Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/The World Contest/Missing articles
Help is greatly needed! in drawing up missing articles for the contest. Please consider helping add missing articles to different countries on the lists in the sub pages. Book prizes are being offered to the most prolific editors who build these lists and filter for notability. There are masses of red linked lists in Template:Women in Red and Template:Women in Red missing articles by nationality but entries added need quickly assessing for notability before being copied to the contest lists.

The Librarian's Missing Article Prize
[edit]Given the importance of finding a plentiful supply of notable missing women bios and ensuring more even coverage worldwide, between 16th and 31st of October there will be $75 worth of book prizes given to the editors who put in the biggest effort at beefing up the sub lists by country. You may copy entries from the wikidata lists and format them using the current layout, and find missing articles from dictionaries of biographies (masses of red linked lists at Template:Women in Red), or google search and try to find entries manually. However, try to ensure that entries added meet notability requirements, the current lists may need cleaning up and filtering for notability, efforts towards that will also be taken into account. I will judge in early November as the contest kicks off which editors have put in the biggest effort to contribute towards the lists by examining the page histories and give deserving recipients a budget to buy a book of their choice on Amazon to be used to contribute to Wikipedia and further improve the project, so the reward won't be "paid editing" but be a way of investing the time and money spent back into the project. To be elligible to win a prize I must see a significant effort to bulk up and clean up the lists globally, not just one country but a range of different countries and occupations red linked as the goal is to try to find a plentiful and fairly even supply of notable missing content for different countries. Given the limited budget I won't be able to afford to reward everybody who contributes to the lists so the prizes will be reserved to just a few of the most prolific list builders. Please try to ensure that all entries added meet notability requirements and that the occupations of the missing bios are mentioned.
