Navbox

Yeah it is a good idea.. I will make sure to edit the navbox once i finish my work today... As for the other base, I never heard of this family before, but I guess it is George al-Nghayweh --Zaher1988 (talk) 10:11, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Concerning the navbox, I'm planning to the remove the headquarters later from the bases list, and keep it as the group name link, which you have removed, this is why I linked them.However, I included them in the bases lists also, because if the list is empty, the row will not appear at all. Lebanese Army Flag

The official one is the one with red and white background. You see it behind the commander-in-chief in his office, and you see it in the military parade when they say, "the Lebanese army flag arrives to the parade", and then one by one, the high officials, they salute it upon their arrival. The flag with the white background is very common, it is used by the army in addition mostly the civilians, however at the end it is not the official. Specifically, the drawing at the middle is considered to be the Lebanese army logo, you see it almost everywhere, the flag, the brochures, watermarks, camouflaged flag, status, monuments, berets etc... I suggest NOT changing the LAF logo on the Template:Lebanese Military, it fits best this way using the logo not the flag, same for the navbox. --Zaher1988 (talk) 00:07, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

One thing i forgot, I'm planning to create another image for the unofficial flag to have the dimensions and proportions of a flag, and use it instead of the current one, however, keeping this one but this time calling it a logo, based on it doesn't have the proportions of a flag. --Zaher1988 (talk) 00:11, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

The unofficial flag is not only used by civilians, nor only in the army day. As I have mentioned before, even the army use it in its ceremonies, funereal, bases, it is even used in the military museum, so it common but not the official. --Zaher1988 (talk) 12:22, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Changes and plans

Welcome back... Concerning the equipment table, I had a plan to have a separate page, however I was waiting to collect more info because I was planning to break the table down even more, like make it more detailed. What do you suggest?

I have undone some of your modifications, especially concerning the references. Some inline info require its own reference, because it does not have to do with a previous info and because it is require its own reference next to it. In the commando regiment page, these references were put based on a sort of guideline a coordinator discussed with me and pointed out where exactly I should put the references in the training and selection section. In the history section on the main page, this info is important, it requires its own reference next to it.

Usually when I fix citation repetition, I don't mean I am removing citations of the same source referenced in the same paragraph multiple of times, but rather I fix the repetition of writing the whole reference again. --Zaher1988 · ^Talk 08:20, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

• Indeed the reference has to be added after the dot, unless the sentence is followed by another sentence.
• Concerning the repetition, "The regiment was founded in October 1966 under the instructions of the commander-in-chief, General Emile Boustany" << this is a whole different subject than "A result of one of the divisions was the foundation of the counter-sabotage regiment or Al-Moukafaha", thus each require its own reference even if it was the same reference used previously. One of these might even get more than one reference, because no one is completing the other, each is a different part of the whole subject.
• concerning the equipment page, if you suggest so, then let's do it. It will be nice to give the new article a good introduction also.
• I will make sure to reference the equipment, but basically references are only needed for major or controversial equipment.
• Concerning talking to you before editing, well sorry for that, I usually talk/suggest about such things, i just thought that this is a straight forward fix which rule is known.

I suggest keeping the LAF logo on the main page, because this is an informative image whilst the one in the template is a part of the template and does not explain anything. Hey mate, long time no see, listen i've been trying to organize wikiproject lebanon for so long.. but for whom? no one is active, one question was left unanswered for 3 weeks on out talk page. I going so far as "recruiting" users from local forums, the most lively so far is skyscrapercity, we already have a nice thread there, and we can actively engage forumers in our efforts, if u have a little time to spend, we are actualy actively communicating with each other over there, the result was a couple of new articles and so many updates. if u care to join in and share with the new comers meet us here, our thread is further down the page. RE:Iuno Moneta

Ciao Alain the template deals with Landmarks in Rome as of today (2012). The temple of Juno Moneta is not there anymore. About the temple of Jupiter, I was undecided whether to cancel it or not. Then I decided to keep it, because its foundations are still visible in the yard of the Palazzo dei Conservatori (and also becasue yesterday was the Natale di Roma, a bad day to cancel it indeed :-) ). Anyway, I think that it should also be canceled, since what is left is really scarce. This - of course - if the template means always what I wrote. Do you agree with me? Hello there! My name is bassem, I'm Lebanese too. I'm an editor and an admin on Arabic Wikipedia. I was checking out other Lebanese active on other Wikipedia projects and i came across your page. we are currently working on creating a user group called "wiki Levant", a group that combines users from the 4 Levant countries (Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan). We would certainly love to have as many people of Levantine origins, or Levantines living abroad, in our user group. we could benefit from your ideas and thoughts especially that you are exposed to (or part of) another culture, and on the other hand you'll have some connection to your roots and your mother language.

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Alain08. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

User group for Military Historians

Greetings,

"Military history" is one of the most important subjects when speak of sum of all human knowledge. To support contributors interested in the area over various language Wikipedias, we intend to form a user group. It also provides a platform to share the best practices between military historians, and various military related projects on Wikipedias. An initial discussion was has been done between the coordinators and members of WikiProject Military History on English Wikipedia. Now this discussion has been taken to Meta-Wiki. Contributors intrested in the area of military history are requested to share their feedback and give suggestions at Talk:Discussion to incubate a user group for Wikipedia Military Historians.

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
