[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Charly Bliss, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page WGBH. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Congratulations on the Auckland Museum residency
[edit]Great to see that the Museum got such an experienced Wikipedia editor! Would you be interested in joining the Aotearoa Online Meetup on Jan 31 to say hi and introduce the editing community to the project? There will also be a WikiCon in Auckland in about July if you wanted to give a presentation on how the residency went. Anyway, all the best with the project, and if you want any assistance or to organise an online event just get in touch with some of the regular Meetup crew. —Giantflightlessbirds (talk) 03:08, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you so much! I'll likely be able to attend (will update the page with my attendance when I know for sure). --Prosperosity (talk) 04:13, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Auckland Residency and resources that may be of assistance
[edit]Congratulations on the appointment! I hope to see you at one of the upcoming Aotearoa New Zealand Wikipedian online meetups. In the meantime while reading the GLAMWiki monthly report I've just come across these recently created resources that may assist you in your role. It's some documentation of workflows for the ingestion of bibliographic data into Wikidata. I hope this is of use and good luck! - Ambrosia10 (talk) 18:35, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
- That looks like a great tool, thank you! --Prosperosity (talk) 21:24, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
Arthur Pycroft
[edit]Hi there, here's something where you may be able to help. I've written a bio for Arthur Pycroft (1875–1971) and in 1935–36, he was president of the Auckland Institute at Auckland Museum. Therefore, Auckland Museum would hold contemporary photos that by now are out of copyright and could be used in the article. Those photos aren't online, though. There's a book chapter of Contributions to the History of Australasian Ornithology online and figure 20 in chapter 2 has a photo of him sourced as Auckland Museum, which shows Pycroft in middle age (it says "taken soon after WWII but I'd say he looks more like 50 in that photo, which would make this a photo from the 1920s). Could you possibly do some digging and upload anything that ought to be freely licensed to Commons? Schwede66 19:32, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- I'll see if there's anything the museum owns or is out of copyright, and let you know! --Prosperosity (talk) 00:49, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
- There's a great photo from later in his life in the collection that I'm checking for copyright status, but there's this group photo from the 60th anniversary which has no copyright restrictions. --Prosperosity (talk) 23:13, 27 January 2021 (UTC)
- Awesome. Thanks so much. That photo is a real puzzle, of course. We know the names (sometimes just with initials) but they are in random order! Who's who? Ah well, I'll do some detective work. Ah well, here's piece number 1: the anniversary meeting was held on 7 November 1927. Schwede66 02:31, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- No worries!
- Number 3 on the top row should be A.G. Lunn - is the name order mirrored (so the name is behind each person when you flip the physical photo over)? --Prosperosity (talk) 03:20, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- Jump onto Commons; I've added "notes" to the image for those who I have identified (or where I think I've identified them). Schwede66 04:00, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

Ok, I've figured out who the 10 people in the photo were and they are now all in Wikidata. Now the tricky bit – can we match more of the faces to the names? Schwede66 04:32, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- Well, that was simpler than I thought. I had nine matches and that left only one chap (Henry Bruce Morton). BTW, you were right with Lunn. Schwede66 10:31, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- That's awesome! Most of these people don't seem to have many pictures up online, so this'll probably be great for future articles. --Prosperosity (talk) 23:10, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- I thought so! It was the eyebrows that were a give away for me. --Prosperosity (talk) 23:13, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- I've now nominated this at DYK (as nominations have to be done within seven days of starting the article) and it's already had its initial review. To that end, it would be good to get the better-quality picture soon. How's the copyright research going? Schwede66 01:07, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- The potential photo we found seemed like its copyright had expired, but after some research we found out the photographer was active in the 1970s (i.e. definitely not 50 years since their death and out of NZ copyright). There's a photo on Google with a parrot which looks great, but I'd have to do some in-depth research on that. --Prosperosity (talk) 05:44, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- Much appreciated. Schwede66 08:48, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- Just noting , in case you weren't already aware of it, that any NZ photo taken pre-1945 (conservatively, pre-1 Jan 1944) is now in the public domain, regardless of when the photographer died. The template in Commons in that case wold be {{PD-two|PD-New Zealand|PD-US-1996}}. —Giantflightlessbirds (talk) 08:59, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, this photo was likely from the 1960s! --Prosperosity (talk) 09:46, 30 January 2021 (UTC)

