Welcome to WikiProject Cardiff. Some Wikipedians have formed this collaboration resource and group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of Cardiff and the organisation of information and articles on this topic. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions and various resources; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians interested in the topic.
If you would like to help, please join the project, inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list below.
Introduction
[edit]Scope
[edit]- The project covers all articles about and majorly associated with Cardiff.
Goals
[edit]- Improve Wikipedia's coverage of Cardiff
- Create new articles on all important sub-divisions and places of interest in Cardiff
- Create Portal:Cardiff
- Make Cardiff a featured article
- Add basic data such as population and maps to all sub-divisions of Cardiff
- Add at least one photograph to every sub-division and place of interest in Cardiff
- Possibly create an infobox for places of interest with maps, visitor numbers etc.
- Make History of Cardiff, Culture and recreation in Cardiff, Transport in Cardiff, Economy and industry of Cardiff, Politics in Cardiff and Sport in Cardiff good, and ultimately featured articles
Control and organisation
[edit]On reflection of Wikipedia:WikiProject_Council/Guide/WikiProject#Control_and_organization, it has been decided that the project would benefit from certain members taking the role of co-ordinator. Guidelines also state that co-ordinators cannot be 'forced' on an unwilling WikiProject. If you feel that a co-ordinator system is not working, please bring this up on the talk page where a consensus shall be held. Likewise, if you feel that any co-ordinator, including the lead co-ordinator has shown any kind of misconduct within the project, please bring this up on the talk page, where the other co-ordinators will discuss whether or not to hold a consensus to determine whether or not to remove the user from the position.
Responsibility
[edit]The primary responsibility of any project's coordinators is the maintenance and housekeeping work involved in keeping the project and its internal processes running smoothly. They should generally be regarded as a main point of contact. However, they are not (necessarily) administrators and have no special powers over the project.
Nomination
[edit]When there is a vacant position as a co-ordinator, you may nominate yourself with the outcome based on a consensus, or you may be nominated by a co-ordinator and then it is up to you whether or not to proceed with the consensus to become a co-ordinator.
