I'd like to use Image:Prometheus Logo.jpg. Could you undelete it and let me add the FU template? --evrik (talk) 15:54, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi, can I ask why the image on that page was deleted? For An Angel (talk) 22:02, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
- The author, User:Matthew, wished that it'd be deleted (see applicable policy). Maxim(talk) 23:02, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Image deletion
Could you please halt the deletion of images until this issue can be resolved? While I appreciate Matthew's wish to disassociate himself from the images, there is no reason why others cannot take on the declarations. Unfortunately, what is happening now is that we're losing key images from numerous articles without any warning. --Ckatzchatspy 23:21, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you - again, I mean no disrespect to Matthew's wishes; it is unfortunate that he has reduced his involvement with Wikipedia, but that is his right. I'd like to find a way to accommodate his request and still retain the television images, given that they are not personal images. (I'm open to suggestions, BTW.) --Ckatzchatspy 23:32, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
- Exactly, technically speaking, he's not the author, he's just the uploader. For An Angel (talk) 03:40, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- He wishes to disassociate himself from the images. He claimed fair use on them, and in a deletion-policy-talking-way, if you wish to go by the letter of the policy (not the spirit, which clearly makes Matthew the author IMHO), he is the author in the sense that he can ask for them to be deleted under this speedy deletion criterion. Maxim(talk) 14:24, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Deletion of Talk:New World Order (conspiracy)
On November 3, 2007, you deleted the archived talk page. The corresponding article that you missed is New World Order (conspiracy theory). The article was moved after the talk page was archived. You should have moved the talk page instead of deleting it. Is there a way it can be brought back? --Pwnage8 (talk) 16:39, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- I've searched my logs and the article's logs and I don't seem to have done anything. See [1]. I can undelete pages if need be, but I there's no page to undelete for me now. Maxim(talk) 20:24, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
23:56, 10 January 2008 Maxim (Talk | contribs) deleted "Image:DPVScreenFormat.png"
Maxim,
The two pictures you deleted were screen caps of which I was the author. Screen caps have a history of authorized usage on Wikipedia, and the only problem that I can tell was that the two images you removed lacked a detailed rationale on its image description (which seemed pretty obvious, IMHO) beyond simply being tagged as 'Fair use'. Let's bring these back.
- Will you add a rationale if restore them? I'll also need the name of the second picture. ;-) If you need help, see WP:FURG and {{Non-free media rationale}}. Maxim(talk) 20:21, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
Sure. As to the name of the second picture however, it was probably along the lines of "DPVAboutBox.png". I hope this is referenced in the History log somewhere, because I can't recall the exact name. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dhodgson (talk • contribs) 10:59, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

MY RFA!
Hi there Maxim!
No, I don't take it personally. My admin buddy warned me about this but I know I can always re-apply in a few months. I don't have much experience with those tools you showed me but because of this, I can now take one giant step closer to becoming an admin.
I need to start creating userboxes with things that say "This user is friends with _________"
Thanks for closing. I was already laughing that I was already 0 for 11. I wonder how many it would've taken to get a neutral at the least.
Once again, thanks a lot for even LOOKING at my RFA. I'm just happy people voted. HPJoker Leave me a message 17:09, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Hebrew Labor article
wikipedia Israel Project has a request for a "Hebrew Labor" page. When I went to start one, it said there that you deleted the old one. What was the reason?? I looked for similar pages and found only Labor Zionism. There is no point making another page if it is just going to be deleted. I couldn't find records for the old one, but that just may be me. Best if you can reply by email (news(at)mideastweb.org) but I will check my talk page & watch this one too. Mewnews (talk) 10:50, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- Can you give me the exact name of the page, please? Otherwise, I can't tell why I deleted it and what was in that page. Maxim(talk) 12:44, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi Maxim. Just a quick note to help avoid anything like what happened last time. I've finished looking through Category:Disputed non-free images as of 15 January 2008, and I have a list of images I will work on at leisure. Probably best to wait until that deadline expires before anyone starts deleting, but just thought you'd like to know. Carcharoth (talk) 21:58, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- OK. I'm probably not going to do it tonight, I don't feel like deleting stuff after today's incident. Maxim(talk) 22:04, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

An undelete
Regarding this undeletion - please reconsider and delete. The reason it was listed as CSD U1 is to avoid conspicuousness as it is in fact a deletion performed in good faith under m:RTV. It would be greatly appreciated if you could fix this up and delete the page again. Cheers 203.184.44.250 (talk) 14:38, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

- RTV doesn't cover that, and it would be better if a record of that RfA be kept. Maxim(talk) 15:58, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- RTV does explicitly cover that - "... is that contributors leaving a project permanently may have any personal contributions unrelated to the core mission of the project removed." This is a threat to my personal safety, this user name needs to be null and void and keeping this RfA exposes me to harrassment or worse. Please, it's not helping anyone, the account is dead and no-one cares other than myself. Regards, 203.184.44.250 (talk) 02:11, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- It is a big deal deleting a project page citing rtv. Could you please email me telling me exactly why it's a threat to your personal safety? I see nothing that could identify you in real life (either name, or location) and I will look at it further. Ryan Postlethwaite 21:45, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- It wasn't a matter of identification of myself personally, that was already known by the "threatening individual". What did matter is that this RfA was not visible to a quick google search. Links with my old user name (at least obvious ones) pertaining particularly to this RfA are the problem. I've moved said page to here which means it will be less visible. It would be greatly appreciated if revisions made by my new user could be deleted (accidental). Thanks, 203.184.44.250 (talk) 03:16, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

looking for a re-up
hey deletion review sez to check with the deleting guy/gal so i'm looking for someone to re-up Image:BDPByAllMeans.jpg so i can rationale it for use on By All Means Necessary (album). as well as being the sole illustrative nonfree img type thingy there, the cover echoes Image:Malcomxm1carbine3gr.gif and is demonstrative of a move towards black radicalism in both the band's career and popular hip hop in this period as per numerous sources such as [[[Jeff Chang]] in Can't Stop, Won't Stop: A History of the Hip-Hop Generation, New York: St. Martin's Press. 2005. lil' help? :) 86.44.6.14 (talk) 21:40, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

- Got your mail, thanks. Okay, well no worries, come back to it when you like. As for looking at other articles, I tend to prefer to review articles on a standalone basis. I feel that a lot of articles get promoted based on a "template" and when a new editor (i.e. me) turn up and cause a kerfuffle, it's usually a good thing for Wikipedia! Anyway, take it easy, all the best. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:47, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Oh Maxim!!
Remember how you restored the images of Chomper and Ruby so I could fix them? Well, in case you didn't read it, after that had been done, I found that the image of Chomper didn't look right, so I told you. Just now, however, I found that the right image had been reuploaded, so I saved it to my harddrive, and uploaded it again to the other image file in his article - the one I had uploaded. It has a fair use rationale, summary, and licensing to go by now, so everything's settled! Since the other image has been tagged as an orphan already, you may as well delete it. You can only imagine how much all your help and effort for this project means to me! The articles for Chomper and Ruby didn't look right without those images there. Wilhelmina Will (talk) 01:55, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- What image do you want me to delete? I'm never going to remember those images, as I delete so many... just plz give me the link to it. Maxim(talk) 01:59, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Image:Chomper.jpg. I'd leave a link to it, but if I do then it'll probably just display the image in the file, here, until it is deleted. You can copy the name and paste it in the search engine, then delete it. Sorry for that extra trouble! Wilhelmina Will (talk) 02:02, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- Deleted. PS. it's not much trouble, really. You're polite, understanding and patient. That means very much to me, makes the "job" go much smoother. Maxim(talk) 02:06, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
I'm polite? Really? That's good news; I'm usually a little nervous about my sociability. Anyway, I'm glad it wasn't much trouble; not being an administrator, myself, I really don't know much about the process of deleting images; just the process of saving those in danger of being deleted. Thanks again! Wilhelmina Will (talk) 02:16, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
still waiting for a re-up
Maxim, I'm still waiting for you to repost the two images we discussed on the Deluxe Paint page so I can add the (obvious) screen-cap fair-use rationale you requested. Please send me an email if you could when this is done so that I don't have to log in every day checking for this: RockIsland@iname.com http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deluxe_Paint —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dhodgson (talk • contribs) 22:02, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- I will need the exact name of both images. You didn't give them to me last time. The bot archived your post. Maxim(talk) 21:29, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Maxim, the images that you deleted were almost certainly the top two items from the following list. I am surprised to hear that you do not keep record of your own deletions in case you make a mistake. If not for the help of another user which did a little records-searching for me, I might not have been able to answer this question. Taken as an analogy, if I had dented your fender the responsibility of identifying a replacement part would be mine. Please notify me by email when this has been done and restore the page to its former self, thanks.

