Peer review on Burger King products

Archips semiferanus and Croesia semipurpurana

Excellent articles! I think Capua semiferana is a synonym, although I'm not completely sure. The best source for finding synoynyms is http://www.ubio.org/, but Capua semiferanus is not listed there, see http://www.ubio.org/browser/details.php?namebankID=345365. You might want to add it to "synonyms" in the taxobox and make a redirect. Anyway: thanks for the hard work! And for that:

Re: FLickr licensing question

Hey Ruhrfisch, the key thing for the OTRS checkers is a valid email account so that they can verify the details of the agreement. One can only contact a Flickrmail account through the Flickr system, so that is out (especially since the Flickrmail does not show email addresses). As for Wikipedia talk pages and such, they are definitely out. However, I am uncertain for cases of talk pages that show the email of the user. The OTRS checkers might contact the user through his email then, but I kind of doubt that... You might want to ask commons:Commons:OTRS/Noticeboard about this. Note that if he states on his Flickr profile that he is User:Cngodles on Wikipedia, we can use the diff of the permission. However, "I give complete permission to reuse my Flickr photos within the Flickr universe." does not sound like granting permission to use his work for any purposes. Hi ruhrfisch! Hope you are not busy.

I am finding it very difficult to get references for the stated unsourced material of 2003 Afro-Asian Games. I am sure I had seen the information in some site, but I cannot remember which. Unfortunately, I had not added references at the immediate moment, as I thought it was unnecessary to do so. Do you really think that referencing all the unsourced material is necessary for a B-class rating? I know my article is far from GA-class, but can it become B-class as of now? I have worked on it for really long, and I would like to know whether it is ready to reach the same level as 2008 Summer Olympics.

Any other comments and suggestions are most welcome.

PA Manual

About the correction to the PA Manual--that's a good question. I looked around, and there are a few email address from the DGS for corrections submitted be other agencies: I will put them in hidden comments to avoid them getting picked up by spammers:. I would suggest sending them an email. Even if it's too late for the 119th, there will be time for the 120th. I found an email address for General DCNR at [], but it's probably some intern who answers that email. If you're interested, here is a telephone directory. Of those people, I would try to get ahold of Christine Novak, the press secretary. I don't really see any email contact for her (or anyone for that matter).

Cox, my trolley source, is chair of the history department at Wilkes University and is praised by reliable third parties such as Macmillan here for his work on urban transportation systems. 1. Have you upgraded the article seriously, taking into view all the criteria necessary? I want the article to be rated B-class only on the basis of merit.

1. Can you change the rating of ALL the WikiProjects? Isn't it better if the consent of all WikiProjects is obtained? (Not that I'm challenging your move - it's just a simple query).

After this of course, comes GA-class. but there is still a lot of time for that. Once I find the article appropriate enough, I'll contact you or some other editor (since you do not assess sports articles).

Your courthouse photo

I've used your beautiful courthouse photo once again in Water Street District, which was fun to do. I used the NRHP nom form you sent me to create much of the article, and I got to try out the more elaborate footnote system I noticed that User:Brianboulton had used for Nansen's Fram expedition. I see that User:Niagara has used the courthouse in Clinton County, Pennsylvania, as well. It's a terrific photo that pleases me every time I see it. Thanks for the gov doc about flood protection. It has a couple of interesting stats about the watersheds and the percentage of LH in the 100-year floodplain that I might use. I added the stream names and locations to the postcard image; good suggestion. However, while doing that, I noticed a problem with the image license. The source link to e-bay is dead; also the uploader's claim that the postcard was postmarked before 1923 can't be verified since the postmark would be on the non-visible side. It appears that the uploader's claim about the postmark was hearsay. Unless I can find this postcard elsewhere, I might have to delete the image. Finetooth (talk) 19:28, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

I uploaded the postcard image to the Commons this morning and added a short note explaining that the source url has been removed from eBay. I also added the LH article to peer review saying that I was planning to take the article to FAC. I'm planning to add a short article about the Memorial Park archaeological site to the encyclopedia, so that red link will disappear. Other than that, I can't think of much else that needs doing. You're right—I want to eventually get the article to FAC, though I'm not in too much of a hurry at this point. I don't really want to use the Repin paintings and would rather keep the image types consistent (black-and-white for everything). The verb began just seems odd to me in In late 2005 the enterprise began as an independent film, which received an award at a film festival;... I thought that "the enterprise began" when they started filming?

