Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Hi Tigerdude9, If you wanted to combine the Aircraft section with the Crew section that would be okay. - Samf4u (talk) 20:05, 30 April 2018 (UTC)
- In that case, I will. Thank you Sam!Tigerdude9 (talk) 16:44, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
Odd
[edit]I find it a bit odd that you add two facts and ask others to prove them. Richard 06:15, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
- Well I can prove things myself and in some cases I have done so, but finding proof it can be a hard task sometimes. I'll try and look for some citations. Tigerdude9 (talk) 17:58, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks. Like I said, to me it seemed a bit odd. It might be worth considering trying to find proof before adding such things. Richard 22:40, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for signing up for this project. It is a very busy and active project with lots going on and we can always use more help and especially a fresh set of eyes. If you haven't done so already you might want to add Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft to your watch list as this is where much of the background discussion occurs. You may also want to watch Wikipedia:New articles (Aircraft) as this is where newly created articles get listed for peer review. Having a look over these new articles is a great way to get a feel for how things are done on the project and also most new articles need reviewing anyway. If you have any questions you can leave me a note or post at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft, either way you will get a quick response. - Ahunt (talk) 22:52, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
Buah Nabar, Sibolangit, Deli Serdang moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Buah Nabar, Sibolangit, Deli Serdang, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 18:09, 21 October 2018 (UTC)File permission problem with File:N312RC before it crashed.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:N312RC before it crashed.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MilborneOne (talk) 19:17, 24 October 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Air France Flight 447's pilots.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Air France Flight 447's pilots.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Whpq (talk) 18:16, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 18:12, 28 October 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, Tigerdude9. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
Lynx and bear
[edit]As MONGO notes, both lynxes and grizzlies are endangered or threatened in the lower 48 states, and by basing edits on IUCN status you're making a synthesis without knowing the actual facts. Acroterion (talk) 12:59, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
- Well, I did go on the IUCN website and checked the LC list just to be sure. Tigerdude9 (talk) 15:12, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
Aeroperú 603
[edit]Can you revert the edit, there’s to much information. Pilot error was not included in the investigation as there was no wrong actions made by the crew, along with ATC. The error made by them wasn’t big, when compared to the crew being spatially disorientation.
OrbitalEnd48401 (talk) 16:34, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
Hello again, I reverted your edit. I appreciate your edit as yes those two factors were also a cause. But compared to the other factors I.e spatial disorientation and instrument failure, those are the key causes. It’s just with this summary in particular I’m trying to keep it as short as possible! Thanks bud

Clean up needed at Thai Airways International Flight 261
[edit]Why in the world would you add the section "Thai Airways Airbus A330 incident" to Thai Airways International Flight 261? Other additions you made introduced multiple grammatical errors also. Please remove the Thai Airways Airbus A330 incident section and fix the other errors. - Samf4u (talk) 19:38, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
- Well I translated from the Russian version (as it had the reccomended artcle star next to it) and the A330 incident was in the Russian version in the first place. The incident was slightly related to the crash of flight 261, except that was because some passengers were claiming that they saw the ghost of one of the flight attendants who was killed in the crash of flight 261. I was even thinking about removing it ahead of time. Anyways, I removed the section and fixed the grammatical errors as you requested. I've also added a clean up template. Some issues
[edit]Hi Tigerdude9, Concerning Thai Airways International Flight 261: https://aviation-safety.net/photos/displayphoto.php?id=19981211-0&vnr=1&kind=PC, I asked for permission to use this image 2 weeks ago and have received no reply.
Your latest edit to Aeroperú Flight 603 left 2 concerns.
1) You created Cite errors under the References section.
2) The Aftermath section should include "The activities that happened after the accident, to include information on the "Search and rescue" and "Recovery" phases of the accident." Generally the Aftermath section should be just before the Investigation section.
Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject Aviation/Style guide/Layout (Accidents) under page content. Take a look and see what you can do to fix these issues. Thank you - Samf4u (talk) 19:30, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
- I have fixed the cite errors, though there are basically two aftermath sections (look closely). I know that the aircraft passengers and crew are suggested to come after the accident section, but due to the complex aftermath and investigation, I had to put the "aircraft, passengers, and crew" first (I mentioned this in Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aviation/Style guide/Layout (Accidents)). I apologize in advance for any mistakes. Tigerdude9 (talk) 21:21, 29 December 2018 (UTC)