- I realize this can be a frustrating process, but you must realize that as per Wikipedia policies, the missing rationales are what damage the fenders of our images to the extent that they are dangerous, and Maxim is only the guy who must take them off the road. We must be our own panel beaters, I'm afraid. 86.44.6.14 (talk) 08:22, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

- Replied via e-mail. Images restored. Maxim(talk) 14:42, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Maxim, I've repaired the page that the images are on. Could you provide clarification as to what information was missing, exactly, from the image rationales that were there already? I've compared the image rationales for two images you deleted against the Adobe Photoshop and Windows Vista screen captures and they're very similar. If those images are also in error, (and you just haven't gotten around to deleting them yet) could you point me to an example of a screen cap image that is described correctly? I do not want to have to go through this process again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dhodgson (talk • contribs) 00:36, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
- You fixed them all, it's a matter of including the name of the article that the image is used in, per WP:NFCC#10c. They're all fine. BTW, can you please sign your posts? Maxim(talk) 12:59, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Update WikiBreak Enforcer
Hi, I noticed you were the one who protected WikiBreak Enforcer page, so I wanted to ask if you could update the script to this version (tested), because the current version has ~15 lines that make no sense. Thanks. --grawity talk / PGP 12:31, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- Done :-) for future reference, you can use {{editprotected}}; I'm usually not available at 12:30 UTC. :-( Maxim(talk) 22:13, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. I live in +0200, and couldn't find your timezone, and this wasn't very urgent.
- P.S. You also added the comment telling how to bypass the script :) (comments in JS start with //)
- P.S.2. Would it be possible for me to get editing rights on that page? --grawity talk / PGP 06:51, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think it's too big of a deal if there are instructions on how to bypass it, no? ;-) For your second Q, to be able to edit that page would require you being an administrator. I suggest sticking to using {{editprotected}} on the talkpage.Maxim(talk) 14:44, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
I was wondering, is the protection on the wikibreak enforcer page indefinite, and if so should it be listed on Wikipedia:List of indefinitely protected pages? I also wasn't aware of a vandalism problem with the page - has there been vandalism that does not appear in the edit history? Thanks! Mike1024 (t/c) 15:24, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
- I usually avoid listing pages for such reasons because I feel it's bureaucratic, and I personally hate bureaucracy. There has been no vandalism, but it's a high-risk page, as someone could meddle with the javascript and cause huge damage. Now, we really don't need that to happen. ;-) Maxim(talk) 15:27, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Hey Maxim, I'd like to respectfully ask you to reconsider promoting your own nom of Art Berglund to the Template:Did you know/Next update. It looks better for the sake of fairness and transparency to allow an objective party promote your noms. Similar request in the past have been made to other editors who have promoted their own noms and its best for everyone to be treated on equal footing. There are still a couple days before it expire and there is good chance that it would still be promoted by an objective editor. Thanks for you time and consideration. Help Wiki
Hi, I'm not sure if you know this already but Help Wiki was shutdown and at my request AGK has given me the xml data for all the pages so we don't loose our hard work. At the moment I'm still thinking over what to do with the content but I think incorporating it back into Wikipedia is the way to go. Unfortunately I don't think the CC license used is compatible with the GNUFDL(its the no commercial restriction in the CC license that is the problem). HHOF
Hi Maxim - as you've noticed, I've copy-edited and commented extensively on the HHOF article at FAC. While I've done some drive-by copy editing of FACs before, it's the first time I've looked this deeply at an article. I'd appreciate some feedback on how I have handled myself. Am I being excessive or appropriate in my comments? I don't want to demoralize the nominator, but at the same time I see some important structural problems with this article. I'm kind of hoping that if I show I'm willing to do some of the heavy lifting (i.e. copy editing), that s/he won't take it as a personal affront. Risker (talk) 16:57, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm a bit stressed out by stuff right now, due to some things, so I feel even more overwhelmed by the comments... On second thought, though, I think it's great, but I'll take some time to fix them. Also, Scorpion has all the important sources, so he'll be around soon. :-) Maxim(talk) 17:02, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hey Maxim, that discussion got a little too heated for my liking. I hope you're not too blown away by it, as I said there, it's simple for me - just let your own noms run their course, it can't do any harm. CrzyCheetah's outburst seems a little extreme to me, and opposing a perfectly valid article on personal grounds isn't valid. I hope you're not too stressed out and can get the hall of fame article up to FA. Let me know if you need any help on the way! All the best. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:12, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- Actually it strikes me that it's been a pretty good day for you, when you step back and take the long view. Another FL (congrats!), the HHOF article seems to be heading in the right direction (heck, if Tony1 is reduced to pointing out one area of improvement at a time, then you're doing very well), and the hockey game is on. Sure, I'd be more than happy to pitch in there. There's no doubt Plante was, as Dryden says, an important goalie. One issue that is likely to come up at FAC is that the article is largely sourced to a single book. If some of the same facts can be sourced to other reference works, it gives the impression that the article is a broad overview of the subject, rather than a summation of a single book. Plante's important enough that a lot of relevant facts about him should be available in more general works about the Canadiens and about goaltending. Got anything on your bookshelf? I'll check out the local library as well. I'm also thinking that the "mask" stuff could be played up even more than it is now. IIRC, there was one of those "Canadian History Minutes" (or whatever they were called) featuring this story, and it was played on-air for a couple of years. (Sorry, showing my age here, please bear with me.)
Some discussion of the Canadiens dynasty and the general hockey milieu of that era might also be helpful, and flesh out the article a bit more; today's readers would be shocked to hear of a top-flight goalie being sent to the minors for knee problems, for example; and the connection with Molson's and the Canadiens might be useful to discuss a bit, as it seems almost every ex-Canadien worked for Molson's post-hockey.
Do you have a specific timeline for putting the article up for FAC? I'm asking for two reasons, the first being that FAC is overloaded right now and the article might just sit there for weeks without any opinions at all. Second, while I can give it a combing through over the next couple of days, and perhaps get a bit of research in, I'll be out of town for a week starting Friday and won't be able to do anything more than drive-by edits while away. Perhaps a target of 3-4 weeks? Risker (talk) 16:00, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Reduce protection
Hello, Maxim! Regarding the full-protection on {{NHL}}, WP:RUP stated to ask the protecting admin first, so here I am. I was wondering if the protection can be downgraded to semi- rather than full-protection. My reasoning is that the edit history does not show any edit wars or vandalism so the template was never subject to abuse, and protection was not discussed on the talk page. Regards. --Old Hoss (talk) 18:26, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

The Q
Maxim, I think you may have misunderstood the point of the thread. It's not about whether the unblock was justified or not. It's about the fact that you didn't talk about it. The block had broad support on AN/I. You made no comment there and you made no comment to me. Further, the last time Mikka was unblocked, it was also done by you, which makes things appear suspect.
So the question: will you admit that you should have discussed your action? And if you unblock again, will you seek out the blocking administrator? That's all that's being asked. No one would take you to a further dispute resolution forum for a single unblock. But suggesting that you will ignore our policy on the matter is another story. Marskell (talk) 12:54, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- No, I will not admit I should have discussed my actions and I don't promise to seek out the blocking admin next time. The block's preventative, Mikka provided a satisfactory explanation with the use of {{unblock}} and I unblocked. I happen to have unblocked Mikka once before, but it was a set of completely different circumstances. Finally, if an admin can't reverse a simple block without a two-day discussion at ANI, that's a grave concern to me. Maxim(talk) 12:57, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- I also suggest reading m:Exopedianism to explain Mikka's behaviour. Maxim(talk) 13:04, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Well, "No, I will not admit I should have discussed my actions" is a grave concern to me, so perhaps this should be taken to another forum. Admins can't wheel war, Maxim, which is what you are inviting. Marskell (talk) 13:01, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Marskell, this block would have expired ages ago, instead Mikka provided a satisfactory explanation and I unblocked. What's the point, then, of {{unblock}} if one has to wait around for hours over a simple civility block that's supposed to be preventive? Maxim(talk) 13:04, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm also disgusted that you tried to have Carcharoth and Georgewilliamherbert give me your message by proxy. I wiped out the previous messages because it contained a bunch of unfounded threats, and frankly it was an eyesore, your posts included full of pointless sarcasm. Maxim(talk) 13:06, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- You wouldn't have had to wait around hours. You would have had to wait approximately three minutes, while I drafted a response. I was active and talking about it. Given that the majority favoured the block, discussion was required. You see at the top of this page, where an admin pinged you about protection levels? That's how we should deal with one another—by discussing before undoing good faith action.
- Exopedianism does not excuse incivility. Marskell (talk) 13:10, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