Note regarding comment on the lead section via Talk:The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie: No, that's not when they started filming - it even says in the paragraph before that, that principal photography was filmed in mid-2004. I was trying to say that it began as a low budget, family project (or enterprise) and when no one wanted to put up the money to making it a film (which make sense because Polly Draper made her directing debut with this film and was famous to a degree, but not known enough). This is why in late 2005, they entered the indie film for a screening at the Hamptons International Film Festival where it won an award and was then picked up by an executive from Nickelodeon who brought it for the network to make it a show.

Lock Haven again

Thanks. I'm on an unusual DYK streak this month. I nommed another one, Memorial Park Site, this afternoon. LH has been good to me whatever else may come. I've asked User:Yllosubmarine to take a look at Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, too. Dincher had a lot of good suggestions, and with the new photos and other changes, LH may be getting close. On a totally different subject, your advice about AutoStitch is paying off. After several trial runs, I uploaded a Bare Mountain panorama to the Beatty, Nevada, article, and I think it looks good. That led me to crop and retouch the old panorama in the Rhyolite, Nevada, article and re-upload it as a wide image. It looks much better to me than the version I used for the FA last spring. Rouvas

Actually I have a couple more questions for the Rouvas article. Firstly, I'd like to point out the new lead which was recently fixed. Secondly I'd like to ask for your opinion on the issue of the subheadings. The personal and professional life has since been merged for better flow and I changed the headings so that they appear as ie 1.1 Early commercial success (1991–93), with the brackets at the end, as I believe that this looks more professional and puts more emphasis on the events rather than the years, as should be. However currently the four main editors are in a disagreement of whether to place the years at the beginning of the header w colons or at the end as i showed above. We r divided 2-2. The thing that bothers me though is that WP:Albums#Dating advertises putting the years in brackets after the album. So if the albums use this format I think that the rest of the article needs to follow suit in order to keep it as consitent as possible. I realize that on most of the articles this is purely stylistic, ie if he were not a singer and thus did not have to use the format with the albums, then this issue would be up for interpretation, but I think currently the consistency aspect is a big issue, since editors should not be allowed to use "consistency" however they want, it should apply to the whole article. Furthermore I have noticed these improvements being made on FAC articles such as Michael Jackson, where they were also changed in order to comply w the consistency aspect. Indian paths and the Great Island

Does Wallace say whether the Indian paths in question actually crossed the Great Island? User:Brianboulton has raised the question at PR, saying "as islands are by definition surrounded by water, I'm curious to know how paths can lead to (or from) them". This is a sharp observation, and I was thinking of rephrasing to say that the paths passed near the island. However, it occurred to me that the Munsees on the island must have crossed the river frequently and may have offered a canoe-ferry service to visitors and that one or more of the paths might have actually crossed the island lengthwise. I'm thinking of acquiring a copy of Wallace, which might come in handy in other contexts as well as this one, but if you can help with this particular question, that would be much appreciated. Thanks for the offer! I've downloaded all the forms for archaeological sites, since I figure that they're by far going to be the hardest to find with CRGIS. Many other forms I know are available via the AskRegis feature; if you find it confusing, I'll try to help you. I didn't know how to use it until after I emailed the help-me email address shown at the ARCH website.

