Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Yangpeifu and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 15:02, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:WechatIMG1442.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:WechatIMG1442.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:30, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback (Reviewed articles)

[edit]

Dear Yangpeifu,

I have reviewed both of your articles Caobao Road No. 7 Bridge Blockhouse and Draft:CUHK student porn incident.

I enjoyed reading your first article, because you followed the structure, linked the most important terms to other Wikipedia articles and included the pictures of the original article. The same goes for the second article.

What i would recommend would be that you proof read the articles again, because there's still Wikipedia's suggestion to improve grammar, style, cohesion, tone, or spelling.

Furthermore, the "CUHK student porn incident" article is still a draft. To complete the assignment, you should publish it soon. But first, you should implement the suggestions of the other users who have written messages on your talk page, e.g. referencing your article with reliable sources.

Kind regards,

Non-attributed translations

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from zh:林兌 to another page. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. For example: Content in this edit is translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk pages of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, please add attribution retrospectively for that also, even if it was a long time ago. [edit]

Hi Yangpeifu. Thank you for your work on You Mijian. Another editor, Goldsztajn, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Thanks for creating this. Please note, it is necessary to attribute the source when you translate an article from another language Wikipedia.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Goldsztajn}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Goldsztajn (talk) 08:13, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Goldsztajn. Your translation is a good start, but remember that only referenced content will count for course credit. Please add citaions (inline footnotes) to the article. I noticed that the Chinese article does not have any citations - that means you need to verify the content by doing research and adding references to the article. If you do it for the Chinese article, you can get extra credit. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 03:14, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from zh:張文環 to Zhang Wenhuan. Sample wording for this is given here. If you forgot, or were not aware of this requirement, attribution must be given retroactively, for example:

NOTE: Content in the edit of 01:25, January 25, 2023 was translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution.

Retroactive attribution may be added using a dummy edit; see Repairing insufficient attribution.
