Contest department

• The contest department has completed its forty-first month of competition. A total of 107 articles were entered by 10 editors. Sturmvogel 66 came first with an astounding 406 points—easily the highest score ever—from 69 articles, followed by YellowMonkey with 69 points from 10 articles. They receive the WikiChevrons and the Writer's Barnstar respectively. Honorable mentions go to Ed! (52), Parsecboy (35), and AustralianRupert (31). The ed17, Cam, Djmaschek, WikiCopter and The Bushranger also fielded entries. Please submit any articles you are working on for the November contest.

Awards and honours

• The A-Class medal has been awarded to:
  • Ed! for Battle of P'ohang-dong, Battle of Taegu and Hill 303 massacre.

• The A-Class medal with Oak Leaves has been awarded to:
  • Sturmvogel 66 for HMS Courageous (50), Courageous class aircraft carrier and List of battlecruisers of the Royal Navy.
  • The ed17 for ARA Moreno, Rivadavia class battleship and Chilean battleship Almirante Latorre.
  • YellowMonkey for January 1964 South Vietnamese coup, Lam Van Phat and Lindsay Hassett.
