for doing this. I had just spent time searching for all of the different difs and putting together some text and by the time I got there you beat me to it. My thoughts exactly!
I recall seeing your postings on 4d-don's page? I think you were on the Sahaj Marg page before I came on? (I watched Wiki from afar for a long time and finally took the plunge June 07 but I don't recall you while I was active on it?) Welcome back!
Do you know of any doctoral dissertations on Sahaj Marg? I've searched for them and found only one that mentioned it peripherally -- it listed it as an example of a meditation group. I think it was at a Texas university. (This was way back before the AFDs when we were trying to find secondary sources.)
You requested speedy deletion of this page as a re-creation of a previously deleted page. Can you point out the AfD where this content was previously deleted? Thanks. --Metropolitan90(talk)02:29, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
...and yes, I agree 1000 percent with you. This is very frustrating. By the way, you didn't sign your comment so I added the unsigned comment template from here. Helps me keep track of who writes what on my page. Renee (talk) 18:51, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
p.s. I just looked at your contribs and it looks like you're a new user (I noticed you got the welcome thing below from Pharaoh) yet you have old posts on 4d-don's page and when I click on your contribs on his history page it shows a different list here. Do you know what's going on? Renee (talk) 18:41, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Marathi_Mulaga,
Thanks for supporting the case I launched and your comment at [1]. I have a request though - with all sincerity, the case I have launched against CFW and Shashwat is against their actions and not themselves. So please, if we all can refrain from language and attitude of personal attack, it will be best for all. Duty2love (talk) 04:00, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Marathi - I'm currently traveling but will look for it Wed. morning when I'm home. By the way, just read your user page and learned all about you. Warrior huh? Interesting userpage! Thanks for hanging around the Sahaj Marg page. Renee (talk) 03:02, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Marathi,
In answer to your question here, I retrieved the entire article and yes, the quotation is extracted accurately. (It's a footnote.) I now have it as a pdf file and would be happy to email it to you. I tried to email via the link here, but it doesn't allow attachments. If you send me an email I'll respond with the attachment to your regular email. Renee (talk) 20:25, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
In answer to your question the way to remove the article from the "X needs attention" categories is to change the paramemters of the B-class list within the MILHIST template. I went ahead and did this for you, so it should be off the list now. Good work, BTW. Keep it up. TomStar81 (Talk) 09:08, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What about an article on Indian Naval aviation. It can have all information about past, present and future of Indian Naval aviation (This can include information on AC's aircrafts, the wars etc etc. What is your opinion. I will surely add my part but not now. I will be busy for some days.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 12:18, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the name of the article can be changed to Indian naval aviation. Also all the links need to be changed automatically. Administrator help can be requested in this matter.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 03:40, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Re: Need Help - How to change the title of an article
Thanks for the note but each fair use image still needs a fair use rationale for each page that it is used on. Fair use images are not normally used outside of the subject article which would be HAL Tejas but I have tagged the image as a candidate for speedy deletion which can be stopped if a fair use rationale is written for every use and that the rationale meets the criteria. MilborneOne (talk) 11:48, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have created a fair-use rationale for the image for it to be used in the HAL Tejas article, dont think the guidance allows it to be used in Indian Naval Air Arm where it is not the subject and just used for decoration. MilborneOne (talk) 12:41, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've been following the discussions on the Sahaj Marg page due to an interest in Cult Free World on another article. I thought you might find this useful.