Clutter in infoboxes
[edit]Can you please avoid adding empty infobox parameters that are not applicable to the particular article? Such as what you did here: for air accidents where all people on board were killed, there's absolutely no point in adding the injures=
and missing=
parameters; same for extra stopover parameters when there was only one stopover. I appreciate the reformatting of the infobox, which is something I'm working on as well (e.g. I invite you to add the occupants=
parameter wherever is missing), but all those extra parameters that are not applicable just pollute the source code. Thank you. --Deeday-UK (talk) 08:22, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
- You did it again here. From now on, if I see an edit that introduces garbage in the infobox source code, I'll just revert it. If you don't care about tidying up your own code, I won't care either and will just hit Undo, ok? ---Deeday-UK (talk) 18:58, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Deeday-UK:Ok, ok, I forgot to remove it. Though it might also look less cluttered if I got rid of the stuff in parentheses as well as the empty parameters. Here is a less cluttered version. Take a look I have not added it yet as it's better that you take a look at it first:

Tigerdude9 (talk) 21:30, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- That's much better. To tidy it up even further,
image_size
is deprecated; it should be replaced withimage_upright
(leaving it blank or using a modest value, e.g. 1.1). Same fortype
, which is nowsummary
. You can also get rid of pointless piping in links, and use[[Tupolev Tu-144S]]
instead (per WP:NOPIPE). The time of the crash is never specified in the infobox, as it's not particularly relevant. --Deeday-UK (talk) 22:52, 6 March 2019 (UTC)- Ok, I made the modifications. I'll put it in the article. You are welcome! Tigerdude9 (talk) 22:55, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Lauda Air Flight 004
[edit]Re your edits - whilst not wrong, the fact remains that this was the deadliest accident involving the 767, as 9/11 was not an accident, but a terrorist attack. A similar situation exists at British European Airways Flight 548, which is the deadliest aviation accident in the UK. Pan Am Flight 103 was a terrorist attack. Maybe the Lauda article could be handled in a similar way to BEA548? What do you think? Mjroots (talk) 20:36, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
Delta 191
[edit]There was no pilot error involved Emojibop (talk) 21:20, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
The article Finance and Development Inspection Agency has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No citations provided (WP:RS), lacks context and is MOS:UNDERLINKed, and is clearly directly translated. This should be WP:DRAFTIFY'ed.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. HunterM267 talk 18:32, 24 March 2019 (UTC)

Aviation accident layout in the U.S
[edit]Hi! Tigerdide~ I saw your edit on deedays talk page ~ I don't know exactly where I read in wiki but if the article is more geared towards the way English or European or Asian read and write then the consistency stays with how ever the page is written ~ if it is written more in american lingo then the page stays more american ~ so if the way Americans lay out air accidents is different than say the way english do but the article is written more inline with the american way it should stay american ~ and vice versa if in English ~ ~ which article were you talking about ~ by the way nice meeting you~ if I can help in any way ~ let me know here and I will do my best ~ thanks again ~mitch~ (talk) 12:34, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
- @mitch, the choice of which variant of English to use for an article has got nothing to do with the article structure. As far as aviation accident articles are concerned, the agreed structure is laid out at WP:AVILAYOUT-ACC, and nowhere does it say that different article structures apply to accidents occurred in America, Australia, Europe or anywhere. --Deeday-UK (talk) 20:17, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Deeday-UK: If you are trying to ping me you are doing it incorrectly ~ If I was not watching this page I would have never seen your statement to me ~ ~mitch~ (talk) 21:01, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Mitchellhobbs: Yes the article should stay the American way if it's written more in American lingo. Also the article I was talking about was UPS Airlines Flight 1354. Tigerdude9 (talk) 21:15, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
- Tiger thanks for the info I'm learning accidents the same as you ~ @Deeday-UK: does have some valid points ~ but together I am sure we three can build on what were are here for ~ editing and having fun at the same time ~mitch~ (talk) 21:19, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
Regarding pinging, I tend not to bother people unless it's absolutely necessary. Glad you saw the message, anyway. --Deeday-UK (talk) 21:45, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
- No problem sorry ~mitch~ (talk) 21:50, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
Ok so to start things off I would like to bring up an edit to UPS Airlines Flight 1354. It is understable that there was a image overkill, and we will not restore them. But something felt, just off. Tigerdude9 (talk) 02:35, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for July 7
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Eastern Air Lines Flight 212, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Charleston (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

