- ...that the Golden Madonna of Essen is the oldest preserved sculpture of the Virgin Mary?

A Song for Simeon, is a 37-line poem written in 1928 by American-English poet T. S. Eliot (1888–1965). It is one of five poems that Eliot contributed to the Ariel poems series of 38 pamphlets by several authors published by Faber and Gwyer. "A Song for Simeon" was the sixteenth in the series and included an illustration by avant garde artist Edward McKnight Kauffer. The poem's narrative echoes the text of the Nunc dimittis, a liturgical prayer for Compline from the Gospel passage. Eliot introduces literary allusions to earlier writers Lancelot Andrewes, Dante Alighieri and St. John of the Cross. Critics have debated whether Eliot's depiction of Simeon is a negative portrayal of a Jewish figure and evidence of anti-Semitism on Eliot's part.

This week's article for improvement (week 2, 2020)
The pilot in command of an aircraft is the person aboard who is ultimately responsible for its operation and safety during flight. This would be the captain in a typical two- or three-pilot aircrew, or "pilot" if there is only one certificated and qualified pilot at the controls of an aircraft.

Hello CookieMonster755, can you send me the link of this "jewish times" article to confirm Ryan Deitsch was born in either 1999 or 2000? That would be appreciative. Until then, I've added the [citation needed] template until you can give me the URL, or put it yourself. Since you're an admin, I'm sure you're aware of how Bibliographies work around here. WildEric19 (talk) 21:06, 22 January 2020 (UTC)
- Hello! I am NOT an administrator. I am just a regular user. Thank you. CookieMonster755✉ 22:59, 22 January 2020 (UTC)
- In that case, can you please give me the URL so I can add it for the biblography? This is required by the way. Otherwise, it has to be removed. Biblographies are (probably) the most targeted articles for vandals, we want to make sure everything we added is verified. Thanks. WildEric19 (talk) 23:21, 22 January 2020 (UTC)

Apology for the rude comment
Hey CM, I want to apologize for writing this. I thought you would think I'm stupid for adding "If you need help do not hesitate to contact me" because you're a patroller and I'm a regular user so I thought you knew how things worked around here. It's like asking the manager if he knows the policies he could ask an his worker. I'm sorry, If you DO need help, I'll be more than happy to talk to you. Hopeful we'll be buds. I feel terrible for writing that. WildEric19 (talk) 20:56, 25 January 2020 (UTC)
- Hi WildEric19, thank you for the apology and I do appreciate you and your work on Wikipedia. I think what makes this community awesome is that we can all help each other with better understanding how to better contribute to this site. It is nice having editors like you for the Wikipedia community – and I hope I did not offend you, either. Thank you and Cheers, cookie monster (2020) 755 06:07, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
- Great! I'm glad you forgiven (You have nothing to be sorry for, that's my fault so you're good). Feel free to ask me for help. WildEric19 (talk) 21:33, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

