That sandbox edit
Just FYI, I was testing to see if a bug editing anonymously using the API that I was seeing over on Wikia was also happening here -- it's not. You did confuse me a bit when it wasn't there until I thought to look at the history though, and for that, I trout you.
Whack! You've been whacked with a wet trout. Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly. |

Explanation please? Would you please preventively also prove that the statements you reverted were false? Thanks for your help. --grin ✎ 10:58, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
Hi! I recently declined your tagging with WP:G1 because the criteria is not eligible for the article. G1 (patent nonsense) only applies if the article is gibberish and has no meaningful history (e.g. "sjmdv Marcjsfdhvmamamama Lalalnmm"). In short, if you can understand it, G1 does not apply. Please see WP:CSD or WP:G1 for more info. Have a nice day :) Mediran talk to me! 09:32, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

America's Next Top Model
Hi, there seems to have been a mistake made in this edit. I was removing obvious hoax info: note the dates go up to 2052! There has been a lot of vandalism on that page, but I was actually reverting it, not adding to it. Thanks, Altered Walter (talk) 12:57, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

CVU
Hey Arctic Kangaroo! You may now visit your own academy page for the WP:CVU training! Thanks! :) Mediran (t • c) 13:32, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
Off we go!
Are you ready for the next task? If yes (and I know that it is yes), come on now at User:Mediran/CVUA/Arctic Kangaroo for your next assignment. Thanks! :) Mediran (t • c) 01:29, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
- Hey Arctic Kangaroo, you still need to find 2 good faith edits to move on to the next task. I see that you already have experienced on reporting users to AIV. That's good, now you will have prior knowledge to our future tasks. Thanks! Mediran (t • c) 05:54, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
Since I started becoming active in late November, I have been trying hard to extinguish vandalism in Wikipedia. I wanted to go through this course so that I can get the real meaning of vandalism, learn how to differentiate good-faith edits and vandalism. Basically, just to learn more about anti-vandalism and vandalism on Wikipedia to have a better understanding of them and how to handle vandalism. :) Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 06:04, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, I don't get it. So you want to abort the course? Mediran (t • c) 11:40, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
No, not that. I am continuing with the course, just that I am saying that I want to learn more about and have a full understanding of anything related to vandalism on Wikipedia, which is what CVUA is all about. So, just feel free to teach me whatever is in the syllabus. Cheers, Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 11:44, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
- Ahh... silly me. Your next task will be coming soon! Mediran (t • c) 11:57, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

Your next task is ready. I will be going offline now. It's getting late here and I have errands tomorrow morning 'till afternoon thus, I will continue to give you task tomorrow (I guess at the evening). Keep up the good work. Mediran (t • c) 13:05, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
- Hey Arctic Kangaroo!!!! Hey Hey hey. First of all, thanks for that response in my talk page regarding an issue. Anyways, what you're going to do with the task with the table is that...
- Put the diff of your reversion at the column "Diff of edit"
- Put the diff of your report at AIV if there are some at the column "Your comment (optional)"
- Note that at least two reverts and also at least two reports at AIV. Use Twinkle for easier reporting. Thanks! Mediran (t • c) 00:30, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
Vandal nomination
You have entered an incomplete nomination at AIV relating to an alleged IP vandal. Your nomination suggests that the editor in question is using multiple IPs, and I agree that it is important to stop this type of vandalism. But without either a complete IP address or any indication as to which article(s) is vandalised we cannot do much. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 11:22, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
Talk:Superman: The Legend
I'm a bit confused by your speedy deletion nomination of Talk:Superman: The Legend as a hoax- did you mean to tag this talk page, or the article itself?--Slon02 (talk) 19:52, 28 December 2012 (UTC)

Doubt
Even tough you have a banner in your page that states your (very) busy status, i can't help but notice you have replied to pretty much every message in your talkpage, but i was not "fortunate" enough in that department (regarding the User:Banana Fingers incident), on two occasions.
Is there anything i have not done properly in recent times or in the far past towards you, or something in my overall site manners you do not appreciate? If so, i sincerely apologize, keep it up from Portugal - --AL (talk) 08:42, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

