Welcome to the first Bugle for 2020!
December saw many varied articles promoted to featured and A-class standard. The regular article news section provides a summary. A particular highlight is a rare three-person nomination for the Battleships of Japan featured topic. This is yet another outcome of the very successful Operation Majestic Titan project.
The book review section includes an assessment by Hawkeye7 of a disappointing autobiography, as well as the usual round up of military history book reviews published elsewhere.
In more A-class news, Gog the Mild was awarded his first A-Class Medal with Oak Leaves in December, making him one of only 22 editors to have ever received that award. With his workrate, we're sure there will be many more to come. The quarterly reviewing awards have been handed out, and CPA-5 took out first place with an impressive 65 reviews, followed by Peacemaker67 and Gog the Mild with 46 and 44 reviews respectively. Another four editors also received the WikiChevrons for doing 14 or more reviews in the quarter.
This is probably a good time to post a reminder for how readers can contribute to the Bugle. Submissions can be posted directly via the newsroom, or can be drafted in user space. The editors are happy to provide feedback on drafts, and move user space material into the next edition.