- What, be bold and wheel war over a block? Of course not. See Wikipedia:Wheel war. I hope you don't ignore this policy along with WP:BLOCK. Marskell (talk) 13:19, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- If every reversal of an admin action is wheel-warring and punishable by desysoping (I mean punishable here), then you'd pretty every admin that's made reversing actions. Maxim(talk) 13:21, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- No one would desysop over a single action. It's your lack of admittance that this is a problem that's at issue. But I've already said that, so we're officially going in circles. If you'd like to ignore policy, far be it from me to criticize. Marskell (talk) 13:40, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, and I missed one thing: I asked others to comment only because it's sometimes better to have a third party do so. There was no bad intent—I asked people publically, for a reason. Marskell (talk) 13:45, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

- I'm sure you were trying to help, but so was I. Can we agree on that? Maxim(talk) 13:56, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Insofar as I should AGF, I can agree you were trying to help. But I don't think it was helpful. (Hope you follow the difference.) Ultimately, the serious concerns that have emerged recently about Mikka's behaviour are of greater importance than this secondary issue. Part of the problem with unblocks of this sort is that they can be seen to sanction the initial incivility that gave rise to them.
- Anyway, I cannot make you read and follow the blocking policy—but it would be in your own interest to do so. Marskell (talk) 14:15, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Have raided the local library to get some more references for this article, and will be in a position to start working on it over the next few days, if you are still interested. Something I found useful to do when working on existing articles is to take relevant chunks over to a userpage to work on then "merge" them into the existing article when ready; for me, that's required admin assistance, but since you're an admin, it shouldn't be an issue. Are you interested in trying that? Risker (talk) 07:04, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Apology accepted, thank you
Maxim, I believe your recent post to me was honest and I am happy to receive it! I think, for your sake and for mine, it's good that we have an understanding. We're both admins—we should avoid friction, because conflict between admins is seriously harmful to the project.
So, I really appreciate your post to me today. I'm glad you've undertaken to read the blocking policy and accept your word that you'll be more attentive to it in future. I may have seemed pert, annoyed, or aggressive, when I first posted to you about the block. It's human nature that that aggressiveness made you defensive... I really do respect the fact that you've taken a few days to think about it, and have posted to me.
Finally, Maxim, if you can talk to Mikka, please try to do so. No one wishes him ill. Everyone wants him to continue his great contributions to Wikipedia. If you can help this editor get back on track, I know many will support you. Where his behaviour is wrong, we must tell him so. Where we can help him, we should help him.
Anyhow, as far as you and I go, I consider the issue done. Cheers, Marskell (talk) 22:19, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Full protection of Diplomatic reaction to the 2008 Kosovo declaration of independence
Hello Maxim. Could you please reconsider your full protection of this article? Your action was adequate of course, however this article is very important at this time, as it lists countries that are recognizing Kosovo's independence and those recognitions are coming at a daily basis. Wikipedia mustn't be so many days without an update of those recognitions. Please consider restoring semi-protection. The edit wars affecting sections of this article should not compromise its entire content, and could therefore be dealt with warnings and blocks of the warring users (3rr, disruption, etc.). Diplomatic reaction to 2008 Kosovo declaration of independence protection - thank you!
Thank you so much, for coming to the rescue and protecting the article. I made thoughtful improvements, reflecting suggestions made by a number of editors on the article's talk page, as well as augmented the lead and made it conform to the Wikipedia Manual of Style, emboldening the definition and the like, and was inserting superscripted references to sources, when Mr. Avala (who is an administrator on the Serb Wikipedia, and should know better), commenced crypto-reverting all that work of mine, but not only mine. If you look carefully at the history of the last edits, you will see, that apart from undoing my work without any description of edits, an undoing which was unjustified, he summarily removed major changes by at least 3 other editors pertaining to his own inefficacy of listing Cuba (Mr. Avala chose to document that with a reference to a Fidel Castro's rant about Javier Solana, not any official issue of the Cuban government - please see talk page for details) and the inclusion of a government in exile by the ethnic-clensing Serbians in Croatia's Kraina region (again, see the talk page). I was not the editor who removed those questionable items, and in the case of the Kraina government in exile, I did not even participate in the heated discussion that took place among the natives of the region on the talk page. In any case, my last edits were returning my text and adding sources, precisely what Mr. Avala was demanding, yet not making possible, by wholesale reverting the article, thus removing the sources together with the text they were sourcing. Just as you stepped in, he reached his 3 reverts quota. I suppose you saved him from breaking 3RR today, unlike the previous few days. (Mr. Avala justifies his multiple reverting by claiming that he is undoing vandalism.) Again, thank you for stepping in, and may I add, that administrator oversight of this article has been sorely lacking for the past several days. Best Wishes, --Mareklug talk 16:08, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- I suggest you see Meta:The Wrong Version - I protected the current version, irregardless of who prefers it. If I reverted you, and then protected, that would a gross abuse of admin priveleges. Maxim(talk) 16:12, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- :) Thanks for the link. What a great, funny, sarcastic, but needed piece. I suppose these things average out (Mr. Avala's skewed maps are frozen on Commons in a "\Wrong Version" :)). Anyway, my point is, the Kosovo-related pages should be well-tended these days, not just he Kosovo article, which is on probation. The separate matter of Mr. Avala using wily admin savvy for Blackj Hat purposes will probably await an RFC of its own... Best, --Mareklug talk

Hi. Could you un-delete Image:Vanuunu-Article.jpg please, for me to put in a fair use rationale. This image was uploaded in 2004 when different standards applied, and I guess the uploader is no longer active; but there is a good fair use case. That sure was a surprise to me that you determined Julian Price was not notable enough within 1 minute of the time I put up the new article. I listed approximately 3 dozen positions he is associated with in large corporations, banks, and insurance companies as well as other large organizations (i.e advisor to the 1939 World's Fair and the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University). I have expanded the article further with his Fortune 500 insurance company information. I'll be working on it the next couple of days and expanding it further, since there is much information on this very large insurance company. The Julian Price Memorial Park was made in his honor with the Price Lake developed on the Blue Ridge Parkway which happens to have the largest campground on the Parkway and is the largest recreational area developed for public use on the Parkway. I believe he is notable and worth an article. --Doug talk 00:35, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm unaware of the fine points of our image policies/procedures, so I was wondering if you could take a look at the deleted image again (if it is worth keeping, i don't recall it), and also the current infobox picture, which is also claiming fairuse without apparent need: Image:Oneweektitlecard.png. Much thanks :) (I recommend downloading/watching the 19 minute movie too, if you haven't seen it. It's a classic of the genre ;) -- Quiddity (talk) 10:00, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm, I've restored the image for now, but inquire at WP:ICHD, as I'm not fully sure whether it's in the Public Domain. Maxim(talk) 20:09, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Page improvement article group Dan Wesson
Hello Maxim!
You deleted article 'Dan Wesson' which i already worked hard on.
By this i lost hours of work [7]... which is partually my fault.
I just try to fix it up new ... you might have a look [8]at it just to understand the intention ....
Please give me back my work. I will cleanup the page leaving that it is under construction.
Regards Tom --Dan Wesson (talk) 15:26, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- It seems the article didn't assert notability, but it also seems to be a copyright violation. So I'm not going to undelete it. Maxim(talk) 20:11, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Its a pitty for my lost work ... but i will try to deliver it new on a 'silver plate' Tom --Dan Wesson (talk) 20:53, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Deletion of images
If you're going to delte images because there's a duplicate in commons (a la File:Niger Diffa.png), please make sure the pages using it relink to the proper image (or they have the same name). Otherwise, despite your good intentions, you've broken an image link and created work for others in the process of solving a minor problem. Thank you T L Miles (talk) 14:25, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Explanation may be good
You may already be working on it, but you may want to explain your block of MickMacNee. It says edit warring in the block log, but it's not immediately obvious where this has occurred. Friday (talk) 00:12, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- He's been editwarring on List of bus operating companies. It's on his talkpage. He's been editing in a very disruptive manner, a sampling of his recent talkpage messages shows that. Maxim(talk) 00:15, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Dubious. Friday, you should direct your attention to Wikipedia:AN/B#Time_for_an_Rfc_of_Betacommand.3F to find information about the reason for this block. ➪HiDrNick! 00:40, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Am I to understand you're not planning on explaining the block?? I don't see any explanation of it on his talk page. Friday (talk) 00:50, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- (ec) Um, I think he full well knows why I blocked him. Maxim(talk) 01:05, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
The timing and circumstances smell bad. I see he was edit warring, so the block may be warranted, but it would have been better if someone else did it. I'd be a bit more conservative with blocks/unblocks in the future if I were you. Friday (talk) 01:04, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- What do you dislike about the circumstances/timing? Maxim(talk) 01:05, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Well, you were already clearly in a disagreement over unrelated matters. See also User_talk:MickMacNee#March_2008 - someone unblocked. Friday (talk) 01:07, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- I unblocked a user once without contacting the blocking admin and I was dragged into a shitstorm about it. Now it's acceptable. Hmm... Maxim(talk) 01:11, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Also, unless it's very obvious, blocks should be explained on the talk page of the blocked editor. Friday (talk) 01:08, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Frankly, I trust users to have the minimal intelligence to understand why they're blocked. Maxim(talk) 01:11, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- I have unblocked the user - WP:BLOCK specifically states that admins in a conflict with a user cannot block them, it should be done by a neutral party to any disputes. (As an admin, this has frustrated me many a time, but I can see the protective benefit to the community) Also the duration was manifestly excessive. I have no doubt the block was enacted in good faith but we are accountable to the community for our actions. However, I have given a final warning in the unblock response as I believe this user does need to mend their ways. Orderinchaos 01:09, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- See the user's block log. This isn't the first time. And I blocked not for a matter over a dispute, but for editwarring, and other incivility and disruption. On another note, I unblocked a user once without contacting the blocking admin and I was dragged into a shitstorm about it. Now it's acceptable. Hmm... Maxim(talk) 01:12, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- I saw myself as obliged to notify you - to not do so would have been a major breach of good faith - but I'd also note no attempt was made to get community input before blocking one of your opponents in the heated dispute at the BC page - the fact that it was over another dispute at another location doesn't change that, as a neutral admin could have made, and probably would have made, a determination on the bus transport matter. Negotiation is for when I simply feel a block is wrong but the block is correct, or the length of a valid block seems excessive. While I believe you acted in good faith, you can see what perceptions are there, especially given your recent statements re your unilateral imposition of a topic ban (which would never have held, I might note) on the BC page. At the end of the day we're governed by two things - the community, through consensus, and policy - in this case whichever policies were violated by MickMacNee, and WP:BLOCK from our point of view. If I saw one of the five or six users with whom I am generally known to be in a dispute warring somewhere else (which I sometimes do), the correct action would be to raise the issue somewhere where it could be acted upon (I'm no hypocrite here or insisting on a double standard - I've had to go to AN/I in this way more than a few times - with about a 50% success rate in terms of final outcomes) or bring it to the attention of a genuinely uninvolved party who can review the situation and make a determination. It is clear this whole matter re BC is going to ArbCom, and the last thing we need are distractions and rabbit trails, or other good faith admins/users "going down with the ship". Orderinchaos 01:50, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