January 2013 - UAAP Page
Hello. I did not make any disruptive editing. What I merely did was to replace the table included in the Women's Tournament with the template itself. I did so because it is easier to edit. As such, you won't have to edit both the page and the template itself. You can't block me for that. Besides, I know what I'm doing in the UAAP pages. I contribute to these pages every year. I appreciate your concern but I did not blank them in any way. If you have questions or anything, feel free to drop by my talk page. Thank you. Voncabriga 22:33, 6 January 2013

In response to your question at AIV, users who don't vandalize, don't have an inappropriate username, but repeatedly advertize ... you can warn them with {{uw-advert1}} through {{uw-advert4}} and then report them to AIV if they continue past the final warning. Same as vandalism, just different warning templates. -- Ed (Edgar181) 14:13, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
Why have you taken the modifications to the university of manchester students' union page offline
Hi,
Why does the changes to the unviersity of manchester students' union page constitute vandalism. Nealy ALL of the information is out of date on the current page. If you took the time to research this you could find that out easily. If you want wikipedia to be kept up to date, why delete up to date information?Holmes194 (talk) 15:58, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
University of Manchester Students' Union
How do my edits constitute vandalism when they are all up to date and correct? You have committed vandalism by taking all that information off. Try clicking on the citations at the bottom and you will realise that all of the links are broken. The organisation had a new constitution implemented this year and nearly all of the data on the wikipedia is now redundant.Holmes194 (talk) 16:03, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Michael L. Baird
The Michael L. Baird article is badly written. It reads like a resume, and contains a large amount of irrelevant info. That's why I modified the article. 71.251.39.105 (talk) 03:50, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
- I understand your concerns over the way the article is written, but the info that you deleted talks about the person's career (or something like that), which is relevant as it is a biography of a living person. Perhaps, you can try to rephrase those info into a more encyclopedic manner. Cheers! Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 03:55, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi - I notice you remove a COI declaration being made by the user who created the Profero article. Your note said you removed it as being "inappropriate". Can I ask on what grounds you removed it? I would have thought disclosing COI is entirely appropriate in this case. Thanks. --gilgongo (talk) 20:27, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
Don't worry ! :)
Don't worry my friend, I won't go too long, there's still many work need to do on this Wiki. Yeah, I would be back once the problem has been settled. :) — иz нίpнόp ʜᴇʟᴘ! 20:02, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, I worried, because you have great contributions to articles like the Sabah-related ones (although I have not really looked at them yet), but not 100%. I knew that you would definitely come back to Wikipedia, looking at all the last-minute info addition and decorating of your user page before you "retired". :P Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 15:42, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

It's good to see I'm not the only kangaroo on Wikipedia ;) -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 16:43, 18 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hi there Daemonic Kangaroo, I have known about the existence of another kangaroo on Wikipedia for a few weeks. I started becoming active around late November last year, but probably it's the time difference that's why you didn't notice me? Cheers. Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 16:49, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

