China

[edit]

The article formerly mentioned Robert Morrison, Karl Gützlaff, and the early Protestant missions to the Qing Empire, including the first mainland Chinese Protestant convert Cai Gao and the first mainland Chinese Protestant minister Liang Fa, whose tracts were directly influential on the Hong Xiuquan and his Taiping Rebellion. Seems rather worthy of mention, so it's odd that it was ever excised. (Possibly a No True Scotsmen w/r/t the Taipings, but they were—at minimum—a Christian heresy and certainly an effect of Christian missionizing during the period.) — LlywelynII 19:39, 22 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

When did it have this? If we find it we can put it back in. tahc chat 22:13, 22 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