Women in Red
[edit]Hi there, Prosperosity, and welcome to Women in Red. I see you've already written a few biographies of NZ women and Japanese singers and am glad to see you now intend to create many more. In connection with organizing an editathon, you might find Wikipedia:How to run an edit-a-thon useful. The essays Primer for creating women's biographies and Ten Simple Rules for Women in Red might also help. I see there is also a page on Wikipedia:Meetup/Auckland. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 15:02, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Ipigott, thank you! I'm planning to make the event in person and online - would it be possible to have this event listed at the main Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red list of upcoming events as well? We'll be focusing on New Zealand women. --Prosperosity (talk) 07:03, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- You are free to make your own announcement on our main WiR page via Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Announcements. Alternatively, if you give me the date(s), focus and any additional details such as a link to your editathon page, I'll add an announcement myself.--Ipigott (talk) 08:19, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- I see you are involved in Wikipedia:Meetup/Auckland 10 on 6 March. Is this the event you are referring to? If so, it might be useful to add Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Missing articles by dictionary/DNZB. These should be easy to cover.--Ipigott (talk) 09:58, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you! I'll add these names to our list and publish them on our event. That's the one - we'll be holding the event in person and online. --Prosperosity (talk) 00:43, 19 February 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Is this still going ahead virtually? I hear there are serious restrictions in Auckland over the next few days.--Ipigott (talk) 20:11, 27 February 2021 (UTC)

- Ipigott, we've decided to postpone until we're out of restrictions. Hopefully not too far away! --Prosperosity (talk) 02:26, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

Auckland edit-a-thon on performing arts 14 Aug
[edit]Kia ora Prosperosity, I am running an edit-a-thon in Auckland on performing arts Sat 14 Aug. I need to make a project page for it but am not sure how to title it. Do I need to call it Auckland Meeting 12 or can I call it 'Auckland Women in Performing Arts Edit-a-thon' - or any suggestions. I am asking you as you organised the GLAM edit-a-thon / event. For references you can see the Dunedin and Wellington event pages which are linked in the project page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Pakoire/Performing_Arts_Aotearoa_-_Wiki_Project.
Many thanks, Pakoire (talk) 22:11, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Pakoire I'd recommend going with [[Wikipedia:Meetup/Auckland 12|Auckland 12, although it's up to you! As long as it's linked in the . There were a choice of event titles with ours (we could have gone with the Auckland title, or the Women in Red title), but decided the location title was better suited since it was invisioned as an in-person event. As long as it's in the template, I don't think there'll be a big issue. --Prosperosity (talk) 22:34, 30 June 2021 (UTC)

DYK for Panmure Bridge
[edit]On 21 January 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Panmure Bridge, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the construction of Auckland's Panmure Bridge in 1865 involved underwater repairs using Heinke diving suits? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Panmure Bridge. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Panmure Bridge), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Prosperosity (talk) 23:13, 22 January 2022 (UTC)

Waitakere City to West Auckland, New Zealand
[edit]Kia ora, just wanted to follow up with you as a few of your changes have come up in my watchlist recently because I have a lot of football related articles in it. I see you have been changing Waitakere City to West Auckland and while in a lot of cases that is fine. I do question them being changed when it relates to when the time of that article might be relevant. Waitakere City was correct from 1989 to 2010 so changes like in the article 2013 Chatham Cup the competition was played when it was called Waitakere City. In the OFC Champions League with the link in that one being about a game played during the 2007–08 season, then it was also called Waitakere City. They still link to a valid article for people to read, and it was the correct link for that time. While other changes like in Northern Region Football are good. — NZFC(talk)(cont) 23:40, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- Sure thing. I've stopped, and have been trying to leave references to Waitakere City for events from 1989 to 2010, but occasionally I've been making a few mistakes when a competition was held post-2010, but the qualifying matches were held earlier (i.e. when they were played in Waitakere City). --Prosperosity (talk) 23:45, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- No problem and completely understand sometimes it isn't clear either. Its not the end of the world having either/or linked but just nice if relevant to have Waitakere City if during that period. — NZFC(talk)(cont) 00:17, 29 July 2022 (UTC)