WVIT
There is no edit war in regards to this article. I had removed miscellaneous, non-notable material from the article more than two weeks ago, and simply reverted after it returned. This warning is unwarranted. Other Side One (talk) 08:32, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
- What I mean is, that was just extra info about WVIT. So, what about discussing the matter with the other editors who object your edit on the article's talk page? Wikipedia is about consensus after all. Cheers and happy editing! Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 08:36, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
- From what I have seen, the issue was already discussed at WT:TVS, and the consensus was/is against it. Other Side One (talk) 08:42, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
- Possible to show me the diff of the discussion? I don't see it on that page now (perhaps I was messed up by the tons of words there). Thanks a lot. Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 08:48, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
- It's there, deep in the archives. Troublesome editors (Radiodj1520 being one) are the culprits adding this fancruft, which I'm sure Cowbert was not aware of when he reverted back. On that basis, I removed it again. Other Side One (talk) 10:40, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
Outside opinion from involved editor
Agreed with the removal of this information, which I have done because it's probably the work of one of the sockpuppets who persist in adding this information; looking in the past, the network slogans were generally used in the past solely by stations with no promotional budget or to fill a minute of airtime with the network's imaging song fit in with awkwardly placed mentions of the station. These days they aren't used at all thanks to direct response advertising. By past consensus, using the 'network slogans' within local station articles have been removed, mainly because the only sources to find them would either take eons to find at the local library or through YouTube and TV Guide collector's sites (which violates WP:ADVERT. - BTW, you are not a rollbacker yet. Why? I find you are active in fighting vandalism. --Makecat 12:39, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
- Well, I am trying to get a better grasp of anti-vandalism through the CVUA course. You can view it here. My trainer says that he will inform me when he feels I can apply for rollback. Anyway, I still make occassional mistakes in reverting vandalism, so I feel it's best I do more practice first. Arctic Kangaroo 13:08, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, sometimes it's difficult to identify vandalism. In fact, I find Huggle quite useful because it lists most possible vandalism at the top of the queue for you to review. You may try it when you have rollback rights. --Makecat 13:29, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

- Sure. When someone removes a message from their talkpage, it is to be assumed that they have read it, and they're allowed to remove it. The only messages they are not allowed to remove are block notices while blocked and some other templates (WP:DRC and WP:REMOVED). Reverting to the same message over-and-over again is like spamming your mailbox with stuff you've already seen. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 05:59, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

Thx for the barnstar. I'm quite new user in Huggle. You should also try out Huggle (you need rollback in eng wiki to use), I also tried twinkle at first but couldn't beat Cluebot and many other users with the speed of that. Then I started using STiki which was better than Twinkle, now I am using Huggle which is even better than other automated tools. My aim is to beat Cluebot but it's quite hard to beat the bot:P Anyway thanks for the barnstar. I really appreciate that. Torreslfchero (talk) 14:29, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
Your request for rollback
Hi Graphium/Archive 1. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Lord Roem ~ (talk) 15:10, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

Tagging of User:Pushbuttons edit as Vandalism
Vandalism on Wikipedia has a specific meaning, which is that it is a" a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia." - You fail to show that occurred with your tagging of the edit. Sources like the financial times and the Property Council of Australia agree broadly with the changes made by Pushbutton and if you have specific concerns then they should be discussed as normal editing disputes are, not by reverting the edit as vandalism. Stuart.Jamieson (talk) 18:03, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
- I'm very sorry about that. When I went through that edit yesterday, I failed to realise that the company had changed its name on 22 January 2013. I only referred to the page name and thus thought it was vandalism. I have reviewed the edit again, and I totally agree with it. So, do you think I should move the page? Cheers! Arctic Kangaroo 02:42, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
- No need to apologise to me, though perhaps one to Pushbutton would be in order (as well as removing the vandalism mesage). A page move would be sensible, but if you have any doubts use a requested move to check consensus. Stuart.Jamieson (talk) 09:06, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Graduate?
Hey Arctic Kangaroo! It's been days since you taken your task at your CVU course. And I was wondering if you want to graduate since you already have rollback rights. Why did you tag User:Simbhu13 for speedy deletion? I didn't understand what the problem was. Maybe you were right that the page deserves speedy deletion, but I don't know why; I didn't see any promotion there, much less pure vandalism. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 17:09, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Elikeh
Hello Arctic Kangaroo. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Elikeh, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Article claims coverage in reliable sources. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 06:14, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
- It was actually another user who tagged it for speedy. I only did my duty to restore the CSD tag when it was removed by the page creator before any admin even reviewed it. Arctic Kangaroo 07:52, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
- If you have let that page as it was ealier (before you reverted) then it would have been deleted as G8 (author blanked the page). Torreslfchero (talk) 10:28, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
- I'm sorry to bother you then. The script I use for speedy deletion notifies the last person to "tag" the article, so it sometimes makes that mistake. Feel free to ignore me. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 11:38, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