- Maxim, you blocked Mick for incivility and disruption, yet you gave Betacommand a barnstar barely half-a-screenful below a much more severe dose of incvility, and two screenfuls below a discusion on his running a bot for an unauthorised task? Sorry, Maxim, that doesn't add up as remotely reasonable use of your admin tools. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 01:53, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- There's a difference between trying to help and pursuing a vendetta. And you people seem to dislike my block because it was me making it. It was reinstated a few hours later by another admin. Maxim(talk) 23:37, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Old deletion
Hi! Might I impose on you to undelete the article about country music duo Fanny Grace? I was returning to edit it after a long absence and I noticed that you'd deleted it last July. It's a notable duo whith charted singles and major tours; one of its members was on a major television show. Thanks for the help! Looking forward to the opportunity to work on it again. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 02:38, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Arbcom?
What was this, a preemptive strike of some kind? That was guaranteed not to be accepted, with the way you drew up the summary. And I'd made it clear I thought this was a bad idea. It almost seems as if you were poisoning the well against future, better-drafted, attempts to approach arbcom with issues surrounding the BC concerns. Bellwether BC 00:24, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Please restore the image you deleted from Nigel Benson
The following was received from my question to Media Copyright Questions Susieabbott (talk) 12:12, 8 March 2008 (UTC)about why you had deleted the book cover image:
The Dunstable in Detail cover would be permitted because that cover is actually discussed in the article. Image:DunInDetail.jpg was deleted by User:Maxim. If you leave him a request on his talk page, he might temporarily resore it (if you don’t have a copy). Then you could add a {{non-free use rationale}} tag. Hi, I was about to edit the NWA Australian Championship article, when I noticed that you deleted it:
11:17, 2008 January 23 Maxim (Talk | contribs) deleted "NWA Australian Championship" (Deleted because expired WP:PROD; . using TW)
I'm not sure why it was deleted but I thought I should ask before making a new page.
There is a NWA Australia championship belt, currently held by Mikey Nicholls of the Explosive pro wrestling promotion.
It was won in a tournament November 23rd 2007, details at the websites...
It is officially called the NWA Australian Heavyweight Championship
NWA Roll call of champions for Australia
EPW Website
Official NWA Australia site (not yet updated for the championship)
Thanks --Skyhawker666 (talk) 01:02, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- It seems there was a bug. The reason for deletion was Not a notable championship, lacks references and has little content. Do you wish I restore the page, move it to your userspace, or something else? Maxim(talk) 02:13, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- If you could restore the page that would be great...I am kind of new at this anyway, but will do my best to make the page of standard quality --Skyhawker666 (talk) 08:13, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Topic Ban
I'm surprised by your topic ban. In my experience, topic bans usually happen after a great deal of discussion and with general consensus of the community. I frankly think you stepped out of line. You made it worse by blocking (whether related to the discussion or not) another user with whom you are engaged in a dispute. Again, I believe you stepped out of line. You are typically a user I respect, and I'm disappointed in these actions. Could you explain where you believe that admins are given the authority to issue a topic ban unilaterally? I recognize that it's possible that I'm not aware of an extant policy, and if you can point me in that direction, please accept my most sincere apologies. - Philippe | Talk 01:35, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, this concerned me as well. It's never been done before, and a new precedent did not need to be set here. Orderinchaos 01:50, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- It was simply a more creative approach to a problem. Instead of preventing him from editing the encyclopedia outright, I told him that he can't edit a certain page. Maxim(talk) 23:19, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sure you now realize you had no authority to do that. Topic bans are not leveled by admins, and carry no force when it's attempted to be implemented by an individual admin. What you tried to do was without precedent, as far as I can tell. Bellwether BC 04:40, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- So why not make a precedent. A short ban like that is better than an ugly note in the block log and it doesn't restrict the user in question from making edits to the encyclopedia. Maxim(talk) 11:51, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- Frankly, I'd support that, if it were policy. The correct way to implement it would have been to propose a new policy, not to throw it out in the middle of a heated debate. And, in my opinion, you absolutely should not have blocked Mick. You were clearly involved. That's a bright line that you crossed. - Philippe | Talk 17:06, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

75.43.192.0/19
75.43.192.0/19 (block range · block log (global) · WHOIS (partial)) AT&T range, looks like. Blocked for a month, with a reason of "Edit warring." This seems unusual, but you must have some reason for it. Having blocked a fair number of ranges, before, this seems like the sort that'll wind up drawing a lot of people asking questions, so we may as well get that out of the way: what's the story, here? – Luna Santin (talk) 00:00, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Rollbacker
Before you go around removing this right from admins, I'd suggest it would be polite to ask why they have them. The implication of your actions, where admins have given themselves the right, is that you don't think they understand the rollbacker right. Whilst it may be described as a "redundant group", there might be reasons, not immediately obvious, why admins have given themselves rollbacker. Adambro (talk) 20:42, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

This place just flummoxes me. Maybe I'm not understanding. The image is not "free." It can be modified or altered, it can be used as an illustration of the author -- which was why it was posted in the first place. There was a request for an author photo on the entry. It's a publicity shot / author photo which appears on the back cover of a number of his books. I, as the rights holder, granted Wikipedia the right to use the image with the entry for the author. That ought to be sufficient for its inclusion. If I tagged the thing wrong in the first place, sorry. But frankly, you need to work around this place full time to understand the conventions.Ibar88 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 00:21, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- A free image is an image you've released under a license when you can modified or used commercially, and thus you release at least some rights to it (GFDL, Creative Commons license, you can also release all rights to it (public domain)). Making a claim of fair use isn't appropriate when a free license is available. Maxim(talk) 12:31, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Relisting AfDs
Hey there Maxim, I'm sure you know this, so forgive my message if I'm missing something. When you relist an AfD, you not only need to add it to the current day's log, you need to remove it or add <!-- --> arond the link in the old day's log so that mathbot updates that log correctly. I've noticed a few of your relists from today that haven't been removed from the old log. Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 18:15, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Closing AfDs as merge
Hi. :) I see you closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Abundant Life Ministries as merge, but rather than merging you redirected. I'm afraid this might be confusing to some onlookers, who could think that you have merged the content according to consensus. I'm happy to do the merger on this one myself (soon as I get back from baseball), but in case you haven't hit a lot of closes as merge, I just wanted to point out to you that if you don't choose to perform the merge yourself, you might want to follow step #7 under "Process" at Deletion Procedure and use {{Afd-mergeto}} and {{Afd-mergefrom}} tags to get others to do it. And if you already know this and this one was an accident, forgive my pointing it out. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:14, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- The content was already merged by someone, so I just redirected it. I've never carefully read through those pages, I think I'm knowledgeable enough how to delete a page. :D --Maxim(talk) 15:26, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sure you're quite familiar with deleting pages. :) Merging, of course, does require specific steps. If the article was merged, the redirect needs to go into {{R from merge}} as set out at Help:Merge, and, of course, when we close as keep, merge, or redirect we record the results of the old AfD (also noted in step 7). But I'm not clear where it was merged. I don't see the content in the destination article or any mention of a merger in the history of the destination article or the source article. Just like the category, this is also necessary for GFDL compliance according to Help:Merge. Are you perhaps confusing this with another article? --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:31, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- I've merged it and dropped it in the category. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:40, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- P.S. You learn something new every day. :) Though I have read step 7 and occasionally re-read it (I always worry something will change while I'm not looking), I did not remember or notice {{oldafdmulti}}. Oh, well. Future use, I suppose. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:53, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

