Unsure if you meant to tag me

[edit]

I see you've emended an edit which pinged me at Talk:Nuseirat refugee camp. I'm not sure what you meant by refusal to add the reference, or what might have been protected. In my case, I don't much edit I/P articles, and hadn't noticed the proposal to add coverage of the airstrike mentioned. Dsp13 (talk) 08:44, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I've mistaken. I had edited it my sentence. Natsuikomin (talk) 09:38, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. I still don't know if you're right that anyone has deliberately decided not to include the reference. It seems possible it's just not been looked at. Dsp13 (talk) 09:42, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In English Wikipedia, even small vandalism is sometimes quickly noticed by other editors. And how can I expect that a formal, sincere request wouldn't be? I don't think so. Even if you're correct, now it's been a few months after. Natsuikomin (talk) 10:59, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contribution(s). However, as a general rule, while user talk pages permit a small degree of generalisation, other talk pages such as Talk:Jesus are strictly for discussing improvements to their associated main pages, and many of them have special instructions on the top. They are not a general discussion forum about the article's topic or any other topic. If you have questions or ideas and are not sure where to post them, consider asking at the Teahouse. Thanks. Doug Weller talk 09:39, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, I was talking about the infobox there. So, yeah, you knew it. Natsuikomin (talk) 10:49, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Read what you wrote on the page again, not the infobox comment. Doug Weller talk 11:18, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, and I remember there's a modified history that is considered trusted reference on the note within the infobox as well. So, yeah, two bad things, but many only care about one of the two. Natsuikomin (talk) 12:02, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I think it's enough. I stop. Thanks for reminding me. Natsuikomin (talk) 23:20, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion at Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents

[edit]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is Harassment at page "Anies Baswedan". Thank you. NebY (talk) 19:41, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Although you (NebY) tried to defend the false information without even bothering to verify the source, I thanked Floquenbeam for blocking Asphonixm because the user has made a defamatory edit (defamatory here means false information). Thanks. Natsuikomin (talk) 23:22, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I assume the IP comment written in Indonesian here User talk:Asphonixm is from you since it was phrased as coming from the person falsely accused. Since the talk page is already confusing enough, can you re-sign the comment under your user name rather than under an IP. If you forgot to log in and don't want to reveal your IP, please see WP:Oversight as you are able to request suppression in such cases but will need to re-sign the comment first otherwise it's pointless. Anyone with a basic understanding of Indonesian or Malay, or I suspect anyone who sticks it in machine translation is likely to figure you wrote it. Nil Einne (talk) 13:38, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh and if it's not you, feel free to delete that comment, or I will. I assume you agree with my interpretation that it's clearly written as if it was the person falsely accused i.e. you who wrote it. And whatever the motives of whoever wrote that, I don't think it helps anyone to have impersonation in the mix. Nil Einne (talk) 13:50, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not attack other editors, as you did at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. --Yamla (talk) 10:43, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, correct. I was trying to stay cool. That's also why I said good bye to those (allegedly controlled by only one person) user. Thanks for overseeing things here. Natsuikomin (talk) 10:47, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you make personal attacks on other people, as you did at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard. Comment on content, not on fellow editors. --Yamla (talk) 11:19, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's too easy to threat other people without understanding the context of the problem, moreover when you have the authority to implement it. I was thinking that ip address was used by the same 2 ip addresses that previously had been blocked by sysops. And I did so-called personal attacks not purely to attack him, but instead to make him silent because disruptive edits made by the 2 ip addresses weren't cool in my opinion (I did it twice to the real blocked IPs [User talk:42.200.20.68: Difference between revisions - Wikipedia here] and here).
The second attack has been reverted by myself. But, surprisingly 86.23.109.101 mentioned it again on WP:AN. At first I thought, anyone who know exactly that edit of mine was the one who used the ip addresses (that has been blocked, you can check it). So, stop easily threatening other people as if it would resolve any problems that bother your mind. That's also disruptive to the environment of Wikipedia editing activities. Natsuikomin (talk) 12:03, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
None of this excuses your personal attacks. --Yamla (talk) 12:05, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I was trying to silence the blocked IPs, not to make an excuse on my own talk page, thanks. I'll stop responding to this topic here. Natsuikomin (talk) 13:22, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've re-closed the discussion but I'll reiterate what I said in the close. You're really fortunate that you weren't blocked for repeated personal attacks; and your justification that you were trying to silence a blocked IP actually makes it worse. Wikipedia:Civility is a pillar. Wikipedia:No personal attacks is a policy. Please read them carefully and consider how you interact with others going forward. Hello, Natsuikomin,
Editing logged out reveals your location to any interested editor. So it is better to edit logged into your registered account. Do not log out to write provocative messages on other editor's talk pages. Liz Read! Talk! 00:24, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
