Welcome to WikiProject Athletics, a project focused on improving the coverage of the sport of athletics on Wikipedia. Relevant topics include track and field, road running, cross country running, race walking, mountain running, and marathon running.

If you wish to become a member of WikiProject Athletics then please add yourself in the members list. The more the merrier!

There are a wide range of topics to work on, ranging from: biography writing for athletes, competition histories and results, summaries of events and distances, stadiums, record lists, and much more...

There are many knowledge gaps left to fill! To start, try expanding existing articles to learn the common Wikipedia article styles and athletics sources, then move on to creating articles of your own. See WP:WikiProject Athletics/Tasks for a list of tasks. You can use base Article templates to give you a head start with tables and lists.