For details see the content guideline, the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide or the edit notice on any DOY page. Please do not add new additions to these pages without direct sources as the burden to provide them is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages. Thank you. K.H. Yusuf Muhammad moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, K.H. Yusuf Muhammad, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Pilot error
[edit]Tigerdude9, you've got to stop adding 'pilot error' wherever you feel it's appropriate; it is not, unless you can quote a reliable source using exactly that phrase. It's astonishing how casually you seem to disregards guidelines on original research and synthesis as you did on UPS Airlines Flight 6. Keep your personal deductions to yourself ('the report says such and such, therefore it must have been pilot error'), let alone your in-line speculation ("It could be possible that the flight crew shut down PACK 1. If so, then pilot error would be one of the causes
").
This is not the first time I'm telling you this. I would suggest to focus your attention on other aspects of the article, and leave accident summaries and presumed pilot errors alone. There was another 'orbital' editor, not long ago, that seemed obsessed with adding 'pilot error' to every accident article, and it didn't end up well. --Deeday-UK (talk) 13:29, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
- I'll be honest, I though OR might be okay in acomment that can't be seen when not editing. Plus (this is my personal opinion) I don't care how big or small the errors are. Pilot error is pilot error. Both pilots were at fault in the Tenerife accident. And Douglas Lampe violated crew resource management by deciding to return to Dubai (even though that was not stated in the report; it does state that it does require frquency changes though). It's still worth noting. As for quotes that use that phrase, the closest you can find is "the flight crew's failure to [do this]" in accident reports or another source that says "pilot error is the cause of..." as long as it's reliable. However, whatever is noteworthy should be noted. I'm sorry, it's just hard to tell where it's appropriate. You are right about the OR stuff, though noteworthy stuff should be noted. I respect your opinions though. Tigerdude9 (talk) 16:37, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
- 'Pilot error' is a simplistic, non-neutral and unhelpful expression that does not help the reader understand. It's no wonder that no half-decent accident investigator will ever use it in their reports. To quote from the UK AAIB "The sole objective of the investigation of an accident [...] is the prevention of future accidents and incidents. It is not the [...] purpose of such an investigation to apportion blame or liability", so if the report does not apportion blame, our article shouldn't do it either, whereas saying that an accident was due to pilot error does exactly the opposite. If some other reliable source – an established newspaper, a book by a reputable author etc. – does use that phrase, then we can quote it, if appropriate, but we certainly cannot pepper the encyclopedia with 'pilot error' whenever the report says that the crew did or did not do something that they were or were not supposed to do (but we do mention what the crew did or did not do, of course).

- As for accident summaries, the causes of an accident are almost invariably numerous. Cherry-picking the ones that feel more appropriate (especially pilot error) and putting them in the summary breaks the neutral point of view, therefore they are best left out entirely, which is also how accident reports summarise the event in their titles (e.g. 'Accident Report – Boieng 737 Nxxxx, Controlled flight into terrain, Springfield, 27 July 2019'). Say what happened in less than ten words, and don't try to cram in why it happened. --Deeday-UK (talk) 13:17, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
- Yes I know that. The same apply applies to the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and other investigation boards. To quote from from the US NTSB The NTSB does not assign fault or blame for an accident or incident; rather, as specified by NTSB regulation, “accident/incident investigations are fact-finding proceedings with no formal issues and no adverse parties … and are not conducted for the purpose of determining the rights or liabilities of any person.” 49 C.F.R. § 831.4. In fact what you said is actually part of Annex 13 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation. All aircraft accidents are designed to prevent accidents in the future and nothing else. They are not meant to blame or make anyone responsible. Do you want me to make a fictional report on that 'Accident Report – Boeing 737 Nxxxx, Controlled flight into terrain, Springfield, 27 July 2019'? We both have different views. I view pilot error is a neutral term that is worth noting maybe because I'm autistic (even though that's highly unlikely) , but it's the only reason I could find. You say it breaks said neutrality. Let me describe a summary in less then ten words if that 737 Nxxxx became a reality: "Controlled flight into terrain due to pilot error." "Tigerdude9 (talk) 22:16, 27 July 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Down the Hatch (comic)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Down the Hatch (comic) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Disputed non-free use rationale for File:N1217A about to takeoff on the accident flight.png
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:N1217A about to takeoff on the accident flight.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:N1217A about to takeoff on the accident flight.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:N1217A about to takeoff on the accident flight.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:37, 12 October 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!
[edit]Hello,
Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!
From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.
If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.
Thank you!

[edit] When adding links to material on external sites, as you did to Adam Air Flight 574, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube or Sci-Hub, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe the linked site is not violating copyright with respect to the material, then you should do one of the following:
- If the linked site is the copyright holder, leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page;
- If a note on the linked site credibly claims permission to host the material, or a note on the copyright holder's site grants such permission, leave a note on the article Talk page with a link to where we can find that note;
- If you are the copyright holder or the external site administrator, adjust the linked site to indicate permission as above and leave a note on the article Talk page;
If the material is available on a different site that satisfies one of the above conditions, link to that site instead. Elizium23 (talk) 16:09, 9 March 2020 (UTC)

