Broken link to Hall of Famers
[edit]I notice that this template will not work with Hall of Famers on the legendsofhockey.net website, due to the different URL syntax. For example http://www.legendsofhockey.net:8080/LegendsOfHockey/jsp/LegendsMember.jsp?mem=P197802#photo will lead to Jacques Plante, which is a much different format than http://www.legendsofhockey.net:8080/LegendsOfHockey/jsp/SearchPlayer.jsp?player=11269 which leads to Scott Pearson. Should we create a separate template for Hall of Famers, or amend this one? Flibirigit (talk) 01:27, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- I would use a seperate template, however I am not sure it would be possible to alter this one. But I don't know how to code these things very well, it might be possible to put in a switch that says to use the other url type if they are a hall of famer. -Djsasso (talk) 17:29, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- I've looked at the code, it would just be way too complicated to work both URL variants into one template. I'm suggesting {{Legendsmember}} be created instead. Flibirigit (talk) 18:37, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- A separate template makes sense, I agree. And it should be relatively straight-forward to copy from one to the other? Alaney2k (talk) 19:37, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Template {{Legendsmember}} has been created. Flibirigit (talk) 18:10, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Edit request to protected template

I would also like to add a "See also" to this template, similary to {{Legendsmember}}:
==See also== {{Legendsmember}} for NHL players inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame
Thanks. Flibirigit (talk) 18:15, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- I should haven't mentioned that the "See also" needs to go inside the noinclude tags, or else it shows up on players pages. That needs fixed. Flibirigit (talk) 21:39, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- I've moved the usage notes to Template:Legendsofhockey/doc using the usual documentation system, so you can add whatever notes you want yourself. Happy‑melon 22:06, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

- Thanks. I wasn't aware that was possible. I don't think anymore changes need to be made though. Flibirigit (talk) 22:14, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
