Dhaka MRT colour denotations
Hey there. I noticed you have been denoting the Dhaka Metro Lines with colours such as Line 6 as purple, Line 1 as red and Line 2 as lime green. Such colours are unofficial and may spread false information. Colours shall be only denoted if the lines are named after colour or if the lines are designated a colour by the official authority even if they have letters or numbers. I believe it would be more appropriate if we could settle by using an official/theme colour or neutral colours! Like Green and White are theme colours and Black and White are neutral. The wiki pages for metro lines and stations of that line shall go by that colour uniformly. Please do check the most recent discussion on the talk page of Dhaka Metro. I appreciate your hard work on creating more pages to spread knowledge about our motherland. Our cooperation can make this platform and information on it about our nation better! Cheers and Joy Bangla! Here I am using this website (talk) 06:37, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Here I am using this website They are not official color for lines. But in DMTCL website, if you see the metro network, you will see that they assigned color for every line. There is a possibility that they will make them official color soon. My thought is we should keep the color for now. Because in the station articles we will have to show lines in the service of the infobox. Same color will make them odd. Mehedi Abedin 06:42, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
- may I get the reference link? Here I am using this website (talk) 06:43, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Here I am using this website Of course. See here. Also check this image. This image was captured by me at Uttara North metro station. Mehedi Abedin 06:47, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
- but you have assigned Line 6 as purple even though it's not Here I am using this website (talk) 16:14, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Here I am using this website Yes because that color was taken from older map of Dhaka Metro. Notice that I wrote in the edit summary of MRT Line 6 that the color was changed. That's why I changed it to green from purple in MRT Line 6. Mehedi Abedin 18:58, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
- Cant you change the colour of the tags to their respective colour? Btw just found out that you were absolutely right and the colours are official. MRT Line 5 will have blue themed trains and MRT Line 1 will have red themed trains. Check here Here I am using this website (talk) 09:01, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Here I am using this website Yes I am on it. First I need to know the color codes. I requested a Wikipedian to get the color codes, he will also create route maps of three lines and upload to Commons. But he has exams so it will take time. After he give me color codes I will request a edit in the rail color module page. I guess that will take 3-7 days. And glad to know that you created article of MRT Line 5. Congratulations. I wanted to create it but that's good that you created it earlier. But I have a proposal: MRT Line 5 have two routes and this two route have two distinctive color. Could you move the page to "MRT Line 5 (Northern route)" and make it exclusively for northern route? (Because government will first start northern route if I am not wrong). Mehedi Abedin 09:07, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
- Dw about the colour coding I already used both the colours. Also could you help me by fill up rest of the informations of MRT Line 5 such the starting and ending terminii and location of the stations. Thank You :) Here I am using this website (talk) 12:49, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Here I am using this website It will be done within couple of days. Mehedi Abedin 12:50, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
- Dont you think the colour #1E5B46 is a more suitable green for Line 6, it's the exact or almost the exact shade. I got this colour by using an HEX Colour Picker software to select colours of the line on the official government map from the link you provided, can we switch to a more accurate colour what do you think the MRT Line 5 colours have been picked in this way too. Umair Sikder Sakik (talk) 18:36, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Umair Sikder Sakik Good question. I think we should use #1E5B46 for MRT Line 6. And MRT Line 5 still okay because it has two routes and these two routes have different colors. Mehedi Abedin 18:39, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Umair Sikder Sakik But I will try to verify the colors using adobe illustrator color picking tools to see if they are okay. Mehedi Abedin 18:41, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
- sure and in MRT Line 5 i have used two colours in the banner. it's better to create sections rather than creating a new article we should not create two pages just for colour. We maintained one page for MRT Line 1 for both route even if they have same colour. That will go against the "philosophy" of simplicity and uniformity Umair Sikder Sakik (talk) 19:46, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Umair Sikder Sakik Creating two separate article for MRT Line 5 route will not be bad idea. Because if you see the route map of MRT Line 5 then you will see that the two routes are like two distinctive lines but they are actually routes officially. And what conncets the two routes of the same line? Only the proposed Gabtoli metro station, nothing else. So they are like two independent lines but we call them routes. And that's why we have two colors for each route. For MRT Line 1 we have only one color and what connects two routes of the line is Nadda and Notun Bazar interchange that will have two branch lines connects the whole line. Also, two colors for the two routes of MRT Line 5 indicates that DMTCL regard them as independent route that are notable enough to have separate articles. Also having separate articles will help people to realize that what routes goes where and will encounter confusion. The present MRT Line 5 can be an umbrella page for the both route that should have content of both routes. Mehedi Abedin 02:53, 23 June 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Urban Projects
A tag has been placed on Category:Urban Projects indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 07:14, 30 July 2023 (UTC)

