1946 in El Salvador moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, 1946 in El Salvador, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. An automated process has detected that you recently added links to disambiguation pages.

File permission problem with File:Jaime Abdul Gutiérrez.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Jaime Abdul Gutiérrez.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 16:20, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled granted

[edit]

Hi PizzaKing13, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! – Muboshgu (talk) 19:20, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi @PizzaKing13. I am writing this message to inform you that I have reported the user Atlacatl Cortes in the IRC channel of wikipedia in English and wikipedia in Spanish for several edit wars with you, for uploading images with the wrong license in wikimedia commons and ignoring our warnings (I have seen that you warned him before, I also warned him in eswiki but it seems that he ignored our warnings and is doing whatever he wants). I would like to kindly ask you, if you can, to report him here as well. If you need my statement for the report, let me know. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Central America under Mexican rule, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Central American Civil Wars. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

You are not the owner of the truth.

[edit]

I have noticed that you look for my contributions on Wikipedia and reverse them, no matter what and where they are, I think you have something against me, regrettable and laughable.

Your observations seem wrong to me, you assure that the information of the introductory paragraphs are already in the body, but Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, it is not a portal that offers summaries about people, facts or things, if you want the information, you go to the section and you read it, you don't stay with the first few lines. SalvadorianPower (talk) 23:21, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@SalvadoranPower: Just dropping this here.
"The lead section of a Wikipedia article—also known as the lead, beginning or introduction—is the section before the table of contents and the first heading. The lead serves as an introduction to the article and a summary of its most important contents. It is not a news-style lead or "lede" paragraph." –WP:LEAD

For this edit, and the explanation in the edit summary in general. Your signature and linter errors

[edit]

Just a reminder that your signature contains obsolete font tags. They create Linter errors, and it is advised that you change your signature to [[User:PizzaKing13|<span style="background-color:#0047AB;color:#F8BF45">'''PizzaKing13'''</span>]] [[User talk:PizzaKing13|<span style="background-color:#AD1519;color:#FABD00">''¡Hablame!''</span>]] ASAP.

The purpose of this message is because Linter errors affect the way the page looks, and with a lot of errors, the page may render badly. To reduce Linter errors, please change your signature.

If the software doesn't accept my replacement signature, let me know, and if that's the case, unfortunately you may have to change it to something else. Sheep (talk) 13:56, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Check Talk-page for the biographical entry on Gregorio Salazar y Castro

[edit]

You recently reverted corrections to the page on Gregorio Salazar y Castro. This seems to be based on the page's sole reference, which is not a historical record or research, but an article by the Salvadoran presidency. This reference confuses José Gregorio, born in 1795 with his father, Gregorio born 1773. But according to page 115 of Miguel R. Ortega. 1988 Morazán: laurel sin ocaso : biografía, Volumen 3. Ediciones II Centenario, Fundación Morazánica Honduras, referenced in the Wikipedia page for Carlos Salazar y Castro in Spanish (URL: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Salazar_Castro?wprov=sfti1) and accessible through Google Books (URL: https://books.google.no/books?redir_esc=y&hl=no&id=MPtqAAAAMAAJ&focus=searchwithinvolume&q=Gregorio), José Gregorio and Carlos Salazar Castro were brothers, not father and son.

It is also clear on pages 83-84 of "San Salvador y sus Hombres", published in 1938 by the Ministry of Education, that General Carlos Salazar y Castro and José Gregorio were brothers, not father and son. See San Salvador and his men. 1938. Ministry of Education. San Salvador National Printing. URL: https://books.google.no/books?id=ULQWAAAAYAAJ&source=gbs_book_other_versions

This is also correctly mentioned in the overview over Salvadoran state leaders in Spanish: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anexo:Presidentes_de_El_Salvador?wprov=sfti1 There is also more information on this family in genealogical records available here: URL: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/family/LTPJ-12F José Gregorio's mother should not be mentioned as his wife, and his brother Carlos should not be listed as his son. The changes you made should be reverted. Albertovth (talk) 08:20, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'd appreciate a copy edit of what is currently on the page, and I'll take it into account of your changes and suggestions into the future as I keep editing the page so it doesn't require another major copy edit in the future. Hi @PizzaKing13. I've seen you were reviewing this article for GA status and that it failed. Is it possible to reestart the reviewing process? I think I can adress all the issues given some time. Torimem (talk) 23:34, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Arepas

