Welcome to the October 2013 edition of the Bugle!
The annual election to select Military history project coordinators concluded last month. Fifteen candidates stood for election. Nine returning coordinators (Anotherclown, Dank, Hawkeye7, HJ Mitchell, Ian Rose, Nick-D, The ed17 and TomStar81) and five new coordinators (Cdtew, Cliftonian, Ed!, Peacemaker67 and Tomobe03) were elected. AustralianRupert received the highest number of votes cast, and therefore becomes Lead Coordinator. You can find the full results here. Congratulations to all those elected, and thanks to all who took the time to stand and to vote!
Among our regular departments this month, you can find all the MilHist articles, lists and pictures promoted to Featured or A-Class status last month at our articles page, while Nick-D's book review focuses on Austro-Hungarian battleships of World War I. Nick has also contributed this month's op-ed on the Featured and A-Class assessment processes, from the reviewer's perspective -- a follow-up to his earlier piece on the assessment experience from the nominator's point of view.
As always, the Bugle is keen to receive submissions in the form of news, book or other media reviews, and op-eds. You can leave draft contributions for a future issue at the newsroom, or ping the editors for feedback on ideas for articles or material in your user space.
Your editors, Ian Rose (talk) and Nick-D (talk)
