Summer Magic (song) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Summer Magic (song), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Speedy deletion nomination of Beautiful Life (Ai song)
[edit]Hello, -Verso-,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username MPGuy2824, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged Beautiful Life (Ai song) for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. You may find our guide for writing quality articles to be extremely informative. Also, you may want to consider working on future articles in draft space first, where they cannot be deleted for lacking content.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|MPGuy2824}}

@MPGuy2824: Hello, thank you for the comment! The article was for a single to be made and I forgot to add a redirect to the targeted album it is to go to. That is 100% my fault and I apologize. If the article is deleted, that is okay. I have just been creating redirect pages while I prepare to make some pages of Ai (singer) songs/singles. Seems I've accidentally done it a few times and have fixed the error. -Verso- (talk) 08:50, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- No problem, i've removed the speedy delete tag. If there are any more like this, then you can remove the tag yourself, after fixing the issue. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 08:52, 29 September 2021 (UTC)

Ai articles and personnel sections
[edit]Hi. Regarding Dream (Ai album), per MOS:ALBUM we don't list anybody who did not produce, play on or design the artwork for an album. This includes sales teams, management, A&R personnel and legal teams for an artist. Also, MOS:ALBUM tells us we should not use div col for lists (this includes separate groups) of less than 20 names. Regarding In the Middle (Ai song) and any other music articles you may happen to create articles for, please do not add genres without sources, nor include categories (even if they seem uncontroversial to you) like "songs about crying" when there is nothing in the prose of the article to support this claim. Thanks. Ss112
Thank you for your corrections for the last few months. I have been following the layout of the older Ai related music articles and have failed to notice the style advice. I will follow them from now on. Most of the other articles made are directly from the JPN version so I apologize for any oversights. -Verso- (talk) 04:27, 2 March 2022 (UTC)

Ado's singles
[edit]Hello. I'm the editor who added Ado's songs to the singles section when they charted. You said in this edit summary, based on apparently nothing that any other editor had directly said, that you don't think they are singles just because they had music videos made for them. This is not the reason I added them to the singles section, and I wasn't even aware (and frankly don't care) that music videos were made for the songs. They looked like they were being issued as commercial singles each week in the lead-up to the album's release to me. I don't particularly care enough to disagree with your classification of what is a single here and what isn't, but it might be best to not make assumptions about why things were where they were, because nobody said having music videos made for them made them singles. Thanks. Ss112 10:51, 15 November 2022 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for the clarification, and I really do appreciate the feedback and advice. “New Genesis”, “I’m Invincible” and “Backlight” were all released prior to the albums release with “Fleeting Lullaby” being released days before the album as a promotional single. I do know all of the songs entered the Japan Hot 100 the next week after the albums release. If I could ask on your perspective if “Where the Wind Blows”, “Tot Musica” and “The World’s Continuation” are singles or not? I did just check the Japanese Wikipedia version of the soundtrack album, and they do list those songs as singles, but the date of release are the same day the equivalent MV was released.
I obviously didn’t bring any sources to the table really to make that big of a change, and for that I do apologize. But I do really want to see another’s perspective, and see if things can be made right. :) -Verso- (talk) 20:19, 15 November 2022 (UTC)

Deletion nomiation of Naked (Chanmina album)
[edit]The article Naked (Chanmina album) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This album fails to meet individual notability requirements under WP:A9 for individual musical recordings
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Epsilon.Prota (talk) 18:55, 26 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hi there. Although there is very little English coverage of this album, a lot of Japanese music news outlets have covered this album, including Billboard Japan, Rolling Stone Japan, Barks and Natalie Music, all of which are reputable sources within Japan. Is the album of no notability due to its lack of English media coverage, or not enough Japanese sources? Your explanation and help in this is appreciated. -Verso- (talk) 19:13, 26 April 2023 (UTC)

Quick note on Ado (singer)
[edit]Thanks for your edits to Ado (singer).
Isn't Template:R with possibilities a valid reason to link to a redirect that links back to an article? In other words, it allows for the creation of the article at some time in the future, without having to manually go back to update the link. Also I am pretty sure that new song might be notable, see this one showing the Billboard ranking - it got to #1 at [1]. Awesome Aasim 15:55, 8 November 2023 (UTC)
- I get your point of view, and while I slightly disagree seeing as this single was released back in September (and originally went to number one near the end of September and has gone back and forth in the top ten since with no article made as of this comment), I will go ahead and leave this hyperlink as is. While I have created majority of the Ado albums articles, I do hope someone will create an article for “Show”. -Verso- (talk) 00:44, 11 November 2023 (UTC)

