Question from Saberyoda (05:31, 31 July 2023)

Hi! Is it possible for you to review my last two changes? I don't know if I'm overediting, just for the sake of it.

Thanks --Saberyoda (talk) 05:31, 31 July 2023 (UTC)

They look generally fine, but be sure to check that your grammatical changes confirm with the tense of the sentence. We do have a manual of style, which is worth checking out. Thanks, Schminnte (talk contribs) 10:38, 31 July 2023 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Blood on the Floor (Turnage)

DYK for Solo Per Due

On 5 August 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Solo Per Due, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Solo Per Due claims to be the smallest restaurant in the world and only serves meals for two? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Solo Per Due. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Solo Per Due), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Thanks for your help with Draft:Lillian (book)

I've added a reference and sources to the British Library and WorldCat info. I would very much appreciate if the review could be done soon because the recent death of the author is an opportunity to get information about him into the public domain. PeterGrecian (talk) 09:06, 8 August 2023 (UTC)

@PeterGrecian: I would recommend that you add more sources to show that the book passes our notability guidelines. The draft has been declined by another reviewer due to this lack of sources. Until the sources can show that the book is notable by these standards linked, the draft will not be accepted. Unfortunately, this may take some time, as there are backlogs all over Wikipedia at the moment. I thank you for your patience, Schminnte (talk contribs) 11:04, 8 August 2023 (UTC)

Nice to hear from you again Gerda. I've been busy nominating more articles for GA and have recently become a new page reviewer to help out with the backlog. Hope to be submitting some articles during the summer: I've had a couple of projects hanging around for a while. Schminnte (talk contribs) 19:54, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
Thank you. The project of those who recently died keeps me quite busy these days, - the saxophonist was nominated only yesterday, and was not through when I went to bed. Now I have a bishop in the same position ;) - The line-up of nominations is at WP:ITNN, and they expect 3 supports. Can you perhaps check, under 11 July, just look for my name. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:07, 18 July 2023 (UTC)

Query

Hello, Schminnte,

I was just curious how you kept on top of orphaned talk pages that had just been created. I use a Quarry query which does a search for these types of pages but in many instances, I find that you have already tagged them for speedy deletion! Few editors know or care about these random pages so I was curious how you discovered them. Do you notice them while you are doing new page patrol? I wasn't sure that Talk pages would show up on that feed.

Any way, thanks for all of the work you are doing, every little bit really helps keep the project neat and in order. Liz Read! Talk! 22:42, 12 August 2023 (UTC)

Nice to speak with you again @Liz. To be perfectly honest, it's probably because I am chronically online. I don't know about using a quarry query, I'm not very experienced in coding. I just regularly check the old Special:NewPages feed while filtered for Talk pages, as well as some other namespaces (Wikipedia talk, File talk, etc). I figure that someone has to do it, so whenever I see these orphaned talk pages I tag them. Sometimes I'm the first to see them, other times not. I don't do it as part of New Pages Patrol per say, but I do my own sort of "New Userpage (and draft)s Patrol" for U5, G11 and G12 regularly (as you're probably aware of by now). This is a sort of extension of that. Thank you for the appreciation: I feel that CSD can sometimes be one of the most misunderstood areas of the project, but for both maintenance and anti-spam work it really is essential. I know you are one as the main maintenance CSD admins, so the kind words mean a lot :) Schminnte (talk contribs) 22:52, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
Hi! Quick follow-up on this. What are the usual cases of orphaned talk pages that are legitimate/shouldn‘t be deleted? GA reviews come to mind as they technically don‘t have corresponding article pages due to their naming conventions, can you think of anything else? Actualcpscm scrutinize, talk 09:10, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
Some editors use subpages of their user talk for things like CVUA training and NPP School. I know some WikiProjects also use talk page subpages. Generally if it looks like it should be there, leave it. That probably sounds self-explanatory but it's true. Schminnte (talk contribs) 09:43, 13 August 2023 (UTC)

Question from SpaceExplorer12 (13:09, 13 August 2023)

Hi, I just got this thing on my talk page. What does it mean and whose right? Title:G, G, & S Message:No, the edit summary reasoning is factually accurate. The choice to include that specific criticism makes the page less neutral because it is factually innaccurate. This is why it should be removed. Notice the harsher, yet serious and factually based criticism above is left untouched. Tyrone Jahir (talk) 17:46, 12 August 2023 (UTC) --SpaceExplorer12 (talk) 13:09, 13 August 2023 (UTC)

