Welcome to the 2024 WikiCup!

Happy New Year and Happy New WikiCup! The 2024 competition has just begun and all article creators, expanders, improvers and reviewers are welcome to take part. Even if you are a novice editor you should be able to advance to at least the second round, improving your editing skills as you go. If you have already signed up, your submissions page can be found here. If you have not yet signed up, you can add your name here and the judges will set up your submissions page ready for you to take part. Any questions on the scoring, rules or anything else should be directed to one of the judges, or posted to the WikiCup talk page. Signups will close on 31 January, and the first round will end on 26 February; the 64 highest scorers at that time will move on to round 2. The judges for the WikiCup this year are: Cwmhiraeth (talk · contribs · email), Epicgenius (talk · contribs · email), and Frostly (talk · contribs · email). Good luck! Question from Ekhoury mich (20:44, 3 January 2024)

Can you explain why they denied my recent edit of Jeff Monson's page? --Ekhoury mich (talk) 20:44, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

@Ekhoury mich: Hi, looks like a Cluebot NG false positive to me. Cluebot NG is an automated program that reverts edits which get flagged as vandalism from users, but what you added was not vandalism. Most of the time, it is accurate, but sometimes it makes false positive reverts. Prodraxis (talk) 20:48, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

A goat for you!

Thanks for your contributions. Please enjoy with this goat because I like it! It's my goat.

DYK for Haewoojae

On 9 January 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Haewoojae, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that sculptures of defecating people are displayed in the park surrounding Haewoojae? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Haewoojae. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Haewoojae), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Question from Danrobb211 (06:58, 12 January 2024)

Hi Prodraxis. Great to know I have a mentor and its nice to e-meet you. I have found it fairly easy to edit so far. Everything from tanks, to student volunteers to books. I will definitely reach out when I have questions. Thanks again. --Danrobb211 (talk) 06:58, 12 January 2024 (UTC)

@Danrobb211: No problem! Feel free to ask me any questions about editing anytime. Best, Prodraxis (talk) 12:00, 12 January 2024 (UTC)

Copyright AISINGSEECHAN1 (talk) 11:12, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

@AISINGSEECHAN1: Can you please specify what you are asking me about? Are you asking me about the copyright policy of Wikipedia? If so, the page can be found here. I'm admittedly not the best person to ask about copyright policy as I don't know very much about it - perhaps other editors like Diannaa or Red-tailed hawk can answer your questions regarding it. Question from BenElchonen (21:51, 15 January 2024)

Hi, I want to add a article about vitaltransformation.org, do you recommend writing it with chatgpt? --BenElchonen (talk) 21:51, 15 January 2024 (UTC)

@BenElchonen: Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Per our guidelines, use of ChatGPT or other LLMs are highly discouraged on Wikipedia. However, you can still write an article as long as the subject matter is notable - you can do so by using this page. Regards, Prodraxis (talk) 03:08, 16 January 2024 (UTC)

Question from Notsayingmyname (07:37, 23 January 2024)

I am of to find out how to properly edit bye --Notsayingmyname (talk) 07:37, 23 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi! If you want to learn how to edit, please take a look at Help:Editing as well as our policies and guidelines pages. However, I've noticed that some of the edits you've made have been reverted because they have introduced grammatical errors. Since you don't appear to be a native English speaker from what I can see, I can direct you to a Wikipedia in your native language if you wish to. Username reporting

Hi, in most cases a username should only be reported to UAA if it has edited recently(last 2-3 weeks). Some exceptions would be particularly vulgar or offensive usernames- but "thiswebsitereallysucks" probably isn't so. 331dot (talk) 12:44, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
