Welcome to the November 2013 edition of the Bugle!
In this issue, you can find all the MilHist articles and lists promoted to Featured or A-Class status last month at our articles page. It's worth noting that all the Featured content in the list had previously undergone MilHist A-Class Review, which, while it never guarantees a smooth ride through the FA process, certainly helps. In other departments, Hawkeye7's book review focuses on US industry during World War II, and lead coordinator AustralianRupert contributes this month's op-ed, describing how his service as a soldier in the Australian Army led to (and continues to inform) his work here.
Don't forget the Bugle is always keen to receive submissions of news items, op-eds, and book or other media reviews. You can leave draft contributions for a future issue at the newsroom, or ping Nick or Ian for feedback on ideas for articles or material in your user space.
Finally, we'd like to take the opportunity to give a friendly reminder to everyone about courtesy and collaboration. MilHist has generally been very good at maintaining a collegial atmosphere, but there's always room for improvement. There are still too many instances out there of editors trying to assert undue control over content, ignoring community consensus or process, or failing to assume good faith of those with contrary views. Let's always try to remember that everyone here is a volunteer and that the vast majority want to write about battles, not take part in them. A bit of empathy never goes astray. Have a great month!
