Re: conduct
- Hey Fordx12, I truly appreciate you bringing this to light on my page. I cannot overemphasize the importance of having a balanced wiki lldm; I try to do my best to ensure this page is not a publicity page. I have a feeling this irks the lldm faithful like yourself, but rest assured I am not trying to be antagonistic in any way nor by any means. If you decide to seek an editor review, then that is your prerogative. But for the meantime, I feel that the way for us to go is to maintain good faith in the volunteering we do for lldm wikipedia. For the past few months now you have ambitiously tried deleting the same information on the controversy section using a multitude of excuses. So please know that this is not a pattern of good faith editing. Lets not turn this into another personal issue, because I certainly don't plan on it. Know that I am here to help in every way possible, and that I'm here to stay as a curator for lldm wiki. As I mentioned before, our disagreements are the simple sign of progress. Have a wonderful day. RidjalA (talk) 05:51, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
Regarding Quotation in "Women of La Luz Del Mundo"
Here's what I contributed to lldm wiki: "However, Patricia Fortuny remarks that "the church explicitly denies such roles exist for women for fear that either women may be seen as equals to males, or that it may appear as an "absence of subordination" in women."
Using Bing Translator, for the sake of neutrality, here are the following passages from Fortuny I used to quote (the words in brackets I added for grammatical clarity):
Passage 1 “No obstante, cada vez que he mencionado en presencia de creyentes (de ambos sexos) este servicio como la oración de las mujeres, todas y todos han negado que sea un servicio religioso femenino o para las mujeres; me corrigen diciendo que se trata simplemente de la oración de las nueve de la mañana” (pg 139)
Translates to:
“However, everytime I have mentioned in the presence of believers of both sexes this service as the prayer of women, all have denied is a female religious service or to women; I [am corrected], saying that it is simply the [prayer] of nine o'clock in the morning”
Passage 2 “los miembros niegan la existencia real de un servicio religioso que ha sido creado ad hoc para la población femenina de las congregaciones…” (pg 140)
Translates to:
“members deny the existence of a religious service that has been created ad hoc for the female population of the congregations…”
(pg 140)
Translates to:
"I infer from this that, if the membership considers this as [a] female [gathering], you would be giving authority to women in the religious or ecclesiastical framework of the ritual, and this then [would] put [them] on a plane of equality or [in] absence of subordination to men."
Therefore, in what I translated, I don't believe there is anything blatantly wrong nor usurped (or "bad", as you stated; perhaps it is "bad" for you in that it contradicts the "pro-women" perspective you were trying to achieve, but as you already know, this is not PR page).
Feel free to ask for another third opinion if necessary. RidjalA (talk) 03:30, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
Thanks again for your concern. In the link you provided, it states that you may closely paraphrase if it's hard to rewrite in your own words. But also consider that there's a catch to it:
"...closely paraphrasing extensively from a non-free source may be a copyright problem."
Even if they were done in good faith, your recent edits can not remain as they are for the time being. They'll have to be removed or rewritten in your own words.
As to your question regarding why I publish in the controversy section, to best answer your question it is best if we ask "why should you care to know?" It's a legitimately profound question. Let me briefly explain:
I'm questioning as Fortuny mentions, "the contradictions between practices and official rhetoric" of La Luz Del Mundo (pg 137). What the "Controversy" section is, really, it is a section where all of these contradictions come together (there's still plenty more that hasn't been publicized yet, like the special privileges afforded to the royal family descendants, I wont go into detail but it entails exclusion and immunity from the doctrine SJF preaches). By finding out about these contradictions, it would be up to the responsible parties to mend them. So "why should you know?"... Simple. Knowing where the church gaffes is crucial in knowing how to make the church better.
Who knows, perhaps the next of kin will sell their mansions and exotic car collections and advocate for leaders to live in more modest terms, and really practice what they preach.
Truly know that I mean no harm, and that I in no way seek to question your faith. I look forward to our collaboration, and I hope I answered your questions. Message me any time.

