I don't know what you know about Denmark but the kommuner (municipalities) are cleary distinct to the towns. The latest municipality reform made the municipalities of Denmark even bigger than before. Maybe compare it with New York and New York City. Can you please recreate my article Struer and Struer, Denmark including its history. To redirect UN/LOCODE:DKSTR to the municipality is absoltly wrong. I am seperating the twons etc from the municipalities especially for making good links for the UN/LOCODE. I don't know what you know about UN/LOCODE, but they are related to delivery of goods, so precision is important. LocodeMaster (talk) 15:37, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, I see nothing got deleted. So everything is fine with that subject. LocodeMaster (talk) 15:43, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Regards and thank you
Hi Matthew, I have seen that you did not only revert some work I did - which I was not soooo happy about ;-), but I now also saw that you did some cleansing of my work on the disambig pages, which I am happy about. Thanks a lot, best regards LocodeMaster (talk) 16:11, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Paquito
No worries. I used the Paquito article since it was more complete and the player's common name. However, you are correct that other footballers use the same name. It looks like we need an admin to move the page to Anderson Luiz Pinheiro. Best regards. Jogurney (talk) 16:53, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Paolo Seppani
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Paolo Seppani, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- The article fails to establish the notability of the subject, and I was unable to find any reliable sources to establish his notability.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Warning on edits to Thiago Silva page
You must stop editing the Thiago Emiliano de Silva page. He is NOT signed with this club you mentioned, Tombense. In fact there are pictures with him with his Milan team mates on the official ACMilan.com website. The deal was signed. It's will be made official with Lega Calcio in the Summer of 2009, but he still did have the agreement. If you make any more malicious edits on this page, you will be reported. Gcarini (talk) 19:41, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
- Please read www.lega-calcio.it and CBF. Both were official source. Sila trained with teammate, but his contract was not yet disclosed yet. Matthew_hk tc 14:46, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- You're officially warned. Thiago Silva is going to undergo a friendly game with Milan tomorrow. You can check the line ups tomorrow. If you make any further edits to the Thiago Silva page, I will push a complaint against you. You're wrong about Silva. He's with Milan, not this made up squad you came up. http://www.acmilan.com/NewsDetail.aspx?idNews=78818 - "Wednesday night at 20.30 Milan will face German side Hannover 96 at the AWD Arena of Hannover in a friendly. It will also be the first chance to see Thiago Silva with the Rossoneri shirt." Gcarini (talk) 08:18, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- Technically he is a Tombense player, as stated in CBF official website- (Brazilian FA). As us state, due to EU quota, he cannot officially registered in Lega Calcio (Italian League office), so you cannot found his name in OFFICIAL TRANSFER LIST, but he still can play friendly match. Matthew_hk tc 08:24, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- You're completely wrong. He is not a "Tombense" player. He is not at all. You will be reported and blocked from making any further edits. He did not sing up for Tombense. You're simply wrong. He's a free agent who has agreed to terms with Milan, and since he can't register he is technically a free agent. Stop making malicious edits, or you will be blocked Gcarini (talk) 08:26, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- Just go to wikiproject football, to discuss this edit war. Reliable source is official source > media report. Matthew_hk tc 08:28, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- I posted official sources from ACMilan.com. If you edit this page again you will be reported to wikipedia and your editing features will be blocked temporarily. This is your final warning. Gcarini (talk) 08:31, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Edgardo Simovic
Dear Matthew,
I corrected all the info on behalf of Edgardo Simovic as he didn't know how to do it himself. The information there is very innacurate and it's causing him problems because teams think he hasn't played at all for the last two years. Also, he never played for Miramar Misiones, so the info were you are getting all these is completely wrong. You are saying he didn't play any games in most clubs, for example in Olimpia from Paraguay, if you look at the videos at www.edgardosimovic.com you will see that he played many games and scored many goals. Please change it back to what I sent you. The only correct info you have is the date of birth and height. You can reference the site to www.edgardosimovic.com
Feel free to contact me directly to rodrigoalonso@hotmail.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gato829 (talk • contribs) 17:00, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
- Matthew,
- You changed it back again. Don't you see it's impossible for a player to play 61 games in a Semester as you included on Maritimo? You also have that he didn't play any games and didn't score any goals for Aucas in Ecuador, that's probably because you didn't go to his website and look at his videos. Just look at the ones from Aucas and you'll realize that he did play.