Marathi, Thanks for moving the references around in the Sahaj Marg page. I was about to do the same. It looks great... Embhee (talk) 19:29, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Are you sure you don't want to move this to something like Indian Naval Air Arm or whatever the formal title of the force is? It would acknowledge your work on the page on the Air Arm itself and its people and history, not just its aircraft. Just a suggestion. Best regards from Down Under. Buckshot06(prof) 09:56, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'll do my best. I do hope I am being equitable, as I am not an expert in this subject -- actually, I know zero about this subject! On the plus side, the other editors involved have been very cordial and easy to understand. The worst is when there is a topic I know nothing about, and both sides tend to make very long confusing posts that I don't understand! ha ha ha... --Jaysweet (talk) 20:32, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There are many images of Surya Kiran and Dhruv in Flickr which satisfy the Wiki commons rule. Can you search it and load it when time permits. Also add the category so that multiple additions are avoided.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 03:37, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it is worth adding images of aircraft with foreign nations, even though we may be operating those. Ex.Hawk. It is not even inducted into the navy and the image did not suit the place. But the Mig-29 image is a good addition, since it did not come with any country sign. Regarding the image addition, I think it is necessary to have the image close to the same content. Certain images are being removed to make it worth look good.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 07:01, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I understood what you said. The screen makes a lot of different for viewing. There was similar problem for me when you made changes and added new images. I will make certain changes to make sure that these things are solved. Chanakyathegreat (talk) 11:51, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Vikrant picture must not be in the gallery because its indigenous development and is a new ship than the older Gorshkov. It's a big problem that there are multiple views for various viewers and we have to consider this while adding images into an article.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 05:30, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The Vikramaditya is till not in Indian hands, whereas the IAC is already under construction at Cochin shipyard. The IAC and Gorshkov will be joining the IN in the year 2012. We expect the Vikram to come first but who knows. Regarding the Images, preference must always be given to Indigenous products over imported ones since it shows the technological maturity of the nation.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 05:55, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
My opinion is that the Gorshkov image is not even that of the Indian Navy. It was the image while being in the Russian Navy. So that image did not suit there. If you are so particular about the Gorshkov image, try to get an image of the Gorshkov, i mean Vikramaditya (like a image of its model) by getting permission from the copyright holder. I don't understand why you want to replace it. I don't have a problem for you accusing me for being nationalistic or .... But from a point of visual appeal I would suggest the IAC. The IAC image is much more realistic and appropriate for the article. It was done after much thought. Now you are free to do what you want.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 07:39, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The main point I made regarding the Indigenous equipment is because, it is something that is made in India and very much related to the technological prowess of the nation. How many nations have the capability to build aircraft carriers. The articles must look realistic and the reader must be able to understand the advances and capabilities of the Indian Navy. We must also think from a readers point of view, and make sure that a person reading the article understands the reality as it is. Otherwise i feel that it is spreading only half the truth and the other half is hidden from the reader not giving him the realistic picture. This applies to all the articles.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 07:47, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
"This is a wikipedia article, not a patriotic essay on the technological capabilities of Indians. It cannot sacrifice quality of the article to make a nationalistic point."
What you mean by the above points. Are you trying to say that the IAC is not Indian and adding it in the article is to make something of a patriotic thing. If you thing from that perspective, it may have it as well. But you cannot or anyone cannot say that it cannot be there just because it is associated with the technological capabilities of Indians. What is wrong with the technological capabilities of Indians. Are you feeling ashamed of the IAC and feeling that having IAC will create a situation in which others will accuse you of being patriotic and it is not good to be patriotic. I don't agree with your points. You cannot deny the space for the IAC for the reason that it is build by Indians.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 07:53, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You misunderstood me. It's not my intention to see whether you are patriotic or not, since it makes no difference in Wiki articles, where the only criteria is about correctness of the article. We can have a Gorshkov image as well but not the one posted. The one that will be inducted in the IN will be far different from the one in the image. The missiles will go and there will be a skyjump ramp. Instead of VTOL aircrafts the ship will be operating Mig-29s. So there is a big difference between the two. If a image of the Vikramaditya model is available, it can be put in that place. Regarding the IAC image it is the only image on the net of the ship. Chanakyathegreat (talk) 13:29, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There are two venues by which to request confirmation that two or more accounts are being operated by the same person. One is Suspected Sock Puppets, and this is the most commonly used one, and usually the best place to start. It is not always necessary to have someone verify the IP addresses (more on this later), because sometimes it is so obvious that the accounts have the same user, the admins will just confirm it and block the person (see WP:DUCK). The other venue is Request for CheckUser. This is how you directly request a confirmation of IP addresses, but I would discourage you from using it. These are a little harder to fill out, and are only supposed to be used under relatively narrow circumstances (I only filled one out once, and when it got answered they just told me to fill out a regular report, heh). Also, they take a very long time to get answered, because there are only something like 14 users in all of Wikipedia who have the CheckUser ability -- in contrast, there are something like 1500 admins, so it's a lot easier to find an Admin than a CheckUser :)
In this case, J.d'arc (talk·contribs) has only made one edit in the past months, and two edits in the past two months. I am inclined to ignore it unless the disruption continues. If you do want to file a WP:SSP report, here are the steps you should follow:
Follow the directions at WP:SSP for filling out a new report. If you have WP:TWINKLE installed, you can do this more easily by using the "arv" tab at the top, but only use Twinkle if you are very comfortable with what it is doing -- it is powerful enough to get you into trouble real fast if you aren't careful :D In any case, be sure to provide diffs showing their similarity in communication styles. Admins don't look too kindly on sockpuppet reports that don't include diffs :D
Put {{sock|4d-don}} on J.d'arc's user talk page, and put {{sock|J.d'arc}} on 4d-don's user talk page.