Teahouse question
Hi Fordx12 and belated welcome to Wikipedia! I have replied to your question at the Teahouse. In my view, it may be beneficial if you re-word your most recent contribution to Talk:La Luz del Mundo, just so it doens't antagonize the other editor unnecessarily. In that way, you'll have more chance of a productive discussion. All the best! Sionk (talk) 19:48, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
Hi, I am a little confused as to which contribution I should edit. Could you tell me in which of the two sections so that I may edit them? Thanks for the advice. Fordx12 (talk) 20:49, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

Regarding comment on user conduct
Regarding the Comment on user conduct for editor RidjalA, I have responded to the applicable policies field, and the Evidence of trying and failing to resolve the dispute field. I have also added text explaining the links I added to the Evidence of disputed behavior field. I was in hurry and I hope I followed the guidelines correctly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ajaxfiore (talk • contribs) 22:03, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
I have added text to the Attempts by certifier 2 here Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/RidjalA#Attempts_by_certifier_Ajaxfiore. Perhaps it is time to inform RidjalA, if necessary. We should also revise it to ensure we are following the correct procedures here Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/User_conduct. Ajaxfiore (talk) 01:55, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
I have looked at archived Rfc/u and believe the first few fields, Statement of the dispute, Desired outcome, Description, Evidence of disputed behavior, Applicable policies and guidelines, and Evidence of trying and failing to resolve the dispute, should be written by both of us presenting the same issues. I believe we both agree on the following:
- Personal attacks, trying to discredit you based on you religion, and accusing me of being a member of LLDM, accusations of sock puppetry
- Article ownership in the form of constant edit reversions, and refusing to allow removal of unsourced content. Also wants to maintain copyrighted text.
- Clearly bias and sweeping generalizations against church members.
- etc.
Ajaxfiore (talk) 02:13, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
I have added the following 3 categories under evidence of disputed behavior: Personal attacks, Ownership, and Bias. I think we need to rewrite a great deal of this. Ajaxfiore (talk) 02:20, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
I will now take a hiatus, I have worked on the Evidence of disputed behavior section. I have incorporated everything I wrote to the 3 subsections I created. I also incorporated some of your work. I have yet to incorporate 3, 4, 6, and 7 from what you wrote. If you have time you may do this yourself. Some diffs are repeated between the 3 sections, but not inside a section, so please check the links before incorporating your writing. Have a good night. Ajaxfiore (talk) 03:46, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
I believe I have finished incorporating both of our points into the appropriate sections. Feel free to remove what you wrote as it is now redundant and can be found under the bias section. Also feel free to review what I have written and inform me of any mistakes. Ajaxfiore (talk) 03:18, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
I noticed you have added the following under Desired outcome
RidjalA will admit that his/her bias is a cause of these issues.
I am not sure whether this is a feasible outcome as it is akin to the forcing the user to apologize against his/her own will. Edit request
Hi there, I have added the following sentence to the La_Luz_del_Mundo article under Women in the hierarchy:
Women can serve as legal representatives of the church.
Please have a look at it. I ran into a problem translating "Representante o Apoderado Legal." I thought both were the same thing, I googled the terms but was unable to decide how to translate it. I have simply written legal representatives. Ajaxfiore (talk) 01:02, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
- The translation that exists in Wikipedia works in that context. An "Apoderado Legal" is a proxy for the Church as a whole in the legal system. For example, an Apoderado legal can sign contracts in the name of the church. A "Representante" can only speak for the church, or act as its voice be it in newspapers or interviews. So the term "legal representatives" is adequate. Fordx12 (talk) 03:56, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

La Luz del Mundo
Hi, I can clarify what I meant with my third opinion. The main point wasn't that the title of the subsection should be exactly this or that, rather the main point was that in a case where we describe an issue that has several significant viewpoints (such as did someone or did he not commit certain crimes), we shouldn't present a single viewpoint as truth. This comes from WP:NPOV which is a core policy, stating "Wikipedia aims to describe disputes, but not engage in them." In the third opinion I purposefully wrote "for example" so as to not try to impose any specific wording. The wording of the time, however, didn't strike me as neutrally written as it gave the reader the impression the abuse was fact, not allegations. Based on a quick reading of the section I don't see a problem with the "Schism" heading. Cheers, --Dailycare (talk) 21:38, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. That was my fault as I misunderstood the three-revert rule. I thought it was only a violation if the reverts involved the same material, but now I see that I was wrong. I will keep that in mind next time. Ajaxfiore (talk) 00:32, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

