) 15:50, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi

Hi Theroadislong.

I didn't intend the edit to be promotional but helpful - we are having lots of problems at the moment with visitors arriving on a Sunday thinking the museum is open and then getting upset/angry with staff when it is not. This seems to trace to an incorrect Google search result which I am also trying to change - once that is correct I had intended to remove the Wikipedia edit. As the library and museum are completely separate (we share the building but are run by separate organisations) solving issues like this confusion over opening hours on line can be tricky. I have also added the library website address to the bottom of the page to help people understand the difference between us.

I am new to editing Wikipedia so please be gentle with me!

Can you suggest a better way for me to solve the problem of our incorrect opening hours appearing? Would it be helpful to have opening hours for both the library and the museum somewhere on the Wikipedia page or would this be thought of as 'promotion'?

Thanks for your help. HarrisMuseum (talk) 08:40, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

The road is long

Gizem Senel is a not notable person who has written her own article. You have asked speedy deletion years ago, and the autobiography of a young woman who made a 4 minute something and calls it a film, and has played the "lead role" and therefore presents herself as a director and actress (and singer-songwriter!) and still mocks Wikipedia after so many years. I doubt anybody knows her out of Wikipedia. Even her name is manipulated, to fit internet better. Thanks for the speedy effort. Genevieve Lyons Read More

I'm new to Wikipedia and learning constantly, thank you for your guidance. I appreciate the value of verification. I note the Read More at the bottom of Genevieve Lyons page is incorrect since John Murray Anderson was married to Genevieve Lyon who died in 1916, and Genevieve Lyons born in 1930. Not sure who can amend this error. Additionally I have newspaper cuttings from some of the plays reviews. If I locate a domain to store them in are these suitable for some of th Ella's appear mace verification. Many thanks Sam — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samanthajanerichardson (talkcontribs) 13:50, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

I can't locate any "read more" section? Better to detail the name of the newspaper and date rather than upload images. Theroadislong (talk) 15:42, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

All I did was to correct the spelling of the company name to "all lowercase", but bots and admins turned the page into a total mess. How can we possibly get this article fixed if we're not allowed to edit anything, not even fix the name? We're not Apple or Google, and we can't enlist an army of "neutral" contributors that are allowed to take on the task. So thanks for pillorizing our company, and have a good day. Really thank you! It was my first post and I was unsure how to do it. I will be sure to get the proper sources for my edit and re-save it!

Hi Theroadislong .. Thanks for replying. Well, I, Sonam R Thakur, a Crew Member of DS Creations Entertainment Private Limited, had created an article on July 9th, 2015. I am really finding it difficult because creating an article on Wikipedia needs a proper detailed study. Our field is totally different and its our first effort. I keep on asking my fellow members for the help keeping in mind that there must understand some points which I may not be doing. Interestingly, even they find it difficult but still help me. So, I am an individual only who is writing the article but we all aren't getting the proper process to get an article published. Still enjoying the process. So, Theroadislong, please help me by having a look and tell me where I am lacking. Thanks ... Sonam R Thakur (talk) 19:54, 24 July 2015 (UTC)

questions about edits

Dear Sir, I did not agree with several edits you made to my edits. For one, I minorly edited a sentence about mold artists in Environmental Art that gave the full name of the person whose art is depicted in the photo, therefore I think it was a good edit and would like to recall it. Secondly, I added a second reference to the sentence about mold art in the article that was just a web address because I wasn't referencing any page on the website but rather the whole website as an illustration of mold art. Thirdly I created a page about artist Heather Barnett that you proposed for speedy deletion but she is certainly sufficiently significant, for one thing has given a TED talk plus created a collective regarding her interest (http://slimoco.ning.com/). Perhaps you would retract the request for speedy deletion? Greg Dahlen (talk) 12:47, 25 July 2015 (UTC)

