Huey Long in culture
[edit]Hi @HAL333: How goes it? I came across your article Huey Long in culture had a look at it. I was reviewing it as part of NPP. I notice it hasn't got bibliography section. When you click on Perry (2004) it doesn't go anywhere. It is a dead link I'm assuming your planning to add that in at some point, otherwise how will the reader know who Perry 2004 is? Also I notice the article has an earwig repport earwig that says it is 94.4%. Huge sections seemed to be coppied from somewhere else. Would that be from parent article, or is it in public domain for example? It certainly looks as though it is from the parent article. scope_creepTalk 16:32, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. I split it from Huey Long in my push to get it up to FA status. I have since added a works cited section. Thanks for pointing that out. ~ HAL333 01:45, 16 January 2021 (UTC)

The article will change, because - due to the section above yours - we decided to split the recordings part off to a dedicated article. I also found new sources. Please keep watching. - I think Jerome would have liked that more readers were interested in Stockhausen than in him yesterday ;) - he was always so modest, and the music in focus not his person. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:32, 29 January 2021 (UTC)

Save us
[edit]Hal, the Elon Musk talk page takes the cake for the most insanely messy one I've ever seen. I mean what?????. SO many banners, I tried to clean up a little, but since it looks like you edit there, can you remove some of the less pertinent warnings (I wouldn't know which to remove, since I don't go to the page much)? At the moment, the amount of warnings completely defeats the purpose, since there's so many none of them attract any attention, if that makes sense. Save us from this monstrosity...! Aza24 (talk) 06:18, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
- That whole page is a mess to be honest. I'll get at it. ~ HAL333 14:50, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
- Is there a way to align the ToC and the banners next to one another maybe to consolidate space? Though that probably would only work on desktops...
- The Talk page is a mess for sure and partly because (mostly brand new) editors do not seem to appreciate looking at archives or even the entire article itself first before suggesting some update that has been considered previously, often many times! I do not know how to combat it though except with some additional functionality, but one of my ideas in that vein got shot down quickly. It is puzzling. QRep2020 (talk) 15:37, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, there's not much we can do... ~ HAL333 20:44, 17 January 2021 (UTC)

Comments: Hey, I wanted to reach out after the comments I made today at your FL nomination. I feel like I was being a bit nitpicky and annoying at times, and my oppose vote may have been too quick to judgement (especially seeing the work that's happened since I last opposed one of your nominations; you've definitely proven my initial judgement wrong there, and I'm happy to see it). I'd like to see this FLC get promoted; I just want to make sure our work remains focused on full-fledged, stand-alone lists, and I hope you can understand that. Speedy deletion nomination of Walter1
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Walter1 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. casualdejekyll (talk) 01:24, 23 January 2021 (UTC)

You make me proud HAL333 - on Elon Musk
[edit]Hey Hal333, we have been talking on the Elon Musk talk page. Have you realised how fun it is that ALL my suggestions have now been implemented in the Elon Musk article by you? I find that really funny as you was a big opponent of my suggestions from the beginning and strongly disagreed. What changed? Did an admin look at the page and agreed with my points that the article did by NO means uphold the quality for an objective Wiki article?
I mean, something drastically must have happened because with a snap you implemented ALL my feedback in the article. Suddenly gone was all the biased parts in the "Views"-section. So I just wanted to say thanks for implementing all my feedback - please write to me another time when you need to know how one of your articles can get better.

Huey Long
[edit]Hello:
The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Huey Long has been completed.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
In the Historical reputation section, this sentence appeared:"One of the few biographers to praise Long was T. Harry Williams, who classified Long's ideas as modified or neo-populism."
I changed "neo-populism" to "neo-populist" which I think is the correct wording. However, "modified" seems to be missing the name of a political school of thought and doesn't make sense as it stands. Otherwise, I think the article is in good shape.
Best of luck with it moving forward..

