Welcome to the South Asian military history task force, which covers the military history of South Asia. If you have any questions about articles or are generally seeking advice, you're encouraged to ask at the main military history talk page, or you can directly approach one of the task force participants below.

The coordinators of the Military history WikiProject can be contacted here.

Scope

[edit]

This task force covers the military history of South Asia. This includes modern-day India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and most of the islands of the Indian Ocean (excluding Madagascar, Seychelles, and Mauritius, which fall under the African military history task force). The task force also covers earlier military affairs in the same location, such as Asoka's campaigns, the Maratha campaigns, and the Mughal and Sikh campaigns. The specific military history of India is covered by the Indian military history task force.

Any article related to this task force should be marked by adding South-Asian-task-force=yes or South-Asian=y to the {{WPMILHIST}} project banner at the top of its talk page (see the project banner instructions for more details on the exact syntax). This will automatically place it into Category:South Asian military history task force articles.