Hey there @SpaceExplorer12! I'd Ike to help, but I'm not sure which edit you are referring to. Could you link an article or a diff of your edit? Thanks, Schminnte (talk contribs) 13:16, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
I think this:https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Guns%2C_Germs%2C_and_Steel&diff=1170006920&oldid=1169884291 but its unclear to me too @Schminnte SpaceExplorer12 (talk) 13:18, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
I think (?) that that section was ok. Someone's opinion on the book can't be treated as fact, so the edit summary doesn't make much sense. The writer is also an associate professor on that subject. I see no glaring reason for it to be removed. Schminnte (talk contribs) 17:00, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
Maybe comment on the talk page @Schminnte SpaceExplorer12 (talk) 17:00, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
Now that you've directed me to that discussion, I agree with User:Schazjmd here. There are better quotes to use in the source. This is no longer a reverting issue: it's a content discussion now, and I think the other quote makes more sense to use. Schminnte (talk contribs) 17:04, 13 August 2023 (UTC)

Why did you mark these as reviewed?

Hello @Schminnte. Could you explain why you have marked these two articles as reviewed in the WP:NPP?

DaxServer (t · m · e · c) 16:36, 14 August 2023 (UTC)

Certainly @DaxServer. NPP policy recognises that AfD is meant to be the arbiter of notability, so if an article is nominated for AfD it can be marked as patrolled as long as there are not any other immediate problems (i.e. copyvios, spam, vandalism). In fact, unreviewed pages marked for AfD are catagorised as "easy reviews" on this page. I hope that helps, feel free to ask any more questions that you have! Schminnte (talk contribs) 16:46, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarification. Have a nice day! ;) — DaxServer (t · m · e · c) 16:56, 14 August 2023 (UTC)

Question from SpaceExplorer12 (20:07, 14 August 2023)

Whys everyone getting so upset on my talk page --SpaceExplorer12 (talk) 20:07, 14 August 2023 (UTC)

I don't think they are getting "upset", they're trying to explain potential problems with your editing. These admins are more experienced than me and are making some good points. You should listen to what they have to say and try to make a change to your editing. Clerking traditional admin tasks is a trap that many new users fall for, so don't be too upset, but do stop. On the HICHS page

Hi Schminnte, I have reverted your edit on the page of the Himalayan Institute for Cultural and Heritage Studies. It is better to have it under the title 'Himalayan Institute of Cultural and Heritage Studies' rather than 'The Himalayan Institute of Cultural and Heritage Studies'. That seems to be the format followed by nearly all articles on organisations. Therefore, I request you to please delete the page 'The Himalayan Institute of Cultural and Heritage Studies', and keep only the one titled 'Himalayan Institute of Cultural and Heritage Studies', i.e., without the 'the' in the beginning. Apandeyhp89 (talk) 21:20, 14 August 2023 (UTC)

@Apandeyhp89: I didn't move the page so I'm unsure what you are talking about. There isn't really a reason to delete a redirect from a page move, so I'm going to reinstate the redirect. See WP:R#KEEP point 4. Also, I'm not an administrator so I can't delete pages. Schminnte (talk contribs) 21:24, 14 August 2023 (UTC)

St Hugh's Boat Club

Good evening Schminnte - Regarding St Hugh's Boat Club, please note that there are dozens of other Oxford college boat clubs with their own page so suggest this is not deleted. Happy to discuss further if necessary! Oxonwiki (talk) 18:48, 14 August 2023 (UTC)

Hi there. I'd advise you that WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is not a good arguement for an article's inclusion. There has been a previous debate as to the notability of the club which led to its deletion, hence the tag. Schminnte (talk contribs) 18:52, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for the prompt response, Schminnte. It would be surprising that a constituent college rowing club of the University of Oxford is considered not notable. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxford_University_Rowing_Clubs would look odd to have a red link if this is not included. Please let me know your thoughts. Oxonwiki (talk) 22:24, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
Well, there are already at least three pages in that list that don't have pages. As for notability, I wouold recommend that you read through our notability guideline for organisations, which is rather strict. Also note that on Wikipedia, we don't generally believe in inherited notability, so every topic needs to stand on its own notability. Thanks for understanding, if you have any other questions for me then please reach out! Schminnte (talk contribs) 22:29, 14 August 2023 (UTC)

Hello there User:Schminnte , you warm welcome makes me want to edit the encyclopedia even more by making useful contributions :) ,So thank you for the kindness and warm welcome.

I hope you can assist me with a question I recently recieved from an Editor User:Frankymulls on the encyclopedia?