Thank you, and I even got a few more supports by now ;) - Today, we have a DYK about Wilhelm Knabe, who stood up for future with the striking school children when he was in his 90s, - a model, - see here. - Further down on the page, there are conversations about the current arb case request - I feel I have to stay away - in a nutshell: "... will not improve kindness, nor any article". - Yesterday, I made sure on a hike that the flowers are actually blooming ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:25, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

Cormac McCarthy
[edit]Hi, I've left some comments at the review page for McCarthy. (Leaving a talk page note since I'm not sure if you're watching that page.) I think it's very close to being promoted. Most of my feedback is copyedits, though there is an image copyright issue that needs to be answered. Thanks for being my first GA review, I've learned a lot about the process. Death of Jeffrey Epstein
[edit]Hello:
The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Death of Jeffrey Epstein has been completed.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
I masked a few sentences cited using likely unreliable sources, but this hasn't made any difference to the sense of the article. I would suggest you combine the Autopsy and Autopsy Report sections into one. The Autopsy section had a citation tag on one statement. I found and added a reliable citation. Then I discovered the same information with a different citation is repeated in the Autopsy Report section. This is describing the lawyers' dissatisfaction. Also, the li nk at the end of the article only provides a title page to Epstein's autopsy not the whole thing (as far as I can tell). Best of luck with the FAC when you get to it..
Regards,
- Thanks - I appreciate it. ~ HAL333 21:44, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

Resetting discussion at Talk:University of Mississippi
[edit]Would you mind collapsing the discussion at Talk:University of Mississippi so we can reset it? It's gotten unnecessarily personal and I apologize for my part in that. I think that if we refocus on a clear question it will be a lot more productive. I'm happy to share a draft with you in advance. ElKevbo (talk) 22:08, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
- I appreciate that gesture and assure you that there are no hard feelings. But I think it would be best if we left the discussion open and uncollapsed. I think we should just wait around and see if other editors pitch in and how the consensus turns out. ~ HAL333 22:12, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

A reviewer has requested that I remove all the "site links", and I don't mind, as long as there's a link on the talk page to the version of the page that has the site links, for the benefit of article writers. Would you rather I leave the site links in or remove them? I'm asking because you reviewed List of plant genera named for people (A–C), and I want to be consistent with this in all four lists in the series. (A reply here is fine, if you prefer.) - Dank (push to talk) 21:04, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. —Locke Cole • t • c 21:58, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
- Locke Cole You have failed to follow the BOLD, revert, discuss cycle. You made a bold edit, I invited you to discuss it, but you repeatedly reverted it. You have also made more than 3 reverts. I am contemplating reporting you for this violation and, considering that, it would be wise for you to undo your most recent edit and gain consensus to change the status quo. ~ HAL333 22:12, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
- You can do whatever you like. I've made one edit and three reverts, so I will be fine. Thank you for your concern. Please be advised that being disruptive and inserting self references into our articles in violation of the SELFREF guideline may be grounds to block you from editing if you continue (even without 3RR). —Locke Cole • t • c 22:37, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Rob Ager
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Rob Ager requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rob Ager. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
Formatting of discussion thread comments
[edit]Regarding this edit and similar ones in that section: as the following is unsolicited advice, please feel free to ignore it, particularly if you are aware of it already. Note the *
, :
, and #
characters introduce different types of lists, and aren't just indent levels. In order to minimize the number of start/end list announcements made by screen reader software used by those with vision problems, Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Accessibility § Lists and Help:Talk pages § Indentation provide guidance on how to format discussion thread comments. The nutshell summary is if you're the first person replying, copy the prefix from the comment to which you replying, and append the character of your choice. If you're not the first person replying, copy the prefix from the last person who replied at the same nesting level. If you could consider helping to make Wikipedia discussions threads more accessible, it would be highly appreciated.
Going into a bit more detail regarding the effect of your edit for screen readers: you responded to a comment that starts with *
with a reply starting with ::
. The comment you were responding to consists of a first-level bulleted list item. Your reply consisted of two levels of unbulleted listed items, nested within each other. As this changed the type of the first-level list, screen readers will announce the closure of one list, and announce the start of two new levels, instead of just announcing the start of one new level if you had used *:
instead. And since the comment added below yours starts with *
, screen readers will announce the closure of two levels of lists and the start of a new list, instead of just announcing the closure of one list. This adds up to four extra announcements. Thanks very much for your time. isaacl (talk) 20:37, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
- I wasn't aware of that at all. Thanks for telling me - will do from now on. Cheers. ~ HAL333 21:24, 7 June 2021 (UTC)

Margot Robbie filmography
[edit]I’m not sure why you feel the need to destroy this page, removing legitimate credits because they don’t meet your definition of “reliable sources”. Accuracy is now a thing of the past on this page. And, it’s pretty brazen for you to accuse me of edit warring, when in actuality i provided a source (which of course you then claimed was unreliable for no other reason than you don’t think it is). The episodes of television have aired. They can be viewed on streaming services right now. I don’t believe that any further source is required when the episodes have already been broadcast. But your pedantic editing has destroyed the accuracy of this page. Rcarter555 (talk) 23:29, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