About Ado's Utattemita Album
[edit]Hello, I noticed you reverted my change to the page on Ado's Utattemita Album a month ago about how it should be called a cover album and not a compilation album, and I thought I should ask your reasoning why. Every Japanese source I can find refers to it as a cover album, and just because it is a main studio album does not mean that it's not a cover album. Also, the definition of a "compilation album" implies a collection of previously released songs, but many of the songs on the album were recorded specifically for it, and they are all covers. Is "cover album" not the more obvious way to refer to it? Ikuyred (talk) 14:59, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hi there! Ado's Utattemita Album is a cover album, which is stated in the article, however it is not referred to as a studio album per se, at least according to Japanese sources which just call it a “cover album”. Most of the cover recordings were released prior to the album exclusively on Ado’s YouTube channel over the last few years such as her cover of “Crime and Punishment” and “God-ish”. On the Japanese Wikipedia, the article infobox uses “cover album” which is not an option on the English Wikipedia. If you are able to find sources that state the release is a studio album or something of the sorts, please feel free to let me know so we could further discuss this. -Verso- (talk) 17:56, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- According to the Japanese Wikipedia page for "Studio album", the term "studio album" in its broadest sense refers to any album recorded in a studio, but is often used in contrast to either a live album or a compilation album. https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%82%B9%E3%82%BF%E3%82%B8%E3%82%AA%E3%83%BB%E3%82%A2%E3%83%AB%E3%83%90%E3%83%A0
- However, Japanese Wikipedia as well as Japanese musical journalism in general does not opt to introduce albums with the term "studio album", and simply says "album" a lot of the time. If we look at the pages for Kyogen, the ONE PIECE FILM RED soundtrack, Ado's Utattemita Album, and Zanmu in their original Japanese, they say: "an album which is Ado's first work", "an album by Ado", "a cover album by Ado", and "an album which is Ado's second work" in that order. The soundtrack album is simply generically referred to as an album and not included in the numbering of her "main" albums, while the cover album is specifically called a cover album and also does not contribute to the numbering of her main albums. Basically, the purpose of the term "studio album" (to show that an album is neither a live album nor a compilation album and thus falls under the "main listing" of somebody's albums) is circumvented by simply saying "albums" and then specifying further when needed.
- At least half of Ado's Utattemita Album was recorded specifically for the album and they are not pre-existing videos on her channel; also, Zanmu actually contains less pre-released songs than the Utattemita Album (14 of 16 songs were released before the album was released, as opposed to 4 out of 10 from the cover album). Also, two of the singles (unravel and Buriki no Dance) were released after the album was announced, and those covers were planned to specifically go in that album, so it's only God-ish and Crime and Punishment that were old covers included. It's hardly a compilation album, and there isn't a reason to not call it a cover album on its page when any English cover album is classified as a cover album as well.
- I think the best method of classification in English would be:
- Studio albums: Kyogen, Zanmu ("main albums" that are called her first and second work)
- Soundtrack albums: ONE PIECE FILM RED (not a "main album")
- Cover albums: Ado's Utattemita Album (could technically be referred to as a studio album by definition, but Japanese sources do not consider it to be one of her "main albums", so it would be beneficial to list it under a separate category) Ikuyred (talk) 09:18, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- less non-pre-released songs
- and just because it isn't a main studio album does not mean that it's not a cover album.
- (Accidentally said the opposite of what I wanted to at parts oops) Ikuyred (talk) 09:22, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- The album appears to be a compilation of cover recordings. I think it is best to include others in this debate and see where majority fall in this case and go from there. Cover albums in certain cases can be classified as a compilation album. As for the singles from Zanmu, the release was specifically stated as the “second original album” per her distributor Universal Music LLC. The distributor describes Ado’s Uttatemita Album as just her “first uttatemita album” per the releases special website. -Verso- (talk) 18:42, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
