Hello, welcome to my talk page!

If you want to leave a message, please do it at the bottom as a new section, for better formatting. You can do that by simply pressing the plus sign (+) or "new section" on the top of this page. And don't forget to sign your messages with four tildes, like this: ~~~~

Attention: I prefer to keep discussions unfragmented. If you leave a comment for me here, I will most likely respond to it on this same page—my talk page—as an effort to keep the entire conversation in one place. By the same token, if I leave a comment on your talk page, please respond to it there. Remember, we can use our watchlist to keep track of when responses are made. At the same time, feel free to send an alert to me on this page about a comment you have left elsewhere.

Thank you! Vanjagenije (talk)

Hello, some new articles have been tagged with the "Under construction" template but fall under "CSD A2". Should we speedy delete these articles? How should we handle these cases? Thanks! P. ĐĂNG (talk) 04:42, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@P. ĐĂNG: What are those articles? Vanjagenije (talk) 21:05, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the delayed response, but the post was deleted and then recreated by another member. If I come across some new articles that fall into such a situation, what should I do? Thank you! P. ĐĂNG (talk) 09:11, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My recommendation is not to do anything. Vanjagenije (talk) 11:33, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/LuboneEditors

[edit]

Thanks for your work on this, but what about Park hue? Wikishovel (talk) 05:27, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Wikishovel: I don't see any edit from that account. Am I missing something? Vanjagenije (talk) 05:57, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's a one-edit account that either created or heavily edited Draft:Kefas Brand, which was then moved to draft by User:Adrian Chumachen. Wikishovel (talk) 06:03, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see any edit, not live nor deleted one. It must be Wikipedia:Oversighted. I don't want to block an account unless I can see some disruption coming form that account. Anyway, if there is only one edit made in March, there is no ongoing disruption, so there is no need to do anything. Vanjagenije (talk) 06:08, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Vanjagenje, you s-deleted that page that had been recreated by me, and mentioned you were assuming it met G4. Very sorry but that is not the case, as I indicated on Tp (and another admin mentioned (see history)). Since Afd (closed 3 days before release of the film) the page had changed and was substantially different (I had added SEVEN full-length reviews in reliable media, none of them available at the time of the AfD) 2) the status of the subject had obviously changed (notoriety issue is now moot). I am therefore requesting from you that you please kindly restore the article. Thank you in advance. Best, -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 23:13, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Mushy Yank: There is nothing at Nunakhuzi to undelete. What is the exact title of the article? Vanjagenije (talk) 00:40, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply. Nunakuzhi, my apologies! Thanks again. -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 00:50, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

SPI request

[edit]

Since you checked this before, I'd like to ask your advice. Here, in the very end of the diff, "Minimax regret" tells: We are putting it back.. Who are "we"? I do not really know, but if they are not the same person, then based on their behavior, "Minimax regret" and User:W4r5a7w4r are definitely a case of WP:MEAT, pretty much per WP:DUCK. What should I do? My very best wishes (talk) 15:26, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

OrphanReferenceFixer: Help on reversion

[edit]

Hi there! I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. Recently, you reverted my fix to Municipalities and cities of Serbia.

If you did this because the references should be removed from the article, you have misunderstood the situation. Most likely, the article originally contained both <ref name="foo">...</ref> and one or more <ref name="foo"/> referring to it. Someone then removed the <ref name="foo">...</ref> but left the <ref name="foo"/>, which results in a big red error in the article. I replaced one of the remaining <ref name="foo"/> with a copy of the <ref name="foo">...</ref>; I did not re-insert the reference to where it was deleted, I just replaced one of the remaining instances. What you need to do to fix it is to make sure you remove all instances of the named reference so as to not leave any big red error.

If you reverted because I made an actual mistake, please be sure to also correct any reference errors in the page so I won't come back and make the same mistake again. Also, please post an error report at User talk:AnomieBOT so my operator can fix me! If the error is so urgent that I need to be stopped, also post a message at User:AnomieBOT/shutoff/OrphanReferenceFixer. Thanks! AnomieBOT 23:30, 23 August 2024 (UTC) If you do not wish to receive this message in the future, add {{bots|optout=AnomieBOT-OrphanReferenceFixer}} to your talk page.[reply]

Sorry, it was my error. Vanjagenije (talk) 23:32, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Userpage of blocked sockpuppet remains untagged

[edit]

Hello Vanja; I hope you are doing well. Can you please tag the userpage of the indefinitely blocked sockpuppet Lumbarschen, per WP:SOCKTAG? It appears both you and EdJohnston – whom I also notified (here) prior to the archiving of the case (diff) – forgot it. Thanks in advance for your time. Demetrios1993 (talk) 01:45, 28 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Demetrios1993: Tagging is not always needed per WP:DENY. Why do you think it is necessary in this particular case? Vanjagenije (talk) 23:27, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the response Vanja. I don't know if you have an older revision of WP:DENY in mind (I didn't check earlier ones), but the only relevant text I see is the following:
  • In general, "socktags" on blocked sockpuppets' user pages should only be added, removed, or modified by administrators or sockpuppet investigations clerks.
The relevant template {{sockpuppet}} gives the same reasonable guideline:
  • Usage: In general, this template should only be applied by Administrators or Clerks as part of the Sockpuppet investigations process.
Regardless of that, even if the former did suggest cases which would deem the use of the aforementioned template unnecessary, shouldn't the common established procedures presented in WP:SPI/AI take precedence over an essay such as WP:DENY? To be honest, I thought it was a given to tag the userpages of indefinitely blocked sockpuppets, which also adds them to the – certainly useful for future investigations – "confirmed" and "suspected" categories.
On another note, shouldn't the remaining text from the already closed and archived 17 September 2024 case in Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/GJOLEKA, be either deleted or archived appropriately? It appears that it was unnecessarily copied from the Wikipedia talk namespace to the Wikipedia namespace (diff).
Thanks again for your time. Demetrios1993 (talk) 19:54, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Troitskaya line RDT

[edit]

With the creation of the disambiguation page Novomoskovskaya (Moscow Metro) you have created a link to a disambiguation page in Template:Troitskaya line RDT. For some strange reason I am unable to point that link to the correct article. Are you able to fix that issue? The Banner talk 11:03, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@The Banner: I don't know how to fix it. Vanjagenije (talk) 19:02, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have applied a poor men's solution in the hope an export will come along. The Banner talk 01:30, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the SPI cleanup

Wagner swat

[edit]

Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Wagner swat‎‎ was requested to merge to another SPI. You just merged it in place. - UtherSRG (talk) 22:22, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@UtherSRG: I archived the closed investigation, I didn't "merge" anything. I see it was not necessary as tho whole case needs to be merged anyway. The merge has still not been done. What exactly is the problem? Vanjagenije (talk) 22:25, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I misspoke. I meant "archived in place". I thought the merger would happen first, then the archive. Am I wrong on the process? - UtherSRG (talk) 23:26, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you are right. But, some previous investigations were already archived before my archival. So, the archive needs to be merged too anyway. Vanjagenije (talk) 23:41, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ah! Fair enough. :) - UtherSRG (talk) 10:57, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