Since you welcomed me into the encyclopedia, I feel I could use your help as a mentor.

In short words they wanted to know about the article B Major (South African musician) which they have created and which I "Assessed" with C class rating from the list of backlog that needed "Assessing", and I immediately thought about you since visiting your page and seeing the new page reviewer badge displayed.

Could you please assist the User:Frankymulls with the reviewing process as I do not have the new page reviewer rights.

Thank you so much. UncleCedric (talk) 05:09, 15 August 2023 (UTC)

Hi @UncleCedric! Quick note: That article has some sourcing problems. I‘ve removed a section that was entirely unsourced, but there are still some claims that need a source check. Biographies of living people have high standards for sourcing (see WP:BLP); every contentious or potentially contentious claim needs an inline citation. I‘ll let Schminnte take a look at the rest of it. Thanks for your work, and welcome also from me! :) Actualcpscm scrutinize, talk 07:32, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
@UncleCedric and Frankymulls: I've had a little look at it, and it needs some work. The references especially: Discogs is not a reliable source, so should be removed; the Starleto news seems to be a spam site (they tried to get me to buy a VPN!); The Free Press refs need to be merged together; the knowledia reference is just the first reference copied. Are there any reliable sources that can be found and added to the article? Otherwise it may need to be deleted. Schminnte (talk contribs) 13:14, 15 August 2023 (UTC)

It is being cited because it is written in this reliable source. Note that Wikipedia is built off of reliable sources: saying that you have the "truth" will not help here unless you can show where you are getting your information from, so please present that information here. Hi. I removed the speedy deletion tag from this user page. It was about an hour old when you tagged it. It’s not promotional or particularly problematic. Some people store notes for future articles in their user space and that may be what this is.

Thanks for your work watching out for Wikipedia.

A. B. (talkcontribsglobal count) 20:13, 3 September 2023 (UTC)

@A. B.: I can see why you have done this. My main concern was that this fell under the U5 criterion for speedy deletion as being used as a web host since a quick search shown no sources with this information (i.e. it was OR and therefore a violation of WP:UPNOT and Wikipedia:NOR). FYI, U5 covers any content in userspace that is in violation of WP:NOTWEBHOST regardless of date. However, I was suspicious of the odd characters used in the text, so I completed a more thorough search and found that this is a wholesale copyvio of this article. I have tagged it for G12 accordingly. Thank you for your vigilance. Schminnte (talk contribs) 20:30, 3 September 2023 (UTC)

Thank you. Segilola Joseph (talk) 06:15, 5 September 2023 (UTC)

Hello @Segilola Joseph: I tagged this page for deletion as it was unambiguously promotional in tone. This was done under the G11 criterion of our speedy deletion policy. It doesn't matter who the person or product or organisation (etc.) is: if it falls under G11 the page can be tagged and deleted since Wikipedia is not a place for promoting anything. If you want to make a page for Agyin Kefas, please attempt to keep a neutral tone at all times. Thanks, Schminnte (talk contribs) 07:34, 5 September 2023 (UTC)

Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!

October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.

PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.

Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.

Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.

This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it to appear on the Main page as Today's featured article. Keep up the great work! Cheers, Gog the Mild (talk) via FACBot (talk) 00:05, 23 September 2023 (UTC)

Help Moving Redirects to IndyCar Series at the Milwaukee Mile

Hi, I see yesterday that you helped with moving a redirect to the Penrose Heritage Museum, which I moved from the Pikes Peak Hill Climb Museum.

I am wondering if you can help me do the same with IndyCar Series at the Milwaukee Mile. In anticipation of the return of racing to this track, I renamed the article from the ABC Supply Wisconsin 250, which was the name of a single race in 2015. The are many redirects, such as Rex Mays Classic, the name of the race for several decades, which still redirect to the 2015 name.

Can you help? I am not sure how to do this, or where the tools are, as I am not sure what I am hoping to accomplish is technically called.

