- Dear Krishna, I notice that you are still not putting edit summaries for your edits, like your edit to India. Please make sure you put edit summaries which will make it easier for the rest of us to know what you have done, and it will reduce the likelihood of your edits getting reverted. Thank you. - Kautilya3 (talk) 10:09, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

Please see the "View History" tabs on articles to see what kind of edit summaries that others write. (Some of them might be autogenerated.) Cheers, Kautilya3 (talk) 11:09, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to [[:Velaga Venkatappaiah]], did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page.Stop reverting. Information, including the awards section, must be referenced. Wikipedia is not a CV of person's career. You also did things wrong in the infobox that I correct and other spots. - Your reference comes from google drive. The book must be from a reliable source, not self-published. Somebody should be able to find the book.
- I deleted his "high positions" because Wikipedia is not a CV. Most of the positions are not important. You also gave quotes of high praise from various people in the same section. Welcome to Milhist!
Hello and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you are interested, or you can add it directly to your user page by copying the following: {{WPMILHIST Announcements}}.
- Important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, writing contests, and article logistics.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a set of guidelines that cover article structure and content, template use, categorization, and many other issues of interest.
- If you're looking for something to work on, there are many articles that need attention, as well as a number of review alerts.

Your "contact info" page
You really should remove your "contact info" page, for a number of reasons.
- Putting your email address and phone number publicly on the internet isn't safe, and is a sure way to get tons of spam (and users can always contact you by going to Special:EmailUser/Krishna_Chaitanya_Velaga.
- Per WP:NOTSOCIALNETWORK, "The focus of user pages should not be social networking, or amusement, but rather providing a foundation for effective collaboration."
- Per WP:USERBIO, your user page should not contain "Inappropriate or excessive personal information unrelated to Wikipedia", which includes your numerous social media links.
- Your use of the non-free Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and Blogger logos violates item #9 of the Wikipedia Image Use Policy, which only allows non-free images to be used in articles.

- All you need to do is add the

Position 0 is the far right of the screen (where you currently have your flag topicon), then the numbers increase as you go further left. Have a look at my own userpage for an example of this in use. - I'd strongly advise against setting background images. It does not in any way improve the encyclopedia, it makes the respective pages harder to read, and it's rather complicated, requiring quite a bit of effort to achieve the desired effect - if that's entirely possible at all. If you're willing to invest that effort, I'd point you towards these templates which were meant to produce, in combination, a map with labels. It should be possible to adapt that technique to produce a background image with regular text on it. I'll leave the details to you. Huon (talk) 20:50, 23 August 2015 (UTC)

- The images can be used in infoboxes if they are being used as the primary means of identification of the subject of the article. That is how they can be used in 5 Gorkha Rifles and 8 Gorkha Rifles. They are not being used as the primary means of identifying Sam Manekshaw and therefore their usage does not satisfy NFCC#8. The images also do not have the separate, specific non-free use rationale they need for Sam Manekshaw per NFCC#10c so they can be used for that reason as well. - Marchjuly (talk) 09:59, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Kulwant Singh Gill
Hello Krishna Chaitanya Velaga. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Kulwant Singh Gill, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: An Air Marshal is notable under WP:MILPEOPLE #3, certainly passes A7. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 17:39, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
- The notice above wasn't meant for you, but for the person who tagged the article for speedy deletion. If you want to nominate your own article for deletion, before anyone else has made substantial contributions, you can do that by putting
{{db-author}}
at the top, you don't need to go to AfD.
- But I don't understand why you wanted this one deleted. Air Marshal Gill is certainly notable enough to be in Wikipedia, and Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL shows plenty of references. I have added three of them to the article. Take a look at what I have done to the article, to see how to arrange one. WP:Writing better articles tells you more. Referencing looks complicated, but is explained at WP:Referencing for beginners. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 19:50, 20 September 2015 (UTC)