Since you mention NRHPs in Lycoming County...would you mind looking over Canfield Island Site? It's done except for a single incomplete citation to the Pennsylvania Atlas and Gazetteer; I wrote it while away from home, but I'll be home in less than an hour, and I'll complete the citation then. If we can't find the links to the new pages, we should be able to cite the forms anyway if we have them; they're always available on paper, after all, so we should treat them as offline sources. Finding nominations should be easier for you if you read the ARCH-hosted and the CRGIS-hosted tutorial pages. Go to https://www.dot7.state.pa.us/ce/Project/gis.asp and, after you've logged into the public account, click the yellow "Ask ReGIS" button (or is it orange? I'm somewhat colorblind). When the new window pops up, put in the geographic data you want in the "Where" tab, skip the "When" tab, and type the name of the property in the upper field in the "What Else" tab, having selected "Historic Name" in the scrolling miniature window to the left of the line where you can type. Hitting "Search Now" in the upper right should yield a list of all sites that fit what you wanted to look for, and clicking any line will bring up a new window with a profile. All bridge photos are downloaded — regardless of whether there was already a picture available — except for a few when a bridge had multiple pictures available; I only got one picture per bridge. There were seven bridges for which I couldn't get a photo: Bridge in East Fallowfield Township, Bridge in Rockdale Township, Frankford Avenue Bridge, Holme Avenue Bridge, and Walnut Lane Bridge have no photo online, and Bridge in Plunkett's Creek Township and Bridge in Ridley Park Borough appear not to be in the database. [unindent] I see, makes plenty of sense :-) AFAIK, there aren't any MPS forms at ARCH; there's no real point, since virtually all of them are already available directly from the National Park Service. Are you aware of WP:MPS? This page links to each MPS form and gives a few details about it; filling out the page was hard, since the NPS gives no information about it; we had to begin a download of a form in order to learn anything about it, even what the name of the MPS was. Incidentally, forms from ARCH aren't the first set of documents I've helped to download en masse; Doncram, Lvklock, and I downloaded all the MPS forms a couple of months ago after something Doncram heard made us wonder whether if the whole set would be taken down. Chester County NRHP

With 308 listings, the Chester County list is clearly a split candidate; it's been too big for a long time, but now with Smallbones adding lots of pictures, loading the page is becoming a very very long task. Can you imagine any good way to split it? I've never been to the area, so I'm not aware if there are any good ways to split the county geographically. Nyttend (talk) 00:00, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

I too would like to see the page split, just for ease of editing. However, defining a split (simple enough, though arbitrary), and actually splitting the page are two different things. I wouldn't know how to do the actual split without a ton of work.

There are 20+ townships in the southern part and about 25 in the northern part, but I'd guess the southern part would have at least 40% of the NRHP sites. Yes, I remember bringing this up before, but we never did anything about it...Just one question — would a three-way or four-way split be a bad idea? Is there any good north-south dividing line? Would it be possible to use the Brandywine River as a dividing line? I can't find your railroad line either on Google Maps or on my Pennsylvania Atlas and Gazetteer, so I'm slightly confused as to what you mean. I'm well aware of the difficulty; I split the city of Miami out of National Register of Historic Places listings in Miami-Dade County, Florida just this evening. The railroad (Pennsylvania Main Line, Amtrak) follows W to E Parkesburg, Coatsville, Downingtown (so far matches my division) but then splits townships going to Paoli. 3 or 4 divisions? Maybe if the northern part is too big split the northeast off including West Chester (big), and the Goshens, Valley Forge aka Treddyffin (not so big as you'd think) up to Phoenixville and might have to include Westtown too since it's easy to mix up with West Chester. Maybe 40%, 40%, 20%.

But I've done my first pass on eliminating the South from the Northern list see:User:Smallbones/NorthCC and later I'll get to User:Smallbones/SouthCC