Wait (it often takes some time for these reports to be addressed, especially if the accounts are not being actively disruptive).
I would discourage you from filing a report now, because neither account seems to be active at this time. I would file these instructions away, and then if either of them start up their campaign again, file the report at that time. That's my advice at least, but it's up to you. :)
This was a good move. I think it's best to keep things on content. Also, having just read Jaysweet's wise words above, I tend to agree with him at this point. If one or the other starts getting active then that might be the time to file. Renee (talk) 15:34, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I agree it was best to remove those comments. I confronted the user here, and that's about as aggressive as I am willing to get. After all, maybe it's Don's wife or something. heh... --Jaysweet (talk) 15:45, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't consider it as an objection. But it is a feeling that those images did not fit well in that article since that aircraft images are not that of the Indian Navy. If you want it there let it be there. The images are that of Alize and Sea hawk.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 15:05, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note. I agree with your comments. However reverting, even when the other guy is doing it, is still inappropriate. I left this above notice mostly out of a concern for fairness, since I placed the same notice on the other editor's page and since you both reverted about three times. Since the page is protected there won't be any more reverts for a week. If a consensus on the current version is impossible then the only alternative may be stubbing the article down to a few sentences again. That is not desirable, but it is better than sterile edit warring. Will Bebacktalk21:53, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If it's just one revert per month then reverting it back is the simplest solution. If there's any chance that other editor looks likely to engage in discussion, or even if not, it's worth talking about the edit on the talk page. That at least makes it clear which text is supported by active editors. Will Bebacktalk06:20, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This message was sent as a courtesy reminder to all active members of the Military History WikiProject.
G'day all, please be advised that throughout March 2017 the Military history Wikiproject is running its March Madness drive. This is a backlog drive that is focused on several key areas:
tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
updating the project's currently listed A-class articles to ensure their ongoing compliance with the listed criteria
creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various task force pages or other lists of missing articles.
As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.
The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the military history scope will be considered eligible. More information can be found here for those that are interested, and members can sign up as participants at that page also.
The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 March and runs until 23:59 UTC on 31 March 2017, so please sign up now.

As we approach the end of the year, the Military History project is looking to recognise editors who have made a real difference. Each year we do this by bestowing two awards: the Military Historian of the Year and the Military History Newcomer of the Year. The co-ordinators invite all project members to get involved by nominating any editor they feel merits recognition for their contributions to the project. Nominations for both awards are open between 00:01 on 2 December 2017 and 23:59 on 15 December 2017. After this, a 14-day voting period will follow commencing at 00:01 on 16 December 2017. Nominations and voting will take place on the main project talkpage: here and here. Thank you for your time. "Military history" is one of the most important subjects when speak of sum of all human knowledge. To support contributors interested in the area over various language Wikipedias, we intend to form a user group. It also provides a platform to share the best practices between military historians, and various military related projects on Wikipedias. An initial discussion was has been done between the coordinators and members of WikiProject Military History on English Wikipedia. Now this discussion has been taken to Meta-Wiki. Contributors intrested in the area of military history are requested to share their feedback and give suggestions at Talk:Discussion to incubate a user group for Wikipedia Military Historians.