Thank you! RegalZ8790 (talk) 17:07, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

Hi @RegalZ8790: what I did was review the redirect that you created. These reviewing tools are only available to New Page Reviewers and administrators. All this does is let a page be indexed by a search engine. I don't usually review pages on request but I have went ahead and fixed the double redirect you created at Rex Mays Classic by moving the page. I assure you that the pages are now sitting in a queue and will be reviewed soon by a New Page Reviewer. All the best, Schminnte (talk contribs) 17:56, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for looking into this. Is there anything I need to keep in mind for a similar occasion, or I had I done everything correctly? RegalZ8790 (talk) 18:00, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
I'm not very familiar with the content side of this subject, but from a technical end I can't see anything you did wrong. Schminnte (talk contribs) 18:01, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

Karel 5

In fact, Karel 5 and Restaurant Karel 5 are not the same. The last one was downgraded to a bistro after losing its star. So the present Karel 5 is a new restaurant. In the same hotel, but still a new restaurant. The Banner talk 11:25, 1 October 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for telling me this, my apologies. I assumed they were the same as they had the same name and a star over the same period. Given your explanation I have reverted the redirect. Thanks for telling me! Schminnte (talk contribs) 11:30, 1 October 2023 (UTC)

Ridiculous article title change

I'm just a human who doesn't like it when people try to vandalise Wikipedia. Schminnte

Well, to me, you vandalised Wikipedia when you suddenly, arbitrarily changed the title of French India to "French Raj". French India was and is no more called French Raj than Portuguese India is called Portuguese Raj, or Dutch India is called Dutch Raj. Lubiesque (talk) 12:16, 2 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Lubiesque, first off I don't appreciate your combative language (Vandalism has a very strict definition on Wikipedia). Your accusation is also false: I was not the editor who moved that page to its current title. All I did was review a redirect to that page, which I believe it would serve as a valid redirect. Raj commonly means rule, and given the existence of the British raj it’s plausible that this could be a search term. As for the page move, I will ask for it to be reversed as no discussion took place. Hope this helps, Schminnte (talk contribs) 12:47, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
The page move has now been made. Schminnte (talk contribs) 14:14, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
Sorry Schminnte. I realize I've been combatively shooting the messenger so to speak, not the one who actually made the change. That said, I find it excessive that a someone who had just registered on Wikipedia the day before may unilaterally change the title of an article (not even bothering to give an explanation for his change) --Lubiesque (talk) 15:59, 3 October 2023 (UTC)
That should not usually happen, a by-product of my review of the redirect was that I could not move it back since it had a page history. That was admittedly an error, so sorry for that. Schminnte (talk contribs) 16:18, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for the review

Hi Schminnte, just thanking you for a review of my recently created article Shirburn Ballads. In fact I am by no means a ballad scholar or expert, just meandered onto that topic when researching the recent history of the contents of Shirburn Castle, recently dispersed at auction (an interesting family feud there!) and, although I had vaguely heard of the Shirburn Ballads MS, could find no trace of it being disposed at auction. Eventually I did find it listed in the British Library holdings, but not without a bit of trying ... thought it might be useful to share what I had found to the wider world (pus gave me an excuse to upload a couple of images to Wikimedia Commons of the same). Anyway, thanks again! Best regards from Australia - Tony Rees Tony 1212 (talk) 05:27, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

No problem at all Tony, it was a fascinating read. Thanks for all your work here. Schminnte (talk contribs) 07:27, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

René Roubíček

Your template requiring reliable sources is unfair. The article is based on printed sources, mainly catalogues and encyclopedias on glass art. It took several weeks of my work in libraries to create new article for translation.--NoJin (talk) 16:46, 13 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi @NoJin, I still think the tagging is fair. For example in the "Life: 1922-1945" section there are multiple paragraphs without a citation. Some of these are quite extraordinary claims, such as "mastering" six instruments and having a "perfect" visual memory. I would also like to see direct citations for each award. If you could add these citations I would be very thankful. All the best, Schminnte (talk contribs) 16:54, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
I have added the required references, hopefully to your satisfaction. Can you please remove the template?--NoJin (talk) 19:52, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
Thank you very much, those citations will help with verifiability. I've removed the tag. Happy days, Schminnte (talk contribs) 20:10, 13 October 2023 (UTC)

Both parent and child categories?

Hi!

You reviewed the article on Haloactinomyces I created earlier today. I've added a couple categories.

I have a question though. Would it make any sense to include two categories where one is a child of the other? For example, in this article, including both categories Pseudonocardiales and Actinomycetia, even though you can access the former by checking the subcategories of the latter.