DYK for Biderman's Chart of Coercion
[edit]On 12 July 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Biderman's Chart of Coercion, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that, although created to understand Chinese psychological torture of American POWs during the Korean War, Biderman's Chart of Coercion was used by American interrogators at Guantanamo Bay? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Biderman's Chart of Coercion. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Biderman's Chart of Coercion), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Your hook reached 11,624 views (968.7 per hour), making it one of the most viewed hooks of July 2021 – nice work! |
Frustration at DT
[edit]Howdy. TBH, there's an editor over at Donald Trump, who's getting on my raw nerve, concerning the intro & that damned link to the Presidency of Donald Trump article. He just reverted my consensus change. GoodDay (talk) 17:02, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, from my point of view, it's pretty clear that the consensus went with A. But since not everyone can see that, a formal closure is necessary. (It's been a month and discussion has petered out, so it is totally appropriate for it to be closed now.) I see the the Closure Request folks seem to be ignoring you, do you know an admin who would close it? If I hadn't already participated, I would close it myself.~ HAL333 17:19, 13 July 2021 (UTC)

Deprecating the net worth parameter
[edit]You stated regarding citations listing net worth for billionaires: "It's already in the body of most billionaire biographies, so no worries there." but you are deleting the citations rather than moving them to main body of the text when the only citation is in the parameter. Why are you doing that? Now we have people belonging to the category "Billionaires" without a citation. see Terry Pegula, Peter Angelos, Yang Hyun-suk, Jerry Yang, Nigella Lawson. Nearly all your edits are removing citations that are not in the body of the text??? Are you even checking? Patapsco913 (talk) 03:31, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Of those you listed, only Yang has an unsourced billionaire category, which I have fixed. And about half the people you listed aren't even billionaires. Also, the citations we are discussing are largely outdated and in sometimes even use unreliable sources. In many of these cases, transporting the dated and unreliable net worth estimates actually harms the article and the reader's experience. Please note that I have "imported" the infobox content into some of the articles, where appropriate. If you deem a net worth estimate necessary for an article, please add it, but I am not obligated to do so. ~ HAL333 04:10, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- so why are you obsessed with removing the info. Let it rest and let people evaluate the article and see if the source is legitimate. What about John Elkann, Hal Steinbrenner, Edward J. DeBartolo Jr., Joss Sackler, Raymond Sackler, Charles Butt (where you moved the citation but with no reference to his net worth). How are you helping the project? Anyhow I commented on the Template talk:Infobox person#Update docs to deprecate net worth param. I thought we were supposed to have time to evaluate the article before you removed the information.Patapsco913 (talk) 04:17, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- if a reliable source states what there net worth is, then it should be moved to the article. If it is outdated, it should state that this was his/her net worth at this date. why not wait a bit so we can make a proposal at wikiproject biographies and see if we can get a team together to go through them one-by-one. You removed them from Amancio Ortega, Yang Huiyan, Takemitsu Takizaki, Stephen A. Schwarzman, Steve Jobs, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas - all billionaires.04:38, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Maybe you should assume good faith. Every single one of those article you linked already have a reliable source attesting to an exact net worth in the billions, that they are a billionaire, or that they own property worth billions. No problem there whatsoever. And, no. We should not transition every single bit of net worth trivia into the body. Who cares what Bobby Joe was worth in June 2013?~ HAL333 04:45, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Please do not straw man me: I did not say every article needs net worth included. George Lucas - where does it state his net worth in the article? The Bloomberg citation says he was worth 9B which you removed. Why not let people who care edit the articles rather than just try to blast through them? We can go through, standardize the citations, and add context if needed. What is the rush?Patapsco913 (talk) 04:57, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Steven Spielberg - you removed the citation but did not update the article with the new net worth. Clearly you don't care.Patapsco913 (talk) 04:59, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

Edit war
[edit]Edit warring
[edit]Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. ~ User:Samurai Kung fu Cowboy|Samurai]]333 Samurai Kung fu Cowboy (talk) 17:25, 21 July 2021 (UTC)

93rd Academy Awards FLC and University of California, Riverside FARC
[edit]Hi there,
Could you proofread 93rd Academy Awards for featured list promotion? I would appreciate the feedback.
Also regarding University of California, Riverside for featured article review, I am having trouble figuring out what counts as a primary source and a secondary source. If there is anything I am good at, it is usually finding reliable sources to back up information. If possible, you can put this up for discussion at the respective FAR page. Furthermore, I've recently been observing how you used sources for your FAC of University of Mississippi as a guide, somewhat. Thanks.