I have removed the speedy at Heather Barnett (artist). Notability however has NOT been established and as it stands it would almost certainly fail an AFD, you need to find reliable third party sources that discuss her. Theroadislong (talk) 14:20, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
thanks for removing speedy, Theroadislong. But I don't understand, why is her not having given a TED talk plus establishing an association that brings together experts in her field, sufficient for notability? I appreciate your adding a sentence about where she is employed, but why do you think that that makes more of a case for her notability than the two facts I just named? Greg Dahlen (talk) 14:44, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
I would like to restore one minor edit on the Environmental Art article, I believe the slight re-wording of the sentence about mold art in the article is better. I would also like to re-add the reference to the slime mold collective website, I can add a "retrieved on July 25th 2015" note to it. Greg Dahlen (talk) 14:44, 25 July 2015 (UTC)

Kitces page

Saw your notability tag and reference checks on Michael Kitces page. I can update this stuff, just hadn't bothered in a long time. Give me a few days? There are lots of new references since I wrote the page years ago. Just haven't been motivated to work on it in a while, after griefing I got from other Wiki editors after I first wrote. Kinda killed my interest in Wiki stuff for a while. Also, check out the notes from back then, notability had already been challenged and affirmed. Finplanwiki (talk) 19:47, 26 July 2015 (UTC)

Also, Financial Planning magazine is a "notable" magazine in our industry. One of the leading three with top circulation, along with Investment News and Financial Advisor. Finplanwiki (talk) 19:49, 26 July 2015 (UTC)

Birthdate of Heather Barnett

Saw you removed edit on Heather Barnett birthdate. But if I can't find the info elsewhere, isn't the private email better than nothing? I would imagine that on most Wikipedia biographical articles, the editor has not seen the birth certificate of the person bio'ed, in fact most bio articles don't even give a source for the birth date, do they? Would it work if I simply stated she was born in England in 1970 and didn't give a source? Greg Dahlen (talk) 12:49, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

Absolutely not ALL content on biographies needs to be reliably sourced. Wikipedia only includes content that has been reported on by reliable sources. Nothing else. Theroadislong (talk) 12:52, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
And if you have a personal connection to the artist you need to declare this on your user page and the article page too...see WP:COI Theroadislong (talk) 13:02, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, Theroadislong. I had seen biographical articles with a photo of the subject to the right and the birth date beneath and it looked to me like the birth date wasn't sourced. But now I see the birth date is sourced within the article text. I have no personal connection to her, I had simply emailed her when I couldn't find a birth date and place on the web. Greg Dahlen (talk) 15:02, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

By the way, I still wish to make a couple of minor edits on the environmental art article which I had asked you about two posts up but you did not answer. I believe I will go ahead and make them, if you don't like them then ideally I wish you would contact me first and discuss, or simply edit them to make them acceptable, it is a bit abrupt when you just undo. Greg Dahlen (talk) 15:13, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

might not be best way

Dear Theroadislong, I have appreciated your help on a couple of articles. It seems to me that instead of undoing my (and I would think others') edits, you ought to communicate with the editor who you disagree with and work together to improve them, or improve the edit yourself. You may not mean it this way, but simply undoing them comes ve ry harsh. Greg Dahlen (talk) 17:30, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

I'm sorry but when copyright issues are involved deletion is absolutely necesaary. Theroadislong (talk) 17:58, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

Sorry. I suppose I'm confused then how to change things on Wikipedia. I could see where the list of degrees may be deemed too much. But even then, those are facts. The changes I have made are factual in nature (number of degree programs, number of students, addresses, building names); I even removed the ShopColumbia info, which was not my doing, that originally was flagged for being advertising. Requesting an edit leaves it open to all sorts of biases from the editor. Just look at the Talk page and some of the comments there, not to mention past examples (by way of USA goalkeeper Tim Howard being the Secretary of Defense in summer 2014 or anything requested by Daniel Tosh).