[edit]

Hi, PizzaKing, I see you undid two of my edits on the Arepa and Pupusa articles. But arepas are part of Bolivian cuisine and have been so for a long time, you can check the Arepa articles on the English and Spanish Wikis, and see it for yourself. Also, arepas are part of the cuisine tradition of Ecuador, were they call them "tortillas de maíz" and they are very common. JoselínDoom (talk) 00:51, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello PizzaKing13!

  • The New Pages Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
  • We think that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
  • If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.

Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!

Hi Pizzaking, just a quick reminder that reviews should have "some evidence of spotchecks" (i.e. saying you've looked at a source, or mentioning something from a source in the review). Great job on the reviews so far, but just querying before I approve them for points -- should I interpret "sources ok" as meaning you've done this? It might make things easier on the coords if you mention it more clearly. Thanks again for how much you've done so far, and I look forward to seeing more reviews from you. [edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:49, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@PizzaKing13: Could I trouble you to look at one more? Domínguez's Expedition to Honduras Just want to know if it looks plausible vs hoax. Per what I wrote on the talk page I tried. Sincerely, North8000 (talk) 20:52, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Talk:Autocracy/GA2 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Aborted review is confusing the bot into thinking there is an active review; can switch number at review but don't see reason to retain this.

Maximiliano Hernandez Martinez

[edit]

Hope you don't mind my additions to Maximiliano Hernández Martínez. I'm aware it's in GA nom so am avoiding editing anything that has been flagged up already. In terms of awards I found this reference here on page 108 [1] for his order of the quetzal placing it in 1937:

Véase «Cordialidad centroamericana», Diario Nuevo, San Salvador, 21 de agosto de 1937, pp. 1-2. Además, «Entrega del diploma de honor al Gral. Martínez», Diario Nuevo, San Salva- dor, 15 de septiembre de 1937, pp. 1-2.

I did a quick scan of the pdf's here [2] but couldn't see it but maybe you can.

It's a great article well done on it!

DYK for Maximiliano Hernández Martínez

[edit]

On 11 October 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Maximiliano Hernández Martínez, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Maximiliano Hernández Martínez (pictured) believed that hanging colored lights across San Salvador would cure a smallpox epidemic? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Maximiliano Hernández Martínez. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Maximiliano Hernández Martínez), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Conflict Resolution Re: the Hernandez Article

[edit]

it appears that my revision to Maximilliano Hernandez Martinez has been reverted by you as it was a removal of sourced material, regardless of the fact that the source material was not being properly used, per my comments on the revisions.

Is there any way I can defer this issue to a higher authority on Wikipedia? I believe my revisions were made in good faith, and do not believe Hernandez was a fascist, nor gave any affirmations of Hitlerism at any point in time, nor do I believe the source (Astilla) argues as such. 71.198.222.117 (talk) 05:51, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I reworded some things. Next time, don't accuse me of "Pure speculation and slander". PizzaKing13 (¡Hablame!) 🍕👑 06:10, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

 Done
I want to point out a few things (although on the whole this is a very nice article):
  • There are a few false cognates from Spanish that appeared throughout the article. I'm not sure if you or someone else translated it but one I really want to point out is that "diputado" is not a "deputy," it's more like representative or member of parliament/congress. I also saw there was a reference to an "affiliation secretary," which I think would more accurately be the "membership secretary."
  • I removed some of the original Spanish quotations, especially for very straightforward translations, I don't think it's necessary to keep them in there, since people can check the source or the Spanish version if they want to know what someone said.
  • I didn't check this extensively, but you may want to double check that all the references are cited in the right places. There were a few times when I wanted to double check the original Spanish source but the reference didn't seem to lead to what the sentence or paragraph was about.