Safeguarding incorrect information in an article despite it being demonstrably false
[edit]This user has used their Wikipedia status to safeguard demonstrably incorrect information in the Elon Musk article. This requires an escalation to other admins in order to resolve the case. Wikipedia editing should always aim to be truthful, and when better source and information is presented these should be applied, using Wikipedia guidelines in an untruthful way to safeguard editing of demonstrably incorrect information shouldn't take place. Hello, HAL333, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Hzh, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Rob Ager, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rob Ager (2nd nomination).
You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Hzh}}

- today: moar music, Beethoven, a different bold red, and my brother was in the orchestra, 10 July. - What do think of the discussion on Mahler's Eighth? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:28, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
- updating songs on Peace Day Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:14, 21 September 2021 (UTC)
- updating further: a woman in red (back to the beginning of the thread), two who died under "in memoriam" and LouisAlain missed - my first editnotice read: "Every editor is a human being" which is quoted from a comment by Geometry guy in a 2012 discussion on WP:AN. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:38, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
Ian Fleming's book collecting activity
[edit]Hi, I wondered whether the information you removed here - which is sourced, though could perhaps be rephrased - would be worth restoring to the article. (It looks to me as though the editor who was trying to add the information had responded to an earlier revert by trying to address the reason for the revert -primary sourcing - so that it wasn't strictly an edit war.) What do you think? Dsp13 (talk) 16:01, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
- Dsp13 Yes, and I was fine when they found a reliable secondary source for the other part. I am not opposed to adding this, if put concisely and supported by a reliable secondary source. If this is really notable, it seems probable that it was covered in at least one of his biographies or some article. ~ HAL333 20:49, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
Huey Long
[edit]Hey, HAL333! I just wanted to congratulate you for the Huey Long article. A long, long while ago (aka three or so years ago), I thought about patchin' the article up and maybe getting it to GA. Quon (Talk) 23:37, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Gen. Quon: Thanks! It was definitely the most consuming thing I've done on Wikipedia, but it was worth it. And your work on it definitely helped with the burden: after all, you're still have the second highest portion of authorship. ~ HAL333 21:00, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

Today: see yourself, read about a hymn praying to not be on earth in vain, about a comics artist whose characters have character (another collaboration of the "perennial gang", broken by one of us banned), and in memory of the last prima donna assoluta, Edita Gruberová. I had to go to two grave sites last week, one who died now, one who died 10 years ago, so standing upright and in black seems appropriate. Alert
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in discussions about infoboxes and to edits adding, deleting, collapsing, or removing verifiable information from infoboxes. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Happy new year, in friendship! - Epiphany seems like a good day to say so, after a Bavarian peasants' mass (sorry, on the train home, no recent pics of that - just keep watching), and two DYK, even with a pic I took. I enjoyed meetings with friends in real life, and wish you many of those. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:00, 6 January 2022 (UTC)

Concerning Mozart’s infobox
[edit]Introduction
As I was scrolling through the history of the infobox war discussion for Mozart’s page I stumbled upon the latest argument for the infobox being on Mozart’s page.
I totally agree with you on the infobox discussion, the pros outweigh the cons and I understand your efforts to try to get Mozart as well as other articles to have an infobox. It's a shame that we as a community have to resort to name calling. Unfortunately the great dispute arises from the old vs new debate with the old who have grown accustomed to not having an infobox due to there not being ones in the early days of Wikipedia. and the new who are used to having infobox in most prominent articles and wanting a neat and cleaner article where you can get quick information like age, year of birth, death etc. Only time will heal the wounds between the Anti Infoboxers and Pro Infoboxers. Maybe one day, the dream of every prominent article having an infobox will be realized. Best wishes BigRed606 (talk) 03:36, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Statues of the National Statuary Hall Collection
[edit]Wondering about Statues of the National Statuary Hall Collection and other related articles. The Statue of Mary McLeod Bethune (U.S. Capitol) replaced Confederate General Edmund Kirby Smith's statue in 2022, according to one article. George Burkley moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, George Burkley, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). March flowers
[edit]my story today |
Thank you for improving articles in March! - Today we remember the 150th birthday of Max Reger, who saw the horrors of a world war right when it began in 1914, while others were still in high patriotic moods -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:57, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
sharing impressions from vacation on Madeira 20-30 March, pics now at 24 Mar from the peaks - the Mozart RfC (with a non-neutral invitation to fight) was closed, and went rather peacefully - what can we learn from it? - I saw today that Brian Boulton added an infobox to Imogen Holst in 2014, edit summary "risk" - should it still be a risk in 2023 to follow his example? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:13, 31 March 2023 (UTC)