I didn't think these changes/additions would be deemed "disruptive." I'm more than willing and able to comply, but it's confusing if I can't update facts, regardless of source. By the way, I also added the requested COI disclosure on the Talk page. Thanks in advance for any guidance. OnlineCommsUpdate (talk) 17:34, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

There is now less material in the wikipedia entry than there was several months ago. Sandford St Martin Trust (talk) 13:10, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

I deleted it because it was copyrighted text which had all been copied and pasted into the article. All content in Wikipedia needs to be written in your own words. using reliable third party sources. You need to discuss this on the article talk page, the critical content appears to be VERY well sourced unlike the rest of the article. Theroadislong (talk) 14:20, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

Nomination for deletion

I would like to ask you why you consider my article a vanity piece? Everything I have written is factual and has sources to refer to. Lori St John has made a difference here in the United States as well as other countries. I would like to improve the page anyway necessary. I appreciate you input. Thank you. Galaxygirl0505 (talk) 17:30, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

The article has very few secondary sources, most of the references are primary ie. connected to the articles subject. You need to make clear why she is WP:NOTABLE. Theroadislong (talk) 17:41, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

Your removed what you call a "personal essay" or whatever, but it was an update to the page relating the current state of photographic film, and was a re-write of a paragraph that dated and expressed that film was obsolete and superseded by digital photography. My re-write corrects this misconception and gives the current state of film and film photography as of 2015. Your reason for removing it is not acceptable. I will look into what recourse is open to me. If the paragraph should not have been at the header, then why didn't you move it down in the page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xo-whiplock (talkcontribs) 19:59, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

You are welcome to integrate some of the material into the article BUT the lede section summarises the articles content and your edit removed all of that. Theroadislong (talk) 20:02, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

Poorly sourced vanity piece - Lori St John

For your reference and ease in review I have compiled a list of just some of the secondary sources you will find Ms. Urs, now Lori St John. Mention of Lori Urs (now St John) in Secondary Sources

New England School of Law http://www.loristjohn.com/RDT-1.6.html?scp=1&sq=Joseph+O'Dell&st=nyt

http://www.loristjohn.com/RDT-1.3.html?scp=1&sq=Joseph+O'Dell&st=nyt, Urs referenced and acknowledged throughout the article as the reason one of 3, 000 death row cases became an international cause. See columns, 1, 3, and 4, noting: column 1: Days after the Supreme Court stayed O’Dell’s execution on Dec. 17, the New York Times reported “there can’t be many people left in Italy who never heard of O’Dell. The “nagging question” the story asked was “how this case was singled out for Italy’s’ national embrace. They need have looked no further than Urs, a driven woman who has dedicated her life to saving O’Dell’s. Column 2, O’Dell’s case was already known in Italy via the Internal... but but so too were the cases of more than 3,000 other Americans on death row across the country, and no one was demonstrating about any of them until Urs reached Farkas.” Column 3: After the story ran (front page story of the most widely circulated newspaper in Italy), Neri, a locally elected official representing the region of Umbria , called Farkas looking for Urs, and things took a political turn. Column 5- “ In January, Urs toured Italy to thank O’Dell supporter and drummed up more attention. Ferrarotti, the sociologist, appeared on a television show with Urs during the visit. He said Urs “captured the imagination of the Italian public at large. I was quite amazed myself. He said she was “very forceful, very attractive, obviously very dedicated and you know all of this put together somehow made an impact.” Leoluca Orlando, major of Palermo, made O’dell an honorary citizen.

Urs was invited by the Italian Parliament, who sponsored her trip, to tour the country of Italy. She began her tour in the President’s office, meeting with his aid, and then met with the President of the Senate, President of Constitutional Affairs and numerous high dignitaries throughout Italy, including doing a TV show with then Foreign Affairs Prime Minister Dini.

She was also invited twice to the Vatican, met the Secretary of State, who gave her a rosary from the Pope and was invited back to meet privately with Pope John Paul II, at the Vatican. She also received a phone call from Mother Teresa, in acknowledgement of her work, and invited her to stay with her in Calcutta. William Lane Craig and Talk:William Lane Craig

The Talk page was used prior to the most recent editing. A recent editing summary referred to points which had been made on the Talk:William Lane Craig page. Finally, other editors on the Talk:William Lane Craig have posted other sources which indicate similar stances to my own. I would like to add that as a past and present university student who writes papers at university, I don't always go to great lengths to describe who I am citing.