Username report
Hi there, I have seen that you have been reporting usernames in WP:AIV but it would be better if you report it in WP:UAA where username reports are reported. Although admin will block those in WP:AIV, it would fit better to report it there. WP:AIV is only used for to report vandalism by users and IPs. Thanks. Torreslfchero (talk) 12:33, 7 February 2013 (UTC)
- Hi mate, those I reported at WP:AIV were what I feel as "usernames that don't look/feel promotional". Those I feel prmotional, however, have been reported at WP:UAA. You can check my contribs between 7pm-8pm (UTC+8) if you want to take a look and verify. Cheers! Arctic Kangaroo 13:07, 7 February 2013 (UTC)
- Well, although you don't feel that you can always report it there (in UAA), they will be either blocked or be declined (your request). I know that you have very good contributions and also who know very well most of the things in wikipedia. Anyway, keep your good work on reverting and reporting vandalism. Thanks. Torreslfchero (talk) 13:12, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

Vandalism warnings
Hi, AK! I wanted to ask you to please not skip levels when warning vandals, except for really bad stuff like personal attacks. In those cases you should use a 4im level warning. The reason is that the AIV folks are generally pretty insistent that a vandal get 4 warnings before they will act. Thanks! Gtwfan52 (talk) 09:11, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
- Well, I usually use this system.
Level 1 = AGF
Level 2 = No faith assumption
Level 3 = ABF, please stop.
Level 4 = ABF, stop or block.
im/single issue warning = LTA - Generally, I haven't really encountered too much problems with this system. The only problem I have enocuntered is that sometimes, I see an LTA user and give a im warning, and when he vandalise again I report him and they say "not sufficently warned". So, for this situation, I think using single issue "LTA" warning is better. Arctic Kangaroo 09:46, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
FYI
Regarding this edit, I'm pretty sure the IP is Chascharl, trying to avoid being reported for vandalism by logging out. He's been editing disruptively at List of Pair of Kings episodes and started vandalising my comments on the talk page. When I gave him a final warning for that he disappeared and the IP started making the same edits, but with some pretty weird edit summaries. --AussieLegend (✉) 15:46, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

Hey. I've taken a look at this article as it seems to have been the subject of some controversial removal of content and tried to ensure some balance. Looks like the comments the user - who may be the subject of the article - is objecting to were added on 2012-10-20 as the story was emerging and the full details weren't yet in the public domain. I'd appreciate some more sets of eyes on the article just to check - I've explained the rough thrust of my edits on the talk. Ta. Blue Square Thing (talk) 19:12, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
Vandalism Warning
I'd love to know why I was threatened with a ban from Wikipedia when I do not, and never have, contributed any negative or vandalizing content. I assume this is regarding the Talk:Red-lipped_batfish page, for which I obviously had to switch accounts (i.e., log in) in order to remove the vandal comment which was, quite frankly, breaking the talk page. 69.249.227.39 (talk) 06:06, 11 February 2013 (UTC), aka Newms34.