And it's today: thank you for the article, introduced: "Of the myriad figures spotted in Dealey Plaza during the assassination of John F. Kennedy —the Babushka Lady, the black dog man, the three tramps, and the umbrella man (we almost had Captain Kirk and Spock as well)—the Badge Man may be the least bizarre. With the 60th anniversary of the JFK assassination coming later this year, this could be the first of a small series of relevant articles."! - There's a discussion in the idea lab, DYK? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:40, 5 May 2023 (UTC)

Hello, question for you.
[edit]In regards to Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Rollback of Vector 2022 you stated that The WMF unilaterally forced the 2022 vector skin upon the community, despite a community wide discussion that found there was no consensus for such a change. Why do you say that there was no consensus, despite the discussion closing as so? Furthermore, why did you start the discussion on the village pump regarding removing Vector 2022 as the default skin at 20:32, 19 January 2023 (UTC), so soon after the skin had been made the default?
Before you answer this question, please read my user page to see why I am asking you this question. You do not have to answer this question at all if you wish. If you do answer this question, could you please state if you are okay with your username being used, possibly publicly? Thank you-- DisposableUser12345 (talk) 23:44, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

Autopatrolled granted
[edit]Hi HAL333, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.
Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.
Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Schwede66 21:30, 24 June 2023 (UTC)

FA, JFK?
[edit]I gotta say, things have gone better for your little project than I would ever have imagined. However, I think you've made a mistake nominating for FA at this point. What you'll get is a dozen people making all kinds of comments in every direction, and you'll drown trying to keep up. What I suggest you do is withdraw the nomination, and (first) wait longer for comment on the article's talk page, from people already interested in the article, then (second) find one or two experienced FA reviewers to give the article a "side" review to see how close to FA it might be. Ceoil might be able to suggest some names (not me -- I'm no fan of the whole FA enchilada myself). Or maybe I'm wrong and the same guardian angel who's apparently been with you so far will get you straight to FA with no quibbling. But I doubt it. EEng 23:35, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, I know I'm jumping the gun a bit, but I think it's pretty much there. However—worst case scenario—if the response is decidedly negative and I'm wrong, I'll withdraw it after a few days or so, but then at least I'll know what the major flaws are and I can address them over the next month or so. That's what happened with my only other "big" FA, Huey Long. ~ HAL333 23:52, 2 July 2023 (UTC)

July songs my story today - You are welcome! - Great music (in June, I'm behind: three great RMF concerts)! - Last Saturday, a friend played for us at her birthday party, on four instruments including baryton, with family (granddaughters!) and colleagues, from Renaissance to Haydn. - My story today is very personal: the DYK appeared on Wikipedia's 15th birthday, and describes a concert I sang. I was requested to translate the bio into German for a memorial concert ... - see background, and we talked about life and death. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:28, 12 July 2023 (UTC)

In my most recent images (click on songs), two wedding cakes are hidden. - Today's story is about the Inkpot Madonna who returned to "her place" 9 years ago, and also has aspects of early learning, see? - 13 August was the birthday of the Bayreuth Festival, created by Richard Wagner and Cosima Wagner. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:18, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
Today is the anniversary of the premiere of Götterdämmerung. Berit Lindholm sang its final scene in concert at the Royal Festival Hall in London, only four years after her stage debut in a Mozart opera in Stockholm. - Smiling now when I read the infobox discussion for Götterdämmerung ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:26, 17 August 2023 (UTC)

- and
- https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Elon_Musk&diff=prev&oldid=1174785280
- These are the only two edits I have made to Elon Musk. Both were minor changes concerning the presentation of references. Neither of them was a revert of any other edit. Neither of them had anything to do with a content dispute. I suspect you have glanced at the edit history and jumped to the conclusion that my edit of 18:26 was a reversion of your edit of 18:17. In fact it had nothing to do with your edit (which as it happens I agree with).