Hm, I seem to have asked more than one question above :-) My atlas shows a stream that I thought to be the only branch of the Brandywine (going generally southeast through the county), and as I couldn't see names for any tributaries (except a few that clearly had different names) I thought that there was only one Brandywine...as I said, I've never been to the area. That's a heck of a good map. (where can I find other PennDOT maps?) Division into north and south seems to check out (numbers of sites and landmarks) (189 sites N, 119 S). North could be subdivided further (call the divisions East and Northwest) probably about 90 sites in each. Culturally it makes sense East (suburban-rural), North ("railroad rural"), and south (rural-rural). East townships could be the Whitelands, the Goshens, West Chester, Willistown, Malvern, Easttown, and Tredyffin. Charlestown, Schuylkil, Phoenixville (from the North), and Westtown and Thornbury (2 sites now in the South) could be included or excluded to get a very even division. Thanks for resolving my confusion; I simply meant that I'd downloaded all the bridge pictures for those counties. I've downloaded all of the state's restricted address forms, but the only other form I have is for the Merrick Art Gallery in Beaver County, and that's only because it was emailed to me: I discovered that the ARCH version was incomplete, notified the ARCH people that it was incomplete, and they emailed me a rescanned version with all pages. Done with Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence counties. Two questions: (1) ARCH has a couple of pictures for the McConnell's Mill Covered Bridge. Are these covered by the PD release, or is it just bridges in that one MPS? I'm not going to upload them, even if they are included, since they're rather grainy and (if you'll permit this statement :-) inferior to my pictures of the bridge. (2) Have you ever encountered pictures that were plainly wrong? This image is given for the David Littell House in Beaver County (one of the four sites in these three counties that I've never visited), but it's plainly not an early nineteenth-century brick farmhouse. Thanks! It just occurs to me — Slippery Rock Township owns the bridge, so perhaps the state didn't take the picture. And thanks for the compliment; that's really not the best example of what I was talking about, since as long as you can point the camera at the other end of the bridge and hold it steadily, you can get a picture like that one :-) I was meaning more along the lines of nature pictures; while (if I could hold the camera as well) I'm sure I could get pictures as good as yours if you gave me your camera, told me where to stand, and where to point it, I wouldn't likely know which scenes were the best in the first place. I've downloaded the complete list of charts for all 66 counties with listings. This is primarily so that I can know the municipality in which it says sites are located: as you may have noticed, I've gradually been changing the "City or Town" column to reflect municipalities, rather than "nearby community" — I figure that the widespread availability of maps plus the coordinates data for these sites means that this isn't original research. I can copy the Chester County list into Excel and produce an alphabetical list; Philadelphia won't be necessary, since all sites in a single municipality are listed alphabetically. I've been doing somewhat differently for documentation — I save each document under the NRIS name, appending a number after the name if there are multiple forms. I also put all the names in a Notepad document (one name per line) and copy/paste the URL for the file (for documentation purposes) on the same line as the name, with separate lines for multiple forms if necessary. However, there is no hurry; I am away for a week between 20 and 27 December, and though I'd like to get the Heywood peer review squared before I go, I won't be taking the article to FAC before I come back. I've never cited a frontispiece, so I'm reduced to poking around in my library for an answer. The Chicago Manual of Style (14th ed.) in explaining list of illustrations says, "A frontispiece, because of its prominent position at the front of the book, is customarily not assigned a page number; its location is simply given as 'frontispiece' ". This makes your wording sound like the answer; I don't think it can be far wrong and should be easy to adjust if the citation experts scowl and grumble when they see it. As you've probably seen, I nominated the article just now. I wrote an intro that I hope will attract reviewers, and I shamelessly dropped names, including yours. Thanks for fixing the Wallace citation. After we discussed the frontispiece, I didn't think to take the final step. My books did not say when the L.H. boom actually closed, so that question is still left without an answer. I doubt that will cause a problem at FAC, but it's one of those pesky things like the caboose and tank at Rhyolite that I think about from time to time. An unpublished source in Beatty tells me that the tank was a water tank rather than a gasoline tank and that the caboose used to sit on a concrete pad at a slightly different location in Rhyolite, but I have only his word for this and nothing like an RS to support it. The LH boom, though, probably had an official closing date that was declared by the boom company, and this should be in print somewhere, probably in the archives of the Express. Just curious, why do we need to include the date when the nomination form was created in the descriptions for the Pennsylvania bridge photos, such as June 22, 1988 for File:Bridge in Lewis Township, Lycoming County.jpg? Have you ever seen any pictures — free or unfree — of the CCC-built buildings at Raccoon Creek State Park? They're one of just two unphotographed sites from the NRHP list in Beaver County, and I'd really like to find a picture if I can. I've tried looking on Flickr for pictures, figuring that I can always ask a photographer to change a license, but I can't even find any all-rights-reserved pictures to ask about. I tried to get to the site when I was in college in northern Beaver County, but a hilly 50-mile round trip by bicycle on a hot April day was beyond what I could do. Bridge photos ad infinitum

If I understood correctly from above, PennDot bridge photos from ARCH can be used as (are) public domain if the magic words are used. Could you check File:Little Bridge in Mortonville.jpg to see if I said the spell correctly? This begs the question of why use that ugly picture - well you should see the ones I took! The huge old Mortonville Bridge that adjoins it is being reconstructed and this little 13 ft. bridge is easily lost in the construction equipment. Hopefully it won't be crushed during the reconstruction.