DFUI March 8
I had set it at Sunday 20st March 2008 as that was my rough estimate of when it would be done, and we'd still be within the March 23 Foundation date. For my own work, I can probably get it done by March 18th, but I don't know about others. MBisanz talk 22:05, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Jacques Plante editing/prep for FAC
Hi Maxim - sorry for the delay in getting down to working on the Jacques Plante article. Between work and battling pneumonia, this month has not been going at all as planned. In any case, I've copied over the article to a user subpage, because it's a lot easier to copy edit that way - I can take out big chunks of the stuff that clutters up the page editing-wise (infoboxes, award lists etc, that won't need any changes), and I'm not screwing up an already decent article by leaving paragraphs half-edited and so on. Please feel free to jump in, or to let me know if I take out something you thing is important. I expect there will be some rearranging as time goes on.
I have managed to get a bit of reading done which will be helpful in expanding the variety of reference sources; the Dick Irvin books that I've put on the talk page have some nice colour and will be useful in highlighting how revolutionary Plante's style of play was. (I'm guessing you don't remember how rare it was to see goalies outside of their crease back then, even in the 1960s most of them stuck to the nets.) I think his coaching experiences, both with the Nordiques and as a consultant, can also stand to be more closely examined. Do let me know if you see the article going in the wrong direction. Articles you protected
Please reconsider your page protection. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 04:06, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- Here at Annie Lee Moss. RedSpruce reverted over a dozen individual edits, including information on her birth, her parents, her husband, and her death date. He even reverted back to his typographical error in the name of the author. His strategy is to delete all my additions, then ask for the page to be protected to lock in his changes. He is just coming off a 24 hour ban for doing the same at the G. David Schine article.
- Here at Mary Stalcup Markward, User:RedSpruce has deleted every edit I have made to the article. Its not a matter of editorial opinion, its wholesale deletion of whatever I add. His strategy is to delete all my additions, then ask for the page to be protected to lock in his changes.

Image deletions
Wow, I was working through these images and now I see they're getting deleted out from under me. Is there any way you could just bump the estimated deadline two more days? It'll be easy enough for you to cruise through them at the hard deadline. Probably too late now anyway, oh well, that's what I get for trying to help out :) Franamax (talk) 00:32, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Damn. I started the deletion process at around 00:00... I didn't see this message until now. I'm terribly sorry, all the images are gone. I can restore some images if you have specific ones you want restored. Maxim(talk) 00:41, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm just an amateur working through the list, if I can easily figure out how to synthesize the FUR from what's already there, I want to do it. If I can save 100 before March 23 (the end of March 23, I hope - I work slow), then so much the better. What we really need are more people banging away at this, so we can save what's there if possible, but I'll just plug away on my own. Could you think about changing that "estimated to take until" date on the 8 March 2008 category and the later dates? It will be really easy to do the deletions at the deadline, it's pretty damn hard to be sure of getting the FUR right. As far as what you've already deleted, probably doesn't matter because there will be a legion taking out the dead links from the articles, so that will be irretrievably lost in a few days anyway. Oh yeah, you could spot-check a few of my FUR's to be sure I'm doing it right! Thanks. Franamax (talk) 00:58, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- The deadline was extended by a few days by MsBianz if I got his username correctly. It's much too late to change it, there are barely any images left. :-( Maxim(talk) 01:00, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- I should ask here - are you deleting images where the di-fur template is still on or checking each to see if the rationale has been added? For instance this looks to have a valid FUR added since the tag, but the editor didn't take the tag out? Just checking where I should be concentrating. Franamax (talk) 01:13, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, I see, the category is almost empty now. I'll make dinner now, then have a beer :) Franamax (talk) 01:16, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- I use a script that shows the last editor. If it's BetacommandBot or another fair-use partoller bot like BJBot, it's safe to delete. Otherwise I tell the script to skip it. Maxim(talk) 01:17, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Franamax, the first 1,000 deleted images are always the hardest to stomach. But just remember that over the course of the last 8 months, over 100,000 images have been deleted and once we figure out how to auto-enforce all of NFCC, more will go. For me its really become about saving what I can and learning to let go of what I cannot. And I'm Mr. MBisanz for the record, there is no Ms. Bisanz. :) MBisanz talk 01:37, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Plante to FAC?
Just logged in with the intention of spending the day editing this article. I'm going to put the "in use" tag on to go wild, and the article will probably be pretty messy for the next few hours. If you see something you don't like, let me know on the Plante talk page, I'll keep an eye on it. I'll leave you a message when I think it's close, probably around 3 or 4 p.m. EDT. Risker (talk) 16:27, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Taking me longer than expected, as my family has been extremely distracting today (just *why* must I test the dressing, and why is this the only time to practice lacrosse catches 10 feet from my desk?) but I am soldiering on. By the time you get back from the weekend, it should be cleaned up and all the new refs inserted. I like what you've done with the tables at the bottom of the article, they are more legible than similar "lists" in other articles. Risker (talk) 21:02, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, done. I've made a mental note not to plan major editing while on call for work - seems that's the only time they actually call me. Thanks for fixing up those refs I quickly put in while editing yesterday; I've clarified the rest of them. I'm still a little dubious about the heart attack thing; while it could well be true, the reference source isn't as "reliable" as the ones that say he died of cancer. Have a good read through, I may well have missed something. Best, Risker (talk) 23:06, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Undeletion requests
Hi Maxim - you (rightly) deleted a couple of images over the past few months because they lacked fair use rationales; however, all of these images were uploaded before the stricter rationale rules came into play. They were also uploaded by a now banned user so all the warnings went to him, and I didn't have any of these on my watchlist so I wasn't aware they had been deleted. I was wondering whether you would be able to undelete the following (preferably with the information that was on the page at the time of deletion, not just the image) so I can add fair-use rationales? Many of these are logos or Government advertising examples which don't have any free-use equivalent and add significantly to some articles.
The images are:

Q.s about websites for Jacques Plante
I just noticed Ealdgyth's questions on the FAC, about some of the websites used as references. I'm pretty certain I can reference everything back to a book (including a couple we haven't used yet), so I'll look into it. All of those websites are certainly good enough for external links; do you know if some of them are being used on other articles? I have to be out for the evening but will do the work on my return. Risker (talk) 21:18, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, they're better than those websites. I used them to reduce the number of Plante, R., pg. XX refs. I'll tell Ealdgyth that we're working on it and it might take a bit of time. Maxim(talk) 23:48, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- If its books on hockey you need, I also got a few. Some have reference to Plante in them, so I can help out if at all needed. Can even get them up within a day or so, too. Kaiser matias (talk) 03:59, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, okay. I just got in from the black tie thing I had to go to for work - I guarantee I would much rather have been plugging in the refs. Let me get the kettle going, the books are right here. I know all those things are in the various written references I have on hand because they matched my memory when preparing the article. Risker (talk) 04:03, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- Finally done. I have re-cited several of the refs from the Plante book using other books, so it doesn't look quite as though we were completely dependent on it, although the early life section is largely from there regardless. Added a couple of RS web-cites (another HHOF page, and one from the Montreal Canadiens website), and have managed to eliminate all the refs from sites that Ealdgyth questioned. If you could take a look tomorrow just to make sure I haven't missed a duplicate, I'd appreciate it. Risker (talk) 05:46, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Sorry...