- You can check on different websites to see that he did play [1]
- But please stop being stuborn and if you really want to add the biography of someone you need to have the correct data.
- Feel free to contact Edgardo Simovic through his website and ask about me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gato829 (talk • contribs) 16:32, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Sortkey
Hi there MATTHEW, VASCO from Portugal here,
About this article (Vitor Hugo Gomes Passos) and the defaulsort, here are my thoughts: I changed the sortkey to PELE because that is how player is known, not by any of his surnames. So, when a person did a search in FC PORTO FOOTBALLERS, he would be where he should, in letter "P". As a matter of fact, you redirected it to PASSOS as first surname, which also begins with "P", but in many other cases it does not match.
Do not wish any edit wars, so i will leave it that way, but i think the defaultsort should contain the footballer's main name, even if it is a nickname.
You sent me this message and i answered, because i try my best to be polite. Almost two years ago, after being accused of adding defamatory info in this article (see the warning here, when i was anonymous http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:217.129.67.28#August_2007), i tried to contact you three times and received no answer. Could you please tell me why?
Keep up the good work, VASCO AMARAL - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 21:53, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:FC CSCA Chişinău.gif)
Thanks for uploading File:FC CSCA Chişinău.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:08, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Again!
Mr.MATTHEW, VASCO here,
for the 2nd time, you sent, to my anonymous IP account, a message accusing me of adding defamatory content to an article (and threatening me with a block), in this case Bruno Vale. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:217.129.67.28#Bruno_Vale) Obviously, you were wrong again, i did nothing wrong, i updated article and improved it.
Please do not bother me again unless you have a very strong reason to do so. I know that anonymous IP sometimes get these messages, but it's a bit annoying. And last time i tried to talk to you to resolve things, i received no answer.
Greetings, have a good week,
VASCO AMARAL - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 02:21, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
Liverpool Youth
The Swedish lad was born in Kosovo, allright? It say's so on his Liverpool FC profile! User:Fry2000 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.10.100.80 (talk) 16:12, 21 February 2009
But are you sure that matters? Where he's born is Kosove now. Do you know what wiki policy on this stuff is? If you can't give me an answer within the next day or to then I'm going to put it back. Fry2000
About Hakan Yakın
Though his name is written Hakan Yakın in german and other non-turkish sources, the correct turkish name should be put in brackets. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Saguamundi (talk • contribs) 20:30, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Armend Dallku
Hello Matthew. You requested an external source giving Dallku's name in its Serbo-Croat form. The situation is that his name is being given in Serbo-Croat to reflect its official spelling for the country in which he was born. It may seem political, but this form I am giving was the primary form in the former Yugoslavia; this is to do with the laws of the old country and its writing conventions. This is the key to the sources, and these things can be obtained by following the links for SFRY and related sources. These examples go far and wide and well beyond the world of football and they are remote from the Balkans. However, within the Balkans, I ask you to look at the following examples of non-Slavic persons born within the former Yugoslavia during its time: Arben Xhaferi, Hashim Thaci, Monica Seles, Nexhmije Pagarusha, Agim Ceku, Magdolna Rúzsa, Félix Lajkó Sylvester Levay, Zoltán Dani, Árpád Sterbik, István Pásztor, Sándor Páll, András Ágoston and József Kasza. Outside of the former Yugoslavia, the name of Kostas Novakis is given in Greek to reflect his national spelling despite being Slavic; away from the Balkans entirely, Jalal Talabani is given in Arabic for no other reason than he is born in Iraq, he is otherwise Kurdish. The list I could give you is endless. You're probably unaware that some time ago, I reached a compromise with an ethnic Albanian Wikipedian where-by we agreed to include a Serbo-Croat form for Albanians born in Yugoslavian Kosovo, but in Latinic only because of the absence of Cyrillic between 1974 and 1989. As you can see, I am adhering to this policy. I believe that the anonymous user who originally took issue with the name is not from Kosovo; it is clear from other edits attributed to the user, so this should cause no future porblems. In the meantime, if you wish to remove the Serbo-Croat name from any footballer born in Yugoslavia, please first remove the national but non-native variations from all those listed above and see whether it will stand; if you can amend Wikipedia practice, then I have no problem with that. But I have given you a handful from hundreds of thousands of examples across the site. Thank you. Evlekis (talk) 19:39, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Also, if you insist on a source, here is one: [2], I should stress however, that this individual may have a different name form for many languages, but we don't list them all. No point adding it to the article because I am showing you this person to person. Regards. Evlekis (talk) 19:48, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
