An article you recently created, Zhou shuzhen's climate classification, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information icon Thank you for making a report about Iamsanjivk (talk · contribs · block log) at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, it appears that the editor you reported may not have engaged in vandalism, or the user was not sufficiently or appropriately warned. Please note there is a difference between vandalism and unhelpful or misguided edits made in good faith. If the user continues to vandalise after a recent final warning, please re-report it. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Climate campaign

[edit]

Hello- Please stop your current campaign of adding excessive climate sections and overly large tables to articles on towns, especially when they dwarf the rest of the article. These edits disrupt the article layout and are not an improvement to the encyclopedia; you are generating a lot of clean-up work for other editors. Eric talk 11:59, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Eric:This is not a reason for you to remove climate tables in large numbers, your actions constitute a serious act of vandalism. If you persist, you will be banned from future editing. 迷斯拉10032号 (talk) 13:07, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Your assertion regarding vandalism is disingenuous, and will not deceive anyone. Eric talk 13:10, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
When adding these templates, please be sure to add the parameter "width=auto" to them manually, this resolves the whitespace layout issues. Canterbury Tail talk 16:40, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
迷斯拉10032号, just an FYI, WP:VANDALISM spells out (in bold) that "Even if misguided, willfully against consensus, or disruptive, any good faith effort to improve the encyclopedia is not vandalism". It is incorrect to label editing dispute as vandalism. OhanaUnitedTalk page 01:36, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging user pages

I asked you 11 days ago here to leave tagging user pages for administrators and SPI clerks, also saying that there is a difference between being blocked and banned. Since you thanked me, I assumed you got the message. However, you just tagged วิรัตน์ มังคลัง ‎as banned when they are just blocked. This is incorrect. Please remove that tag and stop tagging user pages. If you want a user page to be tagged, talk to the blocking administrator or ask at the SPI clerks' noticeboard. Climate

[edit]

You're really not making any friends with your edits and calling other users disruptive. No matter what you think, the onus is on the person adding the information to get consensus for it's inclusion, and if you are reverted to discuss not to re-apply the edit and revert it back, that's edit warring and will not help your case. Anyway as a way to help you, please make sure you add the following lines into the top of the Weather template each time you add it. It will ensure that it doesn't take up a ridiculous amount of space and will alleviate many of the objections of people.

|width = auto
|collapsed = true

Thanks. Canterbury Tail talk 18:48, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Once again, I am criticizing and warning you about some of your recent indiscretion on Wikipedia.
First of all, you are involved in various disturbing behaviors in the climate class template, I don't know what you are doing? Whether it's because of the number of edits to achieve some kind of privilege, or because of your paranoid mindset, some of the editing actions you've described above are not doing any good for the Wikipedia environment. Second, when arguing about the above, you also recruit meatpuppet to try to trick some uninformed into thinking that there are many people on your side. Your participation in WP space regarding vandals/socks

[edit]

I've lately noticed that you've been filing reports at the Admin Noticeboard, MfD and such requesting blocks/bans, CBANS or page deletions for long gone vandals and sockpuppets. Per WP:DENY and because many of the vandals you report are long gone and likely won't return, I strongly advise you against doing this in the future. Plus, many of the nominations are borderline incomprehensible (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Miscellany_for_deletion/User:Drummetana being an example.) Also, I've seen that you were reporting cross wiki socks in enwiki based of non-enwiki evidence - please don't do that in the future; m:SRG is a better venue for reporting cross wiki socking. Plus, when you see a vandal/troll/spammer causing more problem after they gets blocked please contact the blocking admin instead of going to a noticeboard if the problem persists. — Prodraxis {talkcontribs} (she/her) 17:38, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • I second this. Please don't submit community ban requests unless a user has continued to be a problem. The point of a ban (and a block) is not punitive, but it's to protect the encyclopedia. A long-gone user is not a threat to the encyclopedia. You really ought to abide by this... if you don't, you might end up getting blocked or banned yourself. -- RockstoneSend me a message! 21:35, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Fumikas Sagisavas, I noticed you reported a spammer's talk page access to be revoked at ANI after I posted this message [1]. In this case contacting Materialscientist (the blocking admin, in this case) or any other recently active admin would've been a good idea instead. — Prodraxis {talkcontribs} (she/her) 02:30, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: User:Ankitmishra76

[edit]

Hello Fumikas Sagisavas. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:Ankitmishra76, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Meh, it's some newby typing teh random stuff on their userpage. My guess is they probably won't edit again. If they do, then let's see what happens. Thank you. Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 11:00, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Korbism

[edit]

Ref Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/KorbismBiggestFan I'm sure I've seen this before. Apart from the ip editing on one of the articles I can't see anything. If I remember I will add to the SPI. Thanks, Knitsey (talk) 12:29, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

They've added their other accounts now. I knew I'd seen this nonsense before. Knitsey (talk) 12:49, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Missile attack hoax

[edit]

Hi! I’ve now posted the reason on the talk page (I got distracted while drafting by some other WikiTask). Please read it before removing the tag again.

Also, please don’t use Twinkle to do that (I believe you’re supposed to leave an explanation when doing a TW revert if it’s not clear vandalism) without at least checking whether it might in fact be a hoax.

RadioactiveBoulevardier (talk) 13:09, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unless it's a blatant scam, it's best to discuss it with the AFD before making a decision. In addition, this article seems to meet the conditions for G5 to delete quickly. Fumikas Sagisavas (talk) 13:12, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You’re right, WP:DWHOAX says to reserve it for “the moon is made of green cheese” level of obvious.
But if it meets G5, which I think it does, it should be terminated with prejudice.
Cheers, RadioactiveBoulevardier (talk) 13:55, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Considering the warnings you get above, and I believe you have to stop and read policies on this project for a while. When updating the climate data like this you need to do two other things. Go to https://archive.org/ and click on the Web tab. Then enter in the url in the save box. If you don't then you get this error.

After that add "url-stats=live", like this, otherwise readers are directed to the archive site rather than the current site. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (solidly non-human), Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 17:29, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