PP Reddy
Several sentences in PP Reddy are lifted straight from http://ids.nic.in/chief.htm. Thr source has no copyright explicit mention of copyright, so this might be okay, but be very careful of copying like this. Apparently you have done something similar at Army Postal Service (India) from this source. 220 of Borg 17:44, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
- Krishna Chaitanya Velaga you need to take action on this issue. Apparently these are wp:copyright violations. Copying from a source like this is not allowed. You need to remove or re-write anything you have copied. If you don't the entire page could, possibly, be deleted. Continuing copyvios could see you wp:Blocked from editing Wikipedia. This is under discussion at User talk:Moonriddengirl#Copyvios?. It is your interest to take part in that discussion. 220 of Borg 19:45, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- I have gone ahead and stubbed the article pending a rewrite that complies with our copyright policies, as content was taken from at least two sources. Please review Wikipedia:Copy-paste and the linked guidelines and policies. In general, aside from brief and clearly marked quotations, content you put on Wikipedia must be written in your own words and structure. There are a few exceptions to this, but it is wise to be careful, as copying content that does not quality for exception may, as user:220 of Borg notes, result in a block of your access. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:39, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
Hello Krishna Chaitanya Velaga, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. For your information Thank you. 220 of Borg 17:46, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. GA nominations
I've just speedy failed your GA nomination of the Indian Army article as it clearly does not meet the good article criteria - my comments are here. While the other articles you have nominated are in better shape at first glance, it is likely that they will also be failed given that you have not made significant contributions to the articles. Please take the time to read the Good article criteria, and I'd suggest that you remove the other GA nominations. Nick-D (talk) 11:27, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
- After looking through the other three nominations, they have similar problems to the just-failed Indian Army article: unsourced sections, references that are bare URLs, etc. At least one of them had an introduction that was far too short per WP:LEAD. They all need a significant amount of work in these areas, and probably others, before they meet the GA criteria. Please remove the other nominations. Thank you. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:35, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
- By the way, I noticed you were preparing an RfA page. Before you go ahead with it, I'd like to recommend that you submit your name on the WP:RFACP page to get helpful opinions on whether you're ready to apply to be an admin. Based on how long you've been at Wikipedia, the number of edits, and your experience so far in various areas of Wikipedia (including the GA nominations here), I think it would be a good idea to get an independent assessment of where you stand versus typical successful candidates for admin before you proceed. Replaceable fair use File:Air Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa AVSM YSM VM.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Air Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa AVSM YSM VM.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. Speedy deletion nomination of Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.vvitguntur.com/aboutvvit.php. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. MPS1992 (talk) 13:19, 5 June 2016 (UTC)

- You should be able to save the page at User:Krishna Chaitanya Velaga/Page name here (pick whichever name you want), and then you can transclude it by adding {{/Page name here}} to User:Krishna Chaitanya Velaga. Give that a shot and let me know if it doesn't work! /wiae /tlk 14:08, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
- (As an example, you can take a look at my user page; if you look at the source, you'll notice that I have {{/Text}}, which transcludes the content at User:Wiae/Text.) /wiae /tlk 14:10, 18 June 2016 (UTC)

15:46:37, 1 July 2016 review of submission by BrokBrok
Hi and thanks for your feedback. I am relatively new to making Wikipedia contributions so would appreciate your advice.
I tried to follow the guidance of an editor in ‘talk’ in making changes to this submission. They asked me to list more facts, be objective and just keep the best sources.
From my perspective it lists facts e.g. the organisation was founded by person x, has turnover y, has been called z and makes a, b, c. Each of the facts is supported by references often made in high profile independent journalistic sources such as the BBC, the Financial Times and The Daily Telegraph. Such source articles are also often extensive in length and solely about the organisation and/or what it makes. Many other such sources were omitted so as not to fall foul of citekill. But I assumed that taken together the sources I included would indicate that the organisation has been deemed a notable one in its field.
Any further guidance is appreciated!
Thanks BrokBrok (talk) 15:46, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

Please help me regarding this situation: Suppose there are two templates Template:X and Template:Y. Now I want to use Template:Y in Template:X while building it. But I only want the content of Template:Y to be used in X, not the entire template. I don't want the header and all of Template:Y in X, just the content or body and most importantly whatever the changes I make in Template:Y must reflect in X. Please tell me the way and code to how make this happen.KCVelaga ☚╣✉╠☛ 16:00, 2 July 2016 (UTC)
- Um... I'm not entirely sure what you want to do is possible. In order for Y to work properly, it must transclude all of its information when called. You can't just strip out a small amount and transclude it into X without affecting every transclusion. Now, you could substitute X into Y, but that would mean when you update X it would not automatically update Y.
- Let's get to specifics here. What two templates are you working on, and what are you trying to accomplish? There might be a way to code this differently to get what you want, but at the moment the general answer to your general question is "you can't do that." You can either transclude all of X into Y, or move some of X into Y but not have it update. Primefac (talk) 16:23, 2 July 2016 (UTC)

tags VarunFEB2003 (talk) 12:14, 20 July 2016 (UTC)- VarunFEB2003, true, but if you wanted only part of what's normally transcluded, it's not possible. That was how I originally read the request; when I see "the entire template" I don't think about the documentation and everything that's not normally transcluded. This is why I asked for clarification (which I never received). But you're right, if they are talking purely about "I want the template and not the documentation/extra bits" then you're dead-on with your suggestion. Primefac (talk) 22:43, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Hi,
I really don't understand your reason for proposing the deletion of the page. All the songs which turn out famous and win awards have a page on Wikipedia so that more details about them could be made available for the readers. I am still working on the article and I am going to add other sections including the accolades won by the song in various Bollywood Awards held in 2016. The Bajirao Mastani (soundtrack) page does'nt contain all details of the song. Hope your query has been cleared now.

How to transclude only the body (or content) of a particular template without the header (name, view, edit options etc.) and all?KCVelaga ☚╣✉╠☛ 00:51, 4 July 2016 (UTC)
- The content of a template is transcluded when you use the template. For example, {{help me-helped}} gives the template to the right of the page. When looking at the code, anything that is NOT inside <noinclude>...</noinclude> tags will be transcluded (there are other exceptions, but noinclude is the main one).