I am not sure of what to do with editing La Luz del Mundo article. A usere, Robertrosen, came on the talk page as a 3O editor and oddly requested opinions from all three current editors of that page. After receiving only two, he oddly accused the only editor that has edited multiple articles, Ajaxfiore, of having a single purpose account based on my comment that RidjalA and I mainly edit the LLDM article...which is really strange since that would make me and RidjalA the real WP:SPA's (Note:I have been attempting to spread out to other articles). This is his comment on the talk page [1] before he proceeded to section blank the following:
- Half the Controversy and Criticism section
- The architecture section
- The discrimination section
- The history section
- removed sourced material from the Belief and Practices section
- removed most of the section lead
- Changed the infobox by removing sourced information
Ajaxfiore mentioned that he "quite" the article [2]. I sent a message to RidjalA concerning Robertrosen. RidjalA responded to me here [3] Apparently he indirectly threatened to ban me and says that the 3O editor is an admin and PhD dissertations are not viable wiki sources. I really need someone to help me out here. I first ask an editor who edited the article's talkpage once before as a knee jerk reaction [4] and after seeking answers in the Teahouse, a Teahouse editor restored the article. However, I am left feeling very uncomfortable about editing the article due to what has transpired. Robertrosen's edits started here [5] and ended here [6] RidjalA reverted the Teahouse editor's restoration here [7] Fordx12 (talk) 02:00, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- I notice that RidjalA has now removed the reference to Robertrosen being an admin. Neither of then are admins. As to PhD theses, I would not consider them as reliable sources unless perhaps they were published by a regular publisher. If they are merely a university item between candidate and assessor, I would think not. I'll leave the helpme up for a probably better informed opinion to arrive. Peridon (talk) 10:55, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- The dissertation is published by ProQuest, Dr. Jason H. Dormady (the author of the source) even wrote a book that mirrors his dissertation. The material removed was also supported by various scholars. Fordx12 (talk) 14:21, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- That doesn't look like the sort of thing I mean. By regular publisher, I mean a commercial publisher who vets the work and puts it on the market. ProQuest don't vet things - they appear to be acting as an equivalent to the self-publishing houses lulu, Xlibris and so on. You send them your dissertation, they print a copy or two (for a price, I presume) for yourself, store it electronically, and sell odd copies if anyone asks for one. Listing in their site, but no marketing or editorial review. If not regularly published, I would class a dissertation with self-published books and original essays. Obviously, one would presume, with a higher standard of content (but I sometimes wonder...). Peridon (talk) 16:49, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- First of all, I would like to thank you for your assitance and clarification. A university published his book that mirrors his dissertation (see info here http://www.sfasu.edu/courseinformation/cv/341.pdf ) Do you recommend that I reintroduce the History section using the book as a source? I will need to get that book first. Also, could you provide me with this kind of assistance in editing this article? I am being accused of POV pushing. The deleted content is all being called "fluffery." I feel that this is wrong since other articles on religions contain such content, and GA class articles at that like Jehovah's Witnesses. Would you be interested or do you know of an editor that could assist me? What I am asking for is for another editor that can shadow my edits and proposed edits and advise me. At this point I don't feel comfortable editing the LLDM article on my own. Fordx12 (talk) 17:43, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- An editor who takes an interest in religious subjects (and speaks Spanish...) is User:Yopienso, but she's often busy off-wiki. Fair-minded alternatives are User:Peterkingiron (who also takes an interest in religious matters) and User:MelanieN - or enquire at the Teahouse (WP:TEAHOUSE. If you haven't come across it, it's a sort of clearing-house for people with problems, especially for those without wide experience in Wikipedia. Another possibility is to ask at WP:RELIGION - there's a talk page and a long list of members of that Project. (There's a heck of a lot of Wikipedia that people don't see when they look something up...) Peridon (talk) 18:43, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- I have asked about things at the teahouse. I have asked an admin that has commented on the related issue and Peterkingiron. In essence I want to forget the past and move forward. What has been done, has been done. I will try the teahouse later, depending of how long it takes to hear back from the two editors or something like that. I will also go to the talk page and request for editors to visit the article and see if there are any problems there (Source reliability, POV issues etc...) Once again, Thank you. - The first thing I have to say is, honestly, I don't think I've even necessarily heard of this group before today. And if you knew me (be happy you don't), who seems to read encyclopedias of religion for the fun of it sometimes, you would know just how strong a statement that is. Iglesia ni Cristo, the Two-by-Twos, are some of only a few other groups fall in the same basic field. I say that to indicate, given the comparative obscurity of this topic in the US, at least initially, just about anyone would have difficulty trying to determine what is and is not POV regarding this subject they, probably like me, have rarely if ever heard of. This would probably include you too, because it is hard to determine based on what I have seen what is and is not neutral about this comparatively, in the US, obscure topic. The best thing I can think of, honestly, is for me to go to the databanks available to me, which might not be available to