I don't have much experience making articles but I would like to learn to do it properly. :)

Thank you! Laquin-Laquih (talk) 22:01, 15 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Laquin-Laquih, per the policy WP:CATSPECIFIC we should categorise pages as specifically as possible. I think this can be logically applied to taxonomic categories, so the current categories should be fine. Thanks for your work, Schminnte (talk contribs) 22:45, 15 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi, I see you added the refimprove suggestion to Rheobatrachus silus, but the sources are reliable and cover the entire subject. V.B.Speranza (talk) 22:01, 16 October 2023 (UTC)

Prior to my pruning there was an entire section with no citations. I have now checked the article and as part of the review noticed that some sections are a wholesale copyright violation of https://carnivora.net/gastric-brooding-frog-rheobatrachus-spp-t174.html. Can you explain this @V.B.Speranza? Schminnte [talk to me] 22:06, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
This is the exact information that was in the gastric-brooding frog same referencing and all V.B.Speranza (talk) 22:10, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for that, reverted my edits on the article, apologies for not finding the mirror. I feel the refimprove still stands for the §Description section, could you add citations for some of these measurements? Schminnte [talk to me] 22:13, 16 October 2023 (UTC)

hello, may I edit my self here at Wikipedia? --Unaralotu567 (talk) 17:31, 18 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Unaralotu567: anyone can edit here at Wikipedia. However, autobiographies are strongly discouraged due to the conflict of interest that naturally occurs when writing about oneself. Peter Oriešek

There are about 60 % online citations in the article. NoJin (talk) 23:33, 18 October 2023 (UTC)

@NoJin: I don't quite understand what you mean, but I assume it is to do with the more citations tag I added. There are several paragraphs in this article without a single citation (first paragraph of §Life; second, third and fourth paragraph of §Drawing and painting). §Drawing and painting in particular will need good sources to back up these claims to show that this is not original research or biased content: examples are "mastery of this technique allows the painter to create a perfect illusion", calling the female bodies depicted "formally perfectly beautiful" and "Peter Oriešek is one of the leading representatives of the current generation of Czech modern painting and sculpture". Hi @AnaAhliFalasteen: usually anyone can contribute to a Wikipedia article by using the "edit" button at the top, but certain articles are protected to prevent disruption. Hamas is under extended-confirmed protection, which only lets accounts with 30-days tenure and 500 edits edit those pages. This is done because the article is related to a contentious topic: the Arab–Israeli Conflict. You can still suggest changes with edit requests on the talk page. I want to achieve Wikipedia page my own Wikipedia page --Azeembeerr (talk) 06:42, 30 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Azeembeerr. Wikipedia articles are based on a system of notability, and the basic notability criteria is that a subject has been discussed at length in multiple independent reliable sources. If you believe you meet this criteria then an article might be made on you at some point, you could also request its creation. If you don't meet this, please don't attempt to create an article as it will likely be deleted. Whatever notability you have, note that creating autobiographies are strongly discouraged due to the inherent conflict of interest present. If you do make an autobiography, please use the AfC system. Fernando Natalio Chomalí Garib

Hello. I see you reviewed Fernando Natalio Chomalí Garib (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views). I'm not competent to assess its content but it seems to be a copy-paste of Draft:Fernando Natalio Chomalí Garib (moved from Talk:Fernando Natalio Chomalí Garib and originally created as Fernando Chomalí). What's the best way to unpick the resulting mess? Certes (talk) 23:45, 31 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Certes, thanks for catching that. I originally thought it was just a redirect expansion so thought nothing more of it. Since multiple editors added to the draft, I have requested a history merge. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 08:40, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

October 2023 NPP backlog drive - First place award

The Content Review Medal of Merit
Hi Schminnte!

Thank you so much for contributing to the New pages patrol backlog drive. You reviewed an astounding 1,673 articles and 2,386 redirects. That’s more than any other person could do, and it’s safe to say you impressed us all with your dedication to the project. Your reviews were not just plentiful, but they were accurate, efficient, and well reasoned. This drive would not have been near as successful without your reviews and helpful advice provided via Discord. As the one who invited you to join the NPP a few months ago, I am honored to award you the content review medal of merit. Congratulations and happy editing! - 🔥𝑰𝒍𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑭𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒆 (𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌)🔥 02:01, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Amons gus!, welcome to Wikipedia! You can see a list of our best articles here, or a larger list of articles that have passed a quality review here. Al the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 13:55, 2 November 2023 (UTC)

Question from TioderraDaVinci (09:36, 3 November 2023)

Hello, I was wondering if you could tell me of any new series or news, so that I could write a new article. Thank you --TioderraDaVinci (talk) 09:36, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi @TioderraDaVinci, welcome to Wikipedia! If you want to write an article but don't know what to write, you could try looking through our list of requested articles. You could also look through some reliable sources (think New York Times, Wall Street Journal, BBC News, Associated Press, etc.) and see if they are reporting on the same thing, which could show notability. I would recommend that you use our article creation system for new editors regardless, and have a read of this guide for beginners regardless of which path you choose. Thanks, Schminnte [talk to me] 09:49, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

