I've added the spacing tag to the page because I came here but the information is in huge chunks and blocks, and it makes it difficult to navigate if you just want to skim for a bit of basic info. Thanks! Dvmedis (talk) 22:41, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Error: History - 1970's to present

[edit]

3rd para. of this section describes a police raid on the turntable falls cooperative, which is described as both being "south of nimbin" and "in Queensland", which are mutually exclusive as Nimbin is south of Queensland. Someone who has the references and time can fix it please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.33.131.79 (talk) 23:58, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Early History, first paragraph, third sentence reads "It smells like poo and was used as an intoxicant by members of the literati; Marcus Clarke, author of the great Australian novel For the Term of his Natural Life, experimented with cannabis as an aid to writing." What's going on here? Is that supposed to be a quote, or is that an illicit edit? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lancelarock (talkcontribs) 03:48, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Legalization Movement

[edit]

The article seems to be quite stuck in the past of Cannabis criminalization. Are there no progressive legalization movements in Australia, like in the USA? -- Alexey Topol (talk) 08:53, 22 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Legalisation hasn't really had much traction (with the exception of the Sex Party). Decriminilisation has been talked about a bit but the main movements lately are in relation to medicinal use (specifically medical trials). Here's a ref [1] Ljgua124 (talk) 10:11, 22 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Obvious bias?

[edit]

I'm no Wikipedia editor, but I did study Journalism and communications. It appears there's an obvious bias here towards cannabis, a bias I certainly share, but I feel stuff like "with very little research done into use in Australia" is too much. Why is it relevant? I feel it should read more like a straight history, all that matters is that it was made illegal and the reasons therefor.

Then again, maybe I just wanted an excuse to finally use therefor. Therein isn't all guys, thereof, therefor, both woefully underutilised. 49.183.38.207 (talk) 07:51, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