Recreation of deleted article
Hi Maxim! Was wondering if you could recreate the deleted Mario Kempe article, he signed a contract with the new Elitserien team Rögle BK today. If I recall correctly the article was quite comprehensive for a junior player and a recreation (if possible) would be easier then starting from scratch. Re: Comments on RyRy5's talk page
Well Maxim, a ban is a pretty good idea, seeing as he didn't do anything for more than 3 days (constructively). But a block isn't a good idea, because he didn't exactly break any "WikiLaws" (policies). Basketball110Talk 02:19, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
This arbitration case has been closed and the final decision is available at the link above. The remedies decided by the Arbitration Committee, viewable here, instruct Betacommand with regards to the operation of BetacommandBot, including placement of notifications and civility in replying to concerns raised about its operation. Betacommand is urged to be significantly more responsive to good-faith questions from users whose images he tags and either to respond directly to such questions, and also to develop an "opt-out" list for BetacommandBot without imposing conditions on its use.
All editors are advised that periodic review of images and other media to ensure their compliance with the non-free content criteria may be necessary for policy, ethical, and sometimes legal reasons, and are invited to participate in policy discussions concerning this and related areas. Editors are cautioned not to be abusive toward or make personal attacks against participants, including bot operators, engaged in this work. The community is also urged to re-examine our policies and practices for reviewing, tagging, and where necessary deleting images in light of experience gained since the policies and practices were previously developed, including the disputes underlying this case. The Committee listed five specific points in the specific remedy that they believe any review should attempt to cover.
The Committee expects that the disputes and disruption underlying this case will cease as a result of this decision. In the event of non-compliance or a continued pattern of disputes, further review by the Committee may be sought after a reasonable time. In such a review, the Committee may impose appropriate sanctions including but not limited to the revocation of any user's privilege to use automated tools such as bots and scripts, revocation of other privileges, topic bans, civility restrictions, or any other remedies needed to end the disruption. However, please note that nothing in this paragraph restricts the authority of administrators to take appropriate action to deal with any disruptive incidents that may occur.

Signpost report (for the 20th)
Hey Maxim, here are the questions for this week's report in the Signpost.
- Can you describe what the project is? What is its history? Any aims and objectives?
- I'm a newbie wanting to help out at the project, what is there for me to do, or what's the policy on welcoming newer members?
- How is the project different from others?
- Do you feel that the project is your main focus of activity when it comes to article writing?
- A quite small project, do you feel that you are in an informal 'co-ordinator'?
- Does the Project have any weak points?
- What's your overall opinion on the project? Has it helped you in any way, for example?
Rudget (review) 19:57, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

- I hate to say I agree with Maxim, but I do. The politics of this place can be oppressive. Hell, I've heard of soap operas that aren't as bad as this place, so I can't really fault you for leaving for good if you do. But, maybe, in a few months, if you decide to, you could return like User:Yomangan did. Being an admin means having to deal with all the goofs, loons, and nutjobs we get, and, well, just being an editor, which is what most of us would prefer to be anyway, can and generally is a lot more rewarding. If you'd want to return as just a regular editor at some time in the future, without having to deal with all the weirds we get, I for one would be more than happy to deal with any of the loons you'd be facing for you if you just sent me some notes to that effect. Hi, you deleted the list of systems yesterday because: expired WP:PROD; Reason given: This article should be in Wikipedia space, not in main space, as it's a list of Wikipedia articles rather than encyclopedic content. using TW
Now I run the WikiProject Systems, I created that list, and I missed the WP:PROD because, I have been on a seven days holiday.
Instead of this deletion I would like to have the content of this list and his history moved to Wikipedia:WikiProject Systems/List of systems in the Wikipedia space, because:
- this is already stated in the given reason.
- this list is essential to the WikiProject Systems
- I put a lot of work in it and don't have a back up from that list.
It would really help me if you could fix this problem. Thank you. -- Mdd (talk) 16:17, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Greetings, and welcome back from your wikibreak! I noticed that you closed the Stanley Cup Champion Templates TFD discussion, resulting in delete. Image deletion
I'm not too impressed by your deletion of Image:Spectrum_Double_Dragon.png. The original contributer should have been given the opportunity to update the image information before deletion. This way the image may have been retained with only a little extra effort on your part. Does this summary deletion serve to increase the quality of information in Wikipedia? In this case I believe it does not. --Robmint (talk) 04:49, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- I gave the uploader a month and two days. I enforce the policy, which is directed by the foundation. While it might have not made an article better, it enforced a policy designed to lessen the risk of lawsuits, for instance. Do you wish I restore the image? Maxim(talk) 14:09, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Could you restore a deleted image?
Hi, Maxim. I notice you deleted Image:Latitude Zero 1969.jpg, which is the poster to the film Latitude Zero (film). I've tried to locate a good replacement for this image, but could not find one. If you could restore the one that was deleted, I will be happy to fix the image description, as it is my understanding that film posters are allowed as fair use at articles on the films that they promote. I have prepared a template HERE for film posters. Please feel free to use this in the future rather than delete these images which, to my understanding, are allowed. Just copy the text into notepad, and do the replaces (e.g. the film's name for "***FILM NAME***") then delete the top five lines, and you'll have a usable film poster image description. Thank you. Dekkappai (talk) 23:42, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

So I've finished doing what I wanted to see for the article, and now feel confident to nominate it. I wouldn't mind you going through it once again and copyediting, so it becomes less an issue at the nomination. Kaiser matias (talk) 01:52, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Just a little confused by what you wrote on how to make myself a nominator for the article. If you wouldn't mind explaining, that would be great. Like how you wrote the description of Linden, referring to him as a God and the like. Exactly what I was going to say. Kaiser matias (talk) 19:36, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- I meant that you can just add a nom, like Co-nomination by Kaiser matias and then you state something about your contribs, the article, subject, etc. Maxim(talk) 19:47, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

- It didn't meet this policy. There was also a categorization problem. My script indicated it was safe to delete when the problem was resolved. Better fix something in 4 months, than never at all, no? :-) Maxim(talk) 21:45, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

HIstorical visual effect software image deleted by script
You deleted the image I uploaded, probably with a script that didn't check everything. The rational was stated: It had one of the standard "This is a product box" template that's on Wikipedia. Now of course, I can't show you this, because it's been deleted... I am also the owner of that picture, I took it myself with a camera. I hunted down this product box at the software owner's AVID, and took this picture. But I used the rational stating that it was a product package (I forget the exact wording) I am not able to take another one. There are only a few boxes remaining like this in the world. Never received an email or anything about this, btw. I guess this is taking me aback. --Lucericr (talk) 19:28, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- I deleted the image per policy; it was lacking a fair-use rationale. I can easily restore it, provided you give me the image name. Thanks, Maxim(talk) 20:15, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey Maxim
I undid a deletion of yours recently. Generally, unless there are egregious privacy concerns, libel concerns, or something along those lines, User talk pages are explicitly exempt from U1 deletions unlike most user subpages. I undeleted User talk:Al tally for that reason. Cheers, Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 01:22, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
- He asked for a delete and I, well, deleted it, seeing no harm as there was very little history with that talkpage. It personally doesn't matter too much to me; if the user cares, he'll specify, for sure. Maxim(talk) 01:24, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not about to wheel war over it. I won't undelete again, as I really honestly don't give a rip. And I don't have email enabled to fulfill your request to "email you". Let it stay deleted, I don't care. If/when Al tally does return, and does decide to edit again, I can assure you that the talk page will be restored shortly. Not by me though, I respect your decision to honor his request. Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 01:39, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
- I see now that he redirect the "Al tally" pages back to "Majorly". Just an FYI. Cheers, Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 01:46, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
- And it looks like all posts on the Al Tally talk page have been placed on the Majorly talk page in this edit[18] by Majorly. Not really GFDL compliant, but it doesn't look like Majorly is trying to hide things from view (which I was a bit worried about at first), only to bring it all together. I guess the current situation is acceptabe. Fram (talk) 09:25, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi Maxim,
I hope you don't mind, but I just reverted your addition of "September 2008" to the block duration drop-down list. You noted in your edit that it might be useful for school blocks, and while I don't disagree the fact is that not all schools start and end at the same time--for example, I went to school from August through May in Louisiana, and the schools here in Japan start their new year around March. In addition, the fact that it's a moving target would require that the MediaWiki interface be updated every few months lest we wind up handing out an impossible block.
Anyways, I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know and make sure there wasn't a consensus for adding the option that I'm simply not aware of. Thanks! --jonny-mt 04:41, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

I have to offer great thanks for helping put the final touches on the Linden article and helping get it to FA. Agree with block
...but you may want to tread lightly with the block extensions. I wouldn't have disagreed if you made the first block a few days, but it's not going to look good if you and Mack are having at it on his talk page, and you just keep raising his block. Although it is apalling that in response to a block, he continues with his ranting which he just doesn't understand is falling on deaf ears in terms of helping issues with Beta or ST, just making it harder for people to accomplish something. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 18:16, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Protected, why? Adambro (talk) 18:40, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- MickMacNee was continuing the same behaviour I blocked him for. His behaviour was harmful to a collaborative project; instead of using the talkpage to ask for an unblock or a clarification, he persisted in the same behaviour. To prevent that, I protected the talk page. Maxim(talk) 20:06, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Request guidance for reposting a revised version of a deleted article
Deletion records indicate the article titled “GobiernoUSA.gov” was recently removed, as it was considered “spammy”. We have researched this reason as well as suggestions for improving the tone and content to fit Wikipedia’s publishing policies. Deleting a page for a move
When the afd on Bridlewood Community Elementary School was opened, the nominator moved the original one to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bridlewood Community Elementary School (1st nomination) as opposed to calling his nomination Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bridlewood Community Elementary School (2nd nomination). This completely messes up the AFD history template thing on the nominated articles talk page. To correct this, the page Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bridlewood Community Elementary School (1st nomination) should be moved to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bridlewood Community Elementary School, but to do that the redirect at that page must be deleted. - Yup, but he could have saved himself so much time by asking me beforehand. :-p If I could nuke 600 pages, I certainly can protect them. ;-) Maxim(talk) 18:18, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

