If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. Speedy deletion nomination of Fábio Oliveira
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Fábio Oliveira requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Abishe (talk) 19:10, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
The article Tiago Cardoso Fonseca has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
BLP about a footballer which fails WP:NFOOTBALL (never played in a fully-pro league or in a cup competition between 2 clubs from fully-pro leagues - Palmas wasn't participating in a fully-pro league in 2005) and WP:GNG.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jogurney (talk) 14:43, 27 September 2017 (UTC)

Alcántara
Btw . The surname is actually Andalusian Spanish before it was Brazilian. A person who has never lived in Brazil or Portugal and has Spanish nationality since age of five would be Alcántara on his passport. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:48, 30 September 2017 (UTC)
Hi. Thankyou for your participation in the challenge series or/and contests. In November The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There will be over $4000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. If this would appeal to you and you think you'd be interested in contributing new articles on women during this month for your region or wherever please sign up in the participants section. The articles done may also count towards the ongoing challenge. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate and raise money to buy books about women for others to use, this is also fine. Help would also be appreciated in drawing up the lists of missing articles. If you think of any missing articles please add them to the sub lists by continent at Missing articles. Thankyou, and if taking part, good luck!♦ Dr. Blofeld 08:38, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

Bio of Marco Alverà, Ceo of Snam - any suggestion?
Hi Matthew hk. I have recently submitted a draft containing the biography of Marco Alverà, CEO of Snam, the Italian natural gas infrastructure company (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Marco_Alver%C3%A0). Judging by what is written within the WikiProject Biography next to your nickname, I thought this content might be of interest to you. I was wondering if you could have a look and tell me what you think. Thank you in advance Anna Sai (talk) 15:36, 5 October 2017 (UTC)
- I don't usually create article for business people (despite some content additional on existing banker article), but i think you have to establish the person's WP:GNG instead of routine mention of each job title during his career. But i am not quite familiar with the specific guideline of businesspeople , just routine fix on general coding fix. Matthew_hk tc 16:02, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

Lampedusa
Hi Matthew! Momentarily it appears as though the server supporting Servizio Meteorologico are down for the long-term averages, which is a rather unfortunate occurence. Looking at the 1961-1990 data provided there though they seem to match relatively well for what I would expect for an isolated island during that timeframe, especially in terms of extremely low diurnal ranges in summer. I'd like to find a 1981-2010 source for Lampedusa since that is more contemporary climate data though, so perhaps I will be go looking for it rather soon! Also, my sincere thanks for stopping the vandalization of Catania. If you have any mod capacities I would urge you to go and look at Benidorm and Gandia and those fake Weatherboxes User:TechnicianGB is responsible for creating those fake Weatherboxes and that user deserves to be shut down for vandalizing Wikipedia. He even admitted to me in a weather forum PM yesterday that Benidorm has fake numbers. I have the screenshot! Cheers! Lommaren (talk) 09:13, 24 October 2017 (UTC)
@Lommaren: I don't know why you are attacking me and doing a senseless blame against me. In the Benidorm page I've cleared that those stats are done mixing those 2 sources from the sourced websites (maded up), and in the Gandia page it says clearly 3 years of data. Those numbers from Gandia were included like 2 years ago and no one had a problem with it except for few anonymous IPs and yourself. Anyways, not sure what's my relationship with Matthew asking you about Lampedusa and you mentioning me here? Strange.
I'm not sure why do you think you know me, I don't post on forums except for few ones, mostly related to gardening and plants and i'm pretty sure that I didn't see you before. Maybe someone pretends to be me? Anyways, this is Wikipedia. What happens on a forum on the Internet is not relevant...
I deserve to be shut down for vandalizing Wikipedia? I don't do nothing more than improving wikipedia almost every time when I do an edit, as well as I unmasked many sock puppets of previously banned users, as well as reverting lots of rage edits, such as the ones in the page of Almeria to put an example. For the Benidorm one I even asked one user a month ago to remove it or to make a change on it, didn't have any reply. And you, instead of coming to talk with me and to do something about that page if you really want to, just as I asked Sfoske70 https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Benidorm&action=history instead of solving your problem with that page, you say that "I must be shut down for vandalizing" and that "I admitted you" who knows what in a "weather forum". Well, it wasn't clearly me if that's true. And this is Wikipedia, it's not related to what someone said or not in a random forum. --TechnicianGB (talk) 16:12, 24 October 2017 (UTC)

His death was in February 2013. I was trying to add a citation to his part of the article since there was none. The Wikipedia citation tool wasn't working for me so I just copy pasted a citation from another part of the article, and filled in the proper details. In that one the date listed as January 29 2013, but since that didn't make sense I just decided to increase it by a month since he died in February 2013, so how could the date be one month before his death? I didn't realize there was no 29th of February in 2013. My bad. I'm stupid. --110.93.236.75 (talk) 19:52, 31 October 2017 (UTC)