The warning you placed on my talk page
Arctic,
From my understanding, you are allowed to delete content including warning messages from your own talkpage. Check. Mine is a shared IP and lot of people are using this. Unfortunately, some are misusing it too. 58.68.91.114 (talk) 07:10, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- I'm afraid to say that I can't confirm as you have no proof. I also just did a WHOIS check on your IP, but I don't see anything there to make me think you use a shared IP (but I may be wrong as I'm not very good at looking at those kinda thing). Refer to the report here. If you wish to be a constructive long-term contributor to Wikipedia, you may want to consider creating an account so you will not be affected by IP messages/blocks. Arctic Kangaroo 07:16, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
Editing on one's own talk page
An editor is allowed to remove any and all content from their own talk page at their discretion, with a few exceptions. Those exceptions are block notices, sockpuppet notices and the rare placement of CSD or XfD notices. This provision is of course only for one's own talk page and does not extend to article talk pages or other editor's talk pages. See WP:UP. I might add that the above reply to the polite message 58 sent you was a bit WP:POINTy. You need to assume good faith, please! Thanks and happy editing! Gtwfan52 (talk) 07:24, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
Edit warring on British Motorways
Hi Arctic Kangaroo,
I have accepted your edit-warring message, but may I register my disappointment in you taking sides on User talk:212.183.140.26 before you had heard my side of things and while I was still preparing my case. I would have expected more from you.
For the record, I chose to have the discussion on the M25 page as that is the most public British motorway page in Wikipedia.
May I also draw to attention that once the IP-editor signs off, (s)he cannot be contacted again. If you look at the changes made by User:212.183.140.50, User:212.183.140.5 and User:212.183.140.26, you will see that they all have the same look and feel. This is because IP addresses are allocated to them on the fly by the ISP, who in this case is Vodaphone who owns IP addresses 212.183.128.0 - 212.183.144.255. Martinvl (talk) 07:59, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

Stubes99
The below arguments proove unequivocally that Electrofeel is Stubes99:
- Iconoscope was edited before by sock User:Stears81: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Iconoscope&diff=prev&oldid=252753760 (an edit about Kálmán Tihanyi, just like Electrofeel [3]) Stears81 is not blocked, but it is a blatant sock of Stubes99 (the name is almost identical with the name of other socks: User:Stears555)
- Electrofeel writes about Kálmán Tihanyi. Kálmán Tihanyi article was also edited by Stubes99 before: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=K%C3%A1lm%C3%A1n_Tihanyi&action=historysubmit&diff=419092054&oldid=411167634
- Electrofeel edited History of television ([]), which was in the past even protected against Stubes99: [4]
- Last but not least, I (Iaaasi) am the user that reported many socks of Stubes99 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Stubes99/Archive). When I reverted him, he immediately guessed that the IP was mine, even it was a proxy for another country: [5]
I hope now you will finally block him and revert his illegal edit [6]. The article must go to pre-banned users state 187.39.20.115 (talk) 12:46, 20 February 2013 (UTC)
Your comment regarding my editing of Certification Marks
What on earth are you talking about? I removed one line that was demonstrably incorrect. The USPTO does not do ANYTHING to certify goods or services -- they hand out trademarks. Either that one line meant that the USPTO registered the trademark (which is, hey, exactly what their whole purpose is, hence it was a tautology) OR whoever wrote it meant that the USPTO was somehow administering the certifications (which is completely wrong, and in fact is so wrong on so many levels that whoever put it in should be the one you bitch at). 60.248.2.163 (talk) 06:03, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
You're referring to my having REMOVED MY OWN GODDAMN COMMENT FROM THE TALK: page ON THAT ARTICLE.
And the REASON that the fucking Wikipedia server listed my IP address there instead of my ACCOUNT is because the goddamned server treats logins through the SECURE SERVER as being wholly separate from pages edited when using an UNSECURE CONNECTION.

Singaporean product used by global companies to deliver customer support
Arctic Kangaroo,
I've been watching some of the contributions you've done and I think that you have been doing a good job. Have you reviewed the article FocalScope Email Ticketing Solution? It's a Singaporean product which was developed in 2005. It has since then been recognised for "changing the ways emails are being handled" and is being deployed by companies such SingTel, American Express, DHL and Radisson Hotel to deliver their customer support. It's up for discussion, you might find it interesting to participate. Samira Holma (talk) 03:19, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