For example, during a criminology essay, I might say in reference to the criminologist Robert Agnew: Agnew (2006) observes that research relevant to the issues of homelesssness and/or crime had suggested homelessness and the difficulties that homelessness creates or presents for those who experience a period, or periods, of homelessness - seen particularly in relation to youth homelessness - has a significant effect on crime, particularly on youth crime. I would like people to interpret that sentence as suggesting that I think that the sociologist Robert Agnew is first or primarily a criminologist. Similarly if I were to write a philosophy essay using William Lane Craig's work, I would like people to interpret my words as suggesting that I think that William Lane Craig is first primarily a philosopher. I would not be suprised if most philosophers who cite William Lane Craig in their philosophy books and articles want to suggest that William Lane Craig is a first/primarily a philosopher even if they don't explicitly say so.

Ignoring my changes instead of helping me fix an article

You didn't even look at my changes, just changed the article back to the way it was despite content that was a personal attack. What gives you the right to do that? I see that you did that to another person, too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Beth87311 (talkcontribs) 18:51, 18 August 2015 (UTC)

Changes to the Heat Staking wikipedia article

Hi,

My name is Lance Crawford and I have been contributing to several Plastic Assembly and Technology based sections. I was hoping to get your feedback on the following edits you recently adjusted on the Heat Staking article in Wikipedia.

I have always tried to present technical data and not be self-promotional of our company versus other competitors. It was brought to my attention this week that our competitor whom had a link to their website in the article had recently also change the link from our website to go to their website instead.

Although both our websites were topical, they would have been considered sales related by nature. So I do not have a problem at all with their removal from this article.

The reference to the published article I had written for Plastic Decorating & Assembly Magazine before I had joined Thermal Press had a link that went dead in the last month or so since I last checked the article. changed and I noticed it is no longer available on the Plastic Decorating and Assembly Magazine website any longer, so I changed that to the link on our website.

* Sullivan, Gary & Crawford, Lance, "The Heat Stake Advantage". Plastic Decorating Magazine. January/February 2003 Edition. ISSN 1536-9870. (Topeka, KS: Peterson Publications, Inc.). Section: Assembly: pages 11-12, covers Sullivan & Crawford's article.

Is there anyway this article could still be referenced in the heat staking category, as it is not a sales pitch article at all, but only technical in nature. I am working with the editor at the magazine to find out why it is no longer accessible within the archive on their website.

Thank You,

Lance C. Thermal Press

Hi there,

I am really struggling to update the Dorling Kindersley page. It is filled with inaccuracies, for example the company have now officially changed their name to 'DK', they produce content in 62 languages and now have offices in many other countries that aren't listed in the current text.

I added the correct citations in the last edit I made but it was still removed, for the reason "citations must be added" which I find most unhelpful!

Please, either help me get the text updated to reflect the company's current position in the market or leave more constructive feedback if you are going to keep removing all the edits I make.

All the information I have been trying to update appears in this link... The official DK website.

Question on notability

Thank you for your review and helpful comments on the three articles that I have been working on: Mayapple Press, Backwaters Press, and Matt Mason (Poet). Your comments were challenging but hopefully we have addressed issues (or at least made progress). I understand that often what is relevant or not and/or what is sufficient sourcing is at times somewhat subjective and I am all in favor of working towards consensus of multiple editors to address such questions. As a new editor though, what I need additional guidance on is what you regard as the criteria for notability. All three of these articles have been on Wikipedia for several (+5) years (even to the point that what I saw that I was mostly doing was "updating" them) and appeared to have notability issues long resolved, but you have tagged them all as problematic in that regard and in one case, have requested deletion. Can you provide me with your objective standard that you would accept as confirming these articles are "notable?" Are there standards which can be relied on as the consensus of most editors? Do forgive me, I do not mean to be contentious. I am new and undoubtedly require some education on this matter. But it would seem to me that if these articles indeed are not notable, then a serious and perhaps impossible to resolve methodological issue exists with Wikipedia editing, such that that it continues to force editors "to go in circles" and allows no understood resolution. With all due respect, I started to work on these articles to hopefully resolve issues, not to "go in circles" on issues long resolved. Thank you for your patience with me.

