Is now good for digging garden --Between Blue and Green (talk) 06:16, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Between Blue and Green, Wikipedia is not a forum. If you want to talk about gardening I bet there are other Internet communities that you can participate in. Best, ~delta (talkcont) 16:58, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:49, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for improving articles in November! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:35, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I uploaded pics of a trip that was a 10-day celebration of a 16 November event, but the day was also when a dear friend died. We sang Hevenu shalom aleichem at his funeral yesterday, and it was good. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:54, 30 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@I-beam: Hello, welcome to Wikipedia! Feel free to take a look around the Wikipedia Policies and Guidelines page as well as the guide for writing for your first article or basic copyediting to get yourself started. For stuff that needs to be worked on please take a look at the Task center for that. Question from I-beam (01:46, 25 November 2024)

[edit]

Does the English Wikipedia allow UK spellings such as organisation? --I-beam (talk) 01:46, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Regarding that, the Wikipedia Manual of Style states that British English is allowed on articles that have strong national ties to the UK, and likewise with the USA and American English, Australia and Australian English etc. For instance, an article about God Save the King would use British English while the Star-Spangled Banner would use American English. Best, ~delta (talkcont) 12:33, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Got it, thank you! I-beam (talk) 16:55, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
