Context
[edit]Please refrain from reverting the items I deleted from WP:PAR. For context, see User_talk:Vaporwaveboyfriend#Overburdening WP:WikiProject Plants/Article_requests Abductive (reasoning) 04:39, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
- Ok, just next time try to explain yourself better. The single word "unfortunate" doesn't tell people much. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 05:53, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
List of NASCAR tracks
[edit]Hello! I recently saw you reverted my edit (don't worry, I've read your rules) and i forgot to add an edit summary, but the reason I removed that file (I guess we can wait until the updated ROVAL is made) is because that one is outdated and the charlotte roval recently got a redesign. Should we wait until an official file of the updated road course is made? 45BearsFan (talk) 03:53, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, wait. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 04:28, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
UM coat of arms
[edit]Do you know at the University of Malaya coat of arms is up for deletion at Commons because there are no permission. See commons:File:Universiti Malaya Coat of Arms.svg for more info. Thank you in advance. 42.190.107.181 (talk) 03:01, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
- And the previous version had already been deleted. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 14:12, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
If you check the page history, you find out that a fairly new user made the page move about a month ago. Without an explanation. And indeed it cant be explained. It is so wrong that even a board member of Estonian Basketball Association and head coach of Keila Basket's women team (Liis Sild) had to make Wikipedia user and try to fix it (well, they got blocked...), indeed I agree with her and think we should continue where it all went wrong (after July edits). Btw I gave a source and wrote in talk. Why is nobody else (me) allowed to be bold? Trying to fix this mess Pelmeen10 (talk) 00:46, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
That's called a conflict of interest. It is not a good thing. And next time, just explain it to start with. No one ever said you're "not allowed to be bold". - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 01:19, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
Missing Files
[edit]Regarding your recent edit to an article that I created: whenever I create an article about something that I have an image ready for, I include the filename that I'm going to use when I publish the new article and then, immediately after the article is published, I upload the image with that filename (I already have the image ready to upload in a different tab at the time time). As such, the image displays in the earliest version of the article. By the time you removed the filename from the article, I had already uploaded the image and, as such, it was already displaying in the main infobox. In the future, please don't remove it (although, I must say, I am impressed that you caught it so quickly, as I uploaded the image mere seconds after the article was published).--LuminousDreamscape (talk) 04:24, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- Maybe next time, upload the file before you publish the article. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 04:55, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- I can't because, when you upload a non-free file, it wants to know what article you're going to use the file for - and it has to be an article that already exists.--LuminousDreamscape (talk) 04:59, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- Ok, then maybe say something in the edit summary. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 05:02, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- Alright, seems reasonable. Thanks.--LuminousDreamscape (talk) 05:27, 11 August 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Sumanuil. Thanks for noticing. I hope that I am not censoring. I do think that there is a danger that in some paragraphs I stray between opinion and fact. Am erring on the side of caution. I make these changes in good faith Derek J Moore (talk) 06:48, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- I have experienced the effects of whistle blowing. I wish to both warn people about the consequences of disclosures, but neither do I want to paint higher education into a dark corner, as there are many good people doing good work there. Derek J Moore (talk) 08:58, 16 August 2024 (UTC)

How in the heck did you find an advertisement that slipped by for that long? Good work doing that indeed. Seraphimblade Talk to me 19:00, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
It popped up in Category:Pages using infoboxes with URL in image parameter. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 19:01, 24 August 2024 (UTC)

Why did you object to my commnent?
[edit]You posted the following objection to something I posted on the talk-page of of the Hominidae article. You said
- QUOTE:
- However, as a general rule, while user talk pages permit a small degree of generalisation, other talk pages such as Talk:Hominidae are strictly for discussing improvements to their associated main pages, and many of them have special instructions on the top. They are not a general discussion forum about the article's topic or any other topic.
- UNQUOTE:
But what I posted (which you seem to have deleted) was exactly a discussion of an improvement to the article. The article contains the sentence QUOTE: However, by the 1990s humans, apes, and their ancestors were considered to be "hominids". UNQUOTE That sentence cannot be true. It says that the first vertebrate is a hominid. The first vertebrate is an ancestor of humans and apes. Therefore, under the definition contained in that sentence, the first vertebrate that ever evolved is a hominid. There's no way any thinking person can have believed that in the 1990s or any other decade. I proposed various ways to re-word the sentence that MIGHT be in line with what the author intended. I'm sorry if that confused you.108.234.62.240 (talk) 15:35, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Christopher Lawrence Simpson
- Because it seemed like semantic quibbling, as I said already. And no one has ever meant it that way anyway. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 23:13, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
List of Texas Universities and Colleges
[edit]Allopathic medicine as prescribed in the American sense is such, from the Allopathic Wikipedia page.
"In the United States, the term is used in the modern era to differentiate between two types of US medical schools (both of which teach aspects of science-based medicine and neither of which teach homeopathy): Allopathic (granting the MD degree) and Osteopathic (granting the DO degree).[18][19]"
This list is for Texan Universities, hence the American colloquial language continuing what an applicant would expect to see which is "Allopathic" for Medical Doctor ("MD") programs.
Please help me understand the need to change this descriptor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TAMUH (talk • contribs) 01:13, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- It's a derogatory term used by con artists and quacks to describe actual medicine. A neutral term will do. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 01:16, 2 September 2024 (UTC)

Khmer people
[edit]Hi! I’m pretty sure this wasn’t intentional by you. The Khmer people page was restored to its non-vandalized form by me. You reverted it back to its vandalized form, (under User:Kromla’s edits whom vandalized the page). Daniel, who put the semi-protection on this page, had also agreed with me that Kromla was vandalizing after I sent a request for administrator intervention on behalf of Kromla’s vandalism. I did put on his talk page to communicate with you about the vandalism so there’s no misunderstanding. As far as I believe, the latest non-vandalized form of the Khmer people page (other than my restoration) was edited under User:Admandu who immediately proceeded Kromla’s (the vandalizer) edits to the page. Please restore the page to its non-vandalized form. Thank you! Mojomaaa123543 (talk) 23:24, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Mojomaaa123543: Well, that's not what I said. I said it
has been protected due to recent vandalism, not because of the picture
. The vandalism that prompted the page protection was actually from a different user who is now blocked and those edits have been revision deleted so they are not visible to most users. Regardless, I am concerned about recent removals of references and additions of unsourced text, but I haven't had time to look into it so I'm not really involved beyond my actions as an administrator. Regards. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 01:15, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
- Ok then. If you have to, could you continue this discussion on the article talk, please? - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 01:17, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
Remove notability tag from Deepak Singhal (entrepreneur)
[edit]Hi, Thanks for editing on Deepak Singhal's page. In India, what I had attatched rhe citation lunks are well reputed media agencies and they're consodered as Reliable Source. Kindly remove the notability banner. DueMue (talk) 05:16, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
- Well, Medium isn't, one's an interview (we aren't supposed to care what an article subject says about themselves) and the HBR one doesn't appear to even mention him. Please add some more reliable sources first. And it's not "his page", it's an encyclopedia article about him. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 05:36, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
- Totally agree that its an encyclopaedia page and we should follow the same guidelines. May you please let me know what do you mean by HBR? DueMue (talk) 21:46, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
