Welcome to the Cold War task force, which covers the history of the Cold War. If you have any questions about articles or are generally seeking advice, you're encouraged to ask at the main military history talk page, or you can directly approach one of the task force participants below.

The coordinators of the Military history WikiProject can be contacted here.

Scope

[edit]

This task force covers the period of global military tension that existed between the end of World War II in 1945 until about 1989. The scope includes not only the main confrontation – between the USA/NATO and the USSR/Warsaw Pact countries – but also operations in other theatres, such as South East Asia, and Central and South America, as the superpower protagonists sought to extend their spheres of influence.

Any article related to this task force should be marked by adding Cold-War-task-force=yes or Cold-War=yes to the {{WPMILHIST}} project banner at the top of its talk page (see the project banner instructions for more details on the exact syntax). This will automatically place it into Category:Cold War task force articles.