- You've indefinitely fully protected many IP talk pages, where the IP is dynamic and the IP is not blocked. Is there a reason for that? Thanks. -- zzuuzz (talk) 16:40, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- They were in the category of Grawp socks. Should I unprotect all of the IP talkpages? Maxim(talk) 17:51, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- It is certainly worth looking at them again (and the IP userpages) with a view to unprotecting where protection is not warranted. Even semi-protected IP talk pages usually hinder efforts to reduce vandalism and stand in the way of facilitating other effective communication. Thanks. -- zzuuzz (talk) 18:19, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- They were in the category of Grawp socks. Should I unprotect all of the IP talkpages? Maxim(talk) 17:51, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- I say, bless you. Being able to lock out all of those socks with a couple of keystrokes was absolute magic. I have rollback privileges (don't want the admin privileges ever again) and I may have to look into the possibility of using Twinkle as well. Just too freaking cool. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 00:13, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Origin of the Romanians
I would like to seek your advice. A protected article (Origin of the Romanians), at its present status, is a chaotic system of mainly unsourced statements. If my understanding is correct, without reaching a consensus with the editor, who made this chaotic situation, there is no way to improve the article. I have been desparately trying to reach a consensus with him/her, but it seems impossible. What is the proper way to communicate with somebody who calls you irredentist and who cannot accept any neutral ideas either? (and it is not an issue that he/she does not accept any ideas, but he/she fails to provide argumentation). E.g., I tried to suggest that the written sources mentioned in the article should be set into chronological order. The answer: "negative". Are we sure that forcing consensus and leaving the article at its present status (unsourced statements, false references to medieval sources) is the best way to improve Wikipedia? Thank you for your comments in advance. Borsoka (talk) 17:28, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Deletion of Acroma and Orbitals (album)
Maxim, I see you deleted Acroma and Orbitals (album) per WP:PROD. While the band is less notible than some, I think the pages were pretty good and didn't read like ad copy. Also, I think the page mentioned that the band was loosely related to someone from Tool, which seems notable enough for a good, if small, page. Would you consider undeleting it? —Ben FrantzDale (talk) 16:27, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'll undelete as a contested prod, but I need a direct links; Acroma and Orbitals (album) nor Acroma and Orbitals have never existed. Maxim(talk) 20:12, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for putting the protection on my page. I must ask, though, that you extend the length of it. RfA thanks
Thank you for your support in my recent RfA, which closed successfully. I felt the process was a thorough review of my contributions and my demeanor, and I was very gratified to see how many editors took the time to really see what I'm about and how I can be of help to the project. As a result, some editors changed their views during the discussion, and most expressed specific, detailed points to indicate their opinion (whether it was , , or ).
A number of editors were concerned about my level of experience. I was purposeful in not waiting until a particular benchmark occurred before requesting adminship, because I feel - as many do - that adminship is not a reward and that each case is individual. It is true that I am not the most experienced editor around here, but I appreciate that people dug into my contributions enough to reach the conclusion that I seem to have a clue. Also, the best thing about this particular concern is that experience is something an editor - or administrator - can always get more of, and I'll continue doing that, just as I've been doing. (If I seem a little slow at it, feel free to slap me.)
BTW, Did you really delete the main page?
I am a strong believer in the concept that this project is all about the content, and I'm looking forward to contributing wherever I can. Please let me know if I can be of any help. In the meantime, I'm off to school...
Thanks again!
Well, I guess you can ignore my question above. I found the answer :-)

Ingrid Betancourt images
Maxim, could you double-check the copyright status of Image:Ingrid-Betancourt.jpg, as well as the cropped version on the main page? Block of 72.0.36.36
Looking over your recent logs, I'm wondering if you've lumped this 72.xxx IP in with a few others that had been trolling on AN/I. Unless I'm missing something, this user might not be the easiest to deal with, but I'm not seeing anything since their last block that would suggest a need for a 3 month block without warning or explanation on their talk page. --Onorem♠Dil 01:32, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
- I mixed them up... the stalker of User:David Shankbone is on a 72.76 range; I mixed up 72.0 and 72.76. Maxim(talk) 01:38, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
- OK. Thanks for the clarification and unblock. I didn't think that the 72.0. guy was an IP jumper normally...and then saw the similarity with other IPs you'd blocked and other IPs that were still actively trolling on AN/I. Easy to see how that mixup could happen. Thanks again for the quick response. --Onorem♠Dil 01:52, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Kryptonite Nixon
I respect your opinion regarding my submission but I contend that the history of a genre of music, in this case punk, requires continuity and Kryptonite Nixon is an integral part of punk's lineage, esp. hardcore punk, despite the issue of noteworthiness. The sources I have listed (which I continue to find btw) are not as reliabe as I have found for other topics, yet they do indicate a continuing interest in the band and sales of their music. --Robert (talk) 02:09, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
I have restored this page, which you speedily deleted last year, citing WP:CSD#G8, "talk page of a nonexistent article." Hi Maxim,
Why was Dynamic Process Management deleted? This article described a enterprise architecture framework and process. It is relatively new and therefore there are not many examples of it's use, so it's difficult to get references to it that are not part of the framework itself.

Okichitaw article
Dear Maxim:
It has come to my attention that you have deleted the article on Okichitaw, citing it as an advertisment. First, I will ask you to reinstate the article. Secondly, it is no more an advertisment than articles on any other martial art. Less so, in fact, because no one connected with okichitaw is paid for their work, which is not the case with any other martial art I have ever heard of; the organisation desseminating the art is a not-for-profit. By what criteria did you decide that this was advertisment? If here are percieved difficiencies in the article, could you not have proposed a remedy, rather than removal?

Please restore deleted user page.
Please restore the deleted user page of Pascal Tesson sucks which you deleted on July 13th. I wish to do some research on the name.
I am looking into how to improve Wikipedia by looking at people's behavior. There are many aspects to the problem. There is also inconsistency in how matters are handled in Wikipedia. This whole effort is not directed at a specific person or administrator.
The Pascal name is at one end of the spectrum being an obviously inappropriate name. However, even the way that the name has been handled may point to certain improvements in the system.
I will report to you on my findings if there are any. Chergles (talk) 15:42, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Re: "Portal:France/Wikiproject"
I was wondering about the deletion of "Portal:France/Wikiproject" (Deleted because "G6: Housekeeping". using TW). The said page was used on Portal:France as a collapsable template. Greetings Maxim; I was browsing today and found that David Miller (software developer) had been deleted (a PROD that expired yesterday by the looks of the logs). I don't think I've been involved with this article before. Please could you rescue/restore it under my userspace, to avoid the history getting lost if I am able to do anything with it in the future. Many Thanks, —Sladen (talk) 00:15, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

In reply to your question, did you read the talk page Talk:The Anarchist International? Ie: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anarchist International. Now I cannot see the deleted article, but it has been salted. Please review and explain why no CSD. Regards --triwbe (talk) 12:26, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

- Hi, I've been working with Anna Quist on my talk page and hers, and she's been working on the article in User:Anna Quist/Anarchist International. She's made some of the changes I recommended, removing the most inappropriate content. She's added inline citations, albeit to a source I don't consider reliable. The further reading section was a response to my request that she add more sources mentioning the article, although I don't feel it addresses the problem because you can't see how much of a mention the group gets in the articles. Comparing the version before it was deleted through AfD and the version you deleted, they're very similar but not the same (mainly the last paragraphs are different). Anyway, I told Anna I'd bring this up with you and that you'd maybe let it have its day at AfD, although I don't really see the point. Basically just wanted to let you know this discussion was going on so you could chime in if you want. Peace, delldot talk 15:40, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
ePost
User:Unitedequipment created a page ePost with no such a good information, I found it over WikiProject:Pakistan and expand it by using different references. But Now Its seems to be that there's not a such an organization exists in Pakistan & website URL is not working properly. The foundation date is 14 August, 2008. I think this article should be deleted because its seems to be spam or advertisement. --SaqibChaudhry (talk) 18:06, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