As I guess you have noticed, I have redirect three articles (Wells Fargo Plaza (Billings), Granite Tower, and Crowne Plaza Hotel Billings) to List of tallest buildings in Billings. I did this because these three articles are redundant forks, and should be merged as per WP:REDUNDANTFORK. A. L. H. 06:20, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
- OK, no problem. I just thought it would be better if we give a more detailed writeup of the buildings. But, your redirects are justified and so I will let this matter go. Arctic Kangaroo 06:29, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
Your dealing with new users could use some improvment
Specifically on this page: Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Dr. Diwakar Tiwari the exchange quoted below:
"This page should not be speedily deleted because... (Dr Diwakar Tiwari is my elder brother, who died in an accident recently.I want to write a page for him on Wikipedia,Please allow me to create the same.) --Santosh Kumar Tiwari 05:53, 24 February 2013 (UTC) In this case, this page can be deleted under speedy deletion crtiteria A7 (unremarkble individual person). Arctic Kangaroo 05:56, 24 February 2013 (UTC)"
Instead of explaining to a new user why their page was going to be deleted, linking to or explaining the actual policy, you threw some shorthand wiki jargon at them. New users cannot be expected to know what you are talking about. Please take the time to at least link the relevant policy to them, especially, as in the case of this fellow, they are clearly struggling to understand what is happening. If you are going to do antivandalism work you need to occasionally put yourself in the shoes of a new user who has no clue about the many and complicated wikipedia policies/guidelines. Thank you. Hi Arctic
Re Alan Jones, I removed teh copy because I did accept that it was in breach, even though it was supplied to me by the write rof it as a template. I'm afraid in my e agerness to get on with the project I pasted it onlinhe when I should have just worke don it locally and then paste dit when i was satisfied. So i don't really want it onlinhe at the moment.
To be quite honest, I am finding Wikipedia confusing and somewhat stressful. Objections seem to fly thick and fast, even to people who may be BLP but are clearly eminent peopel with good references. There seems to be much to learn, but objectors seem to be quick to point out infringements but slow to help newcomers negotiate the intricacies of Wikipedia. ==picknick99== — Preceding unsigned comment added by Picknick99 (talk • contribs) 15:41, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

Message from First Tier
Hey,
I was just on your user page and noticed that you have some contradicting language information that you might want to get sorted. Might have been vandalism but I'm not sure. You have the following contradictions: en fluent, later en-3. en-sg fluent, later en-sg-2. zh fluent, later zh-2.
Best of luck, First Tier (talk) 07:46, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
- Hi First Tier, they was deliberately placed by me. What I meant was, "en", "zh" as well as "en-sg" is language I usually speak. The "2 2 3" thing is my mastery of the language. Cheers, Arctic Kangaroo 10:14, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi Arctic Kangaroo. Thank you very much for the cookie. However, I see that you've gone rather over the top with their distribution. Perhaps it would be better that you focus on more productive areas of the encyclopedia, especially considering recent events? WormTT(talk) 16:18, 17 March 2013 (UTC)

- Hi 8eet, first, I don't see this worthy of a half barnstar. I don't think I did anything that deserves this barnstar. Secondly, I am sorry I can't really help you as I have only created 1 article so far (although I'm planning for another one soon). Perhaps, you may want to direct that question to the Teahouse. Alternatively, you can also place {{helpme}} on your talk page and post your question below that template. Cheers! :) Arctic Kangaroo 14:11, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you this. If you want to create an article, you may want to make a draft and finalise it within your user sandbox. To get there, click the "Sandbox" button in the top right hand corner of your screen. Cheers! :) Arctic Kangaroo 14:14, 20 March 2013 (UTC)

Hello Arctic Kangaroo. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of König infinity lemma, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: redirects are cheap, and that seems a useful one. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 11:12, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