Question from Ministry lovers on Pre-existence of Christ (16:33, 3 November 2023)

Hello my friend I have a comment I don't find anywhere in the KJV that there was a pre incarnate Christ. --Ministry lovers (talk) 16:33, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

Christ is the word made Flesh. The same word that God spoke in the beginning when he said let there be light and everything else he created when he spoke his word.thanks John 1:14 Word made flesh In the beginning was the word John 1:1 Ministry lovers (talk) 16:48, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi there @Ministry lovers, welcome to Wikipedia! I'm not an expert on theology so cannot help you specifically with this. Generally if you have an issue with article content, then you can post on the article's talk page. In the case of the article you mentioned, its talk page is here. Hope this helps, Schminnte [talk to me] 17:16, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

Question from Ma0414464214 (20:58, 5 November 2023)

When a real and final catastrophe should befall us in an area the first responsible would be the ruler the second responsible for it the terrorist organization build up from our own ranks Please translate to Chinese thank --Ma0414464214 (talk) 20:58, 5 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi there @Ma0414464214, welcome to Wikipedia. Unfortunately I don't speak Chinese so can't translate that for you. I would recommend using Google Translate or DeepL if you need a rough translation. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 21:16, 5 November 2023 (UTC)

Question from 37.252.91.20 on Nasimi_Aghayev

Hi. I don't know if you're an admin or not, but this article needs protection or the vandal blocked [1]. There is a user you have reverted too [2] who keeps removing sourced info, I think the user might be closely associated with the person or the person itself. They have removed info they don't like many times and now are trolling [3]. Thanks. 37.252.91.20 (talk) 13:55, 9 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi there. I've reviewed my edits on this page and I am not going to revert again. When I was reverting this edit, like you, all I saw was a removal of sourced content. However on a further inspection the sources don't seem to meet the required benchmark for a biography of a living person. I'm sorry, but I don't feel comfortable reverting again and would not have reverted if given the chance to rethink my actions again. Thanks, Schminnte [talk to me] 15:14, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
Additionally, their removal of the text was not vandalism, and neither was your edit. I have asked the user who reverted that edit to not accuse others of vandalism unless their edits clearly are and I hope that you will not do so either. Hey man im josh (talk) 15:18, 9 November 2023 (UTC)

Question from Haydn.yoo (06:28, 12 November 2023)

Hi I'd like to make a page on the film director and stunt coordinator Phil Tan. He's worked on over 200 Hollywood films over 43 years. Should I write a page that gets revised or have an experienced editor make one from scratch? --Haydn.yoo (talk) 06:28, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

Hello @Haydn.yoo, welcome to Wikipedia. If you think this director meets our notability guidelines, then you can make an article on then through this article creation system, which will give you feedback on the article. You should see this page for guidance in article creation. If you have a paid relationship or close connection with Phil Tan, you should declare a conflict of interest or paid relationship. If you don't want to do any of this, then you can list the article at our requested articles page for another editor to make, but there's no guarantee that it will be processed. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 12:47, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

Question from Olyki (01:54, 14 November 2023)

Hi! Nice to meet you, my name is Oly. My main goal in wikipedia would be translating to English and Spanish as many articles as I can because I'm studying translation in uni and I feel like it would bee good practise. Is there any way I can get permits for translating earlier? I can prove my proficiency in those languages as I have done several official tests.

Thanks in advace!! --Olyki (talk) 01:54, 14 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Olyki, glad to have you here. If you wish to translate articles, I would suggest trying editing some articles until you have access to the translation tool we use, perhaps helping out with Category:Wikipedia articles needing cleanup after translation from Spanish? You can also translate manually, taking articles from the Spanish Wikipedia and translating by hand, but be aware that other Wikipedas have different standards of notability. Above all else, you must always attribute your work, since translation is a derivative work. You can find more information here. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 09:02, 14 November 2023 (UTC)

Question from SandhyaJinan (06:03, 25 November 2023)

Can you help me to create an article and publish it on Wikipedia? --SandhyaJinan (talk) 06:03, 25 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi @SandhyaJinan, welcome to Wikipedia! If you want to create an article on Wikipedia I can recommend a few resources. You should start with Your first article, which in a nutshell will tell you about our notability guidelines and the practical process of creating an article. As this is your first article, I would recommend using our Articles for Creation system, which will let you draft an article and get feedback from reviewers. I hope this helps, if you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask! All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 07:58, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