Salisbury Playhouse UK on Wikipedia

Hi. As Salisbury Playhouse (an arts business in the UK), we have been trying to get some factually incorrect and out of date information changed on the Salisbury Playhouse Wikipedia description but are being prevented as a 'conflict of interest', which is frustrating. How can we correct the out of date information? marketing@salisburyplayhouse.com — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.33.74.63 (talk) 15:38, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

If you use the article talk page to make suggestions a neutral uninvolved editor can add content if it is suitable though your additions so far have been ridiculously promotional in tone. Theroadislong (talk) 15:52, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

I WAS NOT VANDALIZING

You told me in a message that I may blocked if I vandalized again like I did at Judas Iscariot. But I was not trying to harm Wikipedia. I was only pointing out that even though scholars rejected certain ideas, they were not impossible. This is not false ideas. Whenever I try making edits to certain biblical articles, I am always reverted , even though I did not delete important information or insert false details. It is unjust to be accused of vandalism when you were not even writing false information or deleting important sentences. Wikipedia is the most biased work I've known. It is as though they want to unnecessarily call religious ideas myths. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.100.116.118 (talk) 21:46, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Media The University has many media outlets run by current and ex-students through the Guild or independently. These include newspapers, tv stations, radio, magazines and music.

Journalism Exeposé is the official student newspaper of the Guild, it has been in print since 1987 and has run many successful pieces over this time and even picked up some awards, it is published every two weeks. Room XVII is a tabloid newspaper that is to begin printing in September 2015 to introduce an alternative to Exeter students wishing to have more regular news.

XTV and Xpression FM as mentioned are guild affiliated news sources that aim to cover a variety of life at the University. XTV will be broadcasting 10-11am throughout freshers week 2015. Xpression FM traces its routes back to 1976 and continues the tradition of hosting student written and run shows throughout term time.

An increasingly wide array of magazines, usually published termly or yearly have appeared in Exeter over the years. The most famous of which is Exetera a witty culture magazine that focuses on long reads and good design. Razz is the self-styled Arts & Lifestyle magazine of Exeter and provides detailed journalism from across the globe. PearShaped Magazine is a music focussed magazine that draws a wide readership for its gig reviews of concerts happening across the South West. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bdurston (talkcontribs) 14:45, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Re: Matt Nolan Custom cymbals entry on Cymbal Manufacturers page

Hello there,

Please would you explain what specifically was wrong with my contribution to the cymbal manufacturers page? I wrote neutral, factual information. In what way was my material different than that for any of the other manufacturers? This content was up for several years and nobody had any complaint.

Respectfully, Matt. Teethmeister (talk) 11:07, 25 August 2015 (UTC)

You don't appear to be notable there is no article about you and it appeared to be self promotion. Theroadislong (talk) 10:15, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
There are at least 3 articles about me (me alone) in print in separate drumming magazines. I'm not at home right now so I don't have those references to hand - instead I used (for now) references to me that I could find in magazines online. I am thanked and credited in the liner notes on Bjork's Biophilia album. I was mentioned by notable music writer Alex Ross in the Observer (national Sunday broadsheet) newspaper in the UK. There have been articles on me (me alone) in Jersey Life and Somerset Life magazines in the UK. Besides all that, in what way is neutral, factual information about my work any different than information about Zildjian or UFIP or Paiste? Or Matt Bettis? Please explain. Teethmeister (talk) 11:07, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
It is considered extremely bad form to write an article about yourself, if you are notable then someone else will do it. Theroadislong (talk) 10:38, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
Steve Hubback and Michael Paiste are notable independent cymbal makers also. I added content about them (years ago) which I believe you have also removed. Please explain. Teethmeister (talk) 11:07, 25 August 2015 (UTC)

Re: Edits to the Make A Difference page

Hi, thank you for highlighting the issues with my edits to the Make A Difference page. Bit novice around these various protocols as editing Wikipedia for the first time. Didn't realise that I needed to list that I work with Make A Difference, and therefore have a connection, and not sure where or how to do that. The edits were made simply to update content that was heavily out of date and inaccurately presented in the previous instance as the organisation has changed significantly over the past two years. Have tried to be as neutral as possible, but can see issues with the way the recognition section was presented. Will edit and resolve. Hopefully better now. This article is not meant to act as an advertisement, so if any other content violates neutral expectation please advise. Makeadifferenceindia (talk) 16:03, 29 August 2015 (UTC)

The whole article now reads like an advert I'm afraid. Theroadislong (talk) 16:41, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