94.254.x.x vandal
Hey there. I saw your report on AIV. For now, I'm not going to take any action, just because a block on the 254 octet would affect up to 32,000 people - I don't think the vandal warrants that level of response.
If you notice further vandalism coming from that range, feel free to let me know and I'll see whether or not it's worth blocking. Cheers, m.o.p 20:35, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
A question?
Hi AK, just wondering how many edits do you make a day? According to your edits counter, you make x times of edits in a week! That is alot!
x=9.6k / 7 months / 4 weeks = approx. 350 edits a week! OMG! That is 3 weeks of work for me! Hz. tiang 02:37, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- Did the edit counter say that? I just went to take a look but don't see anything about that. BTW, User:Ranking Update says that the edit counter is not accurate, so you want to see how many edits you make, look at your Preferences. I think that conversation should still be on his talk page. Arctic Kangaroo 07:17, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
Definitely a lot. I notice your edits typically comprise reverting edits and reporting others... A great way to chalk up a massive amount of edits, but maybe you could try contributing more to content.... Which is what this project is meant for. ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 08:14, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's why if you look through all my contributions, now I am starting to edit the content of some towns in Singapore, some places in Australia etc. I'm also thinking of creating more articles. Just gradually starting, and then I'm also going to try and subscribe to SuggestBot's recemmended list, see what I can help. Arctic Kangaroo 08:17, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- I have admittedly tried to view your "Articles created" list... But it does not load! :( How many have you created? PS: I have duly watch listed your tp, so there's no need for talk backs. ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 08:20, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- Just look at my user page, and you will know what and how many articles I have created. For new articles, I always write them in my sandbox part-by-part. So, you can view my planned/being-written articles there. If you want to add any info to the articles, please inform me on my talk page (if they are still in the sandbox) and if I agree, then feel free to do so. Or, you can wait until I create the article. - I only made 700... I found out afternoon is the best time to revert vandalism. Hz. tiang 09:42, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- Afternoon? At night lah, unless you are talking about UTC time. But even if UTC time, it would be evening and at night. Arctic Kangaroo 16:39, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- That's weird. Last afternoon there was seriously a lot of vandalism... seems to be lesser this afternoon. Hz. tiang 11:24, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
- If you want to see the vandalism levels, just refer to the history of Template:Vandalism Information. You may even want to add it to your user/user talk page. If you want to add it, you may want to take a look at the template's gallery, where you can select a design from tens of versions. To understand this template better, I also suggest that you take a look at my conversation with Vacation9 on his talk page. Arctic Kangaroo 09:46, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

SuggestBot template
Hi,
I noticed you added SuggestBot's config template to User:Arctic Kangaroo/vector.js. Because of the way SuggestBot works, it tries to post the suggestions to that .js page, which it is not allowed to do. If you move the template to a regular subpage, e.g. User:Arctic Kangaroo/Suggestions or here to your talk page, you'll get the suggestions next time they're posted. Jimmy Swaggart Content Removal Explanation.
Hi. With respect to the message you recently left http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Johncheverly#April_2013 , I am at a total loss as to why Mr Swaggart has been lumped in w/ the Jim Bakker/PTL scandal??? Unless you have information that the national news media has failed to uncover for over 25 years, it is completely inaccurate and unfair to lump Swaggart in with the PTL scandal which was over a Ponzi Scheme --overselling timeshares at Heritage USA-- and using ministry funds to pay Jessica Hahn hush money to cover up an alleged rape by Bakker. As the Swaggart article explains in very good detail, Swaggart's issues were basically a pissing contest with Marvin Gorman and adultery with a prostitute/s...Despite his faults, Swaggart had nothing to do with Jim Bakker/PTL. Also, one of the links on the Swaggart article is dodgy: http://www.fmh-child.org/mycatholicfriends.html Some of the stuff on this site comes from Swaggart material, but a lot of it seems to be a bunch of garbage, such as the allegation that Swaggart was seeking out prostitutes because his wife Frances was a lesbian and would not have sex with him. I don't know if you are the article's primary editor, but whoever is can do better. johncheverly 14:55, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- Hi. I'm sorry that I don't really know what is happening about this. I just saw that you removed the template without explanation, so I restored it. But based on the above reasons, I think it would only be reasonable to remove the template and the warning. Arctic Kangaroo 15:01, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- If someone removes a template, the assumption should be either that the underlying issue has been resolved, or that the template was placed improperly in the first place. Why would you restore a template without verifying that the template is valid? If that means studying article content, so be it. - Thanks, Cullen. Please be aware, also, that I slapped the article with a tag several days before I removed the template stating that the template was completely wrong on the Swaggart page. - I would assume you know the topic better. So, what about the remaining content after you have removed some of the content? If it lists years A-Z, then you removed some content to make it A-F, won't it seem odd, perhaps even incomplete? Arctic Kangaroo 17:10, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
- I know, what an excessive list is. But I don't know which exhibitions are important and which not, so i arbitrarily shortened it by year. For me the here and there list is/was Compulsive hoarding. Hi. Could you please tell me why you requested speedy deletion under G7 criteria while the author never requested speedy deletion. Sorry, if I haven't seen the request. See WP:NHD#Re-submitting a page --Ushau97 talk 17:17, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Any particular reason you reverted there? Yes, their addition was unsourced, but I don't see anything in it that would violate WP:BLP. Just that I'd rather we not seem too BITEy. — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 03:50, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
- It's because that's a whole section of unsourced content. Arctic Kangaroo 03:52, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
- But even on a non-PRODded article that wouldn't in itself be grounds for immediate reversion. — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 05:13, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