I'll add it to NRHP in Southern Chester County and to List of bridges on the National Register of Historic Places in Pennsylvania. Is there any plan for the list of PA bridges? It's about 400 entries - so might be broken up - but the collection in one place also makes sense. All the recently downloaded bridge photos might also be inserted - where needed - and then replaced if better ones come along. Of course that would be a huge amount of work. I just created an article on Tchaikovsky and the Belyayev circle, which is a sequel to Tchaikovsky and the Five. You did such a nice job on the composite image for Tchaikovsky and the Five that I was wondering if you could create a similar composite of Tchaikovsky with similar photos of Alexander Glazunov, Anatol Lyadov and Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov, perhaps from the same source as the photos of Tchaikovsky and the Five. Map error

Just found three errors in File:Map of Beaver County Pennsylvania With Municipal and Township Labels.png — Vanport Township (just west of Beaver on the Ohio River) is colored as a borough, not as a township, White Township (just west of Beaver Falls in the northern part of the county) is also colored as a borough, and Ohioville (on the Ohio border) is colored as a township, not as a borough. Remaining Lock Haven issues

Since User:Parrot of Doom's suggestions have not all been crossed out, I'm stuggling to think of some way to add more about the Indians without disrupting the flow of the main text or going into unneccessary detail. I think I may have solved one problem by adding "tribal confederacy" to explain the Six Nations. To solve the "where did the Munsee go" problem, I added a note, citation 8, which is basically a copy of your explanation at FAC of what the Indians generally did (moved west) to avoid endless trouble with the whites. Do you think this is OK, and do you have a source we could add to that note? I'm thinking of adding another note saying that nobody knows when absolute first contact occurred or between whom. I have a source (the Google Books version of Pennsylvania: a History of the Commonwealth) but it would be tidier to ref the note's claims to to the paper version if you have it or, even better, to Richter, if it appears in his book. (Richter is the author of the chapter in Pennsylvania: a History of the Commonwealth that includes the statement ""When native Pennsylvanians first laid eyes on Europeans is unclear.") Finally, Parrot of Doom has suggested using a more elaborate Notes and References model like the one he or she used for Dick Turpin. I can re-do the existing system, but I'm not sure it is actually better than embedding the notes. Do you have an opinion one way or the other? Finetooth (talk) 19:04, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

When you get a chance, please check the edit history for Akron, Ohio as another edit war has begun as one user continues to add poorly-written and most times unsourced content to the article. Of particular note is the "Spoken Dialects" section (also known as Dialects and Accent in previous edits) that seems largely unneeded since Akron doesn't really have a significant accent or dialect. Changed my mind three hours later after discussing the log raft and other matters with respected kin, who noted that while grade-schoolers in the U.S. all know perfectly well what a log raft looks like, this knowledge is likely not universal. Hence the image adds info that enhances a reader's understanding in a way that can't be duplicated by words alone. I've posted this line of reasoning to the FAC review. Peter Heywood map

I have moved this to the article. Can I suggest the following final tweaks:-

• "Pacific Ocean" label could be enlarged, and placed north of the islands in the uncluttered blue space.
• Can the dots representing locations, e.g. Pitcairn, Tahiti etc be made a little larger?
• The red line enters the map at the left in too low a position; can it enter at about the 40° mark?
• The "Tongatabu" label might confuse, as this isn't mentioned in the text. Perhaps it would be better to remove this label?

Otherwise I think the map is excellent in every respect – though I expect someone will want to svg it – and can only thank you once again for your help with map problems. At the moment I am hoping to take this to FAC tomorrow (30th) or Thursday (31st), so if you have any prose comments, could you let me know before I close the peer review?