R164 (Bangladesh)
You recently created the redirect R164 (Bangladesh) to Chittagong–Kaptai highway but all that information on the page suggests R163. Is this the correct target, or could you add categories as to why it is an appropriate related target?
Thanks, microbiologyMarcus [petri dish·growths] 15:30, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
- @MicrobiologyMarcus Thanks for the question. Actually, the road is the combination of R163 and R164, but the big part of this road is R163, R164 occupies only 20% of it. In our country we don't mention highway by its own code, we call by common name. Also it is important to know that the road "Chittagong–Kaptai" sometimes referred by R163 only, but most of the time in newspapers Chittagong–Kaptai = R163+R164. That explains why there is zero source about R164. Mehedi Abedin 15:36, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
- While that makes sense (I'm halfway around the world) and I have no reason to believe you're lying, unfortunately "R164" is not mentioned anywhere on the target article and this therefore reads like WP:OR. If you have a source that verifies as much and put a mention to the above in the article, I will go ahead and mark your redirect as patrolled once R164 is mentioned and verified in the article, as I did for your R163 (Bangladesh) redirect here. Cheers, microbiologyMarcus [petri dish·growths] 15:52, 25 March 2024 (UTC)

- @Jax 0677 Of course. But I also forgot to say that in Bengali language, we use "O" instead of "A" like Persian language. "Babita" is the hindustani pronunciation. And "Bobita" is bengali pronunciations. And Babita is Bengali actress. Mehedi Abedin 23:42, 5 May 2024 (UTC)

Origin of Indo Muslim term
Greetings.
Word Indo is latin form of Persian Hindoo هندو term.
Hindoo> Indo (deleting initial and final letter from Hindoo)
Persian Hindoo هندو was a political term till 1860.
Example:
During 1857 Hindoo term was used as a citizen of Mogul empire.
A couplet of Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar
https://www.prathaculturalschool.com/post/bahadur-shah-zafar-poetry
Here Hindoo means Indians. Indo means latinised version of term Hindoo.
Yea Mogul dynasty is completely Hindoo-Mosulman aka Indo-Muslim.

Bengali script category
Kaithi, Odia and Sylheti Nagri are not Bengali-Assamese or Bengali scripts. Their origin is different, as can be seen in the tree diagrams of the respective infoboxes. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 20:36, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Fylindfotberserk Well, if you see the article Bengali language, then you can see that these scripts also used by people to write in Bengali sometimes. Mehedi Abedin 20:37, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
- You are mixing up script system with language. Shahmukhi is used to write Punjabi in Pakistan, but the script article doesn't mention 'Punjabi script' as a category. Shahmukhi is derived from Perso-Arabic script. You can write Bengali using any writing system, even Englisn, that wouldn't make English a Bengali script. About new spelling of Five district.
I saw you frequently changes the name of the district or places like Jashore to Jessore. I think you know the changes done by the govt. 6 years ago in 2018. So I think, it is enough time to keep the new spelling in the articles. For example Allahabad in India changed its name in 2018. Now they are using Prayagraj instead of Allahabad. So I suggest you "Do not use old spelling instead of New one". Stud.asif (talk) 07:30, 12 July 2024 (UTC)

Hi Mehedi Abedin,
Thanks for informing Mollathevalor about the policy against edit warring. However, the three-revert rule is just a part of it, and it's often not about 3 reverts in 24 hours but the general behavior. Also, please focus on content on article talk pages and raise such concerns on the users' talk pages.
Best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 14:39, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- @ToBeFree Did you even read his comment after he reverted several times? It is not about the content, he clearly said that he will do that again and again. If he don't want to discuss and reach consensus without removing the section then there is something wrong about the user's behaviour. Mehedi Abedin 14:43, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- I did – which is why Mollathevalor is currently blocked from editing the article. But that's something that can be discussed on the user's talk page, and reported at the edit warring noticeboard, which is how I found it. The article's talk page should ideally stay free from behavioral discussions. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 14:53, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- @ToBeFree Ok, I understand. Mehedi Abedin 14:59, 1 September 2024 (UTC)

Can you please check out the Amar Sonar Bangla article, constantly vandalised editings made the article ruined. I tried to revert but these edits made it very complex & hard to revert Ahammed Saad (talk) 07:46, 5 September 2024 (UTC)

About a edit on Dhaka city
I think Dhaka was a city of rickshaw, but not now.
Dhaka is better known as the City of Mosques, that’s why i highlighted that. Cerium4B (talk) 16:38, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Cerium4B Well then you can highlight that. But Dhaka "was a city of rickshaw, but not now"? I don't think so, number of Rickshaws increased in the city in the present more. Also even now Dhaka is not so modern to remove all rickshaw from the city. And yup, I am seeing more rickshaws even now. Mehedi Abedin 16:42, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- You’re right, rickshaws are still a major part of Dhaka's transportation. However, I think Dhaka has evolved beyond being just a "City of Rickshaws." With the rise of cars, buses, metro lines, and ridesharing services, the city's identity has shifted toward a more modern, diverse transportation system. On the other hand, cities like Rangpur still rely heavily on rickshaws as the main form of transport. The number of rickshaws there has grown significantly, and they remain central to daily life. Cerium4B (talk) 17:31, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Cerium4B But that doesn’t mean that Dhaka is not city of Rickshaws anymore. this news from 2024 still recognizes it as the city of rickshaws. Also the nickname is not based on "main form of transport", it is based on reliable sources. As editors, we don't interpret or explain sources here except some situations. That means we simply write what reliable sources tell us, and they tell us that Dhaka is called as the "city of rickshaws". There is no chance to interpret or use another way. For more information, see WP:OR. Mehedi Abedin 17:42, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