- @-Verso-: Thank you! I was a big fan of hers back in the Viva AI / Independent era, and I'm really happy to see that her more recent albums/songs are getting good pages.
- Did you mind if I changed up the discog format a little? I think that some of the things that were appropriate for the 2010s don't make as much sense now (like the sales data and the awkward Taiwanese chart, which didn't age well). --Prosperosity (talk) 21:54, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, you can make any changes you want! I would so much appreciate any new contributions.
- I am so glad you are noticing her recent album/songs pages. She has been getting a bit more coverage on English news sites and magazines such as Billboard recently which has been helpful in creating some of the articles such as "Summer Magic" and Kansha!!!!! - Thank You for 20 Years New and Best. Creating the article for her most recent single "Aldebaran" was a bit tough for me but it was so worth it in the end. Someone even translated it so now it is on the Japanese Wikipedia as well, which was pretty cool. I hope they do that for more of her articles there eventually since I noticed most of them do not exist on there or are stubs. -Verso- (talk) 23:57, 9 August 2022 (UTC)

Categories for 'watersheds'
[edit]Kia ora. I see you created several categories for 'watersheds' as subcats of Category:Drainage basins of New Zealand. Were you aware that 'watershed' means a drainage basin only in North America, and that in NZ and the rest of the world it means a drainage divide? There are several terms that would be much more appropriate for NZ – 'catchment', 'drainage basin', 'river basins' or just 'basin'. A variety of these terms are used for subcats at Category:Drainage basins of the United Kingdom. Note also that most of these terms do not need to be plural when referring to the catchment or basin of a single harbour or gulf, e.g. Category:Poole Harbour catchment. 'River basins' would be an exception that needs to be plural (unless referring to a single river basin, of course).
I would find any of these other terms acceptable. If picking a preference, I would go with 'catchment', which seems common in NZ, and is also used most frequently in the aforementioned UK category. Thus we could have Category:Hauraki Gulf catchment, for example. Cheers. Nurg (talk) 02:12, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
- I don't have any strong ties to watershed, it's just the word I was most familiar with. I'd be happy to support a move. --Prosperosity (talk) 21:47, 3 September 2022 (UTC)

- I was right that the Wikidata entry was creating the reference as "Reidy, Jade" rather than as "Reidy". I have corrected the article so the reference links work. If you now change the Wikidata entry, you may need to revert my last edit at Mount Roskill.-gadfium 18:08, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Gadfium:, Aaah, that's what was happening, I couldn't quite work it out. Thank you! --Prosperosity (talk) 20:12, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
Your GA nomination of West Auckland, New Zealand
[edit]The article West Auckland, New Zealand you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:West Auckland, New Zealand for comments about the article, and Talk:West Auckland, New Zealand/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. DYK for Chickaboom!
[edit]On 11 March 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Chickaboom!, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Chickaboom!, by country musician Tami Neilson, was nominated for both Canadian and New Zealand music awards? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Chickaboom!. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Chickaboom!), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

April 2023
[edit]Hello, Prosperosity. I noticed that your recent edit to St George's Street railway station added a link to an image on an external website or on your computer, or to a file name that does not exist on Wikipedia's server. For technical and policy reasons it is not possible to use images from external sources on Wikipedia. Most images you find on the internet are copyrighted and cannot be used on Wikipedia, or their use is subject to certain restrictions. If the image meets Wikipedia's image use policy, consider uploading it to Wikipedia yourself or request that someone else upload it. See the image tutorial to learn about wiki syntax used for images. Thank you. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 04:04, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Sumanuil: Kia ora Sumanuil, this is a technical issue. I've replaced the local en.wikipedia image with a freely available one on Wiki Commons, but I'd accidentally given both files the same name. I'm in the process of moving the old image. --Prosperosity (talk) 04:06, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
Thanks. I've just gotten rather paranoid in my old age. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 04:13, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