The Yakın brothers
I am sorry I was unable to find the style manual on football. I need a direct link. However, I have taken part in similar discussions before; they invariably discuss the article name where-as we are only debating whether or not to include certain content. I am not lobbying to have the brothers moved to titles reflecting their Turkish names, I am only ensuring that their Turkish names are on display. I am happy enough to see it moved farther down, such as in the personal background sections, but not taken out entirely. I feel I should draw your attention that to subscribe to this, you will be unwittingly contradicting yourself on your stand on Dallku, whose title name is based on his ethnic background and not his country of birth. On a free encyclopaedia, additional information should not cause offence. Evlekis (talk) 20:11, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
nk istra
hy! first of all, sorry for my bad english :), i saw that you were editing table on NK Istra. could you please tell me where did you find those informations, i have put them on article on croatian wiki long time ago, so i have totally forget where have i found them. could you answer me on my talk page on hr.wiki, i'm not too often here. thnx in advance ;) --zhile i 17:14, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Template:Fb team TOŠK Tešanj
Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}

Swiss football AfDs
Hi, I notice you nominated for deletion some articles you created via the AfD route. I was just wondering if there was a reason for doing this rather than using speedy deletion? Stu.W UK (talk) 19:59, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Pages moved
MR. MATTHEW, VASCO from Portugal here,
May i know why were these two pages (Miguel Ángel Sánchez and Miguel Ángel Carrilero) moved? The players are known both as MICHEL but, as there is a more famous MICHEL already (born in 1963), i inserted differences in the page's title. But you moved everything. Can i ask why, if it is not too much trouble?
Have a nice week,
VASCO AMARAL - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 21:45, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
moved page
Good move! I just noticed that you renamed "Swiss Super League 2002-03" to "2002–03 in Switzerland football" some time back. I was about to rename the various articles to "Swiss Football Championship 19xx". Before, I tried to get some feedback from the articles' creator and WP:CH, but w/o luck. Anyways, looking at Category:2001 in football (soccer), "2002–03 in Swiss football" seems closer to the others. Personally, I don't have a strong preference for one or the other, but the pre-2002 articles shouldn't remain where they are. -- User:Docu
Fluminense Football Club
Hi,
Please revert your changes on the Fluminense Football Club templates immediately. You backed out pristine, updated information in favour of obsolete ones. See http://www.fluminense.com.br/FluFcFutebol.asp?ism=3&idn=4566 for details. Also, those aren't even the colours of the club. If any colour is to be the dominant one, it has to be white, not green. See http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=fluminense+uniforme&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2&aq=f&oq= for details.
Thank you for your attention and better luck next time.
Pedrovsky (talk) 16:13, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hi,
- This is your second warning. Please back out your changes to the Fluminense Football Club templates immediately, for the reasons stated above. If you don't take action in the next 24 hours, I will report you to the Wikipedia authorities as a case of utter ignorance or deliberate vandalism.
- You can edit Template:Fluminense Football Club squad. But not to create duplicate copies. Matthew_hk tc 12:33, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- OK. Thank you for your attention.
Do you not know that transfers are not official until July 1 and January 1 every season? I would have thought you would have known that since it looks like you're a football fan. Kingjeff (talk) 23:26, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
- Tactically summer transfer only last for 6 weeks until 1 September according to FIFA status, but look at Kaka. For sure Spain window not open yet. Matthew_hk tc 15:22, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- There is nothing wrong with setting it up until. So you can add the new team to the the player templete and the player stats box. But we shouldn't have them officially changed until July 1. Kingjeff (talk) 15:30, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- Then use he was played for GCZ at 2008-09 season, but will play for XXX in 2009-10 season. After the start of season remove the past club. Matthew_hk tc 15:32, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- That's what you would do for the player templete and the player stats box. Noticed how I have Raúl Bobadilla already signed for Borussia Moenchengladbach Kingjeff (talk) 15:35, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- What exactly am I looking for? None of the 56 topic titles looks like what we are talking about. Kingjeff (talk) 15:49, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- Open a new topic. Matthew_hk tc 15:50, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- And say what? As far as I'm concerned, this should be automatic. Kingjeff (talk) 15:52, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