Any particular reason why the justification given in Image:SonyJumbotron.gif was insufficient? An event that happened over 20 years ago isn't a good candidate for a free replacement image. Orpheus (talk) 23:22, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- Apologizes for the erroneous deletion, I must've missed the disputed template. I've restored and put {{rk}} as it obviously, as you said, not a very good candidate for a free replacement. Sorry for the hassle, --Maxim(talk) 00:03, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

deletion of PROD articles
Hello. I was in the process of running trial edits for a bot task request of mine. While reviewing the edits, I noticed that you had recently deleted some articles, but did not delete the corresponding talk pages. I'm not sure if this is a mistake or not. If you need to go back and delete them, User:Rockfang/Sandbox has a list of some articles that were prodded on the 17th.--Rockfang (talk) 05:37, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Rockfang, thanks for the heads-up. I've gone and cleaned up those talkpages from your handy list, but I usually don't delete PROD talkpages, as me and other admins regularly check orphaned talkpages with this tool. Maxim(talk) 12:48, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- Why not just delete them both at the same time?--Rockfang (talk) 12:52, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- Because the script I use to save me button clicking after I check the articles only takes care of the articles, and not the talkpages. The script takes care of redirects, so in theory, I can ask for an upgrade so the talkpage is deleted as well. --Maxim(talk) 13:09, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- First off, thanks for the replies. :) Second, your reasoning makes sense. If you want to do that, it's up to you. I think I've come up with a solution to my problem using AWB. :) Gotta love epiphanies. --Rockfang (talk) 13:16, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Talk:Wasp Factory Recordings
Any chance of restoring Talk:Wasp Factory Recordings? There's an effort going on to rescue this page over at user:Evilandi/Wasp Factory Recordings and this linked to it. Although this was literally "a talk page for a deleted article", there's still some slack under G8 that would seem to permit its survival during this rescue effort, "This excludes any talk page which is useful to the project, and in particular: deletion discussions that are not logged elsewhere". Thanks Andy Dingley (talk) 14:00, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- I've been very bold and moved the talkpage to User:Evilandi/Wasp Factory Recordings/Old talk. as I have a nagging feeling some admin is going to delete this talkpage by accident again. Maxim(talk) 14:03, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Image deletion issue; Image:Bristol hf04 sar from sap 01.jpg
Hey. You deleted Image:Bristol hf04 sar from sap 01.jpg, but the image had actually changed names on commons. Since no-one changed the image location in articles prior to deletion, the image red-link was removed from the articles by an image removal bot. Portal:India
Hi, can you tell me why you deleted Portal:India/Selected picture and Portal:India/Selected article on 7/22? Both templates were feeders to the Indian portal and were used to automatically populate articles and images in the Indian Portal over the last couple of years. I wasn't aware of any discussion on their removal, so I'd be glad if you could clarify. Thanks AreJay (talk) 18:09, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- The portal used a complex system of redirects to automatically populate articles/images. I thought the redirects were unused so I unwittingly delete all of them. I've restored everything that I deleted erroneously. Thanks for letting me know. Maxim(talk) 18:17, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Major changes to the AI-Wikipedia page
I have made som major changes to the AI-Wikipedia page, and I am sure it will meet the WP:RS standards this time. Thus I hope you will not delete it if I publish the new website on Wikipedia. What is your opinion? Please give a quick reply. The new material is at User:Anna_Quist/Anarchist_International
I have also added another article to the Further readings list and added one new source at the External section.
I hope Wiki-consensus about publishing of the page can be reached before I publish it. What is your opinion? Is the page good enough for publishing? (Anna Quist (talk) 12:45, 25 July 2008 (UTC))
- Yes, it is. Feel free to publish it. Maxim(talk) 13:54, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- I am quite concerned by this; the organization has a long history of impersonating other organizations and making extravagant claims to their importance. From Anna's recent contributions: "The probaly largest anarchist organization in the world today is the Anarchist International", "The probably largest anarcha-feminist organization in the world is the Anarchafeminist International", "The probably larges green anarchist organization in the world is the The Green Anarchist International Association (GAIA) ", all with links to the same website. I find it very difficult not to view this as vandalism. Skomorokh 07:36, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Bigblue Product Design
Hi there, I noticed that you deleted the Bigblue Product Design page. I've been on vacation from the time it was flagged for deletion until now. I can't see the discussion for the page or see what criteria was used for deletion.
Would you be able to clear things up at all? 80.45.75.44 (talk) 08:31, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Strange... I don't know why my script didn't put there reason in automatically, but the reason was "notability not asserted, written promotionally, author has conflict of interest for neutrality". Do you want me to undelete the article as a contested prod? If yes, I will, most likely, immediately send it to WP:AFD per the same reasons it was proposed for deletion. Maxim(talk) 13:36, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- That would be great if you could do that. I'd like to at least be part of the deletion discussion and make amendments to the article if possible if it violates any policies. Thanks 80.45.75.44 (talk) 14:37, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Message to Delldot, Maxim and Triwbe about cooperation to improve the AI-Wiki-page
As you well know, the AI-Wiki-page is once more deleted, this time by Bjweeks on a request from Hoary. I have written to them at their talkpages about cooperation to achieve an AI-Wiki-page that has general Wiki-consent, before publishing it again. Copies of these messages are on my talk page. Take a look at them. As AI is the largest anarchist-network in the world, it of course should have a Wiki-page. I invite you all to contribute to a better AI-Wiki-page for later publishing. This time so good that it will not be deleted by anyone.

Page deletion question
Hello: A short time ago, I created a page for the trade association, DMAA: The Care Continuum Alliance. As a placeholder, I initially used the language of the DMAA mission statement as the page content. When the page was proposed for deletion due to this being a copyright violation, I rewrote the page in original text. However, it appears that page has been deleted, too. Can you explain what I did wrong the second time? If it was a deletion error, can you restore my original text--I don't have a copy, unfortunately. Thank you. Cgrazian (talk) 18:41, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well, the article didn't comply with basic policies, so I moved it to User:Cgrazian/DMAA: The Care Continuum Alliance so you can fix the issues. The reasons for deletion are in the page history, the script I use to help quicken the task of deleting each page after I inspected it seems to have a bug. --Maxim(talk) 18:50, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, but I'm new to this and having trouble interpreting the notations in the page history. Can you explain which "basic policies" I violated and suggest how I can fix them? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cgrazian (talk • contribs) 01:16, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

WinFlash Page Deletion
Hello,
I'd appreciate it if you would replace the WinFlash page and start a 'deletion discussion' about it.
I have been through 'cleaning' this page to the satisfaction of another administrator some time back and feel that it was deleted unfairly. References in 'spaced repetition' contain direct links to Wikipedia articles on three of the competitors to WinFlash and indirect (can then find the reference if link is followed - e.g. Pimseleur Language Learning System)
If you are not going to allow any articles about commercially available products then please immediately remove the articles about
SuperMemo The Pimseleur Language Learning System Anki Mnemosyne
Singling out one product for 'blatant advertising' and allowing its competitor's to retain their postings is inconsistent and unfair.
Thank You

Deletion Review
I am sorry if I caused you any trouble with the deletion review. I did not mean for those notices to carry any connotations of bad deletions. I was just following the procedure that I've done for all other undeletion requests in the past. Every admin I've asked to undelete things before I've taken them to deletion review has not responded, so I usually just open a deletion review. This was not meant to be an insult to your judgment or anything like that, I just thought that you would have better things to do than look at an undeletion request for an image that was deleted months ago. Also, I like to see if other people have issues with the items being undeleted, so that I can address any concerns in one place instead of on individual talk pages (which can sometimes be harder for people researching the items' history). Again, I didn't mean to offend you or slander your good name with the deletion review, and I apologize if it came off as such. That being said, would you mind taking a look at these images and restoring them if you agree that they could be used in Cardassian starships if a fair use rationale was included for each image? Thank you!

- I thought there were more... apology accepted, and I've restored all three. Thanks for the handy restore link. :-) Maxim(talk) 17:01, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- There was one more, but you were not the deleting admin. I have given that admin a notice on their talk page so that they can have a chance to deal with it first. Thank you again for your help! — OranL (talk) 17:06, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
New editor
Maxim, there is a new user, Maximr (talk · contribs), that has posted to your talkpage. It's either an impersonator, or it's you. (his first edit was to this talkpage with the word "test", followed by a quick reversion of himself). I realize that you are going on vacay tomorrow, but if you could post here to confirm it's you (or not you?) so I can handle the other account appropriately? (Meaning, I'll block it if it isn't you, go away if it is you :-) Keeper ǀ 76 18:54, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- That's my alternate account. Should make note of that... Maxim(talk) 18:55, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- No problemo! I'll try my hardest not to block it :-) Enjoy your vacation! Keeper ǀ 76 19:16, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks; I certainly will. Maxim(talk) 19:32, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