you, and check the books available on the net, which you probably could do through Google, and find what reliable sources really do exist. If you can read Spanish, I think that might help a lot - I can't read Spanish. I can and will pull up most everything I can find from the databanks, and would be more than willing to e-mail you and/or anyone else you request copies if you were to give me an address or two to send them to. But, having said all that, it is really very hard for anyone to try to determine whether edits about something they are virtually completely ignorant about are neutral or not. The best thing I can think to do is, at least initially, to not be so concerned with what has happened, but try to find as much information as possible, and then, maybe, if the situation requires it, look to see who if anyone deserves any criticism or praise for their actions before that time. John Carter (talk) 02:37, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you. I may send you a request for a source at some point. There is an English source from an Anthropologist in Mexico that I would like to have access to. If I come up with anything else, I will also make that request. Thank you for your advice. Fordx12 (talk) 02:43, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
- My name has been mentioned, but I know nothing of the subject, and therefore must decline to assist. I would however dispute that a doctoral thesis is not at least potentially WP:RS. Typically, the author will have spent three years researching his subject, ending with an examination with an external examiner, who will normally be a senior academic, and an internal one. This is a rigorous process, not too dissimilar to peer-reviewing for an academic article. It would probably rank slightly below an academic article, but if the research has been properly undertaken, the author should have reviwwed any earlier academic literature on the subject. If he has and differs from it, the authro's views are to be respected. Peterkingiron (talk) 16:37, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
- As one of the leading contributors to La Luz del Mundo, I have just two questions:
- Can a dissertation provide substantial information to a wikipedia article (i.e. as a primary source), and
- can a dissertation's domain be substantiated to provide counter clauses vis-a-vis the POV's presented by a book which is co-authored by two people, one of which is an Emerita professor?
- The reason I ask is because Dormady's dissertation is referenced way too many times (in my opinion) in La Luz del Mundo (by doing a search for "Dormady" on that page, one can see it is referenced at least 16 times). Furthermore, the co-authored book in question (Revista Academica) presents arguments which are incessantly downplayed by this dissertation. I don't feel that the issue is whether or not a dissertation is WP:RS, rather I'm wondering if a dissertation holds much weight to be afforded such an elaborate presentation as the primary antithesis to this book. Am I the only one who's got a gut feeling that something's a little off here? RidjalA (talk) 10:38, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
- That will be a moot point soon, RidjalA. I have acquired the book which is published by a university that mirrors the dissertation. I will soon be reciting the material. Fordx12 (talk) 14:20, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
- Like Peterkingiron, I have been mentioned as an editor who sometimes helps newcomers with their articles. I am normally glad to help. However, in this case my ability to help will be limited because I don't speak Spanish and don't have a lot of experience with religious articles. My immediate reaction on glancing at the article La Luz del Mundo was that it seems way too long and way too POV. By that I mean, there is too much detail about the history, the founders, and so on; and the beliefs and practices are described in a tone of "this is true" rather than "this is what the church preaches". The article has a lot of references, but I am not able to evaluate them or compare them to the material in the article, either because they are not readable online, or because they are in Spanish. And I can barely follow the arguments and discussions on the talk page. So I don't think I am going to be able to help. The one suggestion I would make is to remove "Servant of God and Apostle of Jesus Christ" from the section heading titles of the two founders. That is one of the things that gives the impression of a POV article. I suggest those section headings be reduced to just the names of the individuals. --MelanieN (talk) 16:43, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
- Those section titles predate my edits. I don't like them either. Thanks for your input. Fordx12 (talk) 20:31, 14 November 2012 (UTC)

Re: Editor assistance request
Hi, Fordx12. Sorry for the late reply. I typically do not edit certain topics on Wikipedia because I find the atmosphere too contentious. Religion is one of those topics. Perhaps you could request some assistance from someone at one of the Wikiprojects that focuses on religion. Good luck. Pinkadelica♣ 05:04, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

IMPORTANT CHANGES: We have modified the selection of articles SuggestBot suggests and altered the design to incorporate more information about the articles, as described in this explanation.
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information.
Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions
We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:
- Views/Day
- Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
- Quality
- Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.
The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:
- Content
- Is more content needed?
- Headings
- Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
- Images
- Is the number of illustrative images about right?
- Links
- Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
- Sources
- For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?