Copyright info?
Can you tell us who owns the copyright to the group photo you edited and substituted for the Skarlatos photo, and if necessary permission has been sought and by whom or what entity it was granted? Thank you. Activist (talk) 06:47, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, the cropped photo is from a group photo with Alek Skarlotos from the US government. cookie monster (2020) 755 07:18, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
- I've gotten U.S. Marshals Service mug shots via FOIAs and posted them, as they were in the public domain. Those have been removed by other editors. So what is the basis of indicating that, apparently, all photographs taken in the course of work by a federal photographer and posted to Wikipedia, are by some standard, not subject to copyright infringement? Thanks. 17:46, 18 May 2020 (UTC) Activist (talk) 17:48, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, Activist, if the original image has a questionable license, then I am more then happy to propose deletion for the cropped image as well and remove it from the Alek Skarltos page. cookie monster (2020) 755 18:49, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for getting back to me. I tried to write you yesterday and was twice not able to post this to your talk page, after writing long messages. I was getting some kind of a conflict message. I've checked the licensure this morning and found the group photo is indeed public domain. However, I found that WP's cropping policy does not allow what you did. I've written to you on the article's Talk page. I've spent a couple of hours trying to sort this out. I finally reverted the restoration once more after not being able to reach you on your talk page and not finding the deletion discussion on the linked page as well. Activist (talk) 15:04, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
- Activist hi, if policy does not allow cropping, then the image should be removed from the article and should be proposed for deletion. I will remove it from the article right now. cookie monster (2020) 755 19:55, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
- I also removed the image from wikidata. cookie monster (2020) 755 19:57, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for your patience with this. I learned quite a bit about WP copyright policy. I also went to Spencer Stone's article and expanded it substantially, as his role in the fracas was not clear as it might have been, and his life-saving first aid was missing. Activist (talk) 20:04, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
- P.S. I think Mooglian deserves an article as well. What do you think? Activist (talk) 20:07, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Articles for Creation: List of reviewers by subject notice
Hi CookieMonster755/Archive, you are receiving this notice because you are listed as an active Articles for Creation reviewer.
Recently a list of reviewers by area of expertise was created. This notice is being sent out to alert you to the existence of that list, and to encourage you to add your name to it. If you or other reviewers come across articles in the queue where an acceptance/decline hinges on specialist knowledge, this list should serve to facilitate contact with a fellow reviewer.
To end on a positive note, the backlog has dropped below 1,500, so thanks for all of the hard work some of you have been putting into the AfC process!
Sent to all Articles for Creation reviewers as a one-time notice. To opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page. Regards, Sam-2727 (talk)

Disambiguation link notification for May 28
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Matt Deitsch, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Audacity and Current affairs (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 08:31, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
Notable lists
Hi, Cookie Monster. Just a note to let you know I've reverted your recent addition to the notable alumni list at Evans High School (Georgia). Using the what links here tab is a great way to expand notable alumni lists; I do it all the time. Please though, prior to adding the person, please verify that the backlink is to material that is actually cited to reliable secondary sources (esp. for living people per BLP). The citation to attendance for the person you addded did not mention that school at all. It is standard to allow an uncited entry on a notable list based on a citation in the linked bio, but please don't add if the claim of attendance is uncited in the bio, or if the citation doesn't verify. WP:CIRCULAR is very sound advice. Generally, when adding notables based on citations in the bio, best practice would be to copy the reference over to the list. This isn't policy either way; simply a practice myself and others have developed to make Wikipedia as friendly for its users as possible. Sometimes we lose sight of that, but really it's the only reason to do this at all. John from Idegon (talk) 18:26, 30 May 2020 (UTC)

UN definition
The UN definition of "youth" is 15-24. Where did you find your figure of 18? As a 17-year-old may have married and started university (I did the latter, not the former), to call them a "child" is inappropriate. PamD 11:06, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- Please don't change any more youth activists. I thought about taking this to WP:CfD for discussion but then decided to start here. I do not agree with your use of 18, and suggest that 15 should be used in line with the UN definition. What do you think? PamD 11:13, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- Category:Child musicians defines as "under 16", and the article Child actor distinguishes those from teenage actors (for whom there is neither article nor category). PamD 11:20, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- It is redundant to have two categories that overlap. If one category is "child activist", then only those under 18 should be in there. Youth activists should be 18-24. Or as you suggested, child activists could be under 14, and youth activists could be 15-24 per the UN definition. cookie monster (2020) 755 17:47, 17 July 2020 (UT)
There is no suggestion that they overlap. You introduced definitions, with no consultation, which are inconsistent withe the UN definition you mention. You also removed the youth category from people without adding any replacement category. I will change the scope notes to match the UN definition: under 15 for child, 15-24 for youth. PamD 06:54, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
- OK, sorry, I now see that you didn't introduce the definition at [[:Category::Child activists]], only the complementary one at Category:Youth activists. I can see that the definition of the "child ativist" category is long-standing and goes into its subcategories too. I still think it was destructive behaviour on your part to remove the youth category without adding the child category, which is was brought this to my attention (in the comments you have removed). I still don't understand how the UN definition is being cited to support something it doesn't support, but I'm dropping it now. PamD 07:24, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
- But please go back and add the "Child activist" category to those you've removed from "Youth activist" on the basis of being under 18. Thanks. PamD 07:25, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