I undid part of your edit[2] Why?
1- You added not 1 but 3 references to a sentence and not one of the 3 references corroborated what the sentence said. This is a pet peeve[3] of mine (and others) around WP.
2- Those references used to be in the article as long ago as 2013[4]. They were part of a paragraph about a separate investigation. I cleaned up[5] the article, which at the time blamed the crash partly on cell phone use, and alternative hypothesis section was deleted. Here[6] was a brief talk page discussion.
References are good but only if they corroborate what is said in the article. If they don't, the references have no place in it....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 10:03, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
- Well, I re-added those references because they were in the Finnish version of the article, which is also rated as a good class article and could one day upgrade the class of this article. Tigerdude9 (talk) 19:13, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
- And how the hell are they related to something quoted right out of accident report? They aren't and therefore they don't belong there. I'm finding other similar edits done by you. You're still doing this. I may have to consult an administrator or start a discussion....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 20:43, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Alaska Airlines Flight 261
[edit]Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Alaska Airlines Flight 261 you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. National varieties of English
[edit]Hello. In a recent edit to the page Kenya Airways Flight 431, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.
For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.
In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Jetstreamer Talk 22:34, 2 February 2021 (UTC)
- It didn't specify which variant of English to use. Tigerdude9 (talk) 18:12, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Alaska Airlines Flight 261
[edit]The article Alaska Airlines Flight 261 you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Alaska Airlines Flight 261 for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. I need some help
[edit]Hello Tigerdude9! I am from the Portuguese Wikipedia but i'm here to request something. So, I translated some bits of Pulkovo Aviation Enterprise Flight 612 and published to the Portuguese Wikipedia. You may have noticed that i'm not that good on translating articles from Russian to English, but I try my best to correct. The Russian article of this accident has more details than the English one and more references, so my question is: are you able to convince some Russian translators to translate this article? Because if the English article is translated, I can translate to the Portuguese Wikipedia. Thanks!--Fernandokaiserbr (talk) 23:01, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
Pan Am Flight 799
[edit]On 19 January 2021, you marked the cited article with the tag 'This article is a rough translation from Russian. It may have been generated by a computer or by a translator without dual proficiency. Please help to enhance the translation. The original article is under "русский" in the "languages" sidebar.' I deeply appreciate your concern for the language fluency of Wikipedia articles, but have you carefully read the current article revision? Even though it started out as a rough translation on 19 November 2018 by (I believe) your good self based on an ru.wikipedia.org article, it's been extensively revised since then by native English speakers, and now reads to this native English speaker, at least, exactly as if it were written by someone from the UK, the US, or Canada -- and with reference to solid sources in the English language rather than Russian. If you have doubts about this matter, I would encourage you to cross-check with known English-speaking Wikipedians to test my perception. Without someone doing so, in my opinion there's a significant chance that the tagging will persist although the problem is long gone. Again, thank you for your time and good work. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:3024:182f:d100:c484:bc18:d201:c021 (talk)
Disputed non-free use rationale for File:HL7229 at Copenhagen Airport (CPH) in November 1992.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:HL7229 at Copenhagen Airport (CPH) in November 1992.jpg.
Simple question about a date in a cit
[edit]Hi, you recently updated a cit in the article Air Algérie Flight 702P. I think you archived the source (the AAIB accident report) or something like that, but I'm curious about the date you put into the citation of 7 December 1995. How did you find that date? The AAIB report says only that it was first published in 1996. Many AAIB reports have only the year next to the Crown copyright notice, and others have the month and the year. I've spent a fair amount of time scanning AAIB reports for dates and not found anything more specific than the Crown copyright notice. I'd like to enter the complete and correct date when I cite AAIB reports.
BTW, if you're interested, I uploaded that report + appendices and a few others to the Wikimedia Commons, Category:AAIB aircraft accident PDF files - this one is found here with appendices here. I only recently learned they collected these reports at Wikimedia. Dcs002 (talk) 07:26, 11 March 2023 (UTC)

Zhang Baoyu moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Zhang Baoyu, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). LANSA flight 502
[edit]Hi Tigerdude9, regarding your edit here, you essentially called me a copyright violator. But you neglected to check when/where that text originated, and if you search both WP history and ASN history (on Wayback for the latter), you'll notice that the copyvio is in reverse. Thanks, Crum375 (talk) 19:35, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
- For clarification, this issue of ASN lifting wp's text verbatim came up years ago, and I felt it set a bad precedent for them to do that, since we frequently rely on them for various factual tidbits. I recall sending them an email complaining about it at the time, but got no reply, so I ended up ignoring it. It was only when you removed big chunks from the article and called it copyvio, which led to the article's GA needing reassessment, that I realized the irony of this situation. I am sure you did it innocently, so no big deal, and it's good for a laugh, I guess. Crum375 (talk) 22:50, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

Edit summaries
[edit]Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. Hi, Tigerdude9. The above article that you created has been tagged with a notability concern tag since February 2021. Taking a look at it, I don't think it meets Wikipedia's notability policy on events. Do you have any objection to merging the content into Delta_Air_Lines#Accidents_and_incidents? There's already an entry for the incident, but that probably be expanded a bit and some references added so the information is still accessible to readers, and the article history can be preserved in case you ever want to come back and revisit it with an eye to expand it later. Invitation to participate in a research
[edit]Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