September music
[edit]my story today |
---|
Our festival's last concert was most moving and inspiring, - also the story of Walter Arlen, - today I'm proud that I survived the decision in WP:ARBINFOBOX for 10 years, standing and singing -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:25, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
Today's story is about a great pianist with an unusual career, taking off when he was 50. It's the wedding anniversary of Clara and Robert Schumann, but I was too late with our gift. Just for fun: when do you think did Mrs. and Mr. Schumann got their infoboxes, and by whom? (The answer can be found here, but please think first.) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:51, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
Congratulations to your latest FA! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:12, 19 September 2023 (UTC)

- I don't think I would have guessed either :) ~ HAL333 15:23, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- So what I see is that if a composer is a woman, and also a mother and a pianist, she can have an infobox without dispute (in 2012), and even her husband the same, who also was a father and a music critic. The exception for composers of classical music has never convinced me, nor the community, it seems. Every composer is a human being ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:30, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- Today I remember Raymond Arritt, who still helps me, five years after he died, per what he said in my darkest time on Wikipedia (placed in my edit-notice as a reminder), and by teh rulez. - Latest pics from a weekend in Berlin (one more day to come). --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:45, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- My story today is The Company of Heaven ("company" with a double meaning, but angelic company in the end). - Pictures of the one more day yes, but no others yet, it's a week with concert or opera almost every night! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:26, 29 September 2023 (UTC)

Assassination of John F. Kennedy scheduled for TFA
[edit]This is to let you know that the above article has been scheduled as today's featured article for 22 November 2023. Please check that the article needs no amendments. Feel free to amend the draft blurb, which can be found at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/November 22, 2023, or to make comments on other matters concerning the scheduling of this article at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/November 2023. I suggest that you watchlist Wikipedia:Main Page/Errors from the day before this appears on Main Page. Thanks and congratulations on your work. Gog the Mild (talk) 14:32, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
- While it is indeed really nice to see JFK's assassination being featured on the main page on Nov 22, I'd just like to note that image used in the blurb is also the one which is being featured as POTD on Nov 22. I'm not quite sure if repetition is allowed on the main page. The last time I remember this happening was on Sept 11, 2021, where, if my memory serves me correct, OTD and DYK had the same image; OTD swapped its image to avoid repetition. – Kavyansh.Singh (talk) 13:46, 29 October 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hi HAL333, apologies for this edit, I didn't know who Walloon was, all I knew if that he was a deceased Wikipedian, and so I was confused as to why he was there until SN54129 pointed it out. Sorry for the misunderstanding, hope we can clear this up. 750h+ 12:23, 14 May 2024 (UTC)

My story today is - because of the anniversary of the premiere OTD in 1782 - about Die Entführung aus dem Serail, opera by Mozart, while yesterday's was - because of the TFA - about Les contes d'Hoffmann, opera by Offenbach, - so 3 times Mozart if you click on "music" ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:22, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
Today's story is about a photographer who took iconic pictures, especially View from Williamsburg, Brooklyn, on Manhattan, 9/11, yesterday's was a great mezzo, and on Thursday we watched a sublime ballerina. If that's not enough my talk offers chamber music from two amazing concerts. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:28, 20 July 2024 (UTC)

Today I have three "musicians" on the Main page, one is also the topic of my story, like 22 July but with interview and the music to be played today -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:19, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
On 13 August, Bach's cantata was 300 years old, and the image one. The cantata is an extraordinary piece, using the chorale's text and famous melody more than others in the cycle. It's nice to have not only a recent death, but also this "birthday" on the Main page. And a rainbow in my places. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:37, 13 August 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for improving article quality in September! - Ach, lieben Christen, seid getrost, BWV 114, is one of the pieces in my topic of this year. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:34, 22 September 2024 (UTC)
Thank you today for Ole Miss riot of 1962, introduced: "I've been working on this intermittently for a while, but after meeting Meredith in person, I got motivated and finished this in a whirlwind effort. Now largely forgotten, the riot was a key moment in the civil rights movement and saw President Kennedy unleash 30,000 troops to quell it — the most for a single disturbance in American history." - I have colourful music to offer today. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:57, 30 September 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for improving articles on October! - My story today is a cantata 300 years old, based on a hymn 200 years old when the cantata was composed, based on a psalm some thousand years old, - so said the 2015 DYK hook.