I explained the change in content regarding the Ignatieff article in my summary and here it is again just in case you didn't read it: "As far as can tell Ignatieff is entitled to an honourable title since he spent his entire time in Parliament in Opposition"220.239.167.151 (talk) 04:24, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Yes, but it is customary not to write the end date of his tenure as long as he is still working as manager. If the date was added, this would mean that his job is already over – that he was sacked or resigned. Same for players. --Jaellee (talk) 16:34, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Tornado info
That tornado info I posted is relevant information that is visible in the sources. Please do not revert it! Thank you. Only trying to improve the quality of the page and depth of the information here. 184.58.26.140 (talk) 04:09, 7 April 2013 (UTC)Sharkguy05
- @Arctic Kangaroo - Most of what he adds is either nonsense or too specific. I was just looking over the edits myself and was getting ready to revert when I saw that you had done it yourself. I'm glad someone else recognizes that "Only trying to improve the quality of the page and depth of the information here" is getting to be a problem of screwing up the flow of the damage descriptions. United States Man (talk) 04:14, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, I don't know the meaning of "asphalt". I just reverted it because I felt that something was not right. Arctic Kangaroo 04:19, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
- "Asphalt" is a type of pavement that is used in this area, along with "concrete". We just use "pavement" so it is easy for everyone to understand. United States Man (talk) 04:24, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, I don't know the meaning of "asphalt". I just reverted it because I felt that something was not right. Arctic Kangaroo 04:19, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
Wait. Too specific? That summary was no more specific than the others. Important details such as when the tornadoes reached peak intensity and what occurred there were left for no reason. It was a confusing passage. You left big gaps in what EF intensity was in certain parts, or the towns they were near or impacted. That is perfectly relevant information directly from the official NWS survey, that deserves a place on wikipedia. Read they surveys please! There is no "flow" being disturbed here. I admit, I thought the fire hydrant thing was in the source posted but it wasn't. Other than that it is all there. Check them yourself please. If you want it to say pavement that is fine though, that is pretty trivial. Sharkguy05 (talk) 04:38, 7 April 2013 (UTC)Sharkguy05

TP reverts
How am I going to keep my vandalism count up to date when you and Solarra are so quick to revert the TP edits! – S. Rich (talk) 04:35, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, Solarra is faster than me on average. I think you use RC Patrol, right? Actually, RC Patrol can also beat us Hugglers to reverting vandalism. It's a sometimes-this-sometimes-that kind of thing. BTW, if you want to use Huggle, you need the Rollback right first. Rollback is an alternative for RC Patrolling (not a software) but Huggle is a software you need to download. You can also use STiki to revert vandalism if you want to. Cheers.

Invite to the African Destubathon
Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:14, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
