Although activity is slower than it once was, anyone is welcome to participate in the project.

Some Wikipedians have formed a task force of WikiProject Georgia (U.S. state) to better organize information in articles related to the Atlanta, Georgia and the Atlanta Metro area. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians.
If you would like to help, please add your name to the List of Participants below, and see what you can do. We'll be happy to have your help!
If you're looking to join the project or for something to do, try the following:
Add your name to the list of participants (optional)
Contribute to an existing article; there is a list of articles below (or click here)
Have a look at this week's collaboration (on the left).
Consider starting with a topic you're familiar with, and working out from there.
Every article in the project has a "to do" list with suggestions and helpful links for that article. If you can think of something the article needs, or have completed one of those tasks, feel free to edit that list!
Be on the lookout for tags such as {{cleanup}} and {{unreferenced}} to guide your contributions.
Start a new article!
There's a list of requests below (or click here).
Be sure to add {{WikiProject Georgia (U.S. state)|class=|importance=|atlanta=yes|atlanta-importance=}} to the talk page.
Add an image to an article!
Check the image requests below and to the left (or click here)...
Or look at project articles for somewhere a picture you've taken might look good.
Image uploading and licensing is difficult, so don't be afraid to ask for help!
If you upload an image you've taken, licensing it under Creative Commonscc-by-2.5 (or a similar license) will reduce the chance that it will be deleted.
cc-by-nc and cc-by-3.0 licenses are considered "unfree";
If you upload an image, you have to swallow the fact that any person or corporation (including the institute) can (and will) use your image.
Add images you upload to Category:Atlanta. If you upload them to Commons, add them to the category on both Commons and Wikipedia. (Yes, you can categorize a Commons image on Wikipedia.)
Districts, Subdistricts, and Neighborhoods: The current format of 'neighborhoods' for Atlanta is confused/inaccurate. Calling Downtown, Midtown, and Buckhead 'neighborhoods' is incorrect. These are large districts, with taxing and zoning authority, and are themselves comprised of smaller districts (such as the Fairlie-Poplar district in Downtown) or neighborhoods/developments. Note, for example, Midtown includes Ansley Park, Home Park, Atlantic Station, SoNO, etc. Buckhead has over 130,000 residents and includes smaller neighborhoods, with their own associations. Someone who knows the city well needs to clean this up.
Add {{WikiProject Georgia (U.S. state)|class=|importance=|atlanta=|atlanta-importance=}} project banner to Atlanta-related articles to talk pages and assess.
Maintain and further improve articles already of high-quality.
This is a list of recognized content, updated weekly by JL-Bot (talk·contribs) (typically on Saturdays). There is no need to edit the list yourself. If an article is missing from the list, make sure it is tagged or categorized (e.g. Category:Atlanta task force articles) correctly and wait for the next update. See WP:RECOG for configuration options.
Here is a list of Atlanta task force members, together with some of their interests. To join the group simply add yourself to the list of participants.