Hello Matthew_hk
Hello Matthew_hk,
Thank you for your message.
The image is taken when the subject is around 40 years old in the late 1930s. So I was definately taken before 1967.
This image is now in the public domain in China because its term of copyright has expired there. So, it qualified for the public domain criteria. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Asia Editor (talk • contribs) 09:54, 18 November 2017 (UTC)
- @Asia Editor: You have to fill the parameter when exactly it was taken, not by guess (unless in the photo have information to indicate photo taken date, but still did not indicate photo publish date) Also the server of wikipedia is in the US, seem it have to be prove in that part of the law also. Hello Matthew_hk,
Thank you for your message. It can be sure that this image is taken in the late 1930s (no exact date as it's too old). So, it was 100% in the public domain in China.
The image is also in the public domain in the U.S., as it applies the rule of the shorter term and have copyright terms longer than life of the author plus 70 years.
If you have any further questions. Please don't hesitate to ask me.
Cheers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Asia Editor (talk • contribs) 10:11, 18 November 2017 (UTC)

According to copyright laws of the People's Republic of China (with legal jurisdiction in the mainland only, excluding Hong Kong and Macao) and the Republic of China (currently with jurisdiction in Taiwan, the Pescadores, Quemoy, Matsu, etc.), all photographs enter the public domain 50 years after they were first published, or if unpublished 50 years from creation, and all non-photographic works enter the public domain fifty years after the death of the creator.

Request assistance on Xi (business)
I have started this page. Could you please consider also adding some input? Muzzleflash (talk) 20:23, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
- It look too WP:OR topic to me. It differ from
ZaibatsuKeiretsu, but linguistically the same as series. Did the source describe the phenomenon of HNA Group owned listed companies, or CK Hutchison Holdings Wheelock & Co-The Wharf? Matthew_hk tc 20:30, 17 November 2017 (UTC) - Or the series of companies owned by Xiao Jianhua? Matthew_hk tc 20:33, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
- but with so much academic lit on this concept, is it possible to consider an article on this to be original research? The Tomorrow Group is often referred to in popular media as this type of organization so I think it is really helpful to have an article providing background on what it means. Muzzleflash (talk) 09:37, 18 November 2017 (UTC)
- If there is academic source, it is not an OR. But
ZaibatsuKeiretsu was some translated as the same word (Chinese: 系列) with Xi (Chinese: 系; pinyin: Xì) in Chinese language (there were different BTW), look heavy reading to me to expand it. - And i just pop out the example likes the series of companies of the alleged empire of Xiao Jianhua (Chinese: 明天系) and Guo Wengui (Chinese: 政泉系). Need to read what the academic paper saying in order to expand it.
- Also the term (Chinese: 系; Jyutping: hai6) was used in a more generic way in Hong Kong, likes CK Hutchison (Chinese: 長和系) and Lippo Limited (Chinese: 力寶系) as between the listed companies of the conglomerate, there are connection as shareholder, but in the mainland Chinese, sometimes they did not have connection as shareholder, or by natural person nominee (instead of legal person) Matthew_hk tc 09:47, 18 November 2017 (UTC)
- find out i spelled wrong entirely. it is Keiretsu. Matthew_hk tc 13:41, 18 November 2017 (UTC)
- If there is academic source, it is not an OR. But
Well thanks at least for having a look at the article. I share your enthusiasm for creating articles on Chinese companies but also think we should spend time improving background info on the fundamentals of corporate China. Muzzleflash (talk) 12:54, 19 November 2017 (UTC)
Mutual guarantees among Chinese private companies
Sorry for bringing up another topic but wondering if you are interested in starting an article on this phenomenon of mutual guarantees between Chinese companies. The sources in English seem very limited and only mention it in passing, not giving the concept a proper name even, so I don't have enough info to start an article. But it seems like a widespread business practice particular to China so I wonder if you are interested in starting an article on this? Muzzleflash (talk) 07:56, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
"In response, private companies often band together, guaranteeing one another’s borrowings, to give bank credit officers more confidence that loans will be repaid. The downside is that if one company runs into trouble, it can drag down the other companies that guaranteed its debts. Those other companies, in turn, can set off their own credit guarantees from yet more companies with no direct connection to the first one." https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/25/business/china-zouping-debt-bank-crisis.html
"Xiwang’s credit guarantee to Qixing, in the form of a mutual guarantee, is a common practice by Chinese companies seeking to secure credit. But analysts warn it can easily amplify risks and cause crises if a weak link is broken. “The precondition for a mutual guarantee is that [the firms] must have no business overlaps or connections. Otherwise, it may actually amplify risks,” said Lu Zhengwei, the chief economist at Industrial Bank in Shanghai. The mutual guarantee network previously unravelled in two large credit risk incidents in China: a financial crisis in Wenzhou in 2012 and a steel-trade credit meltdown in the Yangtze River Delta in 2014." http://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/economy/article/2088807/county-centre-chinese-debt-crisis
- Yet i just pop out the financial trick of HNA Group. The Chinese word for the trick was Chinese: 互保; pinyin: Hù bǎo (shorten from "Chinese: 互相; lit. 'Mutual'" + 保 insurance /protection/ guarantee, but by context should means "guarantee" (simplified Chinese: 担保; traditional Chinese: 擔保), but not sure it is unique in mainland China or it was used in other countries. I have time to have a look after 23 November 2017. May be the business school library of UWA have some material. Matthew_hk tc 08:00, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